Preface: Hello, again! We're moving right along with this story, are we? This chapter is set after Chapter 41 of Minecraft Maniacs RPG, so feel free to read that first! Before we start this chapter, a couple of things to note: one, I checked the data, and apparently, most of you guys reading this story are from the US, like I am! And to think Bluey is more of a niche internationally instead of being a cultural icon like it is in Australia, where rather few of you are from. And two, this chapter has a bit of shipping in it, so if shipping is a trigger for you, especially considering the age range of the cast, you may want to skip this chapter. But if not...
"Finawwy! It's my tuwn! This chapter is aww about my dweam! You better wove it!"
Yeah, Muffin's still excited about her dream being the focus this time. Enjoy the chapter!
This fanfiction of Bluey is called:
"Blue Dreams"
Previously...as shown in Chapter 36 of Minecraft Maniacs RPG, Bluey, Bingo, Muffin, and Socks received special headphones created by Kevin, which allow them to enter preset dreams. So far, the four have done the dancers dream following Bluey and Bingo's first adventure in the Corruption, as well as the magic beach dream after Bluey and Bingo explored the Cursed Caverns.
Now...Muffin and Socks await their cousins, following Chapter 41...
Roll Call
Bluey Heeler: Six-year-old blue heeler. Loves to play.
Bingo Heeler: Bluey's little sister. Slightly more sensitive.
Muffin Heeler: Somewhat bratty little cousin. Has a hidden heart of gold.
Socks Heeler: Muffin's baby sister. Acts like a real-life dog.
Chapter 3:
Band
[Party Selected: Bluey, Bingo, Muffin, Socks
[Current World: Dream-a-tron World]
[Current Location: Hub Area]
[BGM: Asu01 - Dreaming Away]
Muffin stared at the portal leading to the band stage. After a few nights, it was finally her turn. But she remembered what happened that one night. She didn't want it to happen again. So she just sat there with Socks, hoping Bluey and Bingo could come soon.
Finally, after what felt like an eternity, her cousins popped into existence. "Finnawy, you'we hewe!" Muffin said, standing up. "Why did you take so wong?"
Bluey dusted herself off. "We're sorry, Muffin," she said. "We had a bit of trouble falling asleep tonight."
"Yeah! We explored a haunted temple in the bush!" added Bingo. She smiled. "But it was fun, even with how scary it was."
Muffin nodded. "I weawwy hope you can share your adventuwes with me one day," she said. Her eyes turned to the portal to the stage. "But tonight's my tuwn, wemembew?"
Bluey and Bingo chuckled. "Of course we remember!" said the blue heeler. "Let's not waste another second!"
"Are you sure you want to go last, Bluey?" Bingo asked.
Bluey nodded. "Yeah, it's fine. Muffin can go before me."
"YAAAAASSSS!" Muffin hollered. "HERE I COME, GUITAAAAAARRRR!" Excitedly, she ran into the portal, Socks instinctively following her.
Bingo giggled. "Come on, Bluey! Let's go!" she said, taking her sister's hand. The two followed their cousins into the portal, eager to start.
[Location Change: Band Dream]
[BGM: Asu01 - Minuet]
The four found themselves on the stage depicted in the portal, which was decorated with sparkling blue curtains, pineapples, and poinciana leaves. It opened up to the empty fields of New Farm Park at night. "This is the Band Dream!" echoed Kevin's voice. "This dream is set in the world you're from, so you can connect with the dreams of other people here, whether you choose to participate in being in a band or not! Check the back of the stage for instruments!"
Bluey looked around. "Wow! Another full stage all to ourselves!" she said. "Wasn't Dad's voice actor in a band once?"
"Um, yeah, I think so," said Bingo. "I think I once heard Mr. Pearson listening to one of his songs!"
"That's ouw fiwst song!" said Muffin. "Let's get some instwements!"
The three walking heelers shouted "Hooray!" as Socks howled. They all ran backstage to see what instruments they could find. And boy, did they find a lot! Guitars, percussion, strings, horns, maracas, tambourines, harmonicas...even an accordion! "It's like a museum of music!" Bluey shouted, her tail wagging repeatedly.
Muffin looked through the guitars. Acoustics, basses, and multi-necks of all shapes and sizes flew over everyone's heads until she found a lime green sharp-edged electric. "Infwatabwe guitaw!" she shouted, strumming it.
