Hey everybird! What's up!?

Hope you're enjoying the story so far, pretty much nothing to really say, so lets just continue with the next chapter!

Chapter 4: First Night

It was late in the evening as the sun started to go down over the horizon, the sky a bright orange as Sapphire was in her hollow she lived in with her family, preparing for the night out she promised Eduardo.

"I still can't believe you agreed to go out with him…" Another bird told Sapphire as the bird in question was looking at herself in the reflection of a small storage of water.

"Isabella, girls, we talked about this." Sapphire replied. "If it wasn't for him, I probably would be in the healer's hollow right now, what Eduardo did was far less bad than what Mateo was doing."

"And how do you know those two didn't put an act together, so Eduardo could get you?" Another of Sapphire's friends pointed out as that thought did in fact cross Sapphire's mind, but no, the way those boys acted, it was clear they weren't putting on a show.

"I just know that didn't happen, I have no proof, only my feeling, Rose." Sapphire told her friend as she put the final touches on herself. "Girls, I know you're concerned, but don't worry, I can take care of myself." Sapphire reminded her friends as the flapping of wings could be heard as Sapphire and her friends turned to the hollow's entrance.

"We know that sweetie, but still…" One of the arrivals, an adult male spoke as he, along with an adult female, entered on in.

"Girls, go outside, we need to talk to our daughter alone." The adult female, Sapphire's mother, requested as Sapphire's friends left to leave the family alone.

"What is it mom and dad?" Sapphire asked.

"Sweetie, are you sure it's a good idea to go out with Eduardo?" Sapphire's father asked.

"Would you rather have me go out with Mateo?" Sapphire raised an eye.

"What your father means sweetie, is that we have no problem of you dating Eduardo, if he wasn't the tribe leader's son." Sapphire's mother rephrased her mate's question.

"I thought you would be excited…" Sapphire confused. "Think of all the privileges and special relations you would have…"

"We did think of that sweetie, but the reason we're worried is you…" Sapphire's father interrupted. "When you grow up and Eduardo takes his father's place, what's to say he will give you the amount of attention you deserve, will you truly be happy?"

Sapphire knew her parents had a point and were thinking what was best for her, but if she was going to be an independent bird one day, she needed to make tough choices by herself. Plus they were being a little paranoid, this was just a first date and well there was the chance she would't end up with him, if she decided he wasn't the one.

"Mom, dad, I know you're looking out for me, but it is my decision and quite frankly, maybe nothing will spark between us, this is just one night out with him." Sapphire calmed her parent's concerns. "Now I should get going, I promise Eduardo I would meet him very soon."

"Alright sweetie, I guess we have to let you go…" Sapphire's father sighed as his daughter came up and hugged her parents and gave them each a kiss on the cheek.

"Don't worry dad, I'll always be your little girl." Sapphire smiled as she then let the two go and walked out of the hollow entrance, passing by her friends before taking off into the sky, headed for where she told Eduardo to meet her.

Meanwhile, Eduardo was also preparing at the same time Sapphire was, currently looking at his own reflection in some water, making sure he looked presentable. His mother and father were still out for the day, but well Mimi was here and of course messing around with her brother.

"Still can't believe you have a night out with Sapphire." Mimi repeated for like the tenth time. "I really thought she would reject you, even after spying on her."

"Well what can I say sis, I guess I'm lucky." Eduardo replied as he finished up and turned around to look at his sister. "So how do I look?"

"Like a dork…" Mimi rolled her eyes as Eduardo knew she was just saying that to annoy him.

"Very funny…" Eduardo replied as he took a deep breath and turned to go to the hollow's entrance, once he took off, there was no going back… "Well here I go…" Eduardo stretched out his wings and took off, not wasting any time as Mimi stepped out of the hollow and called out…

"Try not to mess it up!" Mimi shouted after her brother as Eduardo rolled his eyes and flew as fast as he could to the waterfall where he was supposed to meet Sapphire, eventually hearing the sound of the water.

"I hope she hasn't been waiting too long if she's there." Eduardo said as the waterfall soon enough came into view and he saw Sapphire there, looking like she wasn't waiting too long as Eduardo slowed down and settled down in front of her. "Sorry if I kept you waiting, you know… Had to fix myself up a little."

