Hello. Been a while. With the season changing to Spring, it's getting warmer now and it just makes harder to sleep. I'm more of an Autumn guy. That and my job has been cutting corners by making the few people left to do more jobs and no extra pay. That just bites!
Got that off my chest! Now I decided to present the new Yu-Gi-Oh! Arc-V opening for Chapter 5, as *spoiler alert* the true plotline will be revealed in that chapter *spoilers end*. Until then, time to witness the conclusion of the Ritual Tournament of Dueling and crown our winner!
Without further ado...LET'S DUEL!
[RITUAL DIMENSION, VILLAGE SQUARE]
"The winner...Kaida Hinata!"
Azara announced as Kyra's Life Points dropped to zero from Hina's final attack.
"All right, Hina won the duel!" Arati, Ruban, and Turya shouted out. However, the rest of the crowd were silent, as were the winner and loser of the duel.
"Perhaps, however..." Yuca muttered out as he stared at Kyra, who was looking down at her feet with her face hidden.
Juan looked at Kyra with a concerned look. "Kyra..."
Kyra lifted her head and puts on a small smile. "...You won, Hina. Congratulations. Now you're in the finals along with Yuca."
Hina was silent as Kyra continued talking. "I gave it my all, but in the end you beat me. I wish we could have a rematch in the future, but now that everyone knows about my true origins, I can no longer stay here. I may not remember my past prior to appearing in Ritual, but these past five years I spend with you and everyone else here...I will always treasure that time...now it's time to say goodbye..."
Kyra turns to face the villagers and bowed respectfully at them, and then starts to walk away.
"KYRA, YOU STUPID BAKA!"
Kyra stopped at the sound of Hina's voice. To her surprise, tears were rolling down Hina's eyes. "Who said you had to go away after this duel ended, Kyra? Not Big Sis Azara. Not Hina. Nobody did."
"But Hina, I-"
"What?!" Hina interrupting Kyra. "Just because everyone knows that you're from Synchro, now you don't belong here?! That's why Hina called you a stupid baka, and it's ironic because you're supposed to be the smart one. These past 5 years you've been with us is proof that you DO belong here!"
"Lady Hinata..." Yuca's nickname for Hina echoing in his mind as he watched Hina speaking her mind.
Kyra gasped in shocked at Hina's words. This prompt Juan to say a few words as well. "She's right Kyra. Even though we have been able to prosper despite the harsh conditions on the outskirts of the village, we still had our fair share of problems, and we wouldn't have been able to get through them without your intellect and maturity. Think about it!"
Kyra recounted of all the time she helped her adopted home and its residence. One time when the village's source of clean water was polluted, Kyra used leftover machine parts to make a special pump to separate the pollution from the water, restoring it. One time there was a dispute between the kids and their parents over doing their chores. Once again, it was Kyra who resolved the issue by making a schedule for certain chores to be done at certain times for the kids and grown ups to follow. Both sides agreed and the issue the resolved. Kyra's most recognizable deed was being to fix and repair the old-styled duel discs for her friends and village kids to use to duel.
"We may have provided you with food, water, and shelter, but you've done more for all of us than we have for you, and we're all grateful to you. " Juan declared with a serious face. "We have gotten to know you over the past 5 years, and I say that heck to where you were born. You're apart of our village! Isn't that right, everyone!?"
Juan questioned everyone present. All the village kids stood up in support of Juan's words. Following their example, some of the adults stood as well. Eventually, everyone got up and spoke their thoughts out.
"Kyra is apart of our village!"
"You belong here with us!"
"We don't care where you're really from!"
"Please don't leave the village!"
"We love you Kyra, and we don't want you to leave!"
For once in her life, Kyra was utterly speechless. Even all the years she grew up in the Ritual Dimension, she always carried a deep fear that if anyone unaware of her true origins were to ever find out the truth about her, they would shun her and wish for her to disappear. She reassured herself that it would happen someday and that it was unavoidable, but now it's the exact opposite of what she expected. The villagers still see her as one of them, regardless of her birthplace.
"Th..."
Kyra's eyes started to water.
"Th..."
Tears flowed down her cheeks.
"Th-"
Hina slowly walked over the stuttering Kyra and gently embraces her. "Hina knows what you're trying to say. Thank you everyone. Is Hina right?"
"Y-Y-Yes...Thank you...Thank you...Thank you everyone...WAHHHHH!" Kyra kept stuttering before breaking down in more tears, returning Hina's embrace.
"Oh...Kyra...Don't cry. If you cry, Hina will...WAHHHHHH!" Hina cried out as she tried to hold back her tears, but failed.
"I'm glad for Kyra." Juan told Yuca.
"Yes, as am I, my friend." Yuca replied.
The villagers watched as the two girls cried and hugged. They realize how much stress Kyra put herself through all these years just to keep them from finding out her secret. Soon enough almost everyone in the village started to get all touchy-feely as well.
"Damn it, you two. You just had to make us cry, huh!" Arati exclaimed.
"I-I'm not crying. G-Girls cry! Men WEEP!" Ruban weeped.
"I'm so happy for you, Kyra! So happy!" Turya expressed.
Azara, who was silent after announcing Hina's victory and one of the few people not crying, stared at Kyra. "Kyra...my dear student. I organized this tournament knowing full well of the consequences if your or one of the others' origins being found out from your summoning methods. I simply only wanted to help you all, even if it meant going through with a reckless idea of mine. I swear to make it to you and the others for that. Despite everything, I am glad that the pressure from having to keep your origins secret has lifted, and I am truly happy for you, Kyra." Azara narrated to herself. After she was done, she turned to Elementio. "Hey, tin ca-WOAH!"
To Azara's surprise, Elementio was also crying. Azara expected Elementio to be drinking another bottle of alcohol, indifferent to everything that has happened to Kyra, but she was wrong.
"A-Are you crying?" Azara asked her robotic companion.
"The feelings...The feelings got me feeling the feels..." Elementio muttered, his answer to Azara's question only confused her more.
"Look, I get everyone is getting emotional over Kyra, but I need you to focus and do a favor for me." Azara stated.
Before Elementio could ask what Azara wanted, Azara decided it would be easier to whisper it into his "ear" so nobody could hear, not that it matter since all the crying going on made it hard to hear anything else.
"Wait, are you sure?" Elementio asked after Azara finished whispering her favor to him.
"Yeah. Can you do it?" Azara asked.
Elementio gave a big smile and a thumbs up. "You can count on me, Azara."
"Thanks, tin can!" said Azara.
"NOT A TIN CAN! YOU ALWAYS LIKE TO TAKE A JAB AT ME! EVEN NOW, WHEN YOU'RE ASKING ME FOR A FAVOR!" an infuriated Elementio yelled out, which surprising nobody heard.
Ignoring Elementio's whining, Azara picked up her megaphone so she could get everyone's attention. "Attention everyone. I know you're all happy about Kyra resolving her inner turmoil, but don't forget that we're still in the middle of a tournament, and we still haven't thanked Kyra and Hina for providing us with such a great match! So let us congratulate Hina moving on to the finals as well as Kyra giving it her all against Hina!"
The villagers stopped their crying to listen to Azara. They wiped off their tears and their cries soon turned to cheers for the two female duelists.
Hina also wiped off her tears and gave everyone a big smile. "Thank you, everyone. Not just for cheering Hina and Kyra on during the duel, but also for accepting Kyra!"
Kyra wiped her tears off as well, but unlike Hina, she didn't say anything to the crowd. She was still a bit overwhelmed by their kindness.
"Before we start the final match, we're going to take a 30-minute recess so we can recompose ourselves. So don't go anywhere, cause you don't want to miss it!" Azara announced.
...
[RITUAL DIMENSION, STORAGE ROOM]
West of the village, there was a small trail led to a huge storage room. It was here that Azara took Yuca, Hina, Kyra, and Juan during the break while Elementio remained with the villagers.
"FORGIVE ME, KYRA!" Azara apologized as she got down on her knees and lowered her head to Kyra.
"Big Sis Azara..." Kyra softly saying Azara's name.
"Even if it was to help you overcome your fears and doubts, I should have never put you on the spot like that!" Azara said as she dug her fingers into the ground. "Whether the outcome came out good or bad, how can I call myself your teacher and caretaker after doing you wrong like that..."
Kyra looked down at Azara for a while, and then start to chuckle.
"Kyra?" Juan and Hina said her name together, wondering why Kyra was chuckling at Azara's apology. Yuca, on the other hand, just silently stared at Kyra and Azara.
"To think you're willing to go this far just to say sorry." Kyra said. "Five years ago, you didn't care much about we felt when you were training us, but now look at you."
Azara looked up at Kyra with guilt on her face. It was true Azara from 5 years agos was anything but caring and understand to almost anyone from the village. Even thought Azara managed to change her ways and become a better person, she knew for a fact that her change couldn't make up for her old ways. "Kyra, I-"
Before she could speak again, Kyra puts her hand in front of Azara. "I wasn't finished yet. It's true that you were a big jerk to almost anyone you can in contact with, but now seeing you trying your hardest to make it up to me for making me reveal my Synchro Dimension origins despite everything turning out for the better...thank you." Kyra held out her hand for Azara. "When you never had me join up for the tournament, then I would still be keeping my secret for who knows how long. Now I feel like a weight has be lifted off my chest, and now I can finally truly be myself, without needing to be concerned about where I came from by the others."
Azara accepted Kyra's gesture and got off of her knees. Yuca, Hina, and Juan looked at them with smiles on their faces.
"Kyra, Hina is glad for you." Hina said.
Juan puts his arm over Kyra in a friendly casual manner. "Yeah, and now we can hang out and duel to our heart's content without any judgement!"
"Hmph." Kyra grunted. "Nice try Juan, but now I got that off my shoulders, I can put all my effort into making sure you don't end up as a dueling maniac!"
"Aw, but Kyra!"
"No buts, mister." Kyra snapped. "I care for you like a little brother, and it's my job to make sure to groom you into a "proper" adult! Dueling will always be apart of our everyday lives but you need to realize there's more to life than dueling! Understand?"
"...Yes, Kyra." Juan reluctantly answered. Azara, Yuca, and Hina couldn't help but laugh at Kyra's lecturing towards Juan.
"Indeed, this dueling tournament has brought many unexpected results, has it not?" Yuca said.
"That's for sure. Everyone looked kinda scared before the tournament started, but we all had such a great time dueling and everyone was drawn into it. Hina is very happy when other are happy." Hina nodded.
"I'm thankful for that, Hinata." Azara added. "I created this tournament to help ease the hearts of our people who grew to fear the game of Duel Monsters after the great tragedy the Supreme Dragon brought to the Original Dimension before it became 5 separate dimensions."
"So we and other young aspiring duelists were no longer required to duel outside of the village?" Yuca imposed onto Azara.
"Yes." Azara answered. "Just because one man was overcome with such malice because of wanting to prove his strength does not mean another one will follow a similar path. At least not if we have anything to say about it. The people of the Original Dimension were too blind to the soon-to-be Supreme Dragon and his dragon servants' growing evil, and that was a costly mistake. However, mistakes can be learned from, so they will never occur again and unless we can overcome our fears and doubts, then I'm just only spouting empty words."
Azara drew her Red-Eyes Black Dragon card and stared at it. "This game means a lot to me, as well as you all. And especially our previous leader and my sensei, Jules. I just want to make our home a place where dueling can be used for fun and forming ever-lasting bonds."
"Well, Big Sis! I say your tournament has done just that!" Juan loudly stated. Like Hinata mentioned before, everyone, mostly the adults, who came to watch the tournament were uncertain of Azara's intentions. Even so, they still chose to give her the benefit of the doubt and observe the matches. The duels of Yuca versus Juan and Hina versus Kyra managed to erase those doubts from their minds, and turn their fears into cheers.
"Well, it's still too soon to say that, Juan." Azara responded. "After all, there is still one match left. The final duel between Yuca and Hina."
"Big Sis Azara is right, guys." Hina agreed. "Hina and rest of us should be getting back soon."
"Actually, I've been wondering something." Kyra stated out loud as she turned her gaze to Azara. "If you only brought us here so you could apologize, why bring us here. There are more private place closer to the village for that."
"Indeed." Yuca added. "Unless...there was another reason of selecting the storage room to converse."
"You two are as sharp as ever." Azara smirked "Yes, there's another reason why I brought you here. As you all know, when the Ritual Dimension was formed, it was created using the leftovers of the destroyed Ritual Dimension, and as you can guess, there were loads of junk lying around on the outskirts of our home. Not to mention that the wormholes that spawns randomly only brought in more trash. When Jules, myself, and a few others were sealing away these wormholes, we would also collect the debris and bring it here to this storage room to fix and repair. That's how you all and the little ones have those duel discs, for example."
"We all know that, Big Sis Azara, but Hina is still lost. Why bring us here?" Hina admitted.
Yuca processed all the information and came to a conclusion. "So that is the purpose of arriving here..."
"Once again, points to Yuca and his big brain." Azara smiled. "I want to end the Ritual Tournament of Dueling with something special after the final match has concluded, and that brings us here. I'm going to need your help, Juan and Kyra."
"Us?" questioned Juan.
Azara pulled out a silver key from her pocket and stood in front of the storage room entrance. "Yup. While Yuca and Hina have their duel, the rest of us will use that time to get everything in order for the big closing! I am going to need both brains and brawn for this task. Can I count on you?"
"Asking me to fix up some machines and devices is like a walk in the park. Count me in." Kyra answered.
Juan, on the other hand, made a frowny face. "It's not that I don't want to help. It's just if I do help, I won't get to see the final duel, and there's one thing I don't do, it's missing an amazing duel, especially the final duel!"
