Another person was leaving him.
Had Izuku failed them or did they fail him?
He felt his mind go blank within every glass he filled up. While unpacking, Izuku had found a few bottles of liquor. Red wine, vodka and whiskey neat. He barely had enough time to even sit down without his schedule being stacked. All Might was practically a goner with little insanity that he hasn't already lost. The only thing that was keeping that man alive today, was the technology and hope. The thing that hurt him the most was that Izuku knew with one look in All Might's eyes, that he was ready to die no matter what happened.
He had played his role in life.
But where does that leave Izuku when he dies?
Someone gotten injured on the day he signed the application form to the job he had gotten and he went to go see All Might. He had gone to get a license plate. He was ultimately tired. Physically, mentally and emotionally. Not to mention with his old friends bugging to meet up with him all the time. For once, he was sitting on a stool in front of his mini bar counter with a wine glass filled halfway and candles lit all in his house. The lights were off and he could smell the incense burning in every room.
He spent the past week unboxing and re-applying furniture and decor around his house. The way his friends had made his house while he was gone had made him cringe. Izuku has actually gotten himself a job at a small cafe and it was peaceful there. Nice people were buzzing with emotion every night and day. No fights and he liked it that way. It was somewhat quiet sometimes but Izuku didn't mind because it helped him get a hold of reality and things around him.
Rolling his eyes, he listened to the news that was playing in the background behind him. "-ple have been killed in the attack of the LOV!" Izuku heard the news reporter shout. "Yet again the students have been attacked, found, and saved by none of than the number one hero Endeavor!" Izuku scoffed and rolled his eyes. Endeavor was the new number, one hero. He had found that out two days ago when he was at work. He had overheard an old couple talking about the attack that had happened a week before he had come down.
Maybe they just decided to released the news now instead of a week ago. Was it because they needed all the facts or did they need time for themselves and to interrogate the villains? Perhaps both.
But it didn't matter to Izuku. If it didn't matter in a few days, then it didn't matter to him.
His eyes shifted over to his wine glass. He was slightly drunk. He knew that it was his day off ended tomorrow, but he needed this one last relief before he has to dive back into being busy. He sighed once again before reaching out towards his glass and picked it up. He drew it towards his mouth but paused when he heard a knock at his door. He frowned. Wasn't it midnight? He put the glass back down and got out of his seat to the right and walked towards the front door. He didn't like talking to people when he was intoxicated, but he was a bold drunk.
A stupid drunk.
Opening the door just enough to show his head, his face scrunched up in confusion as he saw Kaksuki Bakugo standing there on his welcome mat. His body was tense with his hands tucked tightly on his black puffy jacket that wrapped around his body, all up and around his head and neck.
It stopped at his nose.
He had his glasses on and as Izuku continued to look at Kaksuki, the more he was admiring the way Bakugo looked. He looked rather handsome the way he is. "Yes?" Izuku asked the blonde, trying not to slur his words though it was difficult. He hoped his cheeks weren't pink.
Bakugo frowned back, taken back. "A-are you drunk?" His tone held a tint of surprise at the end.
Izuku felt his stomach twist in butterflies when he felt Bakugo get mad. His red eyes sparkled in the night with the stars, angrily. "Izuku?" He felt his heart throw itself up into his throat. He loved it when Kaksuki called him by his first name. Kaksuki scoffed a bit as he shifted in his spot. He let out an exhale as he looked away, his cheeks becoming redder then it was.
Was he blushing?
Right now, Izuku Midoriya was standing with the door open while he stood there and looked at his childhood bully with shock. He wasn't expecting anything from Bakugo. A surprise visit was the least of them. What did he come here for? They've only hung out three times this week. Izuku hadn't wanted to at first because he didn't want anything to do with him, but he realized that the blonde quirk user wouldn't give up. He was determined to be Izuku's friend and he didn't care if he had to be declined many times before Izuku actually gave in.
"I'm drunk," Izuku established with a smirk on his lips.
Bakugo frowned deeper. "At this hour?"
Izuku groaned and leaned on the doorway as he raised an eyebrow. "You're having a movie night with Denki and his boyfriend with your mom and dad at midnight but I can't have a bottle of red wine and relax?" Denki had called him earlier, inviting him but he declined.
