Naruto and Kingdom Hearts belong to their respective owners.

Someone asked me about pairings. To be honest, I hadn't really planned on pairing Naruto with anybody. To me, it just didn't really fit in with this version of Naruto's character. If I do end up doing some kind of pairing, it won't be until later.

Also, somebody asked about Naruto's Keyblade and yes, it's still Master Xehanort's Keyblade. I understand that Xigbar got it back at the end of KH III, but I can't see Xehanort with any other Keyblade.

Chapter 4: Return to the Leaf

Jugo groans in pain as he slams into the wall of the arena. Suigetsu falls to his knees while clutching a cut on his side. There is no blood due to it being cauterized. Karin is on the ground, panting and sweating from fatigue.

Naruto smirks, "Are you guys done already?"

Suigetsu grits his teeth, "Not by a longshot."

He struggles to his feet and aims his sword at Naruto, "I ain't losing here."

Jugo climbs to his feet, "He's right."

Karin limps over to them, "We're not giving up yet."

Naruto is silent for a moment, before he starts laughing and clapping, "Wonderful!"

"Your loyalty to each other, despite the circumstances is astounding." "I'm both awed and humbled by such a display."

His smile turns deadly, "But now our game comes to an end."

He snaps his finger, causing the air in the arena to be completely filled with red lasers. The sheer amount of lasers causes the sunlight coming in through the arena's windows and ceiling to be blotted out, shrouding the arena in darkness.

The entire audience is shocked and even horrified at the sheer devastation this attack will cause.

Oichi turns to Zabuza, "Sensei, you have to stop this."

"If he unleashes that attack, it will kill them."

Zabuza nods, "You're right."

He stands up and attempts to jump into the arena, but is blocked by a force-field.

"What the hell!?"

Jugo starts to sweat, "This is bad."

Karin shivers in fear, "We can't block this many."

"We'll die if we get hit."

Suigetsu grits his teeth, "Damnit."

"I really didn't want to do this."

He steps forward and kneels down, "We surrender."

This causes the audience to go into stunned silence. Karin and Jugo both look at Suigetsu with shocked looks.

'He surrendered!?'

Naruto glares at him, "Is that really your decision?"

Suigetsu nods, "I'd rather keep fighting, but if did then my teammates would get slaughtered."

Naruto chuckles and banishes the lasers, "Very good."

"You are a good leader Suigetsu." "If you had chosen to continue the fight, I wouldn't have thought twice about obliterating you."

He sighs and closes his eyes for a moment.

He opens them, "As promised, I will be your sensei from this moment forward."

The team all kneels down and bow their heads, "Thank you sensei."

Mei stands up, "There you have it."

"We have our second team for the Chunin Exams!"

The audience erupts into cheers and applause.

Once everything has calmed down, the two Genin teams are summoned to Mei's Office, along with Zabuza, Haku, Ao and Naruto.

Mei smiles, "Well done, all of you."

"You will bring glory to Kiri in the exams."

They all nods, "Yes, my lady."

She turns to Naruto, "What do you think?"

Naruto nods, "They definitely have what it takes to succeed."

"They've passed my test flawlessly."

Mei smiles, "I'm glad to hear that."

"You will all have a month to make any last minute preparations or get in any last minute training." "Once the month is up, we will be headed to Konoha."

They all bow their heads, "Yes, lady."

Naruto turns to his team, "Follow me."

Naruto leads them to a clearing where they will not be disturbed.

He lifts his hand, "Curaga."

The team's bodies glow green as their injuries instantly heal.

Karin's eyes widen, "That's amazing."

Naruto snaps his fingers as his shadow bursts up and forms two clones.

"Jugo you stay, the rest of you will split up and go with my clones."

His clones lead Suigetsu and Karin in different directions, while Naruto examines Jugo.

Once they are alone, he sits down on a rock, "Sit with me."

Jugo blinks, "Okay?"

