Chapter 4 Messages

Sakura just came home from the hospital after Tomoyo was discharged. She sighs in relief that Tomoyo still seems strong and positive. Eriol came by the hospital every day to check on Tomoyo. He seemed conflicted by how positive Tomoyo was but at the same time was happy she was still the same person. Tomoyo still didn't get her memories back. Sakura would notice how distant Tomoyo was with Eriol. She saw how disappointed Eriol was that her memories had not come back. Tomoyo would secretly glance at Eriol when he wasn't looking. Sakura would chuckle at them.

"Sakura. Your home?" said a male voice.

"Hi, dad. They let Tomoyo out of the hospital." Sakura replied. Sakura still had a worried look on her face.

"You seem to still be worried about Tomoyo?" Fujitaka asked.

Sakura turns to look at her father. "Tomoyo seemed to have lost a few of her memories from the past week."

Fujitaka looks at Sakura surprised. "How is that possible?"

"Dad, it's easier if you don't ask. But just to take care of Tomoyo if you see her. She is very stressed." she quickly replied.

Fujitaka looks at Sakura. "Okay. But I just want you to also be okay too." He comes to give Sakura a heartwarming hug. Sakura hugs back and smiles.

"So the monster finally arrives home?" says her brother as he walks in the living room. He grabs an apple from the table and wipes it clean. He takes a bite out of the apple and stares at Sakura and his father.

"I'm not a monster Touya!" Sakura exclaimed.

"Only a monster would say that." replies Touya with ease.

Sakura rolls her eyes. "I'll be in my room if you need me. I need to catch up on my homework." she replies. She walks down the hallway to her room.

Touya stares down the hallway. "You know she went to a party a few nights ago." he told his father.

Fujitaka sighs. "I trust you both to make good decisions. When you grow up these decisions will help you grow to who you will be." he said.

Touya looks at his father then down the hallway. "I just hope she doesn't make a mistake she will regret one day." he replied.

Sakura turns on the monitor to her computer. She first looks at the email her friend Naoko sent her and see's it's her homework assignments for the past few days.

Sakura reads it and looks at the corner of her screen and see's she just received a message from Little Wolf a few days ago.

"Oh, he messaged me?" she said in shock.

She opens the message and reads it. She smiles at his message. She begins to type a reply to him.

Hi Little Wolf,

I'm also sorry I have not been online. I had an incident with my friend. I have not been to another country. But I have been looking at different colleges in China, Japan, and Korea. I cheerlead at my local school and look forward to scholarships. We went to nationals and won the first prize. I hope next year, I will become the cheer captain.

I have a secret to tell you. I hope you reply back to me soon. I would gladly tell you.

Ying Fa

Sakura presses send and looks out her window. It looks like it's getting colder. Winter break is almost here and she just wishes to go somewhere warm. She stretches and reopens her previous email to finish up her homework

After an hour working on her homework, she receives a new message. She looks to see the message. Sadly, it was not from Little Wolf. She looks at it. It's a new friend request from Kei.

Sakura looks at it for a moment. She wants to deny it, because of Jin. But Sakura thought it over and said they may be friends but they don't have the same personality. She looks at his picture again.

Sakura sighs, "He really is handsome." she thought. She presses accept. She heard a knock on her door.

"Come in." she said

Her brother Touya comes inside to tell her, "Dinner is ready"

Sakura turns to look at her brother Touya. "Okay. I will be down in seconds." she said.

Touya looks at her computer screen for a moment. Sakura sweats a little from Touya's sudden stare. "I thought you were working on your homework?" he suddenly asks.

Sakura laughs nervously. "Haha. There is an answer to that question." she replies.

"TOUYA! THERE IS A PHONE CALL FOR YOU!" Yells their father downstairs.

Touya stares at her another brief second. "I am watching you, little monster."

Sakura throws a stuffed animal to the door as he shuts the door quickly. She fumes from her interaction with her brother. She turns back to her computer and sees she received two messages. She receive one from Kei

Hi Sakura,

I wanted to thank you for accepting me. It took me a while to find your profile. I hope you are doing well. I haven't seen you in school for a while. I was just hoping to take you out to dinner? If you're busy, I can understand. I hope you reply back to me soon.

Sakura looks at the message twice. "Did he, Kei, ask me to dinner?" Sakura thought. She smiles and thinks I should talk to Tomoyo about this before I reply.

When Sakura saw the next message, her heart stopped for a second. She saw the name Little Wolf pop up. She smiles and opens the message.

Hello Ying Fa,

I guess we are busy people. I am happy you won first place in your cheerleading squad. I play a few sports here and there. I look forward to hearing your secret. I hope you don't mind if I ask, what happened to your friend? I hate to admit it, but I am looking forward to hearing back from you soon.

Little Wolf

Sakura didn't know why she felt something flutter in her heart. Sakura shakes her head as she blushes from reading his message. She rereads his message again. She forgot she was supposed to head down to eat dinner. She hears a knock again on her door.

"Sakura." Her father knocked.

Sakura jumped from shock. She had forgotten to head downstairs to eat her dinner. She quickly shuts off her computer and heads to open her door. She opens the door just as her father was about to knock again.

