First, this is not an update. Second, this isn't about cancelling the story either. So hear me out for a bit.
As I sit down now, I've noticed a few faults in the story. Nothing big at this point in time, except for two major things: One, as far as I understand a jungle existing in this world doesn't make sense because spoilers. And second, I am reworking the slime evolution tree as of now.
Yes. Even though I haven't updated since who knows how long, I am still reworking it because of a few things that wouldn't make sense. First of all, the initial slime stage and how the are spawned and the like. They will be revamped to fit more closely what I envisioned. I could have just changed it to [Lesser Colored Slime] for the first tage and [Colored Slime] for the second, but the matter of the alternative evolutions are important too. There should always be a choice, and not just exist for the purpose of powering up the main character.
As of now, the elemental slimes are done, I'm missing the [Jellyfish] line and a couple of alternates, but it's mostly done. So where does that leave this story?
Well, I'll be reworking it from the ground up. I'm farther in the light novels and I can do a better job if I scrap this whole thing at once and start again. Another thing worth nothing is that I've been powering through Rimuru's anime.
My opinion hasn't changed at all, but I can see a couple of things worth nothing so I might just make Like Water a crossover instead of pulling an OC-centric story like Seiker and Fermi did. Not certain on this, but that leads to how things will be playing out.
I'll update this thread again when the reworked version is up, and delete the previous one (this one) some time after the reworked version starts running. Perhaps a week after, or a month. Doesn't really matter, but there will be news before doing so.
So that's how things will be. I didn't like leaving people hanging since I got a couple of reviews recently. Feel free to express anything that would be worth talking about, feedback is appreciated greatly. In the meanwhile, go read Basilisk and Hardcore Difficulty. There were better planned than my story, and I recommend them greatly, especially Hardcore Difficulty.
Until next time.
-Haste.