Naruto sits down, "Before we get started, I need to know something."

"How did you wind up with Orochimaru?"

Jugo sighs, "Well…it all started when I was a child."

"No matter how hard I tried, I just couldn't control my clan's power." "I was desperate, and would have given anything to not lose control anymore." "I went to Orochimaru because I genuinely believed that he could help."

Naruto frowns, "I'm guessing that didn't work out the way you intended?"

Jugo shakes his head, "No."

"The only saving grace I had there was my friend Kimimaro of the Kaguya Clan." "He was the only thing that could calm my rage."

Naruto blinks, "Kimimaro?"

"Pale skin, white hair, controls bones?"

Jugo's eyes widen, "You know him?"

Naruto nods, "I met him once, a long time ago."

"But that's not the main thing I wanted to ask you."

He frowns, "How are you still alive?"

Jugo blinks, "I beg your pardon?"

Naruto narrows his eyes at him, "I was there Jugo."

"I watched you die, how did you survive?"

Jugo slouches, "Oh…"

He clears his throat, "Well, I realized that the invasion was going to fail, so I knew that I had to get out while the getting was good."

"So I used a special jutsu to put myself into a death like state and then escaped while everyone was distracted."

Naruto nods, "I see."

"Well then, on to the training." "You may have gained control of your power, but you need to train with it or you'll become weaker."

Jugo nods, "I'm ready."

With Suigetsu.

Naruto frowns at Suigetsu, "Before we begin, tell me something."

"How exectly did you wind up with Orochimaru?" "I can understand Jugo and Karin, but I have no idea about you."

Suigetsu groans, "Oh that."

"To be honest, I kinda…got lost."

Naruto raises an eyebrow, "What do you mean?"

Suigetsu groans again, "Well…after my brother died, I decided to go after the seven swords."

"I meant to go to Hot Water Country, but I went in the wrong direction and wound up in Oto."

Naruto deadpans, "I see."

He sighs, 'Looks like I've got my work cut out for me.'

He stands up, "Okay, let's get started on your training."

He turns to a small lake next to them, "Watch this."

He lifts his hand, and Suigetsu's eyes widen in shock as all the water in the lake rises into the air and floats there for a moment, before falling back down.

"I am well versed in the use of water."

Suigetsu grins, 'This is gonna be awesome.'

With Karin.

Karin fidgets, "Um sensei?"

Naruto hums, "Yes?"

Karin blushes, "Where exactly have you been all this time?"

"After Uzu fell, our clan members either went into hiding or were hunted down."

Naruto sighs, "My mother fled from Uzu and made her way outside the Elemental Nations."

"What about you, how did Orochimaru get his hands on you?"

Karin frowns, "My mother made her way to Kusa."

"But after I was born, we were taken prisoner and forced to be healers for their shinobi." "My mother eventually died, but I managed to escape and was taken in by Orochimaru." "He took an interest in my bloodline and medical abilities and so he made me a scientist."

Naruto nods, "And then Tayuya helped you escape."

Karin nods with a sad look, "I want to help her, she's the only friend I had in that place, other than Jugo and Suigetsu."

Naruto nods, "I understand, family is important."

"Doubly so for an Uzumaki."

She nods before shaking her head, "Anyway sensei, I'm ready for your training."

Naruto nods, "Alright, let's start."

A month passes and Naruto does his best to help the three of them improve. For Suigetsu, he improves his swordsmanship and his skill in Suiton. For Jugo, he improves his skill with his sage mode transformation, making it stronger and building up his stamina. And for Karin, he helps her learn more about healing and eventually, helps her unlock the Uzumaki chains.

Now, both teams are headed to Konoha.

Oichi turns to Naruto, "Xehanort-sensei, can I ask you a question?"

He hums, "What is it?"

She frowns, "Karin tells me that you're a member of the Uzumaki Clan."

"But I've noticed that you don't really look like one."