"No, it's okay, I got here just a few moments before you did, would have gotten here a little sooner myself if I haven't been delayed by my parents." Sapphire replied.

"So, nice day we're having…" Eduardo began, not knowing what else to say.

"Yes, it is." Sapphire replied.

"A little hot." Eduardo commented as he started to sweat, although it wasn't just from the heat. "How about we take a little dip, cool off." Eduardo suggested as he got into the low running stream, which did cover the bottom half of his body.

"I don't know, I rather keep my feathers dry and… Ahhh!" Sapphire shouted as Eduardo splashed some water on the girl.

"Sorry, did I get you wet?" Eduardo teased as he was getting into the swing of things.

"Oh, so that's how it's going to be." Sapphire shot back as with her wings, she splashed more water onto Eduardo as Eduardo tried to cover his face with his wings, but it was too late and his face got drenched.

"That's it…" Eduardo said as he got right next to Sapphire, while still in the water, the girl confused as to what he was going to do, that is until he quickly grabbed hold of Sapphire's wing and pulled her into the water, soaking both of them even more as Sapphire's body created a huge splash. "Serves you right." Eduardo smiled as Sapphire just proceeded to throw more water onto Eduardo's face as the two soon engaged in a water fight.

After a few minutes, the two settled down, calming themselves as their hearts were beating really fast as Eduardo stared at Sapphire, taking in her beauty as this time it wasn't going to be weird.

"How is it you can still look beautiful like that?" Eduardo asked.

"That's a little cliche don't you think?" Sapphire chuckled.

"Maybe a little…" Eduardo blushed as suddenly the two heard the nearby rustle of the jungle foliage and listening more closely, the two could make out several voices, of which Sapphire immediately recognized them.

"Girls, what did I say?" Sapphire called out loudly as in an instant the two could see several teenage girls shoot out of the jungle foliage and fly away, having been caught.

"Guess they took an idea from me." Eduardo said as he watched them fly off.

"Sorry about my friends, they think it wasn't such a good idea for me to come out and have a night with you." Sapphire apologized.

"I don't blame them." Eduardo replied. "Again, I'm sorry for spying, didn't realize it was going to be this easy to talk to you."

"Well, I guess with my friends doing the same to us, we're really even." Sapphire made light of it as the two were still in the water as Sapphire felt her stomach groan. "I could use some food."

"Yeah, me too." Eduardo agreed. "How about you dry off and I'll go get it." Eduardo suggested.

"Sounds good." Sapphire said as the two got out of the water and shook themselves dry a little first as Eduardo took off to the nearest food tree, finding one full of Brazil nuts as Sapphire waited patiently, making sure she was as dry as possible.

Once Eduardo returned, he had a bunch of nuts, giving half of it to Sapphire as the two ate and talked about their lives and family and when they finished, helping each other to clean their beaks, they decided to enjoy the night sky. By now the sun has gone down completely over the horizon and the moon stars replaced it, creating a wonderful display as always as Eduardo and Sapphire settled down onto a branch a tall tree to enjoy the scenery.

"You know, it's always the same view, but it never gets boring." Eduardo commented.

"Yeah…" Sapphire agreed as she felt the cool wind rush through her feathers. "But it is a little chilly." Sapphire shook as Eduardo saw this and without a second thought, he wrapped his wing around her and brought her closer to him so they could share their body heat.

"Better?" Eduardo asked.

"Yeah, it is, thanks." Sapphire replied as she did begin to feel warmer thanks to Eduardo as she couldn't help but keep on looking into Eduardo's eyes.

"Now who's staring?" Eduardo joked as Sapphire had to chuckle back as Eduardo locked eyes with her. "You truly are a beauty Sapphire." Eduardo said as he pulled his face closer to Sapphire as Sapphire herself knew what Eduardo was doing, but well, she didn't mind, actually part of her wanted it as she found herself pulling her beak closer to his…

"Oh gosh… This is really happening…" Sapphire said inside her head as the two locked beaks together, their eyes closed as they let their hearts and passion speak for themselves now and stayed like that for who knows how long as this was truly a wonderful first night of many to come.

And I'll leave it there!
