And destruction...that would also work.
The breaking of glass, The roar of engines, the crashing of buildings and cars, and the deafening screams of people filled the damp morning air in Station Square. A army of badniks and mechs rumbled through the streets, while high above, Dr. Robotnik directed the mass of machines, aboard a small detachment of the Egg Fleet. "This time," Robotnik chuckled to himself, "there is no way Sonic will defeat me!" His bref moment of self-glory was cut short, however, when in the distance, flashes of blue lit up the streets. Sensors blared inside the ship, as live cameras inside his mechs were quickly going static. Suddenly, on one of the cameras, the face of a blue hedgehog appeared. "Hey Eggface! I thought you said that you were gonna build stronger mechs in our next fight!" As soon as Sonic finished, the camera went static, as did many other live feeds. "No!" Robotnik yelled.
As Sonic continued to tear through Robotnik's army, above, the Tornado II ripped through the air. Inside was Tails and Knuckles. The plane was continuously providing support to Sonic on the ground. "Alright Sonic, we're heading to get Eggman!" Tails yelled to Sonic, hoping the earpiece caught his voice over the sound of explosions. "Got it Tails! Go get him!" Sonic replied through the earpiece. Arching quickly, the plane climbed into the air, heading directly for the ship in the center of the three strong fleet. Large AA guns thundered in the air, as black puffs of flak began to surround the duo. "Be careful Tails!" Knuckles yelled, ducking further into his seat. "Don't worry, I got a plan!" Tails replied calmly. Swinging wide to the right, Tails maneuvered the plane out far enough to swing in on the right battleship. The 50-caliber machine guns on both wings of the plane fired, effectively strafing the ship. Fires and alarms blared, as the ship began to stall, the ship drifted through the air, before splashing down into the water west of the city. Tails again swung around to the middle ship, where Robotnik was still directing the ever shrinking army. As the machine guns from the Tornado II ripped through the ship, something else flew through the air, lagging behind the surplus of bullets gifted from the plane. Robotnik quickly realized what the black shaped object was. A torpedo whistled through the air, and slammed into the ship, piercing the hull and quickly exploding. With hardly any time to spare, Robotnik hopped into the Egg Mobile-H, and flew out of the burning ship. The third was also quickly destroyed by Tails, and with Sonic finished up on the ground, the team had won a decisive victory over Robotnik once again. As he flew away, Eggman had one final word to Sonic. "Soon I will come back even stronger! Next time, there will be no chance for you to defeat me!"
With Robotnik defeated, Sonic, Tails, and Knuckles had time to meet up on the ground. "Great Work Sonic!" Tails said happily. "Hey, its just another day in the office for me. But you were great little buddy." Sonic replied, giving Tails a pat on the back. Sonic then paused, as if lost in thought, and then said, "You know, one of these times, Eggman is actually going to come with a decent army, so we should prepare by getting the chaos emeralds." Tails replied, "Well, we have five of them, and Knuckles has the other two, right?" "Um...about that..." Knuckles said in a distraught tone. "Oh boy, what did you do this time?" Sonic questioned. "Well...you see..." Knuckles replied, stammering, "I had them on Angel Island...and then...well...the yellow one chaos controlled...and it may or may not have opened a portal to another dimension...so..." "Wait, you lost them through a portal?!" Tails replied, stunned. Knuckles only nodded his head in response. Sonic sighed, "Well, it looks like you're gonna go find them Tails." "Wait, why me?" Tails asked. "Well, you are the smartest out of all of us. Here" Sonic said, handing him the red and green emerald. "You take these to that dimension and find the other two. Once you find them, come back, and we'll be all set." Tails nodded and sighed, "Okay..." Holding up the red emerald, he yelled, "Chaos control!" The portal opened, and with a wave goodbye, he jumped into the portal.