Naruto sighs, "I take after my father's side of the family."

She nods, "That does make sense, I hadn't thought of that."

Naruto hums, "Those I suppose it doesn't matter in the long run."

Hanzo turns to him, "What do you mean sensei?"

Naruto frowns, "I never considered myself to be an Uzumaki."

"I was raised in my ways of my father's teachings, not my mother's."

Karin frowns, "She didn't teach you our ways?"

Naruto has an emotionless look, "She died during childbirth."

The group goes quiet, not wanting to offend him by saying something tactlessly.

Zabuza clears his throat, "The village is up ahead."

The group stops their tree jumping and starts to walk the rest of the way. Naruto immediately recognizes his two friends Izumo and Kotetsu faithfully guarding the entrance to the village.

Zabuza walks up to them, "Greetings, we're hear from Kiri to participate in the Chunin Exams."

Izumo nods, "Alright, we just need to fill out some forms and we'll be good to go."

"How many teams?"

Zabuza grunts, "Just the two."

He gestures to Naruto, "Me and him are the Jonin."

Izumo nods, "Alright, names?"

Zabuza nods, "Zabuza Momochi."

Izumo nods and turns to Naruto, "And you?"

Naruto grunts, "Xehanort."

Izumo raises an eyebrow, "Surname?"

Naruto grunts, "Don't have one."

Izumo blinks, "Huh?"

Naruto sighs, "My father didn't have a clan and I don't consider myself to be a part of my mother's."

Izumo nods, "Ah, that makes sense."

"Okay, your students?"

Zabuza gestures to his team, "I have Miyamoto Musashi, Hanzo Hattori and Oichi Nobunaga."

Izumo nods, "Okay."

He turns to Naruto, "And for you?"

Naruto hums, "I've got Suigetsu Hozuki, Jugo and Karin Uzumaki."

Izumo's eyes widen at Karin's name, but quickly recovers, "I see."

Koutetsu smiles, "Alright, everything seems to be in order."

The group heads into the village while Koutetsu turns to Izumo, "We'd better report this to the Hokage."

Izumo nods, "Yeah."

Minato sighs, "Damn this paperwork never ends."

"What I wouldn't give for a distraction right about now."

Suddenly, the door to his office opens and Minato smiles as Kushina, the triplets and Kakashi walk into the office.

Minato smiles, "Ah, there you are."

"Are the three of you ready for the exams?"

The three kids all hug their father, "We're gonna rock it tou-san."

Minato chuckles and turns to Kakashi, "Kakashi?"

Kakashi eye smiles, "They have taken to my training like ducks to water."

Minato grins, "That's great."

Kushina smiles, "They are our kids after all."

Before Minato can ask about the training, the intercom on Minato's desk buzzes, "Hokage-sama, Izumo and Koutetsu are here to see you."

Minato raises an eyebrow, "What do they want?"

"Send them in."

The two Chunin walk into the room, "Hokage-sama, we have a report from the gate."

Minato frowns and takes a seat at his desk, "Tell me."

Izumo nods, "Two teams from Kiri have arrived for the exams."

Minto blinks, "Interesting, Mei did accept our invitation after all."

Kushina smiles, "I haven't seen her in years."

Koutetsu clears his throat, one of the Jonin sensei's was Zabuza Momochi."

Kakashi's eyes widen, "That's impossible, I killed him in Wave."

Koutetsu shakes his head, "It was him, there was no doubt about that."

Kakashi blinks, "But how…?"

Izumo hums, "Anyway, his team consisted of Miyamoto Musashi, Hanzo Hattori and Oichi Nobunaga."

Minato hums, "Those are the names of clans that came from Iron Country."

"Interesting."

Koutetsu clears his throat, "The other team was led by a man named Xehanort."

Kushina raises an eyebrow, "That's an unusual name."

Izumo nods, "He has no surname, claiming that his father had no clan and that he didn't consider himself to be part of his mother's clan."