Azara chuckles. "I knew you were going to say that. That's why I asked Elementio to take my place as the announcer for the last match. He'll record the duel with his built in camera for you to watch later."
Juan thought about it for a moment. "Well...okay, I'll help, but only on one condition."
"Condition?" Azara repeated.
Juan turned to both Yuca and Hina. "You two better give it your all and make this final match a duel to remember by!"
"Of course." They both responded at the same time.
"Then what are we waiting for? There's work to be done!" Juan enthusiastically said.
"That's more like it!" Azara shouted. "Yuca, Hina. Get back to the square and duel your hardest!"
"Yessiree!" Hina playfully answered.
"As you wish!" Yuca also added in.
Both Yuca and Hina ran back to the village as fast as they can. Once both of them were out of sight, Azara puts her key into the lock. She unlocks it, and opens the door. "Time to do our part!"
...
[RITUAL DIMENSION, VILLAGE SQUARE]
Once Yuca and Hina arrived at the square, they met up with Elementio who was waiting for their return. Elementio revealed that he knows about Azara's plan and so until she gets back, Yuca and Hina are going to have to match this duel long but enthralling nonetheless. Elementio turned a small knob on his body to raise his volume so everyone can hear him. "THANK YOU FOR WAITING EVERYONE, AND FOR YOUR PATIENCE, IT'S TIME TO GET THE FINAL MATCH STARTED!"
After clearing up their tears from before, the villagers started to chant Yuca and Hina's names in sequence, pumped to see the finale of the tournament. However, they quickly grew silent after noticing the continued absence of Azara, as well as Kyra and Juan.
"Hey, where's Azara? Juan and Kyra too!" Arati asking in confusion.
"Yes they haven't come back yet..." Turya noted.
"And how come you're doing the announcing, Tin can?" Ruban questioned Elementio.
Elementio wanted to correct Ruban, but he knew that this wasn't the time for that. "Ahem!" Elementio coughed. "Our host Azara Kaida had to...prepare the reward for the winner of our little tournament! Don't forget she promised something special to whoever won this final match. It's quite the prize, so great that Azara as well as young Juan and Kyra won't be here to see the final match because they're getting it ready. Have no fear thought, my good people, for Azara herself asked me to not just record the match but also serve as the announcer for this final match! She also ask me that everyone present give their full support to Yucaro and Hinata!"
Elementio's words seemed to have convinced everyone, as they resumed chanting the duelists' names. Elementio, Yuca, and Hina smiled now that they were able to get them focused on the match again.
Elementio took a shot from his bottle. "Without further ago, let's continue!" Elementio shouted out, "On the left side of the field, it's the bright young girl whose smile is as radiant as the fun itself. You know her! You love her! Kaida Hinata!"
Upon Elementio calling her name, Hina gave the audience her signature bright smile, which made them cheer her name louder. Hina responded with friendly waves to her supporters.
Elementio then turned to Yuca. "And on my right side, it's the gentlemen who proves that chivalry is not yet dead. The aspiring chaser of myths and legends! Kaida Yucaro!"
Yuca took a step forward upon being called. He looked over the audience and gave a polite bow to them. Yuca and Hina then walked towards each other until they were a few inches away.
"All right, you two finalists. Time to shuffle each other's deck!" Elementio stated. Yuca and Hina responded with a nod, and pull their decks out of her duel disc. They exchange the decks to each other, and proceeded to shuffle them.
While they were occupied with shuffling, Hina looked at Yuca. "Yucaro."
"Yes, Lady Hinata?" asked Yuca, who caught her gaze but continued shuffling the cards. "What ails you?"
"Oh, nothing." Hina responded, shaking her head. "Hina just wanted to know if you still remember that day?"
"That day...yes, it is a memory that is forever etched into my memories, Lady Hinata." Yuca remembered. "The day that would determine our very futures."
"Yes...and it all began with a duel, just like the one we're about to have...In fact, other than our practice duels, we haven't had a serious duel since that day." Hina explained.
Yuca could see that Hina's usual happy demeanor was starting to slightly fade. "...Indeed. However, I am most perplexed as for you mentioned such a day in the present time. Are you truly certain that all is well, Lady Hinata?"
"To be honest, Hina is a little nervous, is all." Hina admitted.
Yuca stared at Hina for a minute, before putting his hand on her shoulder and putting on a slight, but warm smile. "While it is true that that duel five years and our present duel held much importance, there is one major difference between them."
"There is? What is it?" Hina wondered.
"...Back then, we were all alone, just us two, against the world...fending for ourselves and powering through the most difficult times, with only our cards and hope that we would a place to call our home, with people to call our dears friends and family. Now that hope has become reality. Simply observe your surroundings, Lady Hina...". Yuca answered.
Hina did what Yuca asked, and realized he was right. No matter how many times things looked south for them, they always cling to their hopes, and now they have a warm home with kind people who care for them.
"As well as one more thing. Our last serious duel was life or death. This duel, on the other hand, is to fulfill the wishes of Azara-Sensei as well as restore the beliefs of the villagers. The belief that Dueling is meant to create everlasting bonds and memories! Oh, and lots of the "fun" too!" Yuca added.
"...You always know the right thing to say to Hina." Hina murmured fondly.
"Your smile has returned." Yuca pointed out.
"Thanks to you!" Hina giggled.
"Uhhhh, guys? I know you're having a good time remembering the good times but you've been shuffling your decks for almost 5 minutes now. In that time, you would have already shuffled over 30 decks! I know Azara said to buy her some time while she finished some things, but not like this." Elementio explained, looking at the audience, who were starting to get a bit impatient and confused on why Yuca and Hina were still shuffling their cards.
"A-A-Apologies, my dear friends! How r-rude of me to keep you waiting!"
"Sorry, sorry, sorry! Hina's really done it now!"
Both of them answered with a slight blush from embarrassment. The audience understood, but they couldn't help but chuckle at their embarrassment. Elementio sat down with the audience, and turned on his built in-camera to record the match. Yuca and Hina returned their decks back, and walked back to both ends of the dueling field.
"They're so made for each other..." Arati thought.
"Too bad they see themselves as siblings instead of lovers." Ruban said in his head.
"They would make a truly loving couple..." Turya thought.
Yuca and Hina, snapping out of their embarrassment, placed their deck back into their duel disc. They activated their duel disc and pulled out their starting hand. On cue, Elementio and everyone watching started the countdown.
"5, 4, 3, 2, 1-"
"DUEL!" Hina shouted.
"En Garde!" Yuca shouted at the same time as Hina.
Turn 1: Hina's Turn
Yuca: 4000 LP / Hand: 5
Hina: 4000 LP / Hand: 5
"Lady Hinata, I would be pleased if you executed the first move." Yuca said.
"If you're sure about it, then Hina accepts! Hina hopes you don't regret this later." Hina agreeing to Yuca's offer. "Hina plays the Spell Card Shine Wrap Ray! In exchange for not being able to Normal Summon or Set this turn, Hina can Special Summon a Level 4 or below Sol Nova Monster from her deck. Hina chooses Sol Nova Searing Girl!"
A large red sun appear in the sky, shining a fiery ray onto the ground. A young girl with pink and yellow hair done in a hair bun, dressed in a chef's attire and hat with a small lighter on one hand and a fork on the other stepped out of the ray.
Sol Nova Searing Girl: Level 3 / FIRE / Psychic / 1000 ATK / 500 DEF
"Searing Girl's effect! Hina can now Special Summon one level 4 or below Sol Nova monster from my hand." Hina explains holding up a card and summoning it. "Appear, Sol Nova Beacon Girl!"
Spinning next to Searing Girl was a young girl with platinum blond hair, wearing a beacon light on her white and yellow dress. It also wore a safety hat with a flashlight installed.
Sol Nova Beacon Girl: Level 2 / FIRE / Psychic / 700 ATK / 300 DEF
"Beacon Girl's effect! When she is Normal or Special Summoned, by paying up 500 Life points, Hina can add one Sol Nova Spell/Trap Card from my deck to my hand!" Hina proclaims as she searched through her deck for the card she wants.
(Hina's LP: 4000 → 3500)
After adding it to her hand, she shuffles her deck and reinserts her deck back into her duel disc. "And the card Hina chooses...is Sol Nova Formation!"
"Here it comes..." Elementio said in his head.
"Hina releases Level 2 Beacon Girl, the level 3 Searing Girl in my hand, and the second Searing Girl in Hina's hand to Ritual Summon!" She declared as the star-shaped altar appeared and all the monsters Hina announced turned into small fireballs and were absorbed into it. "Great deity of the Mystic Blue Flames! With your magical fire, protect and be the savior of the mortal Worshippers! Ritual Summon! Level 8! Appear now, my ace monster Sol Nova Lady Solana (LV:8/FIRE/Psychic/Ritual/Effect/ATK: 2800/DEF:2000)!"
Hina's ace was summoned from the altar. She floats down to the ground in front of her owner.
"Lady Solana's effect! She gains Attack points equal to the difference between our life points" Hina explained as the blue flame surrounding her ace grew bigger and brighter.
(Lady Solana's ATK: 2800 → 3300)
"I am quite honored to be facing your most trusted monster from the start, Lady Hina." Yuca politely stated.
Hina giggled. "Thank you, Yucaro! However, she is one of many surprises Hina has in store for you. Hina activate both of my Searing Girls' effects. When two or more Searing Girls are used in the same Ritual Summoning for a Sol Nova Monster, Hina can draw one card for each one! So Hina draws two cards."
Hina dramatically draws her two cards. "Hina sets three cards down! Turn End!" Hina declared.
Once Hina ended her turn, Elementio took his seat along with the others. However he did look a bit anxious. "Summoning her ace and setting three cards face down on her first turn...Is she trying to end the match already? We need the duel to be long and exciting! I know you can be a bit of a ditz, but I hope you didn't forget the plan, Hina."
Elementio was so lost in thought that he didn't notice Arati and Ruban poking at him repeatedly.
"Uh, Mr. Elementio?" Turya asked.
Turya's voice managed to bring Elemenito down to earth. "Um, yes Turya? What is it?"
"Bis Sis Azara, Big Bro Juan, and Big Sis Kyra still haven't returned." Turya pointed out.
"Yeah, those three went off somewhere with Big Bro Yuca and Big Sis Hina during the break, but only Yuca and Hina came back afterwards." Arati added.
"This is the final duel of the tournament. Big Sis Azara planned this whole thing, so she could at least be here to watch. Not to mention Juan NEVER misses a duel EVER!" Ruban noted.
Arati leaned closer to Elementio's face. "I saw you chatting with Big Sis Azara just before she left. So spill it, where did they go? Hm?"
Elementio hoped that his earlier words would keep everyone's attention on the duel, but that wasn't the case. He had to come up with something to make them stop asking question about Azara's whereabouts. After a few minutes, he finally had an idea. He raised his hand, and then slowly lowered it and pointed at Yuca and Hina. "Just watch...and all will be answered soon."
Surprisingly enough, Elementio's words managed to convince Arati, Turya, and Ruban. Arati and Ruban still had skeptical looks on their faces geared towards Elementio, but knowing that Elementio would just another way to avoid answering their question, they relented and turned to watch the duel, as Elementio asked them to. They watched as Yuca began to his turn and drew his card.
Turn 2: Yuca's Turn
Yuca: 4000 LP / Hand: 6
Hina: 3500 LP / Hand: 0
"I shall now activate the Ritual Magic Contract of the Abyss! This is a unique form of a Ritual Magic Card, for it enables me to Ritual Summon one Dark-Attribute Monster. The cost is that I must release a total worth of monsters whose combined levels equal the level of the Ritual Monster I wish to summon. The Ritual Monster I have chose is the Level 7 Dark-Attribute Havok Inforcer Ritual Dragon, my ace monster and my greatest ally!" Yuca explained.
"All right, Yuca is bringing out his best monster too!" Ruban cheered.
"I release the Level 3 Khaos Beast Snake as well as the Level 4 Khaos Beast Horse in my hand!"
Yuca watched as a white horse wearing a saddle with the Kanji for "horse" imprinted on it and a green snake whose belly had the Kanjis symbol for "snake" flew down into a dark hole in the ground as Yuca performed the chant for his dragon. "Blue dragon with steel spikes filled with the darkest of power! Descend to this world and bring forth an orderly chaos and havoc to all in your sights! Ritual Summon! Level 7! Arise, Havok Inforcer Ritual Dragon (LV:7/DARK/Dragon/Ritual/Effect/ATK: 2500/DEF:2000)!"
A purple light burst out of the hole, and then Yuca's ace dragon stepped out of the light and stood in front of its owner. Both Havok Inforcer and Hina's Lady Solana stared down at each other, as did their owners.
"Come on Lady Solana! Win against that blue dragon!" Arati shouted.
"Havok Inforcer! Show Lady Solana why you're the master of orderly chaos!" Ruban cheered on Yuca's monster.
"Ummm...both of you, try your hardest for your owners...please?" Turya added. Lady Solana and Hina couldn't help but giggle at the kids and their cheering, while Havok Inforcer and Yuca gave a simple nod.
"A battle between ace monsters. Hina couldn't ask for a better battle, Yucaro!" Hina stated.
"Indeed. However, your monster is still mightier than my own." Yuca admitted. "However, it is about to corrected."
"Huh, what do you mean Yucaro?" Hina asked.
"I activate the Magic Card Upstart Goblin! By increase the Life Points of my opponent by the amount of 1000, I am permitted to draw an extra card!" Yuca answered as Hina's life points increased and Yuca adding a new card to his hand.
