I am so sorry that you could not read the chapter. I did not notice that at all. I hope that everything works now:)

"Yes, of course" Cho answers dryly with all seriousness and leaves the office.

Lisbon doesn't believe a word he says. For her, this possibility is absolutely absurd. Not in her wildest dreams could she imagine having married the immature, annoying and exhausting counselor.

She turns back to Jane and looks at him, startled and confused, Patrick's face reflecting fear of Lisbon's reaction.

Teresa just starts laughing again. "Ahhhh I see. This is a joke right? One of your tricks and games. I probably haven't even lost my memory. I'm not married, I don't have kids, and I don't work for the FBI. This is all an insinuation. It's a very convincing and impressive production, but it's still fake. So what was the plan? Was it necessary to solve a case or were you just bored?"

"Teresa, listen to me..."

"Mommyyy! Daddyyy!" Jane is interrupted by his children running into the office. The three of them don't know about their mother's accident and memory loss yet. Van Pelt walks into the office right behind the kids.

"I'm so sorry Patrick, Cho called and said he really needed Wayne and me to be support on the case. I tried calling you, but your cell phone is off. I hope that's not too much of a problem now. Teresa, hey, I heard what happened, hope you feel better soon. We really need to talk after work!"

"It's all good Grace, thanks for bringing them in. We'll be fine. Better help Cho with the case." replies Jane to which Grace nods and leaves the room.

Ethan turns to Lisbon and asks "Mommy, why is Aunt Grace hoping you get better soon? Are you sick?"

Helplessly, the agent looks at the three tiny kids. How is it possible that the three of them look like a perfect mix of her and Jane? 'This can't be happening'

"You three wait here on the couch for a minute. And you don't leave the room, I need to talk to Mommy alone for a minute. You do nothing more than sit here and wait. Got it? Just sit and wait." the father says in a slow but certain tone. The last thing he needs right now is the building to start burning.

The three nod dutifully and respond with a unified "yes, daddy".

"Good" Jane leads the still overwhelmed Lisbon out of the room into an empty interrogation room.

"Listen to me Teresa, I know it's hard to believe. But believe me, a lot has happened in the last few years. We've both moved on, and yes, we've fallen in love with each other over time. I understand if you're not exactly euphoric about the idea right now, but go with it. We have three wonderful children. You should get to know them before you sink into despair," he speaks quickly, grinning innocently at the brunette.

"You're really not kidding? You're serious Jane?"

In response, she gets a sincere nod from the man, adorned with a smile.

A sigh escapes Teresa. She can't quite believe it herself yet, but she is curious about the children.

She turns around, through the glass walls she can see right into her office. Only now the parents notice that the children are no longer in Lisbon's office.

"Oh damn it," escapes the father before leaving the room with quick steps. Lisbon hesitates for a moment and then follows him.

The two look around but don't see the rascals anywhere. Wylie comes running up to the two.

"There you are! I've been looking for you guys all along. You can't believe what your kids are doing right now."

Lisbon and Jane exchange a quick glance and then follow Wylie, who wants to show them.

"Who's that?" asks Lisbon Jane quietly as they walk.

"I'll explain later."

Wylie leads them straight into the break room where the small kitchen is. The siblings have a food fight with the food that was still in the fridge.

"No paternity test needed, huh?" says Lisbon, looking at Jane.

Jane looks back at Lisbon, overwhelmed, and then back at his children and speaks in a lowered but stern voice.

"What are you doing? Go to your mother's office, we will talk about this later"

"But daddy, we were just going to get something to eat and then Elly..." starts Emma explaining.

"Quiet now. Just go into the office" on that the three of them obey their father's order and walk out of the room with their heads down.

Only now does Jane realize that Lisbon has been laughing the whole time.

As he goes further into the room to start cleaning up, he says "Really? You're laughing? I would have expected a different reaction to be honest."

Lisbon follows him and helps him clean up the mess. "Well what can I say, I would have imagined your kids exact the same way." she says still grinning.

"Don't forget, they're your kids too."

"Oh yeah, right" all at once Lisbon's laughter fades.

"So okey, how did that happen? So don't take this the wrong way, but I couldn't have imagined being married to you in my wildest dreams. And are these kids always like this? How old are they anyway, and yeah, um... what are their names?" Lisbon adds as she picks up the scraps from the floor.

Jane has to laugh, then replies with "It's really a very very long story. It all just kind of came together. I can't really answer how exactly either. But the boy's name is Ethan and he's 5, the girls are twins and 4 years old. The blonde one is called Emma, the brunette one Elly. And yes Ethan is less trouble. The twins are a little worse. They play with their sweetness, you really have to be careful not to fall for their cuteness. Before the accident, you were the only one who couldn't be manipulated by them. Even I'm regularly their victim... But they are not always like that. Sometimes they are really cute without ulterior motives. They are really wonderful kids... You just have to get to know them properly."

With the end of his monologue, the couple has also finished cleaning up. Now the small kitchen looks the same as before.

"Come with me. You have to meet them" the man says quite euphorically and Teresa also has to admit that she can hardly wait to meet these children, who are her own.

Tick, Trick and Track sit on the floor in the office. The three of them have been thinking along, because the way they look, completely filthy with food, it wouldn't have been a good idea to sit on the couch.

"Mommy, can we finally go home" Elly asks all annoyed and bored.

"Yes, we are going home soon." Jane answers the question instead of Lisbon. As he talks, he sits down on the floor with the tiny ones. Lisbon stops and looks at him comically. "But you have to know one thing before we go. Mommy had a little accident. Nothing bad, she's fine for the most part. But she can't remember a few things."
