A/N: Hello readers! I am so sorry but I've had the worst case of writer's block. I was looking on Pinterest this past week and came across some Harry/ Ginny head canons and got this urge to write. It is not Halloween as I Previously intended, but that was the main problem with my block. With that, I hope you all enjoy this chapter. Also, seems I lied in the Proposal— Ginny does appear quite a bit… but then again I was originally planning on Harry just asking her brothers, but that was an awful plan. I really need to start planning out this stuff.

Disclaimer: JK Rowling owns all recognized characters, settings, etc, etc, only the plot belongs to me... Happy reading! ;)

I'll Miss You Till We Meet Again (October 27, 2001)

Tap. Tap tap tap.

The lovely barn owl tapped the window irritably, wondering why the wizards inside would not get up to let her in.

Tap tap tap.

A little more irritated now.

Tap tap TAP TAP TAPTAPATAPTAP CRASH!

The black-feathered one with some glinty thing on his face glanced at her with surprise. The honey-feathered one just kept staring at the opposite wall. The black-feathered one was the recipient, so she dropped the scroll in his lap, before giving the sad human a nuzzle to his neck. He stroked her neck with a lovely gentleness, and she nipped him lightly in return. This rewarded her with a slight curve of his mouth, so she hopped away to the window before flying off. Both wizards stared at her as she flew off, unaware of the impact she had in those few seconds.

Harry looked back at George, who had the ghost of a smile remaining from that visit from the gift that just flew away. Then he looked back out the window and realized just sitting there and talking would not help George today. He unbound his scroll and read it, smiling at the contents. He rose from his chair, holding out a hand towards the lost twin. George was bewildered to say the least, but he took Harry's hand anyways, allowing him to lead him down the stairs and into Diagon Alley. Harry led him to the Leaky Cauldron, before grabbing his elbow and Apparating them away.

Harry and George popped into Hogsmeade, where Professor McGonagall was waiting for them as students streamed past her towards Zonko's, Honeydukes, and the Three Broomsticks.

"How nice it is to see you again Mr. Potter, Mr. Weasley. Mr. Potter, you have two hours in the Forbidden Forest. I trust you know where your lost object is?" Minerva inquired, her brow arching above her spectacles.

"Yes Professor, thank you for allowing us onto the grounds."

She sniffed, as if they were up to mischief, but allowed them to pass by her towards the carriages. George said nothing until they were halfway to the castle.

"Are we going to the forest to fly away? What will my sister do when she hears we have left her—" he closed his mouth, before the attempt at a joke ran through but it was too late. Harry could see him struggling to hold back tears, so he patted his shoulder consolingly, and murmured that he would stay with him.

They left the carriage, and Harry said "point me," then led them off again.

After some time, he could see the abandoned acromantula nest. He then knew he was close enough and said clearly,

"Accio ring!"

Harry sighed in relief as a black object sped towards his hand. He turned to George with a solemnity George had seldom seen, and Harry could tell that George was curious enough. Interest was good, he reminded himself, before telling George,

"I wasn't ready before, I think, but I have been ready for some time. I want you to know that while it is real, it won't last. This is goodbye, any longer here and the others suffer. I do not do this to see you suffer either, so please understand that this is quite possibly the last conversation you have before death."

George was understandably confused with some hope showing, but Harry just gave him the ring and told him to flip it over in his hand thrice.

George gasped, as undoubtedly Fred had most likely appeared.

"Fred," he cried, and he reached out as if to touch something unseen, but his hand fell disappointingly at his side. Harry nodded and left to just beyond the clearing to let George grieve and say farewell to his twin.

An hour later, Harry went back to see George still holding the ring tightly, but he wasn't saying anything. When he caught sight of Harry, he beckoned him saying,

"Fred says that you have something to ask us," he said with surprising calm. Harry nodded, and secretly applauded himself for arranging this, and simultaneously cursing himself for not doing so sooner.

"Yes, George, Fred, it only seemed right for you to have a proper farewell you understand, but in the meantime, it also has coincided with my current goal. I want to ask both of you for your blessing to marry Ginny."

George stared at him for a moment, then looked at seemingly nothing. Harry fiddled with his sleeve while he heard snippets of George's conversation with Fred, looking up occasionally. George called out to him.

"Harry, we both agreed to give you our blessing, and Fred and I want you to know that we pray you don't anger her lest you feel her wrath."

This last part was said with an almost full grin, and Harry nodded, partly in relief and partly in thanks. He heard a broken "goodbye, Freddie," and his heart lurched as he could not comprehend what pain George was currently feeling.

