I do not own Hetalia okay? I honestly don't have much to say here than I did in chapter 1 for this intro. Anyway, enough of this A/N, on with the fic!
October 1st 1918
(from the diary of Natalya Jones nee Arlovskaya)
Today we have well…. news…. as Fredka put it when I was trying to determine if this was good or bad news. Vanya is discharged because of his injuries. He is apparently as this French Major says is paralyzed from the waist down. I do not want him to feel like less of a man though. I remember how Matthew was when he first moved in with us and he could walk. He may have a limp and not see as well as he used to I guess but he still has full autonomy on his functions. I also know how it will go with Katyusha when he gets home and she will devote herself to looking after him and possibly remain a spinster forever because she had bad enough luck with men when she didn't have to take care of an injured brother. Fredka said to her today when we told her about the letter that we would help but she declined us helping him in such a way. Said that we had enough on our hands with Matthew and three young children. Claimed she worked with veterans before in England so that would not bother her. There's just so much that is little things you don't notice until it happens.
Although frankly I think she is seeing Matthew more than we do. He goes often to her for help with his injuries or to not scare the children when he is having an attack of shell shock but there's a lot of times he is not seeming to be on the verge of having an attack or nothing that is one of his usual stimuli. Fredka has tried to engage him in some brotherly bonding ever since he moved in with us over a year ago and he's joined him only really when Nikolai or the twins were with them. And this makes me wonder how they will take to seeing the Dyadya Vanya as Nikolai calls it like he is now. I know he is paralyzed but is there other marks that that cheese eating Frenchman not telling us about? I do hope to hear from him soon. I know he is now discharged but someone should tell us when to expect him at the port. I would be so ashamed if he was left there because no one told us when to expect him.
So how was that? Good? Bad? Short? Long? Let me know in a review. This story is intended to stand independent of both The Longing of the Heart and The Healing of the Heart which this story will have a difference from both naturally. Now if this will be as long as those, that I do not know yet and I won't update as fast as some of the others I have. But anyway, remember to read (well you just did) and to review. Ciao for now,