Bingo looked over by the drums. "Bluey, look!" she said, taking out a pair of wooden percussion instruments. "Bongos!"
"And this piano looks like my toy one!" Bluey added, standing in front of a purple piano with a microphone attached to it. "I think we're all ready!"
The four walked back to the front of the stage, Socks taking her place in front of it. "Now all we need is an audience!" said Bingo. The group suddenly heard a loud rumble, which Socks began to bark at.
"Was that a motorbike?" Bluey asked looking around. Looking towards the road, she saw a red kelpie climb off of a white motorcycle, before taking off his helmet. It was none other than her friend Rusty.
"Hey, Bluey!" Rusty called, walking over to the stage. "What are you doing on this stage?"
"We're gonna play a song!" Bluey called over to her friend. "Do you want to be our audience?"
"Audience?" came a voice from the nearby lake. Two more of Bluey's friends, Chloe and Indy, popped their heads out of it, currently transformed into mermaids. They climbed onto the grass, took off the crowns that they were wearing, and Chloe's pearl necklace vanished as her blue tail turned back into her legs, as well as Indy's rainbow bikini top's threads reverting to her usual vest and necklace.
"Hey, Chloe! Indy!" Bingo called over. "Do you want to be our audience, too!"
Indy's rainbow-colored tail reverted to her usual legs and Chloe helped her up. "I guess so," she said, walking over the two joined Rusty and Socks in front of the stage and sat down.
Muffin grimaced at her guitar. She stuck her hand out, ready to strum it...and nothing came out. "Hey! This guitaw is bwoken!" she shouted, and raised the guitar to smash it in anger.
"Whoa! Muffin!" Bluey shouted, running over. "It's just not plugged in!" She walked over to an amp and plugged the guitar into it before giving it a good strum. This time, a delightful A-chord came out. "There we go!"
[BGM: Custard - Pinball Lez]
"Thanks, Bwuey!" said Muffin. Bluey walked back over to her piano, and Bingo began to bang her bongos. Then, Muffin tried her guitar again, and a rocking melody came out. Bluey completed the tune with her piano keys, making a beautiful symphony.
Rusty took Indy's hand and swayed in his seat. "Hey! I like it!" he said, his tail wagging to the beat.
Chloe's legs started moving. "Yeah! I can just dance to it!" The dalmatian got up from her seat and started to shake along to the music. Seeing her dance, Socks got up as well and began to jump around, barking with the music.
"Hey! They like us!" said Bingo, wagging her tail in tune with her bongo-playing.
Seeing Indy and Rusty starting to dance along, Muffin got a bit of a swelled head. Suddenly, she started to play her guitar more profusely. Bingo slowly stopped playing her bongos, as did Bluey with her piano. What was once a lovely performance of Custard's 'Pinball Lez' became a wailing guitar solo as Muffin bounced across the stage before flopping on her back and shouting into the night.
[BGM: End]
The audience members froze, the hair on Indy's ears sticking back from shock. Muffin slowly opened her eyes and frowned. "S-Sowwy, evewyone," she said, softly. "I guess you guys awen't weady fow that yet."
"But who knows?" said Bluey. "Maybe your kids will love it!"
Indy began to fix her braids. "Even so…" she said, "I think I want to play with you guys now!"
"Yeah! I wouldn't mind playing, either!" added Chloe, her tail wagging.
Bluey smiled. "Thanks, guys," she said, happily. "But I think we're gonna need more kids!" She looked at the nearby jacaranda tree and got an idea. Her arms started to flap, she began to fly. Dangling her legs on the branch, Bluey put her hands to her mouth and shouted "Cra-kiki-cow! Cra-kiki-cow!"
"Bwuey!" Muffin shouted, confused. "What awe you doing?"
"This is my fruit bat call!" Bluey shouted back. She continued to shout, "Cra-kiki-cow! Cra-kiki-cow!" Suddenly, the earth began to shake. Everyone lost their footing and fell to the ground, including Bluey. Over in the distance, a humongous herd of sheep ran up the hill, and riding on the front two were a border collie and a beagle, both holding toy swords.
"Bluey, what was that sound we just heard?" Mackenzie asked, gripping his sword. "We just heard a strange holler."