(Hina's LP: 3500 → 4500)
"Not bad, Yuca!" Elementio admitted.
"What do you mean, Mr. Elementio?" Turya asked in confusion.
"Normally Upstart Goblin helps out both players, but in this case, it actually harms Hina!" Elementio explaining. The audience watched as Lady Solana's blue flames grew weaker for some reason.
(Lady Solana's ATK: 3300 → 2800)
"That's right!" Arati noticed. "Lady Solana gains Attack Points if Hina's life points are lower than Yuca's, but thanks to Upstart Goblin, it returned to its original Atk Points, and Yuca got a extra card as a bonus!"
"Hina didn't see that coming. Even so, Solana still has more attack points than your monster, Yucaro!" Hina noted.
"Then I must correct that as well." Yuca declared. "Now for the special effect of my Havok Inforcer. If he is the sole monster I control, I can target 1 Level 6 or below monster in my GY, and then I can Special Summon a Shadow Clone Token to my field. The Token will have the same Level, Attribute, Type, Atk and Def Points as the monster of my choosing. The monster resting in my cemetery that I shall choose is my Khaos Beast Horse! Observe! Shadow Production!"
A black mist oozes out of the ground and flows between Havok Inforcer's ring. It then took the shape of Yuca's Khaos Beast Horse.
Shadow Clone Token: Level 4 / FIRE / Beast / 1400 ATK / 1200 DEF
"Now for the second stage of my turn. I activate the Magic Card Ritual Assistance! I target exactly one Ritual Monster who has been Ritual Summoned using tributes exclusively from my hand, and then I am permitted to Special Summon as many of those monsters!"
Two small holes appear on the floor, with one on Havok's left and the other on its right. Khaos Beast Horse emerged from the left hole while Snake slithered out of the right hole.
Khaos Beast Horse: Level 4 / FIRE / Beast / 1400 ATK / 1200 DEF
Khaos Beast Snake: Level 3 / FIRE / Reptile / 1200 ATK / 300 DEF
"Yucaro now has 4 monsters...That can only mean one thing..." Hina noted.
"Now, my eternal friend. Unleash your effect! Spike Shadow Drain! Once per turn, by targeting one Level 5 or above monster my opponent controls, and all other monsters face-up on the field with a lower level are drained of 100 Atk points times their own level until the End Phase." Yuca ordered his dragon. The spikes on its back ring extended and stabbed Horse, Snake, and the Shadow Clone Token.
(Khaos Beast Horse's ATK: 1400 → 1000)
(Khaos Beast Snake's ATK: 1200 → 900)
(Shadow Clone's ATK: 1400 → 1000)
(Havok Inforcer's ATK: 2500 → 3600)
"Even though Havok Inforcer has more points than Lady Solana, thanks to Sol Formation, she can survive destruction by battle once." Arati pointed out.
Yuca placed his index and middle fingers on his forehead. "The additional power of Ritual Assistance. When my monster owned by my opponent survive destruction through battle, by banishing this card from my graveyard, a Ritual Monster I control can perform a second attack."
"Tch. You already thought up a way to get rid of Hina's ace." Hina muttered.
"Indeed." Yuca admitted. "Havok Inforcer, strike down Sol Nova Lady Solana! Dark Piercing Impalement!"
Following Yuca's words, Havok Inforcer jetted itself into the sky and then flies straight at Hina's monster. However, Hina sported a smile.
"Sorry Yucaro, but you won't stop Hina's deck that easily." Hina declared. "Trap Open, Sol Nova Flames of a Different Dimension! If Hina controls a Level 5 or Above Sol Nova Monster, then Hina can banish it and all of her cards on the field, and in exchange, Hina can banish the same amount of cards on your field, Yucaro!"
"Looks like Yuca walked into that one." Ruban stated.
"Even so, leaving that those Set Cards alone is a even worse plan." Arati explained. "He had no choice but to attack, just to see if those cards would be trouble..."
"Havok, Snake, Horse...Even my Shadow Clone Token...Forgive me." Yuca solemnly apologized to his monsters. However, they each gave a sign that they bore no ill-will toward Yuca for falling into Hina's trap.
"Don't look so glum, Yucaro! Everyone won't be gone forever!" Hina reassured. "During Hina's 3rd Standby Phase, every card banished by Flames of a Different Dimension return."
"That is quite reassuring." Yuca admitted.
"But for now...time to say bye-bye to everyone!" Hina reminded Yuca. "Go Flames of a Different Dimension!" She points to her Trap Card, which covered both Yuca's and Hina's field in a sea of flames. The audience and duelists watched as the flames engulfed all the monsters as well as Hina's Set cards. The flames then compressed themselves into a red mini-sun, which hovered above the field.
"Oh dear, now both of them have an empty field..." Turya obviously pointed out.
"Whew, for a moment there, I thought the airhead had forgotten the plan to extend this duel as long as possible. Usually I don't like being wrong, but I'll make an exception for this." Elementio musing to himself. "Still, I hope they can still make things exciting for everyone present during the wait."
"...It would seem that fate wishes to save the real battle to the end." Yuca sighed. "Very well, then I must prepare countermeasure until the time is right. I shall Set one card and with this, my turn comes to an end."
Turn 3: Hina's Turn
Yuca: 4000 LP / Hand: 0
Hina: 4500 LP / Hand: 0
"Huh, looks like Yuca is taking losing all his monster at once just fine." Elementio surprised at Yuca's acceptance of his current situation.
"It's time for the rest of my deck to shine! Draw!" Hina stated as she drew her card.
"It is now the first Standby of Lady Hinata..." Yuca thought about Flames's time limit on the Banished cards.
"...Hina sets a monster face-down and that will end Hina's turn!"
A small dark blue spiked orb with red glaring eyes and black spiked wiring appeared, floating above Hina's Set monster.
"That's it!? Just a set card?!" Ruban blurted out, flabbergasted by Hina's extremely quick turn.
"Well, what'd you expect, you fool?" Arati questioning Ruban's shock. "They used up their entire hands on their first turns, so of course their next few turns will be over quickly."
"I know! I know! It's just..." Ruban trailed off, trying to find the best way to explain the current status of the duel.
"Boring?"
Elementio guessed the one word Ruban was trying to think of.
"Well, yeah..." Ruban admitted to Elementio's guess.
Elementio only scoffed at Ruban. "Kid, if this duel was boring, then everyone here would have gone home by now, but look at everyone now!" Elementio pointed at everyone around him. They weren't the least bit bored. In fact, they were intently keeping their eyes on the duel.
"See what I mean. You're just a kid, so you're still kinda slow." Elementio said at Ruban, with a mocking tone. Ruban wanted to say something back, but taking the time to realize that he was wrong about the duel being boring, he only groaned in defeat. Arati meanwhile snickered in amusement.
"Ha! Victory for Elementio! Go me!" Elementio gloated inside his mind.
Turya walked up to Ruban and pats his head. "Ruban, like Elementio said, let's just stay quiet and watch until the end. Those two were personally trained by Azara-Sensei, so you know how incredible they are in dueling compared to us. I just know that this is just the beginning of a great duel!"
Ruban looked at Yuca and Hina, who were gazing each other down, and finally relented to watching the duel until the end.
"Lady Hinata, I shall down being my turn! Draw!" Yuca declared.
Turn 4: Yuca's Turn
Yuca: 4000 LP / Hand: 1
Hina: 4500 LP / Hand: 0
"Now a Set Monster..." Yuca took note of Hina's set monster. "Is Lady Hinata attempting to preserve her life points, or...is she luring me to another trap...She has no set Magic or Trap cards, nor any cards in her hand. Normally, I dare not attempt another reckless strike like before. However, Lady Hinata and I have known each other for as long as I can recall. She may be...unique and... one of a kind when in social contact with her loved ones. On the other hand, this is a duel, and this is where she unveils her inner stragical and cunning nature. She expects me to go on the offensive, and unfortunately, that is my only current course of action to proceed. After all, leaving her monster untouched is even more riskier than playing defensive."
"Something wrong, Yucaro?" Hina asked. "Is Hina's set card making you dizzy in your head"
"Most certainly not, Lady Hinata. I am aware what must be done." Yuca answered by shaking his head. "I shall Normal Summon Khaos Beast Goat!"
A brown and white goat with a pair of horns pointed outwards appeared on Yuca's field. It had a black collar with a yellow bell attached around its neck. On the bell, the Kanji symbol for "Goat" was engraved. It dugs its hooves into the dirt, ready to charge into Hina's set card.
Khaos Beast Goat: Level 2 / EARTH / Beast/ 1000 ATK / 1200 DEF
"Khaos Beast Goat! Tackle down the hidden monster!" Yuca ordered. Ram nodded at its master, then charged at Hina's set monster. However, Hina didn't seem to be worried.
"Her expression is calm...Does her Defense Position possess more Defense Points than the Attack Points of my Goat...?" Yuca thought to himself.
"Yucaro..." Hina humming Yuca's name. "You made another risky move, and now time for you to pay the price! I flip over my face-down monster, Sol Nova Detonation Girl!
A small child wearing a militaristic-pattern skirt and blouse, with TNT strapped to her body and waist, jumped at Khaos Beast Goat.
Sol Nova Detonation Girl: Level 4 / FIRE / Psychic / Flip / Effect / 800 ATK / 600 DEF
"Flip Monster!?" Everyone said at the same time.
"A Flip Monster, huh?" Elementio noted. "I didn't expect that move from Hina. Not at all."
"Hmmm, Flip Monster...what were those again?" A woman in the audience asked.
"You don't really know?" A man in the audience questioning the lady's question.
"Oh, well if you know then, educate us!" She hissed at the man.
The man started to chuckle nervously for being put on the spot. "...Oh yes...Flip Monsters...they're, um...monster that...flip up...and...and..."
Most of the kids started to chuckle at the man's stuttering. The man simply turned his head around in a bit of shame.
Elementio sighed and decided to do the educating them himself. "Flip Monsters, also formerly known as Flip Effect monsters, are a special breed of Effect monsters with the Flip Effect. Basically it's an ability where when a face-down monster, like Hina's Detonation Girl, effect is activated when the monster is "flipped" from face-down to face-up. To flip up the Flip Monster, you can do it via card effect, or flip it yourself, which is known as a Flip Summon. However, the most common way that player activate a Flip Monster's monster is when it's targeted for an attack. When it is, it has to be Flipped up during the battle, after which, it's destroyed first and then its effect is activated and resolved on the field during the Battle Step after damage calculations."
Everyone, including the duelists and even their monsters, had different expressions of shock and surprise after hearing Elementio's excellent explanation on Flip Monster and their Flip Effects. However, Elementio was not amused by their faces.
"Hey, I know how the cards in the game works! I just have...more important priorities, okay!? Sorry if I am not into it like our duelists here!" Elementio defending himself. "...Women, Money, and Booze...They're my real passions and loves..."
Elementio whispered that last part to himself. There was some awkward silence for a while there. Hina then decided to resume her explanation to break that silence. "Detonation Girl's Flip Effect! She can destroy all monsters on the field, and for every one destroyed by her effect, we both take 400 points of damage!"
Just as Goat's horn made contact with Detonation Girl, she let out a huge smile as she self-destruction, taking Yuca's goat down with her. Yuca and Hina were soon caught in that realistic, but holographic explosion.
(Yuca's LP: 4000 → 3600)
(Hina's LP: 4500 → 4100)
"Hina's not done yet!" Hina proclaimed. "Detonation's Girl additional effect. When she is sent to the graveyard by her own effect, we both get to draw cards until we each have 5 cards in our hands. However, they can't be summoned, activated, or set the turn this effect is activated."
Yuca and Hina drew their new hands, and studied the cards they had.
"Now it's a whole new game." Elementio stated.
"Quite the unpredictable move, Lady Hinata." Yuca giving his praise to Hina's unique strategy. "Now we both have a fresh new hand. A new world of possibilities have been created, and to think, I am the one who was the trigger to these endless possibilities. Ironic."
"Thank you for the compliment, Yucaro, but even if you didn't attack Hina's monster, Hina could have still Flip Summon on Hina's turn and it would still result the same way as it is now." Hina explained.
"...Perhaps. Perhaps not! That is the charm of Duel Monsters. You may believe you know how the duel will progress, only to be gravely mistaken." Yuca insisted. "Since your monster forbids me to execute any move with my new hand, I will have to declare my turn as finished.
Turn 5: Hina's Turn
Yuca: 3600 LP / Hand: 5
Hina: 4100 LP / Hand: 6
"Draw! Now Hina can put her new hand to good use!" Hina stated with confidence. "First off, since this is Hina's 2nd Standby Phase, Flames of a Different Dimension will return all the Banished card in one more of Hina's Standby Phases, but Hina is going to end the duel before that! Hina summons Sol Nova Flare Girl (LV:4/FIRE/Psychic/Effect/ATK: 1400/DEF:1500). Flare Girl's effect. Since Hina has no Sol Nova Ritual Monster in her Hand, Hina can add 1 Sol Nova Ritual Monster from her deck to her hand! Now Hina activates her Ritual Spell Sol Nova Formation!"
"This does not bode well for me..." Yuca reluctantly admitted as the star altar appeared.
"Hina release the Level 4 Flare Girl on Hina's field as well as the Level 4 Sol Nova Detonation Girl from Hina's hand!" Hina said as both of her selected monsters were absorbed into the altar. "Guardian deity of the Tropical Islands. Accept all offerings from your subjects and empower them with your fiery magic! Ritual Summon! Level 8! Sol Nova Lady Pele (LV:8/FIRE/Psychic/Ritual/Effect/ATK: 2100/DEF:2400)!"