"Dad." she timidly answers.

"Sakura. Your food is getting cold. Are you very busy with your homework?" he asked.

"Haha." she laughs nervously.

Fujitaka smiles at his daughter and says, "I know you work hard in school. But it is okay to take a break to eat your dinner." He motions her to follow him to the dinner table to eat.

Sakura smiles shyly. She follows him to the dining room to eat her dinner. She see's Touya finishing up his dinner. Sakura glares at him as she remembers he recently called her monster again. Touya just smiles at her and picks up his plate to wash up his dishes.

Sakura slowly eats her food and spaces out thinking about what to write to Little Wolf. She smiles at what to write back to him.

Her father looked at her and asked, "What brings that smile to your face today?"

Sakura jumped a little and smiled at her father. "N-nothing really. I just made a new friend recently."

"Oh? Will I meet this lucky friend of yours?" he asked.

Sakura thought it over. "Maybe someday." She said. She didn't feel confident if they would meet. But she was okay being friends with him for the time being.

She heard her phone ringing from her pocket. She excused herself from the table. She looked at her phone and saw it was from Tomoyo. Sakura felt guilty she wasn't thinking about Tomoyo recently. She forgot to call her and see if she got home safely. She answers her phone.

"Tomoyo! Did you get home safely?" Sakura asked.

"Sakura, you don't need to worry about me all the time." Tomoyo replied

Sakura walks towards the window nearby. She sighs, "Tomoyo, I just care alot about you and just want to know you are safe." she said kindly.

"Sakura, I will be okay. I am stronger than you think. I called you to let you know I will be coming back to school tomorrow." Tomoyo said.

Sakura was happy to know Tomoyo was coming back to school. But she fear that Jin would try to do something. But knowing that Eriol will also be there too. Even if Tomoyo has forgotten him, she still was attracted to him. That is bound to mean something.

"Shall we meet before school?" Sakura asked.

Tomoyo laughs and says, "Sakura. Are you even sure you will wake up early enough to not be late to school?"

Sakura pouts on her phone and says, "Haha very funny Tomoyo."

Sakura recalls that Kei had contacted her. "Tomoyo, I have to let you know Kei contacted me."

Tomoyo teases Sakura, "Kei did you say? You had a crush on him forever. What did he say to you?"

"Tomoyo please?!" she exclaimed shyly.

"Haha. But really what did he say to you?" Tomoyo asked.

"He said he would like to have a dinner date with me." she says shyly, "I don't know what to do?"

There was a pause of silence. "Sakura, you haven't gone on a date before. It would be nice to meet some people. Especially, since you had a crush on him for so long." Tomoyo answered.

Sakura thought over what Tomoyo said. But she had an aching feeling that it might be something she would regret. Sakura looks up at the sky. She remembers a time when she was looking at the stars with another person. They would often look at the stars and try to count as many stars they could see. But neither of them could count them all. When Sakura thought of this she thought they were being silly. She had a small crush on this boy, but then he left. She cried a lot when he left, and regretted not keeping in contact with him. She had moved on with her life. She never told Tomoyo she had met this person. She wanted to keep him for herself. He was after all a very handsome person.

Sakura sighs, "I suppose you are right. I will give him a reply." Sakura said.

Sakura heard a noise in the background through her phone. "Tomoyo are you okay?" she suddenly asked.

"I am okay Sakura. Actually, I am more than okay. I'm so excited to make you your new outfit for this dinner date!" Tomoyo exclaimed.

Sakura sweats a little from Tomoyo's excitement. Sakura thought, "Oh it's just a dinner date. Haha"

"Sakura, when you decide what you will be doing. You have to tell me so I can plan the perfect outfit for you." Tomoyo said.

"Um. Okay. But Tomoyo, I'm really okay with my clothes." Sakura said softly.

"Sakura. You can't wear those clothes, he has already seen you in those clothes. You need an absolute new outfit!" Tomoyo said firmly.

"O-okay. Whatever you say Tomoyo." gaved up Sakura. Sakura thought it was no use to change Tomoyo's mind.

"That's the spirit Sakura."

"SAKURA. Are you finished with your dinner?" her father called out.

"Tomoyo, I will talk to you tomorrow. I have to finish my dinner." Sakura said.

"Yes. yes. Okay, I will talk to you tomorrow." Tomoyo said excitedly.

Sakura hangs up on her phone call. Sakura sighs and thinks, "Tomoyo doesn't change. Haha."

Sakura walks back to the dinner table and finishes up her meal. She thanks her father for the meal and returns to her room. Sakura turns back her computer monitor and starts the messages to Kei and Little Wolf.

I would like to have dinner with you. We can contact each other at school and decide what we will be doing. I can't wait to see you in school.

Sakura looks at her email message to Kei. She didn't feel so well about going on a dinner date with him. But Tomoyo was right, she had a crush on him for the longest. But she just felt something was clicks submit and starts her other email to Little Wolf.