Minato's eyes widen, "I've heard that description before."

Kakashi raises an eyebrow, "Where?"

Minato shakes his head, "I don't know."

"I know I've heard someone say those exact words before, but for the life of me I can't remember who."

He shakes his head again, "Anyway, what about his team?"

Koutetsu nods, "His team was by far the more interesting of the two."

"First off we have Suigetsu Hozuki."

Minato's eyes widen, "Now there's a name I'm familiar with."

Kakashi turns to him, "Wasn't there a Mangetsu Hozuki in the Seven Swordsmen of the Mist?"

Minato nods, "Yes, he died a number of years ago."

"This Suigetsu must be a relative of his."

Izumo frowns, "Then there's Jugo."

Kushina's eyes widen, "Jugo!?"

"You mean the Oto shinobi that died during the invasion!?"

Koutuetsu nods, "He must have survived somehow."

He smirks, "And last but not least, we have Karin Uzumaki."

Both Chunin secretly fist bump at the shocked looks on the faces of everyone in the office.

"What!?"

The two teams walk through the village, ignoring the hustle and bustle of the civilians.

Zabuza turns to the teams, "Alright, I'm going to go register us for the exams."

"We'll be staying at the Golden Leaf Hotel."

Musashi nods, "Alright sensei."

He suddenly grins and runs off while dragging his teammates, "We're gonna go check out the sights!"

Karin's eye twitches, "Fantastic."

Suigetsu cracks his neck, "Well, I'm gonna go and see if there's a good smith around here."

Naruto points to the left, "There's a smith/weapons shop that way."

Suigetsu grins, "Thanks boss."

He runs down the street in the direction of shop.

Jugo scratches his chin, "I think I'll head to the hotel, I'm a little tired."

Naruto nods, "Alright, get some rest for tomorrow."

He turns to Karin, "You hungry?"

Karin nods, "A little."

Naruto gestures with his head, "This way."

Naruo discreetly smiles as a familiar looking ramen stand comes into view.

Naruto walks into the stand, "Hello?"

Ayame walks up from the back, "Welcome to Ichiraku Ramen."

Naruto sits down, "My student and I would like to order if that's alright?"

Ayame smiles, "Of course, please have a seat."

Naruto and Karin both take a seat and peruse through the menu.

Naruto looks around, "Is Teuchi not here?"

Ayame shakes her head, "No, papa went out on a business trip to spread our business to other villages."

"So, what can I get you?"

Naruto hums, "I'll take the beef ramen with some chicken dumplings."

Ayame nods and turns to Karin, "How about you?"

Karin smiles, "I'll have some of the fish chicken ramen."

Ayame smiles, "I'll have your orders right out."

The two of them sit in silence as they wait for their food. The silence is interrupted by the arrival of Kushina and the chibis.

"Ayame-chan, are you in?"

"I'm in the back, I'll be right with you!"

Kushina smiles and goes to sit down, when her eyes widen at the sight of Karin.

"You must be Karin."

Karin gulps, "Um yes…you must be Kushina-sama."

She stands up and blushes a little, "It's nice to meet you."

Kushina squeals and latches onto her, "Oh, you're so cute!"

Karin's face turns beet red, "Ah, Kushina-sama!"

Kushina lets go of her, "Oh, here let me introduce you."

"These are my kids, this is Mito, Menma and Natsumi."

Menma grins, "Yo."

Mito smiles, "It's nice to meet you."

Natsumi smiles, "You're so pretty."

Karin fidgets, "Oh, thank you."

Ayame comes back out to the front , "Welcome back guys."

"The usual?"

Kushina nods, "Sure."

Kushina turns to continue her conversation with Karin, but stops as she finally takes notice of Naruto.

"Oh hello, I didn't see you there."

Naruto hums, "Xehanort."

Kushina's eyes widen, "So you're Xehanort."

"I was wondering what you might have looked like."