"Yuca is a sitting duck now! Hina just brought out one of her strongest cards, and Yuca only has one set card!" Ruban frantically stated.
"Yucaro..." Turya whispered his name.
"Guys, I don't think Hina is done yet..." Arati murmured, and she was correct.
"Fufu...Flare Girl's other effect. When she is used in a Ritual Summoning of a Sol Nova monster, Hina can add one Sol Nova Spell or Trap card from my graveyard to Hina's hand! And the card Hina chooses...is the first Sol Nova Formation Hina used in her very first turn!"
"Is Hina gonna Ritual Summon a second time?" Turya pondered.
"Not likely." Elementio replied. "Remember, Flare Girl's first effect only worked because Hina didn't have any other Sol Nova Ritual Monsters in her hand."
"Looks can be deceiving, Uncle Elementio!" Hina overhearing Elementio's claim while waving her finger back and forth. "Hina activates the Continuous Spell Sol Nova Conjuring Light!"
A giant glowing orb burst out of the ground behind Hina. It radiated a glow that was both calming yet eerie at the same time. Yuca made a frown upon inspecting the orb with his eyes.
"Don't frown, Yucaro!" Hina reassured. "It may look kinda intimating, but this orbs brings good luck to those of a pure heart. Watch! Conjuring Light's Effect. Once per turn, I can send 1 Sol Nova card in my hand to the bottom of my deck, then Hina can draw one card. If the card Hina is a Sol Nova Monster card, Hina can Special Summon 1 Sol Nova Monster from her hand. However, anything else is send to the graveyard instead. So Hina sends her Sol Nova Flickering Candle to the bottom of Hina's deck and now I will draw!"
Hina puts her fingers on her top card, letting out a deep breath. "Please, my Sol Nova. Answer my plea, and become the guiding light to my path!"
"DRAW!"
Hina boldly shouted as she drew her card. She slowly turn it around, and smiled gleefully when she realized what she drew. "All right. Just what Hina needed!"
"Seems that the Heart of the Cards responded to your plea, Lady Hinata." Yuca deduced from Hina's smile.
"That's right, and now it's time to put this card to good use. Due to Conjuring Light's effect, Hina can Special Summon this monster. Come on out, Sol Nova Glistening Girl!"
A small android child with brown wavy hair wearing a white dress floated down to the field. Its dress, hair and smile glistened with such brightness.
Sol Nova Glistening Girl: Level 1 / FIRE / Psychic / 600 ATK / 100 DEF
"Hmmm..." Yuca hummed, observing this new Sol Nova. "I have yet to seen this specific Sol Nova in person until now. Appearance wise, while it is quite...glistening as the name applies, Lady Hinata went to great length to call her forth. She must possess a powerful effect indeed."
"Hina activate Glistening Girl's effect. When she is Special Summoned, by paying 1000 Life points, and if Hina have a Sol Nova Monster in my hand, its level is reduced to the level of my Glistening Girl, which is Level 1!" Hina explained.
(Hina's LP: 4100 → 3100)
"So instead of increasing the number of Tributes she controlled or their combined levels, she instead lowered the level of the Ritual Monster she planned on summoning. How very...Hina of Hina!" Elementio thought out loud.
"I sense a great power soon to be born..." Yuca hypothesised.
"Hina activates her readded Sol Nova Formation, so Hina releases her Level 1 Sol Nova Glistening Girl!" Hina declared as her monster transformed into 1 huge fireballs which was then absorbed into the star altar.
"Deity of the inextinguishable black flames! Empowered by your subject's fires, awaken from your flames and take on your humanoid form! Ritual Summon! Appear now, the now Level 1 Sol Nova Lady Amaterasu!"
A fair-skinned android women with long black hair done in a hair bun wearing a Japanese styled Kimono dress emerged from the altar. Her hair and hands started to ignite flames black as the night sky.
Sol Nova Lady Amaterasu: Level 7 / FIRE / Psychic / 2400 ATK / 1700 DEF
"A new Sol Nova Ritual Monster..." Yuca said in his mind. "I sense that it will prove to be a difficult obstacle to overcome. Even so, I welcome the challenge!"
"Because of using Glistening Girl's effect to Ritual Summon Lady Amaterasu, she can't attack this turn. However..." Hina explained as she eyed her Lady Pele. "Lady Pele's effect. All Sol Nova monsters Hina controls gain 400 Atk points for every one face up on the field!"
(Lady Pele's ATK: 2100 → 2900)
(Lady Amarterau's ATK: 2400 → 3200)
"Battle! Sol Nova Lady Pele attacks Yucaro directly! Hawaiian Eruption!" Hina commanded her monster. The force of Lady Pele's attack caused Yuca to step up a few steps upon making contact, as well as make a small cloud of dirt around Yuca's feet.
(Hina's LP: 3600 → 700)
"Yuca lost over 2000 LP in one hit!" Arati yelped out. "Man, for such a sweet girl, she's got such a fierce side while she duels. No wonder she uses a deck of FIRE Monsters..."
"Yeah, but for Yuca to take that attack without stopping it..." Ruban questioning Yuca's strategy.
"Turn End for Hina!" Hina said as her two powerful monsters stood side by side, ready for battle.
Turn 6: Yuca's Turn
Yuca: 700 LP / Hand: 5
Hina: 3100 LP / Hand: 0
When the dust around Yuca's legs cleared, there was a large stone tablet stuck to a hovering rock next to Yuca.
Khaos Stone Tablet Token: Level 7 / EARTH / Rock / 2900 ATK / 2900 DEF
"Eh!? Yucaro, where did that monster come from?!" Hina questioned Yuca.
Yuca sports a sly, small smile. "The answer is quite elementary, Lady Hinata. You are the sole cause of the creation of my Token Monster."
"B-But how?" asked a stumped Hina.
"Allow me to provide a simple explanation. When Lady Pele attacked me directly, I activated the Trap Card Khaos Khaos Tablet of Nullification, a special card that can be activated from my hand when I control no monsters. It Special Summoned a Khaos Stone Tablet Token to my field, whose Atk and Def points are exactly the same amount as the damage I've taken in battle, which in this case, is 2900." Yuca explained "simply", air quotes on the word simply.
"Yucaro, you pulled such a sneaky move! Hina is not happy about that!" Hina groaned.
Yuca continued to explain his move. "Indeed, I have. However, I am very well informed of the effects of Lady Pele, which negates the activation or effect of a card on the field by tributing 1 other face-up "Sol Nova" monster you control. So I simply activated an effect from my hand, which was beyond reach of her powers."
"So that's why he took that attack to the fullest." Arati understanding Yuca's plan. "He used her attack to his advantage to bring out a powerful monster."
"And that's not all that his Trap did." Turya added.
"My Trap Card possesses another effect. This Tablet Token here carries a sinister curse, one that will be inflicted to your Lady Pele. Since she struck me directly, her effects are negated, and she is unable to be Tributed." Yuca said, concluding his "simple" explanation.
Hina watched helplessly as a black fog oozed out of Yuca's token. The fog then infected her Lady Pele, causing her to cough and fall on one knee as the fog weakened her.
Hina's eyes widen when Yuca mentioned the other effect of his Trap. "But that's mean-"
"Now Lady Pele can't tribute herself or any other monsters to negate Yuca's field cards or effects anymore." Turya explained.
"Not to mention Pele's power-up effect is sealed too!" Ruban added.
(Lady Pele's ATK: 2900 → 2100)
(Lady Amarterau's ATK: 3200 → 2400)
"You stopped one of her monsters, so you better turn this duel around Yuca before Hina does!" Elementio suggested before taking out and chugging a bottle of booze.
"Quite right, Sir Elementio." Yuca agreed. "Now begins my turn! Draw! Now I shall call on the power of the Quick-Play Magic Card, Khaos Tablet of Teleportation!" A new tablet materialized onto the field. Engraved in this tablet was a Duel Monster Card emerging out a portal.
"This card enables me to Special Summon 1 "Khaos" monster from my deck. However it is not permitted to attack, and it will return to the bottom of my deck at the End Phase. Come forth, Khaos Beast Rooster!"
A small neon portal formed in front of the tablet, and flying out of the portal was a white and blue feathered rooster. Tied to its left leg was a small green tag with the Kanji Symbol for "Rooster" written on it. It slowly descends to the field just as the tablet which summoned it crumbles to nothing.
Khaos Beast Rooster: Level 2 / WIND / Winged-Beast / 600 ATK / 400 DEF
Hina slightly tilted her head in response to Yuca's newest monster. "Why would you summon him if he can't attack and just gets send away at the end, Yucaro?"
"Patience, my dear Lady Hinata. Soon all will be revealed." Yuca reassured. "Now for my second card, the Continuous Spell Card Khaos Tablet of Congregation!"
A huge tablet arose from the ground. Engraved in this tablet were ancient letters, followed by a large circle in the center. Within the circle, the symbol for Yin and Yang was located in the center, surrounded by drawings of the 12 animals in the Chinese Zodiac.
"This ancient tablet foretells the story of how 12 animals were tested and chosen by a certain Emperor. This emperor would assign these animals to represent the years in the land of China." Yuca explained. "And now witness its strength! I now activate the second effect of Tablet of Congregation! I am permitted to search and retrieve either a Khaos Ritual Monster or Ritual Magic and place it in my Hand."
The tablet started to shine a beam of light at Yuca's deck. Yuca then pulled out his deck and folded the cards out. He picked a card among them and added it to his hand. He shuffled the rest of his deck and returned it back to his duel disc.
"Looks like Yuca is really on a roll now." Elementio whispered to himself, impressed with Yuca despite his low amount of Life Points.
"Now I Normal Summon my Khaos Beast Pig to my field! Come forth!" Yuca declared as a chubby pink pig with brown spots all over its body was called to the field. Around the Pig's neck was a red collar with a gold tag, and carved into the tag was the Kanji Symbol for "Pig".
Khaos Beast Pig: Level 3 / WATER / Beast / 800 ATK / 800 DEF
"Yucaro now has 3 monsters on his field." Hina whispering to herself while taking note of the monsters Yuca currently had on his field. "Even when Hina took away his best monster, Havok Inforcer Ritual Dragon, Yucaro didn't let that deter him, and his warrior spirit is still as strong as ever...just like our very first serious duel...but unlike then, now we're fighting for everyone who is supporting us, and for our big sister. That means Hina can't let Yuca turn the tides of this duel to his favor!"
Hina lightly slaps her cheeks and then looks directly at Yuca. "Yucaro, show Hina what else you have! Hina will take it all!"
"It will be my grand pleasure, Lady Hinata!" Yuca answered Hina's wish with delight in his voice. "Now I call on the power of the mightiest of all Khaos Beast!"
"Mightiest of all Khaos Beast?!" Turya, Arati and Ruban shouted at the same in disbelief. The rest of the villagers didn't say anything, but they all had the same look as those three kids.
"By returning my Normal Summoned Pig to my hand, in its place I shall Special Summon this monster from my hand!"
Pig vanished as Yuca added its card back to his hand.
"Gracious scaled beast of the land! Assist and support thy humans and fellow beasts in their time of need! Appear now, Level 6! Khaos Beast Dragon!"
At the end of Yuca's summon chant, a red and gold serpentine-shaped dragon of at least 30 meters in height came running onto the field with its long four legs. Painted in the center of its forehead was the golden-colored Kanji Symbol for "Dragon". It let out a mighty roar which caused the audience to plug their ears. Nonetheless, they were simply drawn to the dragon's size, colors, and of course beauty. The dragon did a little dance involving shaking its body up and down, which earned some applause from the villagers.
Khaos Beast Dragon: Level 6 / EARTH / Dragon / 2000 ATK / 1300 DEF
"There it is...the leader of the Khaos Beasts, Khaos Beast Dragon. In all the practice duels we had with the others, Yucaro almost never called on this one. The fact he called it to face Hina today means Hina is worthy!" Hina said with a excited smile.
"Now for my third Magic Card, Mythical Pact! Now by discarding one Khaos Beast as well as one Khaos Mythical Legend from either my Hand or Deck, I am enabled to draw two cards! So I bid farewell to the Khaos Beast Pig in my Hand and from my deck, Khaos Mythical Beast Phoenix! As a cost, I am unable to Summon monsters with the same name as the ones I discarded." Yuca explained as he sends the designated cards to his graveyard and afterwards, drew two cards to his hand, bringing the total cards in his hand to three.
"Now to invoke the power of my might dragon!" Yuca proclaimed. "His effect permits me to return a card either face-up on my field or in my hand to my deck. In exchange, I am enable to replace said card with a Khaos Ritual Monster or Ritual Magic! The card I shall select is my Khaos Tablet of Congregation! Go my dragon, Graceful Exchange!"
Khaos Beast Dragon whipped its long tail at Yuca's chosen card, causing it to disappear. Yuca shuffled the tablet card back to his deck and then added a new card in its place. He shuffled his deck again afterwards.
Yuca Hand: 3 Set: 1
"I activate the Ritual Magic of Khaos Mythical Ritual! Now by releasing the necessary monsters from my hand or field whose combined Levels equal or exceed the Level of the Ritual Monster I desire to summon!"
"Here it comes!" Arati claimed.
"Yuca's Ritual Monster!" Ruban added.
"Which one will it be?" Turya wondered out loud.
"At this time, I shall invoke the power of my Khaos Beast Rooster." Yuca declared. "When I activate a Khaos Ritual Magic card while this monster is face-up on my field, I am granted the power to utilize 1 other Khaos Beast dwelling in my deck alongside my Rooster as Tributes for the Ritual Summon, but their combined Levels must be equivalent to the Level of the Ritual Monster I plan to request the presence of! My offering are the Level 2 Khaos Beast Rooster on my field, as well as the Level 4 Khaos Beast Dog (LV:4/EARTH/Beast/Effect/ATK:1500/DEF:1200) in my Deck!"
