Nobody wants to answer my question as to which of MHA's opening is the best fit for climactic final battles? Looks like I'll have to decide for myself, then...

Godzilla: Singular Point's interpretation of smaller-scaled monsters is interesting. It definitely allows for better interactions between humans and monsters. Perhaps I can get inspirations from this series if I plan to make a continuation to this story, but again, nothing is final at the moment.

Chapter 4

The King of Skull Island

Team N was traveling alongside a lake. Toru had just told Houston and San what she looks like, but they were still having a hard time wrapping their heads around what they just heard. She told them she looks like a combination of renowned Chinese beauty of ancient times Yan Guifei and European missionary Francis Xavier.

This didn't help those two in envisioning what she looks like at all, and Ochako told them that they weren't the only ones to get confused by such a claim.

Suddenly, something emerge from the lake. They looked and saw that it was a large buffalo with incredibly long horns reaching sideways. Kyoka and Shouto immediately got into fighting stances, ready to use their Quirks against the monster, while the others backed away in shock, especially Houston and San.

The buffalo approached dry ground and in their direction, which only made them more nervous and ready to attack. However, Koji told them to stop, "Wait! Hold up!" He said this as he approached the buffalo.

"Koji! What are you doing?! It's dangerous!" Kyoka told him.

Koji didn't reply to her but instead walked up to the buffalo slowly and with one hand reaching out towards him, and the large animal simply stared back at him with an almost gentle look. "Easy now, fella... We won't hurt you," Koji told the buffalo.

He placed his hands on the buffalo's nose and gently rubbed it, and the buffalo didn't seem to mind. When the others saw that Koji was seemingly becoming friends with the buffalo, they dropped their fighting stances and continued watching him gently touch the large animal.

Eventually, the buffalo turned around and swam away. Koji turned to the others and gave a thumbs up. "Told ya it was gonna be all right!"

"Wow! Your Quirk sure came in handy!" commented Ochako.

"I guess not every creature on this island is hostile," said Shouto.

"As long as you can understand animals, you can always get along with them!" Koji told them.

Led by Marlow, Team B entered the village of the tribe that they learned was called the Iwi Tribe. The appearance of the village wasn't all too different from how one visualized typical jungle villages to be.

"I can't believe that there would be people living on this island!" commented Izuku.

"Indeed, even if not advanced, it is still hard to imagine civilization of any kind existing on an island surrounded by a never-ending storm," said Tenya. "You have to imagine what were the circumstances that led to this being possible..."

Masahirao and Fumikage noticed that while the natives all had their eyes on their group and filled with curiosity, they were giving them two the most attention, looking at them in awe and even shock. "They seem to like us..." said Masahirao in an almost joking manner.

"I noticed as well. It is as if they are not accustomed to our appearances..." said Fumikage.

"That's because Quirks don't exist on this island," Marlow said to those two in Japanese, which made the group surprised. "The two of you being mutant-types that make you look different from usual humans is an even bigger surprise to them."

"Quirks don't exist on this island?!" said Izuku in shock.

"What the hell?! An entire village of Quirkless savages?!" said Katsuki in disbelief.

"Bakugo! You shouldn't address these people in such a rude way!" Tenya scolded him, but the latter didn't care.

"How is this possible? Nobody here has Quirks?" asked Weaver.

Marlow shrugged. "No idea... I guess it has something to do with living out in such an isolated place that they somehow never developed Quirks..."

"And you can speak Japanese?" Aizawa asked Marlow.

The latter nodded. "Yeah, I had a Japanese friend who was stranded on this island with me, and he taught me. Sadly, he passed a way a few years back to the devils..."

"Devils...?" said Reg curiously and nervously.

"Let me show you," Marlow told the group before leading the way. Along with some other natives, Marlow led them into a cave.

The interior of the cave was actually bright due to holes on the ceiling and walls that allowed sunlight to pour in. There were white paintings on the walls, depicting various animals.

One particular painting grabbed Fumikage's attention. "Is this a dinosaur, ancient rulers of the world?" he asked with a slight look of awe at the painting of what appeared to be a bipedal creature.

"Yeah, you can say that..." replied Marlow. "I was surprised to see something like a T-Rex, though it looks quite different from how scientists claim them to be. You know, with feathers and all... The folks call this guy Goro, so I decided to come up with Gorosaurus. Anyway, this is what I want to show you."

He led them to the back of the cave, where the picture of the upper half of a gorilla was seen. Below said picture were stick figures, seemingly bowing down to him.