Bluey regained her footing. "Oh, that was just me," she said, dusting herself off. "I was trying to get more kids to be in my band!"
Honey got off of her sheep. "Well, Mackenzie and I were gonna lead our troops into battle," she said, adjusting her glasses, "but I think we can find time! The Terriers might even be caught off-guard if they're bored!"
"Okay, troops! Fall back!" Mackenzie said, pushing his hands back. The sheep walked backwards down the hill.
Bluey scratched her head. "Why sheep?" she asked.
"Border collies are sheep herders!" said Mackenzie. "In fact, my dad's a sheep herder!"
Bingo sighed, sadly, drawing Muffin's attention. "What's wwong, Bingo?" she asked, concerned.
"I'm just sad that only Bluey's friends are showing up," said Bingo, rubbing her arm. "I don't really have many friends of my own." Suddenly, everyone heard a small strumming in the distance.
"Does anyone else hear that?" asked Rusty. Everyone turned their heads to find the source of the sound. Eventually, they saw a jack russell terrier walking along the river. A maltese strumming a ukulele beside him. "Hey, Jack!" Rusty called, waving. "Over here!"
Jack looked over and gasped. "Rusty!" he shouted, running over to his friend. "What are you doing here?"
"We were gonna join Bluey in her band," explained Chloe. She glanced over at the maltese. "Why were you with that kid over there?"
The maltese sighed. "He heard my playing and started following me," she said. She stared at her tiny guitar. "I'm not sure it's that good."
Bingo walked off the stage and to her newfound best friend. "No, I thought it sounded lovely, Lila," she said, taking Lila's hand. "Do you want to join, too?"
Lila froze. "I don't know," she said. "There are a lot of people here."
Bingo put her hands on Lila's shoulders. "Don't worry, I'll be here with you." Both of their tails began to wag as they started to blush.
Indy walked over. "So, Bingo. Is your new friend joining us?"
Bingo chuckled. "Yeah, my new friend is joining us." Indy found the emphasis on 'friend' a little odd, but she brushed it off.
The kids all walked up on stage and began to pick out their instruments. "So, what are we going to play?" Bluey asked, swapping her piano out for a green keytar that also resembled a toy she had.
Mackenzie looked over from his drum set. "Any ideas?" he asked, spinning his drum sticks.
"How about something classical?" Rusty suggested, blowing into his trumpet.
"Or maybe something tropical?" Indy suggested, as she shook her maracas.
"She's been really interested in Hawaii recently," Chloe whispered to the fourth wall as she banged her own bongos.
Jack thought, plugging in his bass guitar. "My dad likes to play songs from the 1980s," he said. "Maybe we can try one of those?"
"Yes! That's brilliant!" said Bluey, clapping her hands. She looked at her fur. "Maybe something with a joke about how I'm blue?" she suggested with a giggle.
That sparked a thought in Jack. "Yes! That's what I'm thinking of! Mr. Blue Sky!"
"I'm a girl."
"No! No! That's the name of the song!"
Honey nodded. "'Mr. Blue Sky'," she repeated. "Yeah, I think I know that song!"
[BGM: Electric Light Orchestra - Mr. Blue Sky - 2012 Version]
"Yeah, let's play it!" said Bingo, preparing the accordion she was now playing. She started to squeeze it and began playing, followed by Lila on her ukulele, and then Honey started playing the melodica she had. Before long, the kids had started playing the song in a wonderful arrangement. Socks banged a fire extinguisher in time with the original song, and Indy and Chloe's playing added a new flavor to the song. Even Muffin's guitar wailing seemed to add a new feeling to it! It sure was too bad that no one could record it, because quite frankly, I think both the Electric Light Orchestra and even Joff Bush himself would be proud!
Eventually, the kids finished playing the instrumental outro, which Muffin led to another guitar solo. "YEAH!" she hollered. "THAT WAS AMAZING!"
"Yeah, we were amazing out there!" said Jack. He looked at his fingers. "I'm glad I remembered the notes, though!"
Rusty patted the terrier on the back. "See? You can remember things fine!"
[BGM: Asu01 - Campsite Morning]
Lila sighed, happy that it was over. She set down her ukulele and took Bingo's hand. "That was fun," she said. "I hope we can do it again sometime."
Bingo blushed. "Yeah, me too." The two walked back behind the curtain for a little bit of privacy.