The circle with the images of the 12 Chinese Zodiac animals appeared on the ground. Both Rooster and Dog jumped on top of the Rooster and Dog images, and in a flash, they were surrounded within a white pillar. As it happened, Yuca spoke out a familiar summoning chant. "Majestic creature galloping throughout the mythical world. Cast your great magic and banish all impurities staining the earth itself! Ritual Summon! Level 6! Khaos Mythical Legend Unicorn (LV:6/LIGHT/Beast/Ritual/Effect/ATK:2200/DEF:1500)!"
"It's his Mythical Legend Unicorn." Elementio noted. "It gave Juan trouble, so let's see if Hina has a better time dealing with it."
Hina sported a smirk. "You finally called out one of your best Mythical Legends, Yucaro, but knowing you, you're not done yet, are you?"
Yuca nodded as he continued his move. "The secondary effect of my Khaos Mythical Ritual. The conditions are that I must control 2 or more monsters, including a Khaos Mythical Legend monster. Those conditions have been met, and now by banishing this card from my graveyard, I am permitted to Ritual Summon a second Khaos Mythical Legend monster from my hand this turn as long as the combined Levels o the monster I intend to release equal or exceed the Level of the Ritual Monster I wish to bring forth. I tribute the second Level 6 Khaos Beast Dragon within my hand! So once more, I shall Ritual Summon!"
Yuca's second Khaos Beast Dragon stood on top of the dragon image, and like before, it was engulfed in a white pillar.
"Majestic creature gliding through the open skies. Glide through all those who challenges you with your sublime feathered wings! Ritual Summon! Descend, Level 6 Khaos Mythical Legend Pegasus!"
From the skies, a white pegasus flapped its beautiful large wings on the sides of its back, descending to the field. It bears a striking resemblance to Yuca's Unicorn, except for the wings and lack of a horn. Both Unicorn and Pegasus raised their front hooves and neighed in union.
Khaos Mythical Legend Pegasus: Level 6 / EARTH / Dragon / 1900 ATK / 1300 DEF
"Amazing...So amazing." Turya said, enamored by Yuca's two mythical monsters, and she wasn't alone. Everyone in the audience already seen Unicorn in action from the duel between Juan and Yuca, but seeing two of these noble and mythical creatures at the same time was a whole another experience.
Ruban had a huge grin on his face. "Those horses look ready to stampede over Hina's monsters. This is too awesome for words!"
"You two are right." Arati admitted. "But what really is awestrucking is that despite being reduced to 700 Life Points and taking two huge risks from Hina's cards, Yuca still found a way to defy our expectations and summon up 4 powerful monsters on this turn."
"Just goes to show you that no matter how much of a pinch you're in, there's always a way to overcome it." Elementio stated.
"This is coming from the tin can who gave up on Yuca on his last duel!" Arati scornfully said, giving Elementio a judgemental look.
"Hypocrite." Ruban added.
"Ugh, you kids just LOVE taking a jab at me any chance you get! And for the last time, I am a highly advanced AI, not some piece of tin in the form of a can! How many times do I need to say that!?" Elementio snapped at Ruban and Arati for their remarks.
However, Ruban and Arati went back to watching the duel, ignoring Elementio's complaining.
"Damn it all...When it comes to putting me down, those two get along like best friends..." Elementio groaned in exhaustion. "I get no respect, no respect at all..."
Turya simply patted Elementio's back to make him feel better.
Yuca raised his hand in the air. "The effect of the Khaos Beast Dragon that I once possessed in my hand is now triggered! Since my Dragon was used as Tribute for a Ritual Summon in my hand, Khaos Mythical Legend Pegasus shall receive a power boost equivalent to the Original Atk points of my Dragon until your End Phase, Lady Hinata. In this case, 2000 Atk Points!"
(Legend Pegasus's ATK: 1900 → 3900)
"3900 Atk points?!" shouted Hina in disbelief.
"Battle Phase! My unicorn shall do battle!" Yuca declared.
"E-Even if you attack either Hina's Amaterasu or Pele, don't forget that since these two were Special Summoned by Sol Nova Formation, they can survive destruction by battle once!" Hina claimed.
"That is precisely why neither one of your marvelous ladies are my targets." Yuca countered. "Since Khaos Beast Dog was utilized for the Ritual Summoning of my dear Unicorn, it obtains the ability to strike your Life points directly with the Battle Damage you receive is halved!"
Hina gritted her teeth as Yuca gestured his Unicorn at her.
"Battle! My Unicorn attacks you directly, Lady Hinata! Strike her with Galloping Lance! Now for the effect of my magical stallion!" Yuca stared to explain. "When my horned steed does battle, it shall receive a boost of 300 Atk points per every card on the field! There are currently three cards on your side, and five on mine. Unicorn, Magical Surge!"
Yuca's Unicorn ran towards Hina's field. Purple energy surrounded its horn and formed the shape of a lance around its horn. It leaped above both of Hina's monsters and stabbed her with its attack.
(Legend Unicorn's ATK: 2200 → 4600)
(Hina's LP: 3100 → 800 LP)
"Nice, now their life points are almost equal now!" Ruban stated after Unicorn's attack.
Hina shook her head after getting hit by Unicorn. "Grrr, Hina is still standing, Yucaro!"
Yuca snapped his fingers in response to Hina's claim. "The effect of my Khaos Mythical Legend Pegasus is now triggered! When exactly 1 monster I control gain Atk points while my Pegasus is face-up on my field. The monster I designate for this effect is my Unicorn, who briefly obtained 2400 extra Atk points by his effect. Now every monster on my side gains Atk points equivalent to that value until the end of my Battle Phase, excluding my Unicorn, as well as my Pegasus itself! Pegasus, Zephyr Boost!"
Pegasus flew above the rest of Yuca's monsters, and flapped its wings at them, except for Unicorn. This caused them to reach the same altitude as Pegasus itself.
(Khaos Beast Dragon's ATK: 2000 → 4400)
(Tablet Token's ATK: 2900 → 5300)
"Now Yucaro has three monsters with a combined total of 13600 Atk Points!" Turya stated.
"Even if Hina uses her Formation's protection, it won't stop her from taking major Battle Damage from Yuca's attacks!" Arati added.
"Now my Tablet Token, attack Lady Amaterasu!" Yuca ordered his Token, despite technically being an inanimate object. Nonetheless, the Tablet Token charged a small blue sphere and then launches it straight at its target.
"If this attack connect, Yuca wins both the duel and the tournament itself! But wait, Azara, Kyra, and Juan are still not here yet. If this whole things ends now while they're still busy preparing their surprise, they're all going to force ME to tell them where they're at, and then the surprise will be ruined. Azara has been planning this for months now, and she'll blame me for this. She may have mellowed out, but when it comes to me, I'm like her personal punching bag! She'll reduce me to crushed metal if they end the duel now! Hinata, please, don't lose now for my sake...and my handsome face!" Elementio frantically pleaded to Hina in his head.
As if answering Elementio's pleas, Hina puts her hand forward. "Yucaro, you won't put out the fiery soul of my monsters and I just yet! Glistening Girl's effect from Hina's graveyard! By banishing her and 2 other "Sol Nova" monsters in Hina's graveyard, Hina can then target 2 face-up monsters on the field, 1 with the lowest Atk Points and 1 with the highest. Once Hina does, Hina's life points will increase by the combined total. However, Hina can only use this powerful effect of Glistening Girl once per Duel."
"NO WAY!" Everyone who just witness Hina's last resort shouted these two words at the same time. Yuca, on the other hand, simply gasped.
"I banish Glistening Girl and my two Searing Girls! The weakest monster right now is Lady Pele with 2100 Atk points, and the strongest monster is your attacking monster, the Tablet Token, at 5300 Atk points." Hina stated.
Both said monster started to emit an orange glow, which flowed into Hina's body.
(Hina's LP: 800 → 8200 LP)
"Oh bless your heart, little Hina! Thank you!" Elementio expressed in sweet relief.
"Even with your increased life points, I will not falter!" Yuca claimed just as the Token's attack made contact. "Sol Nova Formation's effect now protect Lady Amaterasu from destruction by battle once."
"True, but Hina still takes damage to the difference in their Atk Points." Hina sadly replied.
(Hina's LP: 8200 → 5300 LP)
"Apologies for the prolonged wait, my dear Pegasus!" Yuca continued. "Do battle with Lady Pele! Aerial Stamp!"
Pegasus let out a neigh as it flew above Lady Pele, and then tries to stomp it with its front hooves.
"Formation was used to Ritual Summon Pele as well, so she is protected as well!" Hina reminded Yuca as her attacked monster grabs Pegasus's hooves, therefore saving it from destruction.
"However, you still receive the damage." Yuca also reminded Hina.
(Hina's LP: 5300 → 3500 LP)
"Now I shall banish my Ritual Assistance from my graveyard!" Yuca declared.
"Ritual Assistance...wasn't that-"
"Precisely." Yuca cutting Hina off mid-sentence, knowing what Hina was going to say. "A thousand pardon for my sudden interruption, but it was the Magic card I utilized on my very first turn. You see, it contain yet another power."
"And what power is that, Yucaro?" Hina asked.
"I intended to utilize its second effect to allow my Havok Inforcer to bypass Formation's effect and destroy your Solana, but that plan became moot due to your Flames of a Different Dimension. However, the current situation has given me the second chance to enact my plan! I Banish Ritual Assistance from my graveyard, and its effect enables my Unicorn to declare a second attack!"
"But with both of Hina's monsters having used up Formation's one-time protection..." Hina trailed off.
Yuca nods. "Exactly! Khaos Mythical Legend Pegasus, strike down Lady Pele a second time! Aerial Stamp!"
Pegasus stomped down on Lady Pele again, but this time was successful as Pele was destroyed.
(Hina's LP: 3500 → 1700 LP)
"Now Yuca has one more monster that can attack. His Khaos Beast Dragon, which now has 4400 Atk Points." Turya took note of the current field.
"And Hina has her 2400 Atk Point Sol Nova Lady Amaterasu defending her." Arati added.
"When Yuca's attack is successful, Hina will lose 2000 life points, and since she only has 1700, that means she loses, right?" Ruban assumed.
"This duel has been going back and forth, so at this point, I can't make any conclusions anymore." Arati answered.
"All we can do now is watch and see when one of the Life Points hits 0! That's when we have our winner." Elementio said.
Yuca let out a deep breath. "Now the time has come if my final attack will achieve me victory or if the belief Hina has for deck will bring forth another miracle to her...Khaos Beast Dragon, conclude this duel and attack Lady Amaterasu! Combustion Breath!"
Khaos Beast Dragon raised it head high and let loose a stream of fire which surrounded both Hina and her sole monster.
"Is this the end?"
This question was on everyone's minds as the dragon's flames grew until Hina and Lady Amaterasu were out of sight. After a few seconds, the flames had dissipated, and everyone saw that Lady Amaterasu was gone, but Hina on the other hand was still standing, and on her field was an activated Trap Card that somehow appeared out of thin air.
(Hina's LP: 1700 → 1000 LP)
"Lady Hinata...please explain..." Yuca asked, caught off guard from Hina's unknown move.
"...Kyra always says this. As a genius, not all plans go the way you want them to, so come up with a backup plan, and a true genius always makes a backup for the backup plan. Hina admits that compared to Kyra, Hina is a novice. However, when Kyra and Hina are together, Kyra helps Hina overcome Hina's weaknesses. So by applying what Kyra taught me, Hina simply had a backup for the backup." Hina said in a serious tone. "When Hina used Sol Nova Flames of a Different Dimension, two of Hina's set cards were banished along with Lady Solana. One of which was this card, Cursed Flames! When this card is in Hina's graveyard or Banished Zone, by shuffling it into my deck, Lady Amaterasu gained Atk Points equal to her level times 100, while Khaos Beast Dragon lost Atk points equal to its Level times 100!"
(Lady Amaterasu's ATK: 2400 → 3100)
(Khaos Beast Dragon's ATK: 4400 → 3800)
"So even thought Hina's last monster was destroyed, Hina is still in this duel!" Hina proclaimed. "Yucaro! Hina really had fun dueling with you, but now the time for the duel to end is coming soon! So in honor of Big Sis Azara's and Kyra's kindness and teachings, Hina will defeat you!"
"Lady Hinata...You are quite accurate. I sense the ending fast approaching, and while I commend your skillful utilization of your deck and your reasons to achieve victory, I too have my own intentions that I intend to see to the end."
"Then let's see who's reason to win is stronger." Hina suggested.
"Indeed." Yuca responded with a nod. "At the End of my Battle Phase, the effects of my cards that empowered my monsters have subsided, excluding my Pegasus."
With Pegasus's effect ending, both the Tablet Token and Dragon returned safely to the ground. At the same time, the magical surge going on within Unicorn also disappeared.
(Khaos Beast Dragon's ATK: 3800 → 1400)
(Tablet Token's ATK: 5300 → 2900)
(Legend Unicorn's ATK: 4600 → 2200)
"Turn End." Yuca declared.
"My turn!" Hina said before conducting her Draw Phase. She started to monologue in her head. "Big Sis Azara...Juan...Uncle Elementio...Kyra...and especially you, Yucaro...Hina has always been helped out every time by you all, and while Hina truly is grateful, Hina also has a sense of guilt...for being unable to do or understand certain things...Big Sis Azara for giving Hina a place to call home...Kyra for showing me creative ways to use my deck...Uncle Elementio and Juan always making Hina laugh and smile with your goofy yet refreshing antics...and Yucaro, for always protecting and caring for Hina since forever...So now, Hina wants to show you a brand new Hina, and the new Hina will do that by winning this duel! Heart of the Cards, illuminate the card to my victory!"