"That's Kong, ruler of this island and god to these people," Marlow explained to the group.

"Kong..." said Conrad in a bit of awe as he looked at the painting.

"He's a pretty cool guy. Keeps to himself most of the time," said Marlow. "When you go into someone's house, you don't go around dropping bombs unless you're picking a fight, which is why he came after you lot."

Most of the group felt guilty, thinking that they got what was coming to them for not only causing environmental destruction, but also vandalizing someone's property, even if that someone isn't human.

"Isn't the wall for keeping him out? And didn't he kill your friend?" Nieves asked Marlow.

"Nah, Kong didn't kill my friend nor are the walls for keeping him out," explained Marlow. "Those are for the devils." He then pointed to the side of the cave that had the painting of lizard-like creatures. They are notable for having only two limbs and heads resembling reptilian skulls. "Those are the devils, also known as Skullcrawlers..."

"Skullcrawler... Truly it is a name that inspires terror and evil...!" commented Fumikage after hearing Izuku's translation.

"I came up with that name. I don't know what they're actually called..." said Marlow. "Anyway, the Skullcrawlers are responsible for wiping out Kong's kind. He's the only left of his kind."

"There were several more of those giant gorillas running around?!" asked Reg in shock.

"At least that's what I was told, because when I got here, he's the only left, and apparently a child too, even if big for one," replied Marlow.

"You folks are only having problems with these pests because you don't have Quirks! You can count on us to get rid of all of them for you!" said Katsuki with confidence.

"Pretty confident, huh, kid?" Marlow said to him while chuckling a bit. "I won't deny that you will fare better than us in dealing with Skullcrawlers, but I can't guarantee that you'll come out on top in the end. The friend of mine who was killed by the Skullcrawlers has a Quirk, and one perfectly suited for combat, but despite being skilled with it, he still didn't last forever."

"Don't look down on us, especially me! You've never seen anyone like us before!" claimed Katsuki.

"Don't get too ahead of yourself, Bakugo," Aizawa told him. "Whether or not we are strong enough to deal with these Skullcrawlers, it's still important to not underestimate our enemies. In the likeliness that we come across one, I heavily advise against clashing against them right away."

Team H and Packard's group were traveling together through a forest of towering bamboos, trying to get to the designated side of the island and find their comrades. Packard was especially eager to get to Chapman, as the latter was the only one he was able to get in contact with at the moment and therefore saw him as top priority.

As the students followed the soldiers, they talked among themselves about what they knew so far. "I can't believe that a simple internship turned out to be an island survival, and one that can cost our lives..." grumbled Minoru.

"It wouldn't have been so bad if there weren't all those freaky animals coming after us..." said Mina in agreement.

"We're heroes in training, so man yourself up and fight to the end!" Eijiro told them.

"Right, no use complaining about spilled milk now" said Momo in agreement. "We're future heroes, so we'll have to pull through this and prove ourselves worthy, no matter the situation!"

Suddenly, they heard what sounded like stomping and even the sound of piercing. Turning around, everyone was shocked to see a soldier impaled from top to bottom by a bamboo. Said bamboo pulled up, while the obviously lifeless soldier dropped dead. Mina screamed in terror at the sight of this and jumped onto Momo's body, hugging her tightly. Minoru jumped onto Mina's back, hugging her tightly while screaming.

Everyone looked up to see what appeared to be a gigantic spider with incredibly long legs above them. Before anyone else could say anything, a loud screech came from the arachnid as she began using her pincers, an unlikely appendage for a spider, to attack all those down below her.

"FIRE AT WILL!" Packard shouted at everyone as he took out his gun to fire at the spider from below. The other soldiers did the same with their machine guns, pelting the spider with bullets and making her screech in pain.

While the soldiers did their things, the students were in panic and shock as they got close to each other and wondered what to do. "What do we do?!" cried Minoru.

"We have to take that thing down!" said Eijiro.

"How do we deal with something that big?!" asked Mina.

The spider screeched in anger as she stomped around the place and continued to attack with her pincers, which resulted in some of the bamboos getting uprooted. Taking note of the legs moving around, Momo came up with an idea. "Go for its legs!"

"Legs?" Eijiro noticed one of the bamboos lifting off the ground and realized that it is the spider's leg. "I'm on it!" Hardening himself, he ran towards said leg and wrapped his limbs around it, getting taken into the air when the spider lifted it. "Let's see you endure this!" Making himself as hard and jagged as possible, he gripped the spider's leg with a strong force, intending to crush it. The spider felt pain and screeched as she shook the leg Eijiro was grabbing onto.

