Sam and Tucker were waiting for Danny at his locker, he had sended a text telling them he would be on time this day, though it was getting closer to their first hour to contradict his text. Five minutes before the last bell could sound they saw Danny approaching them, though before they could greet him they noticed the very obvious and new accessory on his face.
"Hey guys" Danny said tiredly while opening his locker looking for his books.
"…"
"What, is there something in my face?" Danny asked after not receiving his usual greetings.
"You have sunglasses Danny" Sam pointed.
"Yea Sam I know" Danny deadpanned.
"But dude, why those?" Tucker asked.
"Cause it's the only not broken pair I have Tuck" Danny responded.
"Of all the things you own why do you have to wear those?" Tucker asked in mock horror.
Danny was confused, sure his star shaped sunglasses, with a lot of shiny plastic rock making of fake diamonds, were eye catching. The three of them brought it and many more in an amusement park for that reason alone, but he didn't see any problem in wearing them in school.
"It's a fashion statement" Danny said, the lack of sleep and mounting stress made him not care how he looked at all.
"Right, and the real reason?" Sam asked not believing for a second Danny cared about fashion, unless it was about space.
Danny sighed and pushed his star-glasses up showing his friends his eyes, these had eyebags so dark it looked like he was using makeup in an attempt to pass as a goth. Though the real reason was that his eyes were green and glowing faintly, not enough to be noticed in natural light but yes in a closed classroom.
"Dude, did you drink ectoplasm again?" Tucker asked, amused.
"I put some in my coffee" Danny nodded, putting his star-glasses back in their place.
"You forgot it makes your eyes glow" Sam deadpanned.
"Yup" Danny confirmed.
"But what will happen if a teacher tries to make you take them off?" Tucker asked.
"The same thing happened when that weird ectoplasm made my hair change colors randomly and I wore a construction helmet all day" Danny said.
"They gave up very fast when you pretended to be paranoid of things falling over your head" Sam said, amused.
"Really? I thought it was the alien paranoia" Tucker said.
"You think I can use that one again?" Danny asked he didn't want to think of new excuses.
"Or you could tell them you have an eye injury and the doctors told you to wear it" Sam suggested.
"I could but it's not as fun Sam" Danny said.
"Then it's decided we use the paranoia first and increase from there. If everything else fails we use the medical excuse" Tucker decided.
"Sounds good to me" Danny said.
"Fine, but put something about darkness in the paranoia one" Sam said.
"Deal" Danny agreed.
