Five years later…

Commander Jacelquin Briggs sat in her apartment. Earth Realm had been at peace for a few years now. They hadn't even heard a peep from Outworld. She had a bad feeling that was about to change.

Takeda entered the living room. They were no longer living on the base but in an apartment in San Francisco. "Everything okay, babe?" Takeda asked.

"Yes," Jacqui said. "But that's the problem. Everything is just going too perfectly. Kano is still at large, but we haven't heard from him or the rest of the Black Dragon gang. Even Outworld hasn't tried another invasion. Things are just too perfect."

"You might be right," Takeda said. "But there's nothing we can do now. If it makes you feel better, I'll talk to Raiden about potential threats when I visit his temple tomorrow."

"That would make me feel better," Jacqui said.

"In the meantime," Takeda said. He took a seat beside his girlfriend. "While we wait for the next big threat…"

"If this is yet another segway into marriage talk," Jacqui said.

"I know you said you don't know if you're ready, but now might be a perfect time," Takeda said.

"Aren't we basically already married?" Jacqui asked. "We live together, we're number one on each other's emergency contacts, and we're in love. Marriage would just further complicate things."

"We've fought a corrupt Elder God," Takeda argued. "How much more complicated can things be?"

Jacqui let out an exhausted sigh. Takeda had been bugging her about marriage for about two and a half years now. He had even got as far as getting her father's blessing. "Look, I'll think about it some more," Jacqui said.

"Okay," Takeda said. He pressed a kiss into the center of her forehead. "Have you told the others yet?"

They had founded out Jacqui was pregnant a few days ago. She was three months along. She was putting off telling her dad. They had already decided that they were going to keep it. "Not yet," Jacqui said. "I want you to be there when I do."

"Are we going to tell Kung Jin tonight when we meet for dinner?" Takeda asked. "And Asuka if he ends up coming?"

The group hadn't officially broken up, but they rarely met up. With the lack of threats towards Earth Realm, they no longer saw each other daily. Their team was still an official group on the Special Forces, and the group still hung out when they could. Takeda even set Kung Jin up with his current boyfriend, Asuka Goto.

"I might," Jacqui said.

"You know Kung Jin won't care," Takeda said. "He'll probably just make some dumb jokes."

"You're right," Jackie sighed. She rested her head on his shoulder. "I love you."

"I love you, too," Takeda said.

General Sonya Blade sat in her office. She was the last one of the original combinations to still be with the Special Forces. Johnny had moved back to his place in Hollywood. They still visited each other, but Sonya didn't want to retire. Hanzo's advice always played in her head, but then she remembered all of the things Kano had done to her. She'll never forget how he killed her partner in front of her. What he did to her daughter was the last straw. She'll never forget what it was like having to identify her mutilated corpse.

'I can't retire yet,' Sonya thought. General Swann entered the room.

"I have a mission for you," General Swann said./p

"I requested this weekend off," Sonya said. She was going to visit with Johnny again. They hadn't seen each other in a few months. She was looking forward to taking a break. She had spent the last weeks training new recruits.

"You're going to want to be a part of this," General Swann said. "They found the new Black Dragon camp."
