Hi! This is a short chapter, but I'm back with Rachel and Quinn. Enjoy.
Rachel and Quinn stumbled into the former's house, giggling from their excitement. It had been an incredible night. An hour or so at the Conservatory, followed by dinner, and finally a show at the theater. They finally got home around eleven, laughing and falling over each other.
Rachel dragged Quinn into her room and pulled her into a kiss. Her heart fluttered. She held her breath as she kissed her, too nervous to think about air. Quinn's lips were soft and timid. She had kissed Quinn before, but every time made her feel like she'd been shocked with 10,000 volts. Adrenaline. Sparks.
Quinn broke the kiss, laughing. She moved her eyes around the room and inhaled. "Rachel Berry's bedroom. Wow."
"Oh, you've never been in here!" Rachel gasped. "I'll give you the tour." Quinn smiled, and Rachel gestured around the room. "Here's my elliptical, I get on every day at six. And here is my inspiration board, where you'll find Barbra, some pictures of the Glee Club, and, if you turn this photo. . ." Rachel turned a picture of Finn to the side, revealing a smiling Quinn underneath.
Quinn grinned wide. "You have me on your inspiration board?"
Rachel smiled. "Of course. You inspire me, Quinn. To be more confident, more powerful-"
"Rachel, I'm not either of those things." Quinn turned away and sat on the bed. She pet the comforter gently and wiped her face with her hand. "I force you to meet me in diners in the middle of the night. I won't even look at you at school, and I won't tell a single person I'm with you. I am anything but strong."
Rachel stood in front of Quinn and placed her hands on her girlfriend's cheeks, softly rubbing them with her thumbs. "Lucy Quinn Fabray, you are the strongest person I have ever met."
Quinn looked up into her eyes, tears falling onto Rachel's fingers.
"The home you grew up in was very different from mine. Your parents are conservative Christians, your father disowned you when you got pregnant. You live in fear just for being who you are in your own home. My dads have never, ever made me feel that way. I'm lucky."
Quinn inhaled and looked at the floor, but Rachel picked up her chin with her index finger. She leaned down.
"But Quinn, despite your family, you are who you are. You tell me you love me. You meet with me. You have me in your life even though you are afraid of what your parents would say. I don't need to be brave because I don't have fear. You do. And you sit here in my bedroom with me anyway. That's real bravery."
Quinn stared into Rachel's eyes, melting into them. She placed her hand on Rachel's thigh, and gently raised it, letting her calf fall onto the bed. She tapped Rachel's other thigh, and Rachel leaned forward, placing her other leg on Quinn's other side.
Rachel looked at Quinn, her nose brushing hers, sitting on Quinn's thighs. Quinn ran her hand up Rachel's waist, and Rachel cupped Quinn's face. Quinn finally broke the space between them and kissed her, wrapping her up into a loving, passionate embrace.
