The Avatars Wings
Book I: Light
Chapter III: Black-Mud Swamp.
"Today's exercise would be rather different and challenging, a good fairy should be able to listen to what nature tells us."
The changix club was wearing uniforms for outdoor activities along with other students. The boys wore long pants, while the girls wore shorts. "Now this exercise would test these skills, you have three hours to exit the forest and make it to the clearing, without using magic, and for some of you in the class, no bending either."
Korra groans, while Wan slumps his head, Kaiyo and Hoku giggled at this.
"Now, you all have been put into groups so are ready to begin." Professor Palladium announces to the class, "Remember, listen to nature, and follow its advice." The professor teleports out. The class looked in awe, the group nodded and went on.
"Honestly, do we even know where we are going?" Amy comments. Wan sighs, "No idea,"
The group traveled across the swamp waters.
Meanwhile, In Cloud tower, the blond witch groans as she finishes her classes. "Raelynn." Her roommate calls out, the blondie rolled her eyes, "Yeah, say what you want." She sits back down on her bed.
"So, you didn't get the stone?" The other witch asked a little peeved off. "Sarah, we don't need that stupid stone, it's useless" Really!? I should have gone with you Raelynn. I knew you would fail."
"You're being overdramatic as usual, trust me I have this all under control. But, while I was in Alfea, I found something fascinating." Raelynn flips her blond hair, "I felt something, from that Blue fairy, something different. Something powerful and elemental." She chuckles as she looks in the mirror, "Your kidding." Sarah's eyes widen.
"Oh I'm not," Raelynn turns around, "Do you think that could be our ticket, could this be how we get the elements?" Sarah says almost too eagerly.
"Maybe, though we must be careful, my sister. We can not be too rash or too boastful. We must not make it known yet. Plus, most people in the magical realm outside of elementia don't even know who the new Dual Avatars are."
"Ah, a slow plan, Heh, you're actually starting to make sense. So you think the Dual Avatars are going to that fairy school. We find out who the Dual Avatar's are and we take their power."
"Bingo."
Korra stumps through the mud and other things trying to not use her bending and magic, "This is ridiculous."
"Oh now cheer up Korra," Hoku says, brightly. Korra slumps, "I don't hear what nature is saying, okay? Wan is the spiritual one, not me." Hoku puts her finger on her chin, thinking for a moment. "I think we should go that way," Kaiyo says pointing to her left, "I can feel the energy of this swamp, it's saying go that way."
"Let's try a new approach," Wan says walking up to Korra, "Can you feel the water current."
"Yes, I can feel that." Korra begins to listen to nature a little more. "Yeah, it almost feels colder," Logan replies with a small grin.
"We should work as a team if we want to get out of this swamp." Wan announces, "We have to listen to not only nature but how nature relates to our powers."
"Well, what about me?" Hoku shugs, "I'm the fairy of stars and there are no stars out. It's the middle of the day."
"The Sun is a star." Wan smiles matter of factly, "And if I'm correct, the sun rises on the east and sets on the west. Soo?"
"The sun is high above us, so it's midday." Hoku smiles. Wan nods, "If we just keep moving, maybe we'll make it out of here alive."
"Ooh, you make it sound it's dire." Amy jokes as the team continues to walk and listen and utilizes the aspect of their power without using magic.
"The air currents are changing a little to the west." Korra mentions. Kaiyo was the road map to getting out, Hoku looked up not directly at the sun, "One more hour." Hoku warns. Wan nods, Logan rushes to Wan, "The air is getting cooler, and less dense, we almost made it." Logan points out.
Amy looks at the ground, though not crystals, she did have some aspect of earth. "He's right, we're close."
The Changix Club made it out of the swamp and into the clearing. "Oh Thank HEAVENS!" Hoku pants, flopping down on the soft grass. The team chuckles softly at this.
"Well done, all six of you." Palladium smiles as he appears once again. "You listened to nature in your way and worked together."
"Thank you, sir." Korra had a big grin on her face.
Korra walked through the halls carrying several books for classes. Tonight she was had to make a potion that could turn some's hair into their favorite color.
Korra sat the books down on her desk and turn on the lamps. "A pinch of salt, two teaspoons of rainbow honey, three ounces of water. A pinch of Ogona leaves, a white crystal- AMY!"
"Yeah?"
"I need a white crystal."
"What type?"
"Ugh, it doesn't say" Amy went over to her room and read over the book. "A white crystal, probably a Rainbow Quartz, since your doing a color spell."
Korra reads the next page, "Do you have one."
"Yeah, give me a sec."
"Thank's Amy, you're a lifesaver." Korra continues to read, until she hears a knock on her door, "Come in."
Wan opens the door, "Hey," Korra smiles softly as she continues to read her assigned readings, "Hey."
Wan leans on the door side, "So, how are classes?"
"Good, I'm making a potion that can turn someone's hair into their favorite color." Korra chuckles at the thought. She bends the amount of water needed, "And you?"
"Same old, same old. You know, I'm honestly really glad me and you-Get together"
"Get to what?" Korra grabs her leaves and places them into the potion bottle. "You know, be friends with you."
"Huh?" Korra eyebrows arched, Amy rushes in, "Sorry, Korra here's your rainbow quartz!" Amy says then looks at the moment and walks out slowly. Korra bends the mineral and crushes it to fine pieces. She adds the rest of the ingredients and with a puff of air, the potion turns milky white.
"Wow, you actually got it."
"Test run?" Korra asked her partner, Wan nods excitedly. Korra pours a little into a cup, "it only lasts for a few minutes."
Wan gulped the potion and burped. Soon his hair turned blue, thinking about Korra for a moment and how she adored her blue eyes. "It worked! Wan, your hair turned blue!"
"Huh?" Wan blushed a little, rubbing his hair a little. "Wait- I thought your favorite color was yellow?" Korra goes back to her book, "Damn it! I probably got the potion wrong-"
"No! I have a new favorite color." Wan blurts out, not telling Korra the entire reason why his hair turned the near exact shade of Korra's eyes.
"Oh, well then it worked." The potion wears off, returning Wan's raven black hair. The duo laughs a little at the whole commotion. "I should really get to bed." Korra grabs her potion and book, "Yeah, me too." Wan returns the smile at his best friend.
"Night." Korra walks into her dorm and closes the door. Wan does the same for the night.