Naruto grunts, "Lucky me."

Ayame brings the food out and serves everyone, causing Kushina and her children to cheer in joy.

Kushina turns to Karin, "So, how is life in Kiri?"

Karin smiles, "I did have some troubles at first, but I've grown to love it."

"Mei-sama is like a mother to me."

Kushina nods, "I haven't seen Mei in a long time."

"Are you on your own?"

Karin nods, "My mother died a long time ago, and I've never met my father."

Kushina gives her a sad smile, "I see."

She turns to Xehanort, "If you don't mind, I'd like to ask you a question."

Naruto hums, "What do you want to know?"

Kushina frowns, "You said that you didn't consider yourself to a member of your mother's clan."

Naruto grunts, "My died giving birth to me, so I was never taught her ways."

Kushina nods with a sympathetic look, "I see."

"Do you know what clan your mother came from?"

Naruto nods, "I was told that she came from the Uzumaki Clan."

Kushina and her children's eyes all widen in shock, 'He's one of us!?'

Kushina shakes her head, "So, where have the two of you been all this time?"

Karin frowns, "Well, my mother and I originally lived in Kusa."

"But after my mother died, I was taken in by Orochimaru."

This causes Kushina to hiss in anger, making Karin sweat and quickly finish her explanation.

"But I was able to eventually escape and made my way to Kiri."

Kushina sighs in relief, "That's good."

She turns to Naruto, "What about you?"

Naruto sighs, "I was born and raised outside the Elemental Nations."

Kushina's eyes widen, "Amazing, how did you come to make your way here?"

Naruto hums, "I was born on an island, but grew to resent I for being a veritable prison."

"I was eventually able to leave the island and made my way to a place called Scala ad Caelum." "It was there that I found myself." "I trained both my body and mind to peak conditioning."

He swallows some of his ramen, "After years of training, I went home to find my father on his death bed."

"He told me of my mother's clan and told me that I should to come here and see her homeland for myself." "I went to Uzu, but I found nothing there."

Kushina nods sadly, "Our home was destroyed during the Second Shinobi World War."

Naruto hums, "I left Uzu and made my way to Wave, only to find it under attack by shinobi from Oto."

Kushina growls, "Oto."

Naruto nods, "I killed them all and saved Wave."

"That's when I met up with Zabuza and Haku, who brought me to Kiri and introduced me to Mei." "She recruited me as a sensei and sent me here to enter my team in the Chunin Exams."

Kushina smiles, "Well, I'm glad that you finally met some members of your family."

She stands up and hugs him to his surprise, "I've longed to find more members of my family and now I've found two in one day."

Naruto closes his eyes, he's having a hard time keeping his emotions in check.

She pulls away and turns back to her Ramen with a blissful smile.

Once everyone has finished their ramen, the group separates with Naruto and Karin walking towards their hotel.

Karin turns to him, "Sensei, are you alright?"

Naruto grunts, "I'm fine."

Karin frowns, "Sensei, what's wrong?"

Naruto hums, "I didn't come here because I wanted to meet family."

Karin sighs, "I know but to an Uzumaki, family is everything."

Naruto scoffs, "I am well aware, but don't forget that I wasn't raised as one."

Karin nods, "Yes, but you still have Uzumaki blood in your veins."

"Which means that Uzumaki will see you as family and care for you."

Naruto sighs, "Yes…but I've never really thought much of my family in the past."

He shakes his head, "At any rate, we should get some rest."

"You may have passed my test, but you will be truly tested."

Karin smiles, "I won't let you down sensei."

Naruto smiles, "I know you won't."

They reach the hotel, where the Genin lay down to get rest for the exams in the morning.

Naruto walks out and stands on the balcony of their room. He lifts his head and stares up at the stars.

'This is going to be tricky, I can't let them know who I am.' 'I don't plan on sticking around after this is all over.'

He sighs, 'Better get some rest.'
