Olivia:
"Did your husband do this to you?" Olivia wanted to open to eyes to see the woman the voice belonged to. She could feel her delicate fingers on her neck as she checked her pulse. Olivia then started to focus on the beeping machines in the background. She was in the hospital. He had truly put her health before his vendetta. Although, she was apart of his master plan some how. He needed her alive. It wasn't time for her to die, yet.
Olivia tried to open her eyes, but she was having a hard time. The last thing she remembered was him dressing her after he gave her an impromptu shower. He cleaned her up, but she was sure the stench of the windowless room still made itself known underneath the musky scent of his body wash. Then she felt it. Something felt wrong and out of place. There was a tube down her throat. Once she recognized the foreign object she felt as if if she were choking.
"It's not time for you to wake up. Your body needs to rest. If you weren't brought in when you were chances are you would have died," It was as if she could feel the ladies unfamiliar eyes rake over her body, "Especially with how thin and fragile you are." Olivia tried to concentrate on what was being said, but all of a sudden she started falling back into darkness. She didn't know what the nurse had given her, but it felt nice.
Elliot:
"Toni Smith, it's the police, open up," Elliot yelled as he banged his fist on the door. She was eighteen the first time he met her. Her dark skin was complimented by her chocolate brown orbs, and curly black hair. She seemed so scared. She was so young. She had been missing for about a year when he was assigned the case. Every other detective passed on her case and claimed she was a run-away. Toni's mom was over protective of her daughter and they were known to butt heads. Toni's mom, Jacqueline, swore up and down that her daughter would never run away, and Elliot was the first to agree.
Elliot didn't know why, though. He just had a gut feeling that she was right. Toni seemed like a normal, happy, healthy teenager. She was the homecoming queen, a cheerleader, and dating the football star. She even had straight A's. She didn't fit the criteria of a miserable teen who wanted to venture out on her own. Sure she didn't always get along with her mom, but it was always about little things. Her running away did not make sense to him.
"Shhh, you'll wake the baby," he heard as she opened the door revealing herself to both him and Fin. The hair she used to keep curly was now straight with some blonde highlights mixed in, her leopard print skirt was gone and in it's place were some light wash denim jeans. "Detective Stabler, is that you?" Her eyes went to a squint as if she were taking in his appearance after all of these years as well.
"Uh, yeah. It is. Look Toni, is it okay if we come in? My partner Detective Tutuola and I have some questions we need to ask you." He watched as she opened the door to her house wider allowing the two men to enter.
"Can I get you anything to drink?" She asked. The two detectives shook their heads from side to side as they followed her. She brought them into a small room that contained a couch, a love seat, a coffee table, and a tv. There were also some pictures scattered around. It was nice that she was smiling and seemed untroubled in all of them. The two men and Toni each took a seat before starting up the conversation.
"I'm sorry to bother you, Toni. I need to ask you about the year you were kidnapped." He watched as her face paled. He felt terrible. He couldn't imagine having something so terrifying being brought up. He knew her time with him was something she couldn't forget, but he was sure it was something she fought to repress. He hated himself for doing it to her, but he would do anything if it meant getting Olivia back.
"He's out isn't he? Is he going to come after me or my baby?" Her panic began filling the room. "I need to call my husband." He watched as she started to get up in order to grab the phone that sat in the other corner of the room.
"He's not after you." Elliot watched as she sat back down, "He is trying to get revenge on me for taking you away from him. He uh- he has my girlfriend." It was then Elliot took his cell phone out and showed the young woman the pictures of Olivia. His Olivia. He watched as she shuttered at the sight of it.
"I don't know where it's at, but we went to this house a couple of times. It was brown on the outside. He said he was going to get it for us. It would be the place we could raise our," she paused as if she were trying not to vomit on her words, "children at."
"Is there anything else you could tell us about it?" Fin asked. He watched as she furrowed her eye brows. It was as if she were trying to concentrate even harder. She was sitting in front of them willing the memories to come back.
"It was a sketchy neighbor hood. I remember hearing a lot of police sirens while we were there. It was also a pretty long drive. It took a couple hours to get there from his apartment. He liked the area because he was closer to his mother. She came and looked at the house with us. He wanted his mom and I to be close. I only remember the house itself because of the basement. There were no windows, no source of light, it was like a dungeon. It scared me. I knew he had something awful planned out for down there." Elliot couldn't stop the smile from forming on his face. She did it. She brought him closer to finding Olivia.
"Thank you, Toni. I can't thank you enough for all of your help." He wanted to reach out and hug her, but remained in his seat.
