Chapter 4: Amy + Strange Creature Time
"So, uh, what exactly are you?"
Amy asked the strange creature after the initial shock had worn off. She brought it inside just to make sure it didn't have any horrible injuries. Now it is probably not a good idea to bring an unknown being inside your house, but this is Amy. She just wants to help it out if it needed it.
"I'm not quite sure what I am."
Amy was unsure how this creature could speak, but it was best not to question it.
"Oh, that was quite rude of me to ask."
"Why is that?"
"I'm already asking you personal questions without even introducing myself first. My name is Amy Rose. Do you have one?"
The creature pondered for a moment. "All I can think of for a 'name' is a random assortment of alphanumeric characters. Quite illogical to be used as a name."
"Hmm, why don't I come up with a name for you. Oh! Why not Mauve? You are quite purple."
"How does mauve and purple relate to each other?"
"Well in French, purple is mauve. I tried taking some French classes, but I didn't get too far. Learning a language is difficult."
The creature, now known as Mauve, responds "I have no idea what a language is."
"Well, in the best way I can explain it, people in different parts of the world use different words to describe the same object. The way they structure their sentences also differs between languages."
"It seems more complicated than that."
"Yeah, I'm not a language expert or anything. Let's just talk about something else so I don't give you misinformation."
Mauve was a bit disappointed. They wanted to learn more about this 'language' concept.
"So, do you have any sources of great power on this planet?"
Amy hesitated for a moment. Should she really mention it to him? "Well…"
Sonic and Tails searched around Station Square for the creature. Eggman (who didn't enter the city for the fear of scaring away the townsfolk or potentially being captured) gave the two some pointers on what to do.
"You must not ask anyone about this creature," ordered Eggman before they entered the city.
"Why's that?" asked Tails, "Wouldn't it be easier to find the creature if we asked people if they've seen it?"
"The problem with that is mass hysteria if people find out that an alien is invading. During the Black Doom Invasion, just mentioning it to people would cause them to go insane. We don't want that scenario to happen again."
"Good point."
The two friends, without any lead on the whereabouts of the creature, pointlessly search the Downtown area of Station Square to no avail.
"How will we ever find this creature if we can't ask anyone about it," wondered Tails.
"Don't worry buddy," Sonic perked up, "There might be someone we could ask."
"The Chaotix Detective Agency?"
"No, no. Someone else."
The duo arrive at the front of an apartment and proceed to give a short knock to the worn door. The one who opened the door was a pink hedgehog wearing a red dress.
"Oh Sonic!" squealed Amy, "What brings you here?"
"Sorry to bother you Ames, but we just want to ask if you've seen a purple blob about this height?" responded Sonic.
"Yes, I have actually."
Sonic and Tails glanced at each other and smirked. "Well, if you would be so kind, we would like for it to come with us."
"Oh," She laughed nervously, "About that. He just left a few minutes ago."
"WHAT!" yelled Tails, "Where did it go?"
"Mauve said that it wanted to look for the Chaos Emeralds. Uh…whoops! I shouldn't have told it about those."
Sonic rudely shut the door in Amy's face.
"Bad news Eggman, that creature is going after the Chaos Emeralds!