Leaves crunched behind Harry and he looked back to see George making his way towards him, his hand outstretched with the Resurrection Stone. Tears fell down the face of the broken twin as he dropped the stone into Harry's hand, and he mumbled "thank you for the last goodbye," before he was sobbing outright, the fresh pain of not being with his twin overtaking him. Harry wrapped his arms around George in comfort, letting him his time to grieve.

Once George had composed himself, they had walked back out from the forest and Disapparated when they reached Hogsmeade grounds. As soon as they arrived at the Leaky Cauldron, George rushed back into the Alley, presumably to grieve some more in the privacy of his room.

Harry sighed, hoping he was doing right by allowing people to meet their loved ones for another minute more, and Disapparated with a crack.

He stumbled a little from place to place as he gathered Percy, Charlie. Bill, Ron, and Ginny to go to the Burrow at dinner time. He then concentrated on the pond he had once crashed through, where he had wrecked Sirius' motorbike.

He appeared by Andromeda's house instantaneously, stumbling a bit from dizziness. Then he walked up to her back door and knocked.

Andromeda flung the door open wide, and Harry grinned at the frazzled look on her face.

"Oh, Harry! Thank Merlin you're here! Little Edward has been driving me up the wall today! Will you please get him to calm down?"

Harry stepped through the doorway as Andromeda sighed in exhaustion. Shrieks of delight trickled in from the next room, and Harry smiled at the thought of his godson making a mess.

"Before I do, Andromeda, I need you to hold this ring and turn it three times. This will be farewell, you understand," Harry told her, and Andromeda nodded, slightly confused.

She gasped as Harry made his way to the sitting room, and he prayed he was right to allow her this.

Then he saw the next room and he didn't have a thought for prayer. Teddy's uncontrolled magic was making his toys float throughout the room, and Teddy himself was bobbing through the air, his hair turning bright purple and turquoise.

"Uncle Harry!"

Harry looked around the room again.

"... Teddy, what are you doing, you little menace?"

With that gotten out Teddy giggled some more, and Harry play-growled at him and took him out of the air into his arms.

"You know, Nana's pretty tired, so we should probably put this all away, yeah?"

Teddy nodded enthusiastically. Harry drew his wand and the floating toys all zoomed towards the corner basket. Teddy then grabbed Harry's hair and demanded,

"Up!"

Harry lifted him to his shoulders, and waited for his next command.

"Can we go outside and you swing me around and around and around Uncle Harry?"

"Of course, but Nana's busy so we have to go out the side door okay?"

"Yup! Let's go, go, go!" Teddy exclaimed, kicking Harry on each "go!"

Laughing, they went outside where Harry quickly cast a cushioning charm. Then, placing his hands under Teddy's arms, he quickly spun them around and around. After a minute or so, he tripped over his own feet and they went rolling, bouncing a bit upon encountering the cushioning charm. They played like that for a while, until Andromeda came out of the house.

"Little Edward, won't you go inside and wash up? We'll have dinner soon," she called. "Uncle Harry has to go, so say goodbye!"

She choked up a bit at the last part, but composed herself as Teddy ran past.

"Bye Uncle Harry!"

They looked at his small form for a moment, before Andromeda whispered,

"Thank you Harry, for allowing this farewell— I'm thankful, truly, and I think this has helped me make peace with myself. May I ask why you did this after 3 years, though?"

Harry nodded. "I myself wasn't ready to go back to Hogwarts yet, and by the time I was ready, I had completely forgotten about it. Recently, I wanted to get blessings for Ginny's hand from each of her brothers. I only then remembered the stone, I am ashamed to admit, but it only seemed fitting for everyone to say goodbye. After I visit the Weasleys I will hand it to Professor McGonagall for the students and others who visit Hogwarts who lost people in the war."

Andromeda pulled Harry into a hug. "You're such a lovely boy, I'm sure everyone will thank you."

He certainly hoped so.

At six o'clock, Harry was at the Burrow, the Hallow ring in hand. He explained to the family what it would do, while Ron and Hermione looked at him with gratitude for the magnitude of the gift he was giving them. Later, after everyone had gone through their tearful goodbyes, Ron pulled him aside.

"Thank you, mate. I never knew, of course, but I always wondered… thank you for allowing us this last goodbye."

They embraced tightly, letting go only to swipe at their watery eyes.

Ginny walked over to the two of them, Hermione in tow and the four friends cried together and embraced each other in agonized joy, taking comfort in each other's presence.

Whoop! There it is, sorry I took so long. You all probably thought I abandoned this. Truth is, I kinda want to but I told myself I'll see it through… Thanks for reading and I'll see you in the next chapter!
