Chapter 4: Ninja Arts and Other tools

"That's a sealing scroll. " replied Jiraiya. "Whats that Sensei ?" asked Naruto. "It is like a backpack, but instead of just putting things inside it, you seal the things away", explained Jiraiya. "So, is it a ninjutsu like the fireball ?" asked Naruto. "No, it is a part of Fuinjutsu, the sealing arts." seeing that his words were going over the young students' head Jiraiya began to explain the fundamentals of the Shinobi Arts.

"Listen Naruto, there are three main shinobi arts: Ninjutsu, which is the knowledge and manipulation of chakra into something useful, Genjutsu which is the art of creating Illusions by linking your chakra with your opponents to make them see and feel things that aren't actually experiencing, the last is Taijutsu which basically is Hand to Hand combat. There are also Fuinjutsu, sealing arts, and Senjutsu, sage art." finished Jiraiya. "Wow that's a lot to take in, how many of these can you do sensei?" asked Naruto. Jiraiya's voice reflected his pride on himself as he said "Yes I can do all of them!". "Well, sensei can you take a look at this scroll.." said Naruto as his patience got the better of him.". "Okay, let me take a look at it," said Jiraiya as he unrolled the scroll and looked at it". "Okay Naruto, I think Sensei taught you a little bit of chakra control. Just put your hand in the circle and let some chakra flow into it." Naruto did as he was told and just as he let his chakra flow into the scroll some smoke appeared and on the scroll was a scarf, cyan with thin white stripes.

Jiraiya had a feeling that he had seen the scarf somewhere but didn't pay much attention to it. "Guess Sensei prepared you for winter," said Jiraiya. Naruto examined the scarf for a few seconds before drifting towards the other thing in the scroll, a pair of glasses. "Wow, these are nice goggles, Jiji finally gave me something nice this year," said Naruto as tried the glasses, which he didn't place on his eyes but rather on his forehead. "Well kid that's the closest you get to a leaf forehead protector for now" said Jiraiya. "Anyway we will be moving into our new place tomorrow, don't worry you are gonna like it kid." said Jiraiya.

"But sensei, I wanted to see it first, and why are you telling me now won't we have a lot of packing to do," said Naruto. "Don't worry kid you will love it and besides your belongings and that superabundant stock of Ramen what else do you think is worth keeping," said Jiraiya. "Nothing much I guess," said Naruto offended by Jiraiya's remark on his 'just enough' stock of Ramen.

"Okay now, we will move tomorrow. I will seal everything into scrolls before you wake up tomorrow," said Jiraiya. "But, what if my ramen is lost or damaged, you better pay for it sensei," exclaimed Naruto.

"Trust me, kid, I am the last person in the world who will get anything damaged because of a flimsy sealing scroll, after all, I made it myself," said Jiraiya proudly. "Okay then, but what about dinner," said Naruto just as both the master and student's stomach growled together. "Oh I bought us some sushi and chicken stew," said Jiraiya.

"Well ok," said Naruto as he accepted his fate of no ramen for dinner.

2 hours later

As little Naruto went to bed, he wondered how much his life had changed in just one day, he would be living with his new sensei, training and learning new things. He would not have believed himself had someone told him this a day earlier. The change was drastic but a welcome one.

Meanwhile in the Uchiha District

"Father are you sure you want me to do this?" asked a boy, about 11 years old.

"Yes, Itachi you must do it." said a middle-aged man who sat cross-legged across the boy named Itachi. "You must act as the pipeline between the Village's higher-ups and the Uchiha clan."

"But father, what if they don't let me gain a position as high as that from where I can provide the clan with useful information ?" asked Itachi. "With the level of skill you have acquired at such a small age, it would be stupid for them not to. Now go get some rest you have your first mission tomorrow, we will have time for questions later"

Itachi quietly obliged. Time wasn't something he had. Itachi walked to his room with several questions in his mind. 'Who was the man in the orange mask, was he really Madara Uchiha and why did he kill Tenma, What is the Mangekyo. What was Shisui hiding'.

Next Morning Naruto's apartment

As Naruto opened his eyes he saw Jiraiya packing his stock of Ramen. "Well now that you are awake, go ahead and get ready we will say goodbye to this place as soon as we can," said Jiraiya angrily. Naruto feeling a bit guilty asked, "Why are you angry sensei not like I woke up late and kept you waiting ?". " Well sorry Naruto, but the amount of Ramen you had was so big that I had to use a special storage scroll.

Naruto now getting a bit frustrated said: "Well Ramen is an essential item that I need daily so it makes sense to stock up and if you don't like it then I will carry it on my own."

"Now kid no need to be salty, I was just joking."

A few minutes later

"Ok sensei but where is this new house of ours?" asked Naruto, as the master and student began walking. "It's near the Uchiha compound and the Sarutobi household," replied Jiraiya. "Wait does that mean I will have to see Sasuke every day, this is such a drag;" said Naruto as he imitated his friend Shikamaru. "You probably won't see him that much as most of the Uchiha compound's perimeter is walled off," explained Jiraiya. "But sensei wouldn't that make it quite far from the rest of the village, why did you choose that ?" asked Naruto. "So we can train solitude and not disturb anyone, besides this house was rather cheap for its space and furnishing."

Just as Jiraiya finished they reached their destination. Naruto couldn't believe his eyes in front of him was a two-story house near a lake so elaborate which made the Houses of the Uchiha on the other side of the lake look like dwarfs.

A/N that's for today will be elaborating on the surroundings later