"Draw!"
Turn 7: Hina's Turn
Yuca: 700 LP / Hand: 0
Hina: 1000 LP / Hand: 1
Hina looks at the card and her face brightens up. "Thank you."
"It's now Hina's third Standby Phase. Which means..." Arati started.
"...All the cards banished by Flames from a Different Dimension return." Turya concluded Arati's sentence as the mini red sun that's been hovering over the duel since Yuca's first turn started to shrink as Hina's Sol Nova Lady Solana and her remaining Set Card burst out of the sun and returned to her field. However, Yuca's monsters have yet to return.
"Hey what gives? Why aren't Yuca's monsters back?" A little girl with long twintails asked.
"Where is Yuca's dragon? And his Shadow Clone Token?" A young man with messy black also asked.
"Don't forget his Khaos Beast Snake and Horse!" A small boy with a bob cut reminded them.
"I would answer this one, but I learned my lesson displaying my awesome knowledge to these jerks...well SOME of them..." Elementio thought, glaring at Ruban and Arati specifically.
"It's funny! Usually it's us who would ask these obvious questions, and look how the tables have turned." Ruban stated with both Arati and Turya nodding in agreement to the irony.
Yuca decided to answer their questions this time. "A duelist may control up to 5 monsters, no more, no less. I currently control 4 monsters, meaning I can only return 1 of them, while the other must remain in the Banished Zone. As for the Shadow Clone Token, since Token can only exist on the field and nowhere else, Flames of a Different Dimension essentially made my Token non-existent."
"OH!" The younger members of the villagers utter out in understanding.
"Of course, they don't judge him for knowing Duel Monster stuff. Tch." Elementio complained under his breath.
"Hina knows which one you will pick." Hina claimed.
Yuca gave a small grin. "Return to my side, and enforce your orderly chaos, Havok Inforcer Ritual Dragon!" Yuca's ace dragon emerged from the mini sun, which caused it to shrink even more until it was gone. It landed in the Center Monster Zone, letting out a roar of joy for finally being freed from its prison.
"Now Yuca has a full field of monsters, including a still powered-up Pegasus!" Arati observed.
"Yes but Hina only has one monster on her field." Ruban pointed out.
"Even so, I have a feeling Hina will somehow overcome this obstacle." Turya hypothesised.
"Hina is happy that you're reunited with your dragon, Yucaro. Now the real REAL battle will start. Hina activate the Spell Card Burst Draw!" Hina said. "By destroying one face-up Sol Nova card, Hina can draw two cards, but there's more. When Conjuring Lights is destroyed by the effect of a Sol Nova card, I can add 1 Sol Nova monster from my deck to my hand."
"Now Hina got three cards in her hand." Elementio noted.
Hina studied her hand and then inserted a card into her Spell & Trap Zone. "Trap open! Blaze Shift! Hina pays half her Life Points! By doing so, all non-FIRE Attribute monsters on the field are destroyed!"
(Hina's LP: 1000 → 500 LP)
Pillars of fire burst under all the monster's feet except for Lady Solana. Yuca watched as all his monster he worked so hard to call forth were incinerated to nothing. The villagers were quite taken back from this move, but even this didn't stop them from looking way, as this duel was truly too intense not to look. However, the true shock was when all of Yuca's destroyed monster, except his Tablet Token, reappeared onto Hina's field, with all of them emitting a fiery aura from their bodies. They all stared down at their former owner.
"Once again, Hina turns the duel to her favor with just one card. Crazy." Elementio commented.
"The monster destroyed by Hina's trap are resummoned to my field, reborn as FIRE monsters without their effects. Also, since Hina's Life points are lower than my opponent's now, Lady Solana gains Atk Points equal to that difference!"
(Lady Solana's ATK: 2800 → 3000)
"Truthfully, at this stage of the duel, I am not as shocked as by your previous moves. That is because you always discover a way to surpass my expectations. You truly have grown, as both a duelist and a person. I am truly proud of you." Yuca admitted.
"Yucaro..."
Hina softly muttering Yuca's name.
"However, the duel has yet to reach a conclusion, so please continue with your move, Lady Hinata." Yuca impored.
"Because of Hina's Trap Card, I cannot conduct my Battle Phase, but that's okay! Hina activates a card you used in your very first turn, Yucaro! Upstart Goblin!"
"So that is your current plan now..." Yuca muttered.
"By increasing Hina's opponent's life points by 1000, Hina can draw a card!"
(Yuca's LP: 700 → 1700 LP)
"Yes!" Hina exclaimed as she played her drawn card. "Psychic Sword! I equip this Equip Spell onto Lady Solana!"
"This does not bode well for my current predicament..." Yuca said with a grim look on his face.
A large light-green wavy blade with multiple sharp edges and a black body materialized in Lady Solana's hands. Lady Solana lifted the sword with ease and pointed at Yuca.
"Psychic Sword... it's like a Spell Card version of Lady Solana's Atk Gaining effect." Arati explaining the sword's functions. "Hina used Upstart Goblin to not only get that card but also to increase Yuca's LP. The move Yuca used on Hina is now being used by her against him."
"Wait, that would mean Lady Solana is going to get a Double Atk point boost." Ruban stated.
"You're catching on." Arati said.
"Since the difference between our life points is now 1200, Lady Solana's Atk points increase by twice that moment. Watch!" Hina stated as her ace monster grew even stronger.
(Lady Solana's ATK: 3000 → 4000 → 5200)
"Turn End." Hina declared. "Yucaro, you must now face your own monsters plus Hina's empowered Lady Solana. As much as Hina wants to win this, Hina also wants to see if that will of yours is wavering at these overwhelming odds. Will you lose hope and surrender or will you continue to hope for your own miracle and overcome this challenge I set for you!?"
Everyone turned to Yuca to see how he would respond. Yuca stood silent and motionless for a while there. Then he reached for the top card of his deck.
"...Lady Hinata, this is my answer to your challenge!" Yuca hollered, accepting Hina's challenge. "Draw!"
Turn 8: Yuca's Turn
Yuca: 1700 LP / Hand: 1
Hina: 500 LP / Hand: 2
Upon seeing Yuca's taking on Hina's monsters without even hesitating a bit, everyone couldn't help but happily cheer on the two. The longer this final duel continued, the more fixated they were on.
"Get him, Hinata!"
"Defeat her, Yucaro!"
"Don't let him beat you, Hinata!"
"Show your strong resolve, Yucaro!"
The people who were cheering for Yuca's victory and those who were on Hina's side looked at each other and laughed and smiled.
"Keep it going, both of you!"
"Lady Hinata, while I do commend you for your own resolve, it would seem you are actually fail to recall the TRUE meaning of this duel, and the tournament as a whole." Yuca stated.
"I-I-Hina doesn't know what you mean, Yucaro." Hina lied.
"The fact that you were almost refer to yourself as in the first person instead of the third person explains it all." Yuca noticed. "In fact, I noticed this change in your demeanor halfway through the duel. To be honest, you were becoming someone else entirely."
Hina remained silent after Yuca said that part.
"Well then, I will not force you to speak your mind. Instead I will simply discover this change on this turn, as I defeat you." Yuca promised.
"Well then, Yucaro...show Hina you have the power to back up your words!" Hina hissed.
"Very well." Yuca looked at the sole card in his hand and cracked a smile. "The Heart of the Cards have guided me...and they provided me with the key to victory."
"Well, don't keep us all in suspense! What did you draw, Yuca!?" Arati barked, speaking on behalf of the anxious audience.
"I activate the Magic Card Ritual Present!" Yuca replied. "For every Ritual Monster on the field, I am permitted to draw 1 card per monster! There are currently four Ritual Monster, so I draw four cards!"
Yuca drew a new hand, and smirked. "I activate the Magic Card Khaos Boom. I discard my Khaos Beast Ox and I am enabled to destroy one monster on your field, Lady Hinata. Rather, I should be precise to say one of MY monsters. I destroy the Havok Inforcer Ritual Dragon that you took control of!"
A large castrated brown bull with two curved horns and a gold earring with the Kanji Symbol for "Ox" disappeared. Then old bandages wrapped themselves around Yuca's former dragon, and then started to squeeze the dragon within its bindings until it got destroyed.
"That's one less monster than Yuca has to face now!" Ruban said.
"And since it was Yuca's monster to begin with, Havok goes to his graveyard!" Turya added.
"Next I shall activate my Monster Reborn, and with its resurrection effect, I shall Special Summon a monster from my graveyard! Return to my field, Havok Inforcer Ritual Dragon!"
Havok Inforcer jumped out a white hole in the ground courtesy of Monster Reborn, letting out a powerful roar as it returned to its owner's side.
Elementio stood up and faces everyone watching the duel. "All right, everyone! Time for me to do some commentary! Now do you know what Yuca is going to do next?!"
"Activate Havok Inforcer's effect!" was their response.
"Indeed so, everyone! By targeting a Level 6 or Below Monster in my graveyard, I am able to Special Summon a Shadow Clone Token with the exact Level, Attribute, Type, Atk and Def Points as the monster of my choosing. I shall choose the leader of the Khaos Beast, the Khaos Beast Dragon in my GY! Shadow Production!"
A black mist oozes out of the ground and flows between Havok Inforcer's ring. It then took the shape of Yuca's Khaos Beast Dragon.
Shadow Clone Token: Level 6 / EARTH / Dragon / 2000 ATK / 1300 DEF
"Now I activate the effect of my Havok Inforcer. Once per turn, I can target one Level 5 or above monster my opponent controls, and all other monsters face-up on the field with a lower level are drained of 100 Atk points times their own level until the End Phase and my Havok Inforcer receives those lost Atk points. In exchange, my Havok Inforcer must do battle only with the targeted monster. I shall select none other than Hina's empowered Sol Nova Lady Solana! Spike Shadow Drain" Yuca ordered his dragon as it released its spiked black tendrils from its back ring and stabbed every monster present minus Lady Solana.
(Khaos Beast Dragon's ATK: 1400 → 800)
(Tablet Token's ATK: 2900 → 2200)
(Legend Unicorn's ATK: 2200 → 1600)
(Legend Pegasus's ATK: 3900 → 3300)
(Shadow Clone Token's ATK: 2000 → 1400)
Havok Inforcer's body emitted a blue aura from its body as its power grew.
(Havok Inforcer's ATK: 2500 → 3100→ 3800→ 4400→ 5000→ 5600)
"5600 Atk points?!" exclaimed a shocked Hina. "Even while Hina made Yuca's other monsters turn against him, their power still converges to his dragon..."
"Exactly." Yuca nodded. "Just enough to destroy your ace monster. Havok Inforcer Ritual Dragon, attack Sol Nova Lady Solana! Dark Piercing Impalement!"
Blue flames blasted out of Havok Inforcer's heels, making it airborne. It turns its sights on Hina's only monster.
"Lady Solana won't go down without a fight! Attack, Lady Solana with Blazing Psychic Sword!" Hina yelled out as Sol Nova's sword was engulfed by Solana's fire, and taking the shape of a bigger sword made out of fire. It then flew towards Havok Inforcer, who blasted itself towards Solana.
"Our finalist's ace monsters are almost about to clash! Is this the end for Hinata!?" Elementio announced out loud so everyone could hear him.
"Come on Hina and Solana! Show Yuca and his dragon some girl power!" Arati cheered.
Hina revealed one of the two remaining cards in her hand. "Sol Nova Radiance Girl's effect! When a Sol Nova monster Hina control battles, by sending this card from my hand to the GY; that monster gains ATK equal to the ATK of the opponent's monster it is battling, until the end of this turn!"
The ghostly yet shining image of a young girl with red, thick, curled-pigtails wearing a light blue and white dressed tied with a orange sash flew into Lady Solana's back.
(Lady Solana's ATK: 5200 → 10800)
"10800!? That's crazy!" Arati and Ruban shouted out at the same time.
"Now Hina's monster is the strongest again, and Yuca's monster can't stop its attack!" Elementio hollered out with feeling.
Lady Solana thrusted her blazing sword at Havok Inforcer, stopping it in its tracks. Havok Inforcer tried to block the sword but eventually it was overpowered as the fire from the sword caused the Ritual Dragon to explode. The explosion created a cloud of smoke that surrounded Yuca.
"Is the duel over...Has Yuca lost?" Turya said while holding her hands together.
Hina lets out a deep breath. "Sorry Yucaro, but this is Hina's-"
"Do not jump to conclusions yet, Lady Hinata!"
Yuca interrupting Hina when she thought she had won the duel. When the smoke cleared, Yuca was still in the duel.
"Yuca isn't out of this duel yet, folks!" Elementio exclaimed. "But how did he survive from that battle?!"
Yuca cleared his throat. "Firstly, another thousand apologies for interrupting you a second time Lady Hinata. As for how I still stand, Lady Hinata, you mentioned that Kyra assisted you in concocting emergency plans during a duel, am I right?"
Hina simply nodded yes to Yuca's question.
"Well, while one must always expect the unexpected, whether in dueling or in life, that also serves as a weakness. As one overthinks of possible outcomes to occur in the future, they become blind to what is in front of them in the present." Yuca explained in big words.
"Uh..." Everyone in the audience muttered, totally lost on what Yuca's point. However, Hina's change in expression to shock showed that she knew what Yuca was getting at.