"Just promise me you will put that man behind bars and never let him see the light of day again." She stated. He knew she was still scared. Hell, he didn't blame her. The man raped her multiple times. He made her dress up and play house with him. She was basically his live action barbie doll. He forced her to play the part of his wife, his lover, all at the ripe age of seventeen. Who wouldn't be scared after that.
Olivia:
"Well, it seems like the IV antibiotics are working for you. Your fever is down." Olivia wasn't exactly sure how long she had been in the hospital, but she was starting to feel better. She still hadn't opened her eyes. She shivered when she felt a cool cloth pressed onto her skin. "Sorry, it's a little cold. I'm just trying to wash you up a little bit." Olivia listened as the nurse spoke to her. She spoke to Olivia as if they were old friends. Olivia appreciated it. It didn't take long for the young woman's voice to disappear as she fell asleep once more.
"Elliot," Olivia rasped out before opening her brown orbs. Her eyes kept darting from one side of the room to the other. She took in her surroundings. The walls were bare besides a chart that introduced her to her doctor and nurse. It didn't take her long to realize she wasn't the only one in the room.
"Whose Elliot?" Olivia recognized that voice. It was perky and sweet. Her voice was the one she remembered the most out of all the nurses that had worked on her. She was the kindest and the most personable in Olivia's opinion.
"Elliot?" Olivia forced out as if it were a question. Her throat was sore and she wasn't sure if she had enough energy to feign ignorance. In fact her entire body felt as if she were hit by a bus.
"You said his name quite a few times while asleep. Even asked him to save you once." The nurse's concern radiated off of her. Olivia was about to speak, but instead of words coming out she coughed. "Here drink some water." The blonde quickly grabbed the cup that was placed on the stand beside Olivia's bed. She put the straw up to Olivia's mouth waiting for her to drink the cool liquid. Olivia was surprised by how little strength she had. When had it become so hard to suck liquid up through a straw.
"What happened?" Olivia mustered the strength to rasp out once the coughing fit subsided.
"You had a pretty bad urinary tract infection, we think it's what led to something called sepsis."
"I'm tired," Olivia whispered as her eyes began to close.
"That's completely normal. You are probably going to be tired for a while. Your body has been through a lot of trauma. Why don't you get some rest. I will be back in about an hour to check on you." Olivia couldn't even thank the kind woman who had done so much for her. Instead she just dozed off. She concentrated on listening to the machines around her. They oddly made her feel safe and secure.
Elliot:
"Melissa Markley?" Elliot asked. He stared at the red-headed woman in front of him. Like Toni, she had also aged. Her features looked familiar, but they also looked different. Her smooth skin was sprinkled with a few wrinkles here and there. They mostly made themselves present around her eyes and mouth.
"You," He winced at the distain in he voice. He forgot how pleasant she was the first time he had to work with her. She was the mother. The one who raised the man who had taken Olivia away from him. Melissa knew her son had done wrong, but she took the blame for his actions. She claimed she wasn't the best mother. Didn't give him the life he deserved. He wanted a wife, kids, and a white picket fence all because it was something she didn't give him growing up. Instead, he got random men coming in and out of the house. He heard the moans created by his mom pleasing them in ways he didn't quite understand.
"Look, Miss Markley, this is important," He looked at her with his pleading blue eyes. He felt like he was so close to getting Olivia back. He wanted her tucked into his arms where she belonged.
"I haven't seen him if that's what you are after. He hasn't spoken to me since I helped you the last time." He watched as the older woman pulled out a cigarette and lit it. The yellow on her teeth let him know she never gave up the habit she intended to all those years ago.
"Are you sure? If you are lying, and I find out that you are lying, I can charge you with impeding an investigation," Elliot knew how she was. She tried to pull the same stunt last time. She put them through the ringer when it came to him. She let out an exasperated sigh.
"What investigation? Last I knew he was still in prison. Falsely, if you ask me." Once the cigarette was nothing more than a little bud she threw it on the ground and stepped on it. Elliot was getting aggravated with the woman. He was exhausted and his patience was running thin.
"Look all I need to know is what house he was looking at when he was with Toni. There was a basement with no windows. I know you know where it's at. Don't even try to deny it." Elliot saw the defeat in the woman's eyes. The smell of smoke danced in the air as she spoke.
"It's about a block away. I don't know why that's important though. It's vacant. It's had caution tape around it since the fire. It's not safe to enter." Elliot felt relieved. A part of him wanted to believe it was the big break he needed. He felt so close.