Bakugo shrugged his shoulder and closed his eyes, letting out a small laugh, his head tilting towards the ground. "I wasn't expecting you to be drinking at this hour," he breathed, his eyes now opened and looked up through his bangs to see Izuku smiling back warmly. "That's all." He exhaled after awhile of admiring Izuku's red eyes. They stared at each other before Izuku looked away, coughing as he cleared his throat.
"Do the others know you're here?" He asked, using the same tone as Bakugo had. Light as a feather. When Izuku had seen Bakugo stiffen, his gut turned. Bakugo wanted to see Izuku. "You should leave," Izuku said, his voice clipped. He shook his head and closed his eyes. "I don't know your game here Bakugo, but I'm here for All Might. Not you." He opened his eyes and looked away from Bakugo. "Plus you're with Kirishima, you shouldn't-"
"I love you."
Izuku froze. His door was almost shut, but he stopped as soon as the sentence was said. Bakugo loved him? He gritted his teeth, avoiding his eyes as he stared at a tree he saw beside Bakugo's head. "You have a boyfriend." Before Bakugo could say anything, Izuku closed his door and locked it. He closed his eyes and shook his head, letting out a breath he hadn't realized he had been holding.
Bakugo loved him. He just said that. He had come back for two weeks and he's already saying that to him? They've hung out four times! But then again...
Did he love Bakugo?
His red eyes narrowed in concern. He wasn't so sure about this. "You're certain you want to do this?" He asked, the question in his head had somehow managed to sneak out of his lips before he had time to grasp it.
The question made the other young teen nod his head, certain. He was nervous, yes, but that didn't stray him away from what he was about to do. They were already here. Excitement coursed through his veins as he squeezed the spray can in his hand, but it satisfied him as of when he couldn't able to bend it. It cooled him down He's never done anything like this - and even if he did, he'd never get this far - and he thought it was rather fun and nerve-racking. Inhaling a breath, Bakugo stepped forwards after a gulp, and shook the can chuckling under his breath.
Beside him, Kirishima was staring at him with concern in his eyes. He had no idea what came to his boyfriend's head, but here they were. At UA highschool with spray cans and masks in the middle of the night. Bakugo was never one to do anything with breaking the law. He was always strict in having a good record, so what were they doing here in the middle of the night?
Especially at their own school?
They'd get big time if they were caught.
"B-Bakugo.." Kirishima shivered, his fingers frozen from the cold. It dropped down majorly during the day and now it was night and Kirishima suddenly didn't want to be here. He was scared that they would get caught, but the worse situation here was that Bakugo was drunk. "I don't think this is a very g-good-" He stuttered as he trembled, but Bakugo only laughed despite his boyfriend's request to go home.
"Come on," Bakugo teased, turning his head as he looked over his shoulder. He was crouching in front of the wall with his left hand palm up against it and the spray can in his right hand. He stared at the redhead, a drunken smirk over his lips. "I'm not dating a pussy am I?" He breathed, turning his head and standing back up. He got up close to the wall they were facing as he rose the bandana over his nose that hung loosely around his neck.
"Bakugo I don't want to do thi-"
"Then go the fuck back home." An annoyed grunt came from Bakugo and he was now standing in front of his boyfriend. His angered eyes were suddenly peering down at Kirishima's through his glasses as a sneer came out of his mouth. "If you don't want to do this, then go the fuck home." He barked turning away from him, but Kirishima reached out and turned the blonde back his way.
"What has gotten into you lately?" Kirishima asked, trying to search Bakugo's eyes but all he got back was a wall of anger. This wasn't like Bakugo. The opposite male scoffed but didn't answer as he only stood there staring back into each other's eyes. Why was he so angry? Kirishima frowned deeper. He didn't understand and he wasn't at all getting the answers he wanted. "You never get involved with illegal shit. You don't like to, so what's with this sudden change?"
Bakugo growled. His lips went up in a snarl and he suddenly looked like a wild pomeranian dog. "None of your fucking business." He barked, taking a step back but knocked a can down with the heel of his shoes. The two of them froze as they heard a call from someone around the corner. The clatter echoed in the dark all around them.