"Ahem." Elementio coughed, deciding to explain Yuca's words in simpler detail. "What Yuca is trying to say is that because Hina was setting up moves to stop any of Yuca's potential moves, she ignored the card that was in front of her since Yuca's first turn. That Open Set Card!"
Elementio pointed to the open Trap Card next to Yucaro.
"No way!" Hina gasped. She was so focused on Yuca's other cards, she didn't pay any attention to Yuca's set card, despite being so obvious. "This can't be..."
"I can't believe I forgot about that card, too!" Arati reluctantly admitted.
"I just assumed it was a bluff or something, seeing that he didn't activate at all until now." Ruban said.
"Yucaro's Set card misled us all..." Turya smiled.
"Trap Card Knight to Fight! When a monster I control is destroyed in battle, by offering half my Life Points, Battle Damage is reduced to 0, and because my Life Points have decreased and the difference between our Life Points is now 350, the Atk Points of Lady Solana is reduced by 850 twice because of her effect as well as the effect of Psychic Sword!"
(Yuca's LP: 1700 → 850 LP)
(Lady Solana's ATK: 10800 → 9950 → 9100)
"But that is simply the first step! Now I am enabled to call forth my Khaos Mythical Legend Black Knight (LV:7/DARK/Warrior/Ritual/Effect/ATK: 2300/DEF:1500), ignoring its usual summoning conditions!" Yuca explaining the second effect of his Trap Card.
From above the skies, Yuca's knight landed onto the field, creating a crater under his feet as it did.
"It's almost the end of the duel, and yet Yucaro brought out his OTHER ace monster, the Black Knight! Let's see if his Knight fares any better than his dragon did!" Elementio shouted out.
"When Yucaro's dragon was defeated, his Knight came s quickly as he could to help and avenge him. Just like how Yucaro always helped Hina before we met Big Sis Azara and the others..." Hina calmly said in her mind.
"Black Knight, activate your effect!" Yuca commanded. "Once per turn, I can target 1 monster on the field of my opponent, and then my Atk Points of my Knight will become the equivalent of that Value! Go, Kuroshin Sword!"
Yuca declared as Black Knight took its black sword out of its sheath. It lifted it high in the air, and then the sword creates a shadowy image of Lady Solana herself. The Lady Solana shadow is absorbed into the sword and then into the Black Knight itself. The sword itself then grew to several sizes until it was the same size as Lady Solana's flaming Psychic Sword.
(Black Knight's ATK: 2300 → 9100)
"Now Black Knight and Lady Solana's power are the same..." Hina noted.
However, Yuca waves his index finger back and forth. "When Black Knight does battle with a monster with the same amount of Atk points as itself, it is not destroyed in battle! Now Black Knight, have at thee with the fair Lady Solana!"
Both monsters leaps towards each other and then clashes their swords together. They were evenly matched.
"It's a battle of swordsman and swordswomen!" Elementio screamed with excitement.
"Even if Hina's monster is the only one destroyed, Hina will still have life points left!" Hina claimed.
"I am afraid this is the final turn, Lady Hinata." Yuca nonchalantly said. "The final effect of my Knight to Fight! When the monster summoned by this card does battle, it shall gain 500 Atk Points for every Standby Phase my Trap remained set!"
"500 Atk Points? But..." Hina gasped.
"Wait, for every Standby Phase? How many Standby Phases has it been now? I kinda lost count." Ruban asked.
"It was the second turn of the duel when Yucaro set his trap card..." Turya stated.
"And now it's the 8th turn of the duel, meaning..." Arati added.
"Six Standby Phases is the number my Trap has remained Set until now. So my Knight gains..." Yuca remarked.
(Black Knight's ATK: 9100 → 12100)
"12100 Atk Points!?" Hina, Elementio, and everyone else claimed at the same time.
"My Knight, attack with Dark Blade of Honor!"
Yuca yelled out at the top of his lungs as Black's Knight sword started to cut through the blazing Psychic Sword.
"...Yucaro...You really are amazing...Thank you for this wonderful duel...I'm glad to be your best friend and sister..."
Hina final thoughts as Black Knight cuts down Solana's sword and seemingly Solana herself. At first nothing happened. Then Lady Solana turned her head at the Knight and lets out a warm smile, just before a large cut appeared on her dress and she exploded as a result. Black Knight's sword returned to normal size, which it tossed into the air. It tilted its body slightly to the left, so that the sword landed right back into its sheath safely.
Hina fell to her knees as her monster was destroyed.
(Hina's LP: 500 → 0)
WINNER: Yuca
Yuca: 850 LP / Hand: 1
Hina: 0 LP / Hand: 1
"It's over! The winner of the final duel and the Ritual Tournament of Dueling is Kaida Yucaro!" Elementio happily declared. "This duel was long and with lots of unexpected surprises and close calls for our duelists, but in the end, Yuca was able to win this duel!"
Everyone was ready to cheer Yuca for his victory, until-
"Halt! Save your applause for the future!"
Yuca's words were heard by everyone. Confused at first, they respected Yuca's wish and stayed quiet. Yuca gave a small nod and then looks up at his Knight as it was disappearing now that the duel was over, and then looks at his deck.
"Black Knight, as well as Havok Inforcer and my other friends...together we were able to achieve victory, and it is all thanks to your efforts, and for that, I am grateful. Until the next battle!" Yuca thanking his deck in his mind. He then started to walk towards the defeated Hina.
"What's Yuca going to do now?" Arati wondered.
As soon as Yucaro was standing close enough to Hina, she looked up. "Yucaro...Hina lost...and failed to keep her own promise..."
"So that is the reason why you became more serious and stoic during the final turns of the duel..." Yuca replied. "I presume, that your dear wish was to achieve victory in our duel to prove yourself as mature duelist and person? Am I correct?"
"Yes, Yucaro...you are...but in the end, Hina still lost, and that just proves that Hina hasn't changed at all!" Hina exclaimed as tears flowed down her cheeks. "Hina has failed Big Sis Azara...Kyra...and even you!"
Yucaro stared at the crying Hina for awhile. He proceeded to wipe her tears off her face with his finger. "Lady Hinata...Observe all around you."
"But why-"
"Trust me, my Lady."
Yuca reassured Hina with a kind smile. She did as she was told, and from her eyes, she saw the people who watched and supported her and Yuca during their duel. The people, mainly the adults, who once feared Duel Monster due to the actions of the Supreme Dragon, were now looking at her and Yuca with life and joy in their eyes.
"I-I mean, Hina sees everyone who cheered us on during the duels with us, Kyra, and Juan...they all looked super happy during every move we all made." Hina replied.
"Did everyone enjoy watching our monsters dance in the art of dueling? Was everyone entice by our strategies and counter-strategies? Did any of these fine people displayed a hint of fear or distress? Did-"
Yuca prattled questions to Hina before she cut him off. "Yucaro, you're rambling on again..."
"Heavens! Forgive me!" Yuca bowed. "Azara-Sensei created this entire dueling tournament for us, as well as those were unable to participate, for one purpose. It was not limited to the victor and the defeated."
Hina's eyes widen. "It was to bring the joy of Duel Monsters back to everyone who lost it when the Supreme Dragon attacked the Original World..."
"Indeed. You proclaimed that you failed to display your growth and maturity? How vexing..." Yuca chuckled. "...because in my eyes, you have grown into a lovely woman...kind, caring, supportive...always brightening the dark cloud that looms over those who are feeling negative emotions. You proved to be a difficult opponent as well. Had you caught on to my Set Card, then this victory would be yours. Now tell me, did anyone assist you in coming up with your strategies? Was there someone who told you what card to play? No, it was all you Lady Hinata, you and your belief in your deck."
Hina's face started to look less sad as Yuca continued. "I am been the victor now, but the purpose of this entire tournament was to speak to our audience. It was to communicate these words: Duel Monster are not our enemies. They are our friends. And we did just that. We are all the winners!"
Yuca slowly embraced Hina in a warm hug. "I am proud of you Lady Hinata of who you become today."
"Yucaro...Your words touch Hina...To think Hina was so caught up with winning this duel at any cost, that Hina forgot why we were dueling in the first place..." Hina sadly admitted.
"Did you enjoy yourself." Yuca asked.
"...Yes, very much." Hina replied.
"Then that is enough."
"Yes...Thank you Yucaro."
The two embraced each other a bit closer, which made the villagers watching to applaud for both of them. Yuca and Hina let go of each other afterwards, except their hands. They turn to everyone, and bowed, which made them applaud and even cheer even louder.
"You know, I think I like this ending to the tournament better, don't you?" Turya asked her friends.
"Yeah..." Arati and Ruban answered.
"Those two are SO made for each other...sigh..." The three of them thought while saying their words.
Yucaro started to chuckle to himself, which made Hina tilt her head a bit. "Hey, what's so funny, Yucaro?"
"Truth be told, the sudden change in your demeanor was quite frightening. Terrifying even!" Yucaro joked.
"Hey! That's so mean of you, Yucaro. Hina is not scary!" Hina pouted.
"There is the Hina I know and care." Yuca stated.
Hina couldn't help but smile in response. "Hina never knew you could make jokes, Yucaro."
"There is that bright smile I know very well." Yuca smiled. "As for the humor, there is much you do not know about me. I am an enigma, after all."
Elementio stared at Yuca and Hina. "Azara, look likes your crazy plan was a success, huh?" Elementio fondly admitted.
"You've all done well! Excellent work!"
Azara's voice boomed as everyone turned around. They saw Azara coming towards them pulling a handle attached to a cart which had a large box on top of it. The box itself was covered in a white sheet. Behind her were Juan and Kyra, who were also pulling smaller covered box, over to everyone. Once the three were close enough, Azara walked over and placed her hands on top of the head, with a prideful smile on her face.
"Sorry for the long wait you two." Azara apologized while scratching the back of her head. "Things took longer than expected getting everything ready, but you managed to prolong the final duel just enough for us to get here on time."
"No need for gratitude towards me. Lady Hinata was simply a difficult opponent to overcome during our duel. Direct all your gratitude to her, Azara Senpai." Yuca honestly stated.
"B-But Yucaro, you did so well too! And you even won the duel! We wouldn't be here at this point with you. You dueled just as hard."
"AWWWWWWW!" Juan whined.
"Juan my dear friend, what ails you?" Yuca asked in concern for his friend.
Kyra sighed. "Don't worry, he isn't sick. He's just bummed that he couldn't watch your duel in person, and you two talking about how great it was is making him feel worse."
"But Elementio recorded the duel, right?" Ruban asked.
"Well yeah I did, but-"
"IT'S NOT THE SAME!" Juan interrupted Elementio. "The final duel where Yuca and Hina would give their all! I'm already bummed enough I wasn't able to be apart of it, but when I was asked to help Kyra and Azara out, I couldn't be rude and agree to help. Every minute I was in torture because I was missing an awesome duel between our two strongest duelists! I could just watch the video Elementio recorded, but it won't be the same..."
"Oh, for goodness sake." Kyra said in exasperation, putting her hand over her face.
The villagers and Azara's group couldn't help but playfully laugh at Juan's misfortunate.
Juan then suddenly jumped out of his sulking stage and faces Kyra. "Only one thing to do now! Kyra, you and me, battle for the Bronze Battle! Here and now!"
Before Kyra could give a response, Azara got in between them. "Now hold on Juan! As much as I would like to see you dueling Kyra, we must forgot that until the special prize is passed out, this tournament is far from over!"
"Oh right! Hina totally forgot about the prize." Hina remembered. "Well Yucaro. You won the duel, so it's all yours."
"Lady Hinata...Very well, if that is what you ask of me, then I shall accept this reward with honor." Yuca stated as he stepped forward.
However, to his confusion, he was met with laughter coming from Azara.
"Hina is lost? Why is Big Sis laughing at Yucaro?" Hina asked Kyra and Juan, only for them to also laugh. Soon the entire village was lost on what was so humorous.
"Sorry, sorry you two." Azara apologized. "The thing is, I actually have four prizes to hand, not just one."
Before Yuca or Hina could ask any questions, Azara raised her hand so she could clear things up. "As you know, I intended to make this a big tournament, where you guys were to duel against Iresu's and Galen's students as well. However, as you already know, they weren't able to come."
"That's a relief." Kyra bluntly admitted. "I don't mind the others so much, except for two of them. That dirty cavewoman Saha and the sadistic creep Euro."
"Now, now Kyra. That's enough of that. I made this tournament to bring the love of Duel Monsters back to our people. Honestly, I thought I would need every single one of our skilled duelist to pull it off, but I am glad we were able to pull it off with just you four." Azara expressed in relief.
"That is quite excellent to hear, but you are off-topic now, Azara-Sensei." Yuca reminded Azara.
"Right!" Azara went under the cover and pulled a small gold, silver, and bronze treasure chest and showed it to everyone. They were quite awed at the chest.
"Wait, so the prize is treasure?" Ruban asked.
"No offense, Big Sis Azara, but this doesn't really fit into the whole theme of the tournament." Arati remarked.
Azara shook her head in response to those questions. "No, no. The prize inside the chest has no monetary value whatsoever. Better if I show it to you." Azara opened the chest, and inside were a pair of golden arm bands with a oval-shaped blue jewel in the center.
"So pretty..." Hina muttered.
"These arm bands...are a memento of our late leader, Jules-Sama..." Azara solemned said. She looked down at her breasts with a sad look, before she shook her head and resumed speaking. "She handmade them herselves, and just before she passed away, she asked me when the day I wanted to bring the joy of Duel Monsters back to everyone in our village, that I passed these on those who were worthy of owing."
Yuca observed the armbands for a bit, and then realized something. "Azara-Sensei, where are the other two armbands located? I only see half of what you stated prior."
