Days later at Naru's Apartment…
Naru loved what her fiancé made for her; his special homemade Raman was tasty, even better than Ramen Ichiraku.
Itachi wanted her to be ready for the biggest day of her life so far and the best way to do that was to do it on a full stomach. A meal made with love and labor; he would make an excellent stay-at-home husband someday when she becomes Hokage. He even left a loving note for Naru to tell her to have a good day on her first day of becoming a genin.
He also wanted her to at least try to get along with her brother-in-law. They were going to be a family soon and they need to learn how to get along. Since Naru came into the Elder Uchiha's life, it has been a bitter rivalry between Sasuke and her for Itachi's affections. Sasuke is not the type to share and Naru doesn't back down from the challenge as the two fought nonstop since.
But now she was an official ninja, an official chapter in her life to begin. Maybe it was time to put it behind her and start fresh with Sasuke as Itachi wanted. But if he makes one more crack about her, she was going to get kicked where the sun doesn't shine.
She rushes off to prepare to be a Genin, the first step of becoming Hokage.
At the Uchiha Compound…
Sasuke had everything he needed as he finished the breakfast his brother made for him, while Itachi cleaned the dishes.
"Now Sasuke, when you go to the academy, I want you to at least try to get along with Naru." The elder Uchiha requested of his brother as he scrubbed the plates with his one hand and a crow, like a princess, "After all, she will become your sister-in-law someday and for the sake of the Uchiha Clan, you two really need to get along."
"Hm."
"Now, have fun with your team and make new friends." Itachi grinned as his brother walked to the academy.
The Elder Uchiha sighed as he hoped that the Hokage's pick for the teams shall work and he made certain that the leader of the said team understood how much those two mean to him.
He just hopes they will be okay.
Near Sakura's Home…
Sakura bid her parents farewell as she begins her life as a shinobi for the leaf and maybe if she was lucky enough, be on a team with Sasuke.
Oh, what a dream?
To be wife to Sasuke, it would be a dream come true. But there were others who hold that same dream as her, among them was her rival, Yamanaka Ino. Speaking of the blond, she existed outside the flower shop in the same rush as Sakura did. Their eyes locked with the viciousness of a hundred tigers.
"Well, if it isn't Miss. Pinky and Dreary." Ino smirked, "Looks like you're gonna be late for class, if not late for sitting with Sasuke."
"I'll get sit by Sasuke before you can!" Sakura announced in fiery determination.
"You're on."
Then both rushed to the classroom as fast as they can.
In the Class of Iruka…
Naru strolled into class with the happiest look on her face.
"So, you got your headband after all, huh? A little late but there nonetheless." The lazy friend of Naru, Nara Shikamaru.
"Yeah, it was Iruka Sensei's! He gave it to me after I kicked Mizuki's butt." Naru announced as Sasuke rolled his eyes at the noisy blond.
"Troublesome, troublesome blond. I did hear what your fiancé did to Mizuki afterward. Troublesome stuff." Shikamaru muttered as everyone was shocked to learn that Naruto, the most unpredictable ninja was able to get someone to marry her, thinking she is a him.
"Yeah, but that just shows how much he loves me." Naru chuckled as everyone gasped.
"EH?!"
Sasuke covered her mouth and forced her to take a seat right next to him.
"Stay and talk to no one, Dobe." He ordered in a cold tone as Naru growled at him in irritation at the boy, who is going to be his brother-in-law one day.
"MADE IT HERE FIRST!" They both proclaimed as Ino and Sakura entered the classroom at the same time.
Then they got into a pointless argument. But Naru still likes Sakura, she wanted to have her as a friend, to talk with and learn stuff about girls. The only Girl friend she has is Hinata, don't get her wrong, Hinata is the best friend you can ask for who is the same gender as her, but she wanted to expand her circulation. She wanted to have 'slumber parties' and do other fun stuff.
Sakura seems to notice her and came walking towards her. But before she can push her out of the way, Sasuke pulls her forward by her collar.
"The Dobe stays here. Because certain idiots need to learn to keep their mouths shut." Sasuke coldly informed as he caused outrage in Naruto.
Naru had enough and decided to jump onto the desk where Sasuke is.
"Okay, what is your problem, Teme? I get you're not happy about the matrimony, but you gotta learn to accept it! It's going to happen whether you like it or not!"
"Shut up, Dobe." He growled but it was too late as everyone in the room heard the word.
Matrimony?
Are Sasuke and Naruto-?
No.
Sakura refused to believe it.
Then the horrible happened.
First, the staredown between the two, then…
The kiss!
This led to a massive fight until Iruka came into the room and revealed another truth.
"Team Seven: Uchiha Sasuke, Sakura Haruno, and Uzumaki Naru."
"Huh? Iruka, who's Naru? Do you mean Naruto? Because Naru is a girl name." Sakura questioned as everyone but those who knew were thinking the same thing.
"Because Naru is 'Naruto's' real name. She is a girl."
"EHHHHHH!"
Outside the academy…
Naruto-wait, Naru is a girl and going to marry Sasuke?
No, this was a nightmare, a bad dream.
Sakura needed to be alone with Sasuke to get some clarity. The Uchiha didn't seem to be interested until a crow appeared and Sasuke sighed.
"Let's go, Dobe." Sasuke moaned, being forced to bond then looked to the pink-haired girl, "You too."
Itachi was the man of the house, his rules are law.
On top of the roof…
Food was provided in picnic form as Naru and Sasuke knew who set it up.
It was quite as Sakura needed to ask. She was prepared to hear the answer, whatever it may be, even if it was that they were getting hitched.
"S-so, Naru, you're a girl, right?" Sakura asked, trying not to sound rude.
"Ah, you must have been caught off by the jacket. But yeah, I'm a girl." Naru answered crudely then belched.
"Could've fooled me," Sasuke uttered under his breath.
"And you're engaged…?"
"Yep, and it has been the best few years! He's been so good to me and he understands me!" Naru grinned with a happy tone.
"Shut up, Dobe," Sasuke demanded but Naru ignored him.
"So, y-you're getting married… to-to Sasuke?"
Both of them spat out their drinks and looked at Sakura as if she grew a secret head that did show tunes.
"NO WAY!" They shouted at the same time.
"But then what was that 'engagement' talks about." Sakura wondered, relieved that Naru wasn't marrying Sasuke.
"I'm not marrying Sasuke, the Teme can barely show emotions." She explained, then looked to her ring.
"She's marrying my brother, Itachi." Sasuke sighed as he hated the thought.
"Really?"
"And he is the sweetest guy you'll ever meet."
The girls began to chat about it as Sasuke groaned, not knowing the bird was watching, happy about the progress.
Baby steps, it takes just baby steps.