"Hello?" A gruff man asked from in front of the school. "Who's there?!" The two teens tensed as they heard gravel getting stepped on, making their way over to where they were.
"Shit, shit, shit!" Kirishima shouted in a whispering tone. He bent down, snatching the can as he grabbed the bag and shoved them in furiously. "This is why i didn't want to come!" He snapped at his boyfriend, clearly angry. The redhead zipped the backpack and threw it over his shoulder before turning over and seeing that Bakugo was leaning against the school wall, laughing.
He really was high.
Kirishima let out a frustrated groan and dashed over to his boyfriend before gruffly gripping the black leather jacket Bakugo was wearing and booking it into the forest. What a mess tonight was. Bakugo however, was crackling with amusement as they ran for their life. Kirishima didn't find it funny - and became more furious by the second every time Bakugo laughed. As they finally got into the clearing and were panting in front of a store, Kirishima bent down and planted his hands on his thighs, heaving for air.
Bakugo was still laughing to himself, but now he was going into the store, taking his black mask off as he did so. The young teen had his glasses on and his school uniform was crinkled and messy. The tie was hanging around his neck un-tired while his suit was unbuttoned and dress shirt opened as well. You got a full view of his chest, down to his abs and visible v-line.
His belt was still in contact with his pants, but his shoes were missing. Kirishima huffed one more breath before picking up the bag he had dropped on the ground once again and chasing the blonde who had already bought a pack of smokes at the corner store.
He doesn't smoke. The last time he smoked was two years ago.
What was happening to his boyfriend?
"What are you looking at?" Bakugo scoffed, taking the pack of cigarettes and putting it into his pocket. He had already opened it and put one in his mouth by the time Kirishima had gotten to him.
"I don't know what I'm looking at." Kirishima snapped. He was tired and cold - and almost arrested and his boyfriend was happy as can be. How was he so damn cheerful? Kirishima's expression darkened as he watched his boyfriend lit the stick and smirk at him. There was only one way to get through to him and that meant he had to go to the extremes.
"Are you two MENTALLY ok?!" His voice rang out into a shout as he stomped his foot and growled at the two students. "You could've been caught and put to jail!" His eyes flashed over to the blonde teen and sneered. "What were you thinking?!" When Bakugo didn't answer and only glared back, Aizawa got up and stormed towards the student. When he stood only meters away from him, nose to nose, he spoke in a dark tone. "Detention. For. Two. Months."
Bakugo's face contorted angrily into a sneer. "What the fuck?!" He raised his arms but Aizawa grew angrier and made his eyes glow, the bandages around him slipped off and levitated around him like a bubble, towering over the small student. The bandages flew and gripped the young student's arms, disabling him to freely move his upper body and around his neck and mouth.
"Do not test me, boy." The teacher snarled. "You are not in the position to be freaking out."
His mouth clamped shut but his arms still twitched to get out of the bandages. Bakugo's face twisted up in confusion and fear, pulling his arms back desperately, but found no avail. Beside him, was Kirishima. He immediately turned to the teacher.
" , do you really think this is the right way?" His voice was uneasy but he didn't want the teacher to know about Bakugo's trauma. The shit they would do to him if they found out the harm Bakugo did to him and himself when he had nerve breakdowns and night terrors.
The teacher was about to answer Kirishima before Bakugo started screaming, trying to tell him to let go, but tears built up in his eyes and he couldn't see. Bakugo squeezed his eyes shut as his throat closed, sniffling back sobs he held.
"What the-" Aizawa's eyes widened in alarm as he realized what was happening. He took a step back from Bakugo, avoiding a sharp kick he had suddenly sprung out. He let go of Bakugo, but Bakugo's instant was to jump on the teacher, trying to blast him with everything. He was screaming and yelling so loud, Aizawa could feel that he wasn't there.
"Ba..ku..go!" Aizawa tried to get out, having a hard time controlling the wild teenager. Before anything else could happen, a figure ran in front of Aizawa and hugged Bakugo. The teacher fell over on his butt and stared amazed at how Kirishima was using his quirk to let Bakugo go all out of him. Eventually, Bakugo had stopped struggling - he'd even stopped cry and stood there, frozen. Kirishima was still hugging him, but now he was saying soothing things like,
"It's okay, you're not there" and even "C'mon Bakubro, it's me, remember?"
