Chapter 3:
When Lily walked back into Ginny's compartment she said, "Sorry guys, they just wanted to talk with me." Everyone nodded and Harry asked, "What did Malfoy want?" Lily looked over to Harry "He just wanted to ask what blood status I am." Harry mumbled, "What the heck Malfoy." Hermione said, "Guys we are almost at Hogwarts we should get our uniforms on." So Lily got her uniform on in the bathroom and as soon as she was done she heard Hagrid shout, "First years! Follow me please!" Lily followed Ginny and Luna to Hagrid and the other first-year students. They got into boats and were taken to the docks. Lily looked all around her and gasped when she saw the castle, "Wow!" Then a stern woman led them to an empty classroom and said, "Welcome to Hogwarts! My name is Professor McGonagall Deputy Headmistress. Before you join the feast you must be sorted into your house. There are four houses at Hogwarts, Gryffindor, Hufflepuff, Ravenclaw, and Slytherin. Please wait until I come back to bring you to the feast." Professor McGonagall left the room. One boy asked, "Who sorts us into our houses?" One girl says, "Who knows?" Then Professor McGonagall came back into the room and said, "Alright please stand in a straight line and follow me." The first years follow Professor McGonagall into the Great Hall and stop at the high table where the teachers and staff sit. Then the sorting hat sings his song and Professor McGonagall says, "When I call your name please come up and place the sorting hat on your head. Luna Lovegood!" Sorting Hat yells, "Ravenclaw!" McGonagall said, "Ginny Weasley!" Sorting Hat yells, "Gryffindor!" and finally McGonagall says, "Lily Ravenclaw!" Sorting Hat says to Lily, "Ah Ms. Riddle I see you are very much like your mother. But have lots more from your father. I will put you in… Slytherin!" Lily looks at Ginny and she mouths, "How are you in Slytherin? I thought your last name was Ravenclaw?" Lily looks at the Ravenclaw table and gets the same response. So Lily walks over to the Slytherin table and Draco, Blaise, Theodore, Pansy, and Daphne all hug her and pat Lily on the shoulder. Lily sits next to Pansy, Daphne, Blaise, Theodore, and Draco and says, "Just use my real last name when we are in the common room and dorms. Use my mother's last name in class and in the great hall." Theodore nods, "You are Slytherin royalty." Lily blushes, "I know but you can't say that here they might hear." Pansy said, "I agree we should be quieter about this."
Over at the Gryffindor table: Ginny says, "Guys is there something she didn't tell us?" Harry looks over, "Um… I think she forgot to tell us the name of her father." Ron scratches his head "Oh look she looks really happy over at the Slytherin table." They look over and see Lily laughing with Pansy and Daphne. Hermione mutters, "That cow is so annoying," Ginny says, "Hermione stop! She is probably just trying to make friends, ok." Harry sighs, "Ginny, Slytherins are evil, once someone gets sorted into Slytherin they turn evil. She is not our friend anymore."