Azara simply pointed at Kyra and Juan, who then revealed the other two arm bands on their left arms.
"Azara gave these two to us right after you two left to duel in the final match. Honestly it's not really my style, but if it's a memento of Jules-Sama, then I will wear it with pride" Kyra explaining how she obtained her arm band.
"Same here!" Juan said.
"Hm. And now the last two are for you. Take them." Azara offered the last 2 arm bands.
"But we didn't-"
"Win?" Azara guessed what Hina was going to say next. "I have a feelings it's been said a lot now, but the purpose was to rid the seed of fear that was implanted into our people by the hands of that dreaded Supreme Dragon."
Azara turns to the villagers. "Before this all started, I asked you to keep your opinions to yourself about going through with the tournament, but now that it's done, has your faith in dueling been restored? Has the fear of the Supreme Dragon and his brutal use of dueling been lifted from your hearts?"
The villagers started to chatter among each other. After five minutes or so, a few people stepped forward.
"At first, we honestly thought you had lost your mind, Azara-Sama...This whole tournament. After what the Supreme Dragon had done to the Original Dimension, we all thought that it was best if none of us or our children ever touched a card again, at least not inside the village itself..." A tall short-haired man expressed.
Azara's facial expression started to turn bitter until-
"But now...seeing these four duelists you personally trained, dueling as hard as they can but also remembering to have a good time while doing so. Their monsters as well. As long as there is someone who can guide our young children to a good future devoid of the greed and power that created the Supreme King...Then we wish for them to become good and kind-hearted duelists and people." A long-haired woman said in confidence.
"Even after finding out about Kyra and the few others being from the other dimensions, they have as much heart and care in dueling as much as anyone born here!" A shirt-haired woman stated.
"Yeah, that's right! We had fun dueling back we were our own age. To stop them from having the same joy we once felt...it'd just be criminal." A dark-skinned man smirked. "Besides, I miss dueling so much. I felt so much passion and happiness as I dueled with my deck! I want to feel that joy again!"
"Me too!"
"I wanna get back into dueling again!
"Ditto!"
"Dueling! Dueling! Dueling!"
Azara's grin grew bigger with everyone accepting dueling once more into their lives. "Thank you everyone! From the bottom of my heart, I thank you all! I know that our late leader Jules-Sama is looking down on all of us with a smile. As long as we have her watching out for us, and as long as we never forget the real reasons we duel, our village will prosper!"
"YEAH!" Arati, Turya, and Ruban yelled out, with Elementio chuckling.
"YEAH!" Everyone else cheered out.
With the approval from everyone, Azara once again turns to Yuca and Hina. "Now please accept this, for you all have done a great deed today!"
"Yes, Big Sis Azara!" Hina agreed as she took one of the arm bands and placed it on her left arm like Kyra and Juan. "Giggle! A bracelet on Hina's right arm and an armband on Hina's left! Hina will treasures these gifts forever!"
Yuca smiled as he took the last armband and like the others, puts on his left arm. "This gem color...I feel a mysterious power as I gaze deeply into it..."
"Jules-Sama told me this about those gems embedded in those armbands...that whoever feels conflicted in the heart, mind, and soul, this gem will help clear the doubts and show you the way." Azara explaining the purpose of the gems. "While I don't exactly what she meant by that, whenever you feel lost, just look into that deep blue color and you'll feel better!"
"Right!" Yuca, Hina, Juan, and Kyra answered in union.
"And now for the other big surprise." Azara revealed.
"Other? You mean there's more?" Turya asked.
"What is it? Another tournament?" Arati guessed.
"Nope!" Azara assured. "If my plan for the tournament went well, I would want to do something as thanks to you all. And this is my way of showing it. Kyra, Juan!"
Both of them shook their heads and took the covers off the boxes. The box Kyra was pulling was filled with Duel Monster Cards and duel discs. Juan's box contained numerous food such as fruit, vegetables, meat, dairy, and sweets. The box next to Azara contained fireworks and sparklers.
"And what better way to conclude the Ritual Tournament of Dueling than with a big feast!" Azara exclaimed with excitement. "And to celebrate our accepting of dueling again, we even have Duel Monster cards and duel disks collected over the years by Jules-Sama for you all to use!"
The villagers' faces grew more thrilled upon hearing Azara's plan to conclude the tournament. However Azara wasn't done talking as she puts her hand on Kyra's head.
"And the working duel disks are all thanks to Kyra here, who managed to repair every single one which were in bad conditions in such a short amount of time."
Kyra sported a slight blush and started to poke her fingers together. "W-Well, this wasn't that hard, so d-don't make a big d-deal outta it, okay? Just e-enjoy the duel disks."
"THANK YOU KYRA!" Everyone shouted out their gratitude towards Kyra, who just awkwardly waved at them.
"Yeah, you did such a good job Kyra." Juan stated as he put his arm over her shoulder.
"Like I said, no big deal!" Kyra quickly said.
"However I do ask all of you for just one favor in return, though." Azara said.
"And that would be?" Arati asked.
"I need some of you who are willing to volunteer to move the other boxes over here, and the rest of you to set up the table and food. We also need someone to operate the machine that will cook the food, and once that is done, then we can get to distributing the duel discs and cards." Azara replied.
"Is that all?! Then let me go help moving those boxes then!" Ruban said.
"Count me in too!" Arati added.
"I don't mind setting up the tables and chairs..." Turya said.
"I shall take the mantle of preparing the fine dishes and cuisine!" Yuca volunteered.
"Then let Hina help you, Yucaro!" Hina said.
"I'll do any job, as long as I can duel afterwards!" Juan agreed.
"I'll just stay here and have some boozes..." Elementio softly said wanting to avoid any work. However, Kyra was not going to have any of that.
"Nice try, tin can!" Kyra hissed while pulling on Elementio's head antenna.
The rest of the villagers looked at each other, and then nodded towards Azara. After picking which job to do, everyone went their separate paths.
...
Several hours passed and the night sky was filled with fireworks exploding in the sky. Thanks to everyone working together, they were able to finish setting up the festival and now everyone was celebrating. The adults were setting off fireworks, which exploded into the faces of certain Ritual Monsters. In the center of the village square were several rows of tables, with different types of dishes on top, courtesy of the ones who chose to cook the food. However, the most noticeable activity going on now was the several people wearing their new duel discs and dueling each other with their new decks, both children and adults. No matter who won or lost, thought, they would always smile and laugh and the end, and simply duel again for sport and fun.
Yucaro, who was standing next to a grill wearing an apron with the words "Grill Master" couldn't help but let out a small meaningful laugh at the ongoing duels. "This is truly a welcoming sight. Do you not agree, Lady Hinata?"
Hina was happily chewing on some of the food, hugging her cheeks in delight. "Hmm!"
She hummed in agreement, which made Yuca let out another laugh. Yucaro turned off his grill for a bit so he could join Hina in eating some of the dishes. Before he could could, Azara approached them.
"Azara-Sensei." Yuca said while bowing at her.
Hina quickly swallow her food. "Big Sis Azara! This festival was a great idea. This food is SO good that Hina can't get enough!"
"Hina..." Azara muttered her name, but before she could say more, Kyra pulled a choking Juan to their table and quickly gave them some water to drink.
"AHHH!" Juan breathed out after drinking the water. "That was close. Thanks Kyra!"
"You baka! I told you not to eat all that food at once that fast." Kyra lecturing Juan's recklessness. "Do I have to lecture you in table manners AGAIN!?"
Juan scratched his head and smiled. "Sorry, sorry, but I need my energy at full if I want to give it my all. After all, look at everyone dueling. It's impossible NOT to join! Speaking of..."
"Oh no..." Kyra groaned.
"YOU AND ME, BATTLE FOR THE BRONZE PLACE!" Juan exclaimed.
"Juan, I keep telling you. After everything that happened today, I think I'm all dueled out for the day. After I eat something, I'm going to turn it for the night. After all, now that I don't have to keep my origins a secret anymore, I can put focus on my inventions with full focus!" Kyra proclaimed.
"Awwww, don't be such a party pooper!" Juan whined.
"Juan, let Kyra be." Hina insisted. "She did go through a lot during her duel with Hina, remember?"
"Oh damn. I didn't think of that." Juan said as he turned to Kyra. "Sorry Kyra! I wasn't really thinking about your feelings."
Kyra simply put her hand up. "No need to sorrys, Juan. I know you very well, and just because I won't duel you now, doesn't mean I won't duel you ever..."
Juan's face brighten up upon hearing that. "So you mean-"
"Yup." Kyra nodded.
"All right, then! Yuca, serve me up the juiciest meat you got!" Juan requested.
"With great pleasure!" Yucaro responded as he turns on his grill again and flip some hamburger and steak around on the grill. "Speaking of duels, Lady Hinata, with my victory against you, our score is now tied. After we finish our dishes, may you join me in another duel to change that?"
"Of course, Yucaro! After all, being tied doesn't sit well with Hina!" Hina replied.
"EVERYONE I'M SORRY!"
Azara's sudden apology caught the attention of her students.
"Azara-Sensei, what troubles you now?" Yuca asked in concern.
"If it's about the whole spilling my secret out, I told you that I've forgiven you." Kyra guessed.
"It's not just that. Yuca told me about what happened with Hina, about how she was carrying tension during the latter half of the final duel." Azara exclaimed.
Hina frowned after hearing that. "Big Sis Azara, Hina admits that it's true, but now Hina is feeling fine now. Thanks to Yucaro's words."
"Even so, my idea-"
"For the tournament was reckless and risky?" Kyra spoke out with Azara's tone before turning to her normal voice. "Azara, it's true that a lot of things happened during the duels, and that we weren't ourselves because of that..."
"However, now Lady Hina and Lady Kyra are no longer burden by such tensions." Yuca added. "Your well-meaning plan has brought back the joy of Duel Monster that was stolen by the Supreme Dragon, and now our future has never looked brighter."
"Kyra can Synchro Summon all she wants in public, Hina can duel for fun rather than to prove herself, and even Yuca and I can enjoy dueling even more than ever thanks to you, Big Sis Azara!" Juan chimed in.
"Hell, even Elementio is saying a good time. Take a look." Kyra pointed at Elementio, who was currently in a drinking contest with a few others who were passed out.
"Hahaha! You guys are such lightweights!" He bragged as he drank his 136th jug in victory!
Azara looked at her students after they said those words, and then let out a hearty laugh. "You guys! You really know the right words to say to this girl! C'mere!"
Azara proceeded to give all four of them a hug. A very TIGHT hug.
"H-Hina can't b-breathe!"
"Too tight! Too tight!"
"So big...her breasts...deadly weapons...of suffocation!"
"Require air for respiratory system!"
Hina, Juan, Kyra, and Yuca's thoughts in that order. Azara eventually lets go of them, in which they took the time to breathe. Azara sat down on a table and pulled out a huge mountain of food out of nowhere. "All right! No more feeling sorry! Let's all eat now!"
After finally catching their breath, they sat down and started to eat. However, unbeknownst to them, a dark four legged creature creature was sneaking up on them, growling as its red eyes locked on Azara herself...
Elementio: Finally, the tournament is finally over. Only 3 duels and yet they took so long, especially this one.
Yuca: We were ordered to prolong the duel until Azara Sensei and the others were successful in their mission.
Hina: Yeah, Uncle Elementio, besides if we finished too soon, then Big Sis Azara would blame you!
Elementio: Good point...for an cranky old hag, she can be a real demon...
(Azara's angry glare as she uppercuts Elementio into the ceiling.)
Azara: I'M ONLY 17, YOU STUPID TIN CAN!
Kyra: He had that one coming. Why does he keep saying that out loud. Does he like getting hurt?
Juan: Elementio's Elementio, after all!
Kyra: That makes so much sense yet little sense at all at the same time.
Juan: So when can we duel for 3rd place, Kyra?
Kyra: Sigh...When I am up for it, Juan.
Juan: Awwwww...Come on, let's duel right now!
Hina: Why not duel him, Kyra?
Kyra: Don't you encourage him, too Hinata! Besides, the tournament is done!
Yuca: She is very accurate. For now the true plot of our story shall be unveiled, and we must sttel ourselves for whatever obstacles comes in our path.
Azara: That's right, cause anything can happen...Anyway, thank you for sticking with us until the end, you loyal fans you!
(Elementio struggles to get free, so the other try to help him out while Azara drinks a soda.)

WHEW! This is by far the longest chapter I have ever written! Over 22000 words! But we finally reached the end of the Ritual Tournament of Dueling, and I wanted to make a great duel to end it because now I think about it, other than the Yugo vs Serena duel, we never got a real decent duel between a Yu-Boy and Bracelet Girl. The girls were either brainwashed, the guys were being controlled by Zarc, or the duels just ended too quickly or in flashbacks. So I hope you enjoy the duel between Yuca and Hina.
Anyway, as you may or may not have noticed, I have written my duel out in a different format from the previous chapters. I am trying to pick out a good format that would make writing duels out even easier, and I think I may have found it...I hope.
Also forgive me for the constant updating of the previous chapters. After finally updating the OC Card Lists in those chapters, I kept adding minor modifications, which annoyed even me. I like aiming for quality OC cards, so yeah...Don't worry, I actually wrote out all the OC cards used in this chapter fully this time, so no need to worry.
Once more, I want to thank my fellow Fanfiction friend GreedyMattymo and Fable Writeworth for helping me.
As usual, any OC Cards you want to share and see in the story, we can talk in PM and see if they will make the cut or not. Not 100% Guaranteed! Any questions about the series, characters, cards, send them to me via PM. Any comments you want to make, post them in comments.
Until the next chapter, ciao!