The teacher felt frozen in fear. He'd seen a monster right there and then, with no humanity in his eyes. All he saw was a child ready to destroy anything with it's own bare hands. Like a serial killer. But the fear he had shown before... AIzawa looked up at Bakugo who was still frozen in his spot. His eyes were wide in fear and his body was twitching. Now as he looked closer to his own student, he realized that the child had bags, really dag bags as if he hadn't slept for a week.
His clothes were wrinkled. He looked like a mess.
Why hasn't he noticed?
Bakugo caught his breathing and blinked, realizing everything around him. For a second he thought he was back with his mother...he flinched. As he slowly opened his eyes, he noticed that it was only Kirishima's hand in front of his face. Shitty hair pulled his hand back and sighed, his eyes sad.
"Want to go back to the dorms?" He asked, rubbing the back on his neck. It was a signal.
What he really meant: "Want to go fuck or skate?"
He grunted and then mocked. "'Want to go back to the dorms?'" He glared at Kirishima. "Go to hell."
What he really meant: "Let's fuck."
Kirishima laughed and helped Bakugo to his feet. He turned the student and him back to the teacher and apologized, before turning towards the doors and exiting the U.A high school building.
"What do you want to do today, Midoriya?" Iida asked, walking along beside Uraraka who was also walking on Izuku's left. Iida was wearing the normal school uniform with his blue backpack slung on his back with his hands outside of his pockets as he walked with a straight posture. It was after school and they were now currently walking towards the parking lot where Izuku's car was parked earlier in the day.
Midoriya had his eyes shut and his arms crossed over his head, but he unraveled his arms from behind his head and took the lollipop out of his mouth before opening his eyes and shrugging. "D'know-"
"How about the mall?" Suggested Uraraka, walking over and grinning at the two foolishly. Today she wore a black skirt along with a nice white t. Over the outfit, she wore a pink and black stepped flannel jacket. She went over the top by putting on sunglasses, two piercings on both ears, and high black boots.
Midoriya shook his head. "We went to the mall yesterday-" Ever since he tried on his uniform and decided from there and then that he didn't like it - he's been wearing similar outfits but never the school uniform. Currently, Izuku Midoriya was wearing a black leather jacket and a white t-shirt underneath. His hands were covered by archery gloves and he wore black pants with rips in them. His knuckles were decorated with dried blood from fighting in practice earlier in the day.
"Did I hear the mall?" A dark soothing voice called from behind. Todoroki came into the young green's view and smiled. "I'm free if you're going, Midoriya." Black turtle neck, the brown belt that looked similar to his hero belt, and black pants. He held his own leather jacket in his arms as he stared at Midoriya.
Izuku clicked his tongue irritated. "I have work today-" he gave Todoroki a sharp glance. "And as I was saying before I got interrupted, we all went to the mall yesterday and the day before-" He gave Uraraka a raised eyebrow. "And the day before that."
Uraraka frowned. "But I thought you liked going to the mall." Her brown hair was up in a ponytail today.
Izuku shrugged his shoulder as he walked over to his car and opened it. "Not every day I don't." With his head pointed down towards the ground, he looked up at Uraraka and smirked. "I have a job yknow, money doesn't come without hard work."
Within that, he waved goodbye, got into his car, and drove away. As he drove home, his thoughts turned towards Todoroki. He seemed to be always there when he showed up, willing to do whatever Midorya was doing.
It was weird and clingy. His green eyes smoldered as his eyes intensely glared through the car's window shield. He passed by a school - his middle-high school, Aldera Junior High to be exact - and his hands turned into fists. He can't let this happen again.
It's going to happen all over again.
As he took a sharp left, he realized he was on the street of his home. He pressed the brakes slowly, the anger in him had disappeared. As he turned the corner, he turned on his blinker lights and turned into his driveway.
He was always the first house on the block.