Chloe and Indy pulled Bluey in for a hug. "You two sounded amazing!" said Bluey, her tail wagging. "I'm glad you're my best friends!"
"Me too," said Chloe. And then she and Indy surprised Bluey by kissing her on the cheek, stunning the blue heeler. "Oh, sorry!" said Chloe, backing away. "We just like doing that to each other now."
Bluey shook her head. "But doesn't smoochy kissing mean you love someone?" she asked.
Indy rubbed the back of her head. "Well, yeah, but we can love you as friends and still kiss you, I think," she said. "We learned that while we were mermaids just now."
"Oh, Bingo, my cousins, and I had a dream where we were mermaids last night!" said Bluey. "We fought a giant octopus named Ooooooooooo-Shooby-Doowah." She wanted to make sure she didn't have to pay Muffin again.
Muffin crossed her arms and smirked. "Nice save," she said, smugly booping Bluey on the nose. "I'ww wet it swide." Suddenly, she heard a weird sound. "Ew! I hear smoochy kissing!"
Honey turned her head. "Where is it coming from?"
Bluey turned around and looked at the silhouettes behind the curtain. They were shaped like Bingo and Lila. And their noses were pushed together. All Bluey could do was smile.
[World Change: ?]
[Location Change: Tent of Rejuvenation]
[BGM: Asu01 - Passing Time]
That last sight was on Bluey's mind when she and Bingo woke up that morning. "Good morning, you two!" their ally Unikitty greeted them.
"Good morning!" Bluey said, feeling refreshed. She took her Dream-a-tron off and looked at Bingo. "So, about you and Lila…"
Bingo froze. "What? What did you hear?" she asked, blushing.
Bluey smiled. "I heard you smoochy kissing…"
"Fine! Fine!" Bingo hissed. "I love her, okay? And not as a friend." She paused. "As...something more…" She covered her face with her hands.
Unikitty raised an eyebrow. "Why's that bad?"
"Because I can't love her that way," Bingo responded, her voice breaking a little.
Bluey just pulled her sister in for a hug. "Of course you can," she said, supportively. "And you'll always be my sister, no matter what."
Bingo's tears welled up as she returned the hug. "Thanks, but I don't want anyone to know," she whispered.
"Don't worry. Your secret's safe with me!"
To be continued...and next time: storytime!
Next chapter: "Kingdom" It's Bluey's turn to pick the dream, and in this one, everyone can tell their own story! Muffin and Bingo have differing ways of telling stories, but they have one thing in common: it's Bluey's quest to become queen! But...is Muffin taking the 'ooga-booga' thing too far?
Postface: "Chapter compwete! Did you wike it? I did! Why? Because it was my dweam! MINE! And Bwuey and her fwiends awe good music pwayers, too! But I hated Bingo smoochy kissing that other giww at the end! Blech! Womance!"
Yeah, as you can see, I'm pretty sure there are gonna be people out there who didn't like the ending. And there are probably a few people who did like it. Either way, I like how this chapter turned out.
Since there isn't much trivia to go around this chapter, I'll instead shed some light on things that may have confused you. Firstly, who are Jack and Lila? I'm sure Disney+ viewers are asking that question, since Season 2 won't be on their until this Friday. Those two are new characters introduced in the first half of the season. I've used Jack before, and he's a jack russell terrier who has ADHD. He appeared in the episode Army and has since made a few cameos! Lila, on the other hand, hasn't been seen since her debut in the episode Daddy Dropoff. Basically, she's a new kid at Bingo's daycare who started off shy, but Bingo helped her get out of her shell and open up. The ending of that episode is actually quite similar to the ending of Camping - including people like myself shipping Bingo and Lila! As for the other kids' dreams, well Rusty's motorcycle is a reference to his description on the official Bluey website, Indy and Chloe's dream was based off of another fantasy story I had in mind (as was Chloe's off-hand Hawaii mention), and Mackenzie and Honey's dream...was just a dumb thought I had. Oh, and for the record, Dave McCormack, who voices Bandit, actually was in the band Custard. They still make music to this day!
That should be it! Please read, review, and share around, and I'll see you all next time for...
"BWUEY'S TUWN! BUT I GET TO DO SOMETHING IN IT, TOO!"
Yes, you do, Muffin. Stay diamond, everyone!
