Leonard and Sheldon meet their new neighbour, a blonde haired lady called Bernadette. Part 4, isolation.

##################################

Monday night, Sheldon and Bernadette came home from the lecture. They both entered 4A together.

"Welcome back you two, how was the lecture?"

"Sheldon gave him a hard time in the Q and A at the end, but Dr. Tyson was up to the task."

"These so called popular scientists have to get their facts straight, but I think he has dealt with the likes of me before."

"Thank you for taking me Sheldon, even this mere biologist got something out of it. I need to leave soon, another early shift tomorrow but I want to speak to the two of you together. I am glad to have made such good friends in you two but I want to let you know that I am not looking out for a new boyfriend just yet. Who knows what might happen in the future but in the mean time no more attempts at dates Dr. Hofstadter. OK gentlemen?"

Bernadette gave them both a hug and said goodnight before leaving 4A.

Bernadette continued her friendship with her neighbours, she found it useful to talk about Ph.D stuff with professional scientists. She would sometimes do things with Sheldon or Leonard individually but usually she would do things with the two of them. Every Thursday evening Leonard and Sheldon would eat at The Cheesecake Factory and Bernadette would serve them, she would get a big tip from her friends.

Then one Thursday at The Cheesecake Factory

"Good evening, welcome to The Cheesecake Factory, my name is Penny, a table for two?"

Leonard "Good evening Penny, where is Bernadette, she normally serves us on a Thursday night."

Penny "She is in the hospital, some problem with her work at her university."

Sheldon "Please excuse us Penny" and the two of them ran out of the restaurant.

One hour later they arrived at the USC hospital, Bernadette was in the isolation ward. She spoke to her friends through a window.

"Thank you for coming, it's very sweet of you. Don't worry, they are just keeping me in for observation. A flask of nasty bacteria broke in the lab this afternoon, if I had really been exposed to the bacteria I would be dead by now. I should be released tomorrow after they have checked me out."