I'm so happy to hear from you! I will tell you my secret. I have a crush on this boy. He was very sweet to me. He always protected me but I would secretly look at him when he wasn't looking. He didn't know I had liked him so much. It was a shame he left so soon after I met him. He was just the cutest person. It's a pity I never told him I liked him. I never told anyone this. I have been keeping to myself for so many years. My best friend doesn't even know I harbor these feelings. I started fresh in my life but I always go back to those memories I had with this person. Have you ever met anyone like that?

My friend was in the hospital. We had a problem that happened. But it's not my story to tell others. Perhaps if we met one day she will tell you. I hope you are okay with that. I actually enjoy our chats for the day. It makes me smile when I read your messages. I hope I can bring a smile to your face. I look forward to hearing from you soon.

Ying Fa

Sakura breaths in and out. She looks over her message. It was longer than before. But she had this feeling she could trust Little Wolf. She knew this kind of trust was a big deal. She hardly knew him, yet she was able to tell him something she couldn't tell Tomoyo, her best friend. Sakura smiles. She opens her window and looks up at the stars.

"I hope you are counting the stars still. I haven't lost count yet." Sakura whispers into the darkness.

Syaoran was listening to his sisters in the living room talking about what clothes to wear for the next company dinner party. His sisters were talking off his ear about what men that will attend this company. Syaoran looks at his watch and then tells his sister.

"If it's decided, I'm heading back to my room" he said nonchalantly.

His sisters wave him away as they continue their talk. Syaoran shakes his head at them. He is glad he isn't a girl that has these kinds of worries. He walks down the hallway and sees the office door to his mother's office is slightly open. He heard his mother on the phone.

"Li Gui Ren! I told you that you are not responsible for the actions you have made. I have already spoken with the Clan. We will take away all your power you have in the company for your betrayal to the Clan." Yelan yelled.

"Please Auntie. I am sorry. It was a little mistake. Only you can help me." He begged on the floor.

"If it was a mistake you wouldn't have tried to talk badly of my family." Yelan said.

"I am sorry for this. Do you need me to slap myself to make peace with you?" Gui Ren said.

"Gui Ren, I can't trust you. You said that my son is not a capable leader and should not be the heir to the Li Clan. Do you think I am naive?" she said, "Don't think I know what you are doing behind my back."

Gui Ren looks away from Yelan. He didn't know she knew about everything. He chuckles. He gets up on the floor and moves closer to Yelan.

He is at arm's length to her. He quickly grabs her arm and pulls her near him. He whispers, "Do you think you are capable of leading the clan?"

He pushes her to the ground as he let go of her arm. He takes out his handkerchief from his pocket. "I suppose I should unmask my mask when I am around you."

Yelan glares at him and gets up. "Don't think you can come here and do whatever you want?"

Gui Ren laughs at Yelan. "My dear cousin's wife. Your son is still too young to lead. I am here today, because I can lead."

There was a knock on the door and Syaoran entered the office.

"My cousin Gui Ren. What a pleasant surprise to see you here?" Syaoran said.

Gui Ren and Yelan both look at Syaoran as he enters the room. Syaoran continues to walk towards them. He sees his mother looked frantic and worried. He looks at Gui Ren, "Cousin, I would love to see how you can lead anyone. I could almost see the potential of you leading something." he said.

Gui Ren looks at Syaoran and smirks at him. "Of course I can lead. I have own multiple businesses." he said.

Syaoran chuckles and says, "If you think your failed businesses are a good example of leading people. Then I have to say you are doing quite a great job. Unfortunately, you do not have the potential to lead anyone. Especially the Li Clan."

Gui Ren glares at Syaoran and wants to retort. But he didn't have a comeback to say.

"If you are finished with talking with my mother. I asked that you leave immediately. You wouldn't like to be thrown out, would you?" Syaoran said calmly as he glared at him.

Gui Ren backs away slowly, "It looks like our conversation is over. I shall leave now Auntie."

Yelan looks at Gui Ren sternly. She waves him away to leave. She didn't know how much Syaoran had heard. She didn't finish talking to Gui Ren, but since Syaoran was here she did not want to persist in their conversation.

Gui Ren bows and walks away.

"Xiaolang." Yelan starts.

"Mother. Do not worry about Gui Ren, he is a little pest that wishes for more greedy things. But with all these failed projects he has been doing. The clan would never put him as an option to lead the Li Clan. Do not worry." Syaoran reassured his mother.

Yelan sighs in relief. She smiles at her son as she sees that he is growing to be a fine man. She pats his face and says, "You are growing up so fine."

Syaoran looks away. "I'm just worried that you will not be able to sleep knowing that Gui Ren is out there betraying us all." he said quickly.

Yelan chuckles at Syaoran shyness. Syaoran moves and gives his mother a quick kiss on the cheek. "I will return to my room. Just call for me if you need anything?" he stated.

Yelan nods her head and waves him to leave.

Syaoran closes his mother's office door. He walks back to his room and turns on his computer. He is still waiting to hear back from Ying Fa. He looks at his watch and turns to look out his window. He looked outside and saw it was a cloudy day and he couldn't see the stars. He sighs, I guess I won't see the stars tonight. He heard a beep on his computer and read his message from Ying Fa.

He smiles at the end of her message. He was happy that she didn't disregard him for not talking to her.