Minoru pulled and threw purple balls from his head at the bottom of the legs and also spots that they might come down on. This caused the spider to be stuck in place, having a hard time trying to pull back up her legs.

Mina squirted acids at the legs, burning and melting them. Momo produced an axe from her body and swung hard at the legs to cut them. With more and more of her legs getting destroyed, the spider was having a harder and harder time trying to remain standing.

Hanta launched a tape at one of the legs, wrapping around it, and then he pulled hard. With that, the spider finally crashed onto the ground. Everyone made sure to get away from underneath her when that happened.

The spider screeching weakly after hitting the ground, and then Packard walked up to her and shot her in the eyes and head multiple times with his gun until she finally turned silent. Everyone else gathered around the dead spider, looking at her in awe and commenting on the existence of something like this.

Turning to the students, Packard said, "Good job, kids! That's how heroes should be!"

"Yeah! We did it!" said Eijiro happily while punching the air.

"That... That was totally not scary and hard...!" said Minoru, who was still trembling in fright.

Back at the Iwi Village, Team N and the other researchers were taking their time to get a better look at the village and know things better.

Because the Iwi people had never seen Quirks before, they were amazed at what the students were capable of when the latter showed them small demonstrations of their Quirks.

Facing his palm upwards, Katsuki generated small explosions that went straight up, surprising the natives, who jumped back in shock while shouting things he didn't understand. "Ha! Bet ya never seen anything as awesome as this, right?" he boasted.

Tenya entertained some of the children by carrying them on his back and running around the place at a fast speed. It was a wild ride they enjoyed.

Weaver was taking pictures of the Natives, also teaching them how make peace signs with their hands. Izuku even stood among the natives, taking pictures with them.

After they were done with the picture session, Izuku and Weaver took a walk around the place and noticed a small opening at the side of the wall. Curious, they went up to the hole and looked through it, noticing something that surprised them.

There was a large buffalo on the side, trapped underneath a helicopter. Izuku immediately rushed out to see the buffalo, with Weaver following him. "It must be one of the helicopters that was knocked down by Kong previously," said Weaver.

"We have to help it!" said Izuku. Seeing that the buffalo was scared and sad, he approached and touched its in a friendly manner, telling it that everything was going to be all right.

Weaver grabbed a part of the copter and tried to push it away, but was unable to do so because of her lack of strength. Telling her to back away, Izuku grabbed the same and then channeled into his Quirk, just enough to push the copter off the top of the buffalo. Weaver was surprised at his feat.

The buffalo stood back up and let out a cry that sounded happy. Weaver and Izuku felt happy for the buffalo as it began to walk away, and it was only then did they realize that there was another person standing before them. It was Kong.

Izuku and Weaver were spooked by the appearance of the giant gorilla and backed away slightly. Izuku considered readying One For All at first, but then decided against it, as he remembered that the natives see Kong as an ally. It was better to get on Kong's good side if this was the case.

Kong did nothing but stood in place and stared down at the two humans. He looked at the copter that was pushed aside and then at the buffalo that was walking away happily. Shifting his eyes back to the humans again, he stared at them for a few more seconds before turning around to walk away.

Izuku and Weaver sighed with relief that nothing bad happened. "Looks like he really is friendly after all..." said the latter.

"I think he was going to come help that buffalo, and surely his opinion towards must've changed after seeing what we did," said Izuku.

"Best that get on his good side as long as we're here," said Weaver. "By the way, your Quirk is super strength?"

"Yeah, I can channel energy into different parts of my body to enhance my strength and even speed," Izuku told her in a way without giving off One For All's secret.

"Must be really handy in times like this! I mean what you did just now," said Weaver.

"Yeah, it is useful!" said Izuku.

TO BE CONTINUED

Good to see that some of you managed to correctly guess that it is Gorosaurus in the previous chapter! How did one of you come up with a Monster Hunter monster anyway...? This is a Godzilla franchise crossover, not a crossover with all other monster series...

From what I found out, Mother Longlegs, that giant spider, are exclusively female, which is why I referred to it using female pronouns. They can reproduce without mating, apparently.

The Japanese soldier that was on the island with Marlow, named Gunpei Ikari, is a minor character in the movie, so I figured that it wouldn't hurt to make him different from source material by giving him a Quirk, though it's not like it matters anymore since he's dead in this story as well... Maybe I will say what Quirk it is eventually.

And yes, Toru did say what she looks like in volume 22's extras.
