"Mind if I join you?" I asked out of pure desperation. Crossing my fingers, toes and butt. Hoping she would say yes. If she said no, I was screwed. She paused for a few long seconds. She leaned back and smiled. I thought for sure she was going to say no.

"I do not see why not." She answered finally.

"Ok. I'll… Just bring my chair over…" I said awkwardly.

I breathed a sigh of relief. She said yes. Now it was time for me to shine.

I dragged my chair over to her table. I received a few looks and glares and stares but I didn't care. I was just so happy she said yes.

"Hello again." She greeted politely as I sat down.

"Hi." I replied.

"Are you always this awkward around women?" She asked incredulously.

"Awkward around women?" I laughed nervously. I didn't know how to answer that.

"Well…." I started. I had no idea how to continue. Luckily, she answered for me.

"That answers that question." She answered quietly and smiled at me.

She left me speechless.

"Hm. I see you have nothing left to say to me?" She asked.

This was not going well. Then I realised she didn't even know my name.

"I think we got off on the wrong foot." I began.

"Got off on the wrong… Foot?" She asked. Weirded out about what I just said.

"Um.. You know… The saying?" This was getting worse by the second.

"Oh! It's an expression!" She finally realised.

I frowned at her. Confused.

"Anyways. As I was saying. We got off on the wrong foot. I'm Tony." I said finally.

She smiled. "Ziva." She answered back. She put her hand out and I shook it.

"Well Ziva… That's a nice name." Those words tumbled out of my mouth as if there were no tomorrow.

"In Hebrew, it means brilliance." She explained.

"You're Israeli?" I asked. Hoping to sound like I didn't know to begin with.

"Very good! The way you made that connection. Hebrew to Israeli!" She applauded me. For getting something right for once.

I opened my mouth to talk but she interrupted me.

"But why do I get the feeling that you already knew that?" She asked suspiciously.

'I'm so screwed' I thought. Now I knew why Jenny made me go as myself.

"Well. I've been looking around. Hoping to find someone that… you know… and I came across you." I said not even half plausibly.

"Hmm. The truth." She demanded.

"Ok. My name is Anthony DiNozzo. I'm an NCIS Senior Field Agent. I have the resources to do things like this. I have been looking for a very long time. I was browsing and doing my research and then I found you. I've been looking for someone like you for a very long time." I said. Hoping that was more believable.

To my relief, she seemed satisfied with my answer. However it looked like she still had questions.

"You browse the internet to find women?"

"Well… Yeah. The dating apps just weren't working for me."

"I see. Well. Might I introduce myself to you?" She seemed keen on getting to know me and se scensed that I felt the same.

"Sure."

"Well. My name is Ziva. I work for the Israeli Mossad. I am here in Washington on a visa. I did some research and I am considering staying here. I came here to try out the fine dining because I had heard it is extraordinary." She explained.

"You're here in D.C alone?" I kind of felt bad for her. You can't travel around Washington D.C alone. It's just not at great.

"Yes. Everyone I wanted to bring with me was busy. I decided to go by myself."

"Well. Madame Ziva. Might I be your tour guide?" I felt awkward asking that. But Ziva didn't seem to think so.

"Hmm. Charming. However, maybe we should order our food first. Yes?"

"Of course."

We ordered our food and it came twenty minutes later. The food was so great. Ziva stared at me. Appalled by how much an American could eat.

"I'm a meat and a potatoes kind of guy." I explained.

When we were done, we left a tip on the table and paid for our food.

We had a long stroll around the city and we walked slowly and talked. I can't remember how, but a few hours after our walk, I found Ziva sleeping next to me. Wearing nothing but a bra and panties. In my bed…