Inhaling deeply, he knew that Bakugo wasn't home yet. He always went to Kirishima's after school and come back in the night as if it was a one-night stand. Shaking his head, he turned off the car and slammed the door on his way out, locking it behind him. Jungling the keys, he got into his home and shut the door.
Izuku took his time taking off his shoes and walking over to the fridge. He frowned as he realized that there was a note on the door. His eyes scanned it: Won't be home tonight. Do whatever. - Bakugo.
Izuku shrugged and turned away from the fridge. It was two days before Christmas and he was stressed about the party his friends from Australia were throwing. He had no clue where or when they were coming and throwing the party. They've left him blank and he hated being left in the dark.
As he walked into the living room and away from the kitchen, he dropped his bag on the floor beside him and reached for the tv remote that laid on the coffee table in front of the couch. He turned on the news and sat down, exhaling.
For the past hour, he watched tv. There was a villain attack near his work so they changed his schedule and now he worked overnight. They offered to pay him even more if he kept a watch out for any villains.
Izuku's different. He doesn't have that same innocent look in his eyes anymore and he's much ruder than he'd ever been before he left. His style of fashion changed drastically and I can't help but check him out every time he comes near me. I know he doesn't like me back but I can't help but adore the way he's matured.
The one thing I'm concerned about is Bakugo and Izuku's relationship.
There's no more "Kacchan!" or "I'm sorry!"
Now, it's like asking if they got hit with a personality quirk. Bakugo's actually nice now. He doesn't call us rude names anymore, he doesn't try and explode or control anybody. Izuku on the other hand calls us names that he'd never dare call us before.
For me, "Pink Cheeks."
Todoroki, "Icy Hot"
Iida, "Sonic"
Tsu, "Froggy"
And well, for Bakugo...it's just Bakugo.
My class and I, we've never seen the change coming. Sure, we all thought that he'd snap one day and go full rage mode on Bakugo - but never this, but I guess you can say the same about Bakugo's change.
And it's not just Bakugo and Midoriya who's changed. Everybody - including Mineta - has changed.
They're not alone.
My head hurts. Damnit. My vision blurs so fast, I realize that I've fallen to the ground, face first. I hear crackling behind me and I know it's Kirishima laughing his ass off. My gut turns. I don't feel good. Grunting, I stumbled to get up - but I manage. I turn around too fast yet again and I'm in somebody's arm. I look up and I see Kirishima gazing down into the same empty hollow eyes I hold.
He's just as intoxicated as I am.
I smile. "You look so good right now~" I whispered, standing up and continuing to stare into his eyes. His eyes were so red I just felt like melting.
"Kacchan, I have something to tell you-" His green eyes were dull, lifeless.
"Deku you don't have to say it, I know."
"W-What?"
"What?" Kaksuki blinked. What the fuck-
"What did you just say?" Kirishima's voice cracked, pushing away from me. We were facing each other, nose to nose, both heavily breathing.
I squeezed my eyes shut, inhaling a deep breath. I felt everything spin. "I-I said-"
"You said Izuku's name."
My eyes opened. Did I? "I did?" I pretended to smirk. "I was thinking about your shitty hair-"
"No Kaksuki-" Kirishima pushed me away, confusion in his eyes. "You said Midobro's name." He could barely standstill.
I stepped back confused. I'm so high right now I'm not even sure what's happening. "Come on, you and I both know that we're not thinking straight." I shrugged, trying to play it cool. But I'm panicking. "I'm saying shit I don't even know-"
"So you're making up an excuse of why you said Izuku's name instead of mine?" My gut twisted when I realized how hurt I made Kirishima. Our red eyes met each other's and there was silence.
After a while, Kirishima's eyes fluttered with tears in his eyes and he looked away. I felt a pang in my throat and suddenly it felt hard to breathe as I see him turn away from me and whisper goodbye. He walks over to his door and opens it, motioning me to get out.
I freeze. My eyes widen. "Y-you're throwing me out?" I asked, turning towards him, but he avoided my eyes.
"Get out." He mumbled. His eyes had tears in them, but he wasn't letting them fall. He's keeping his posture just for me? Damnit! I didn't mean to say his name! Why does Izuku always have to be inside my head?
I nod my head and I walked out of his room. I didn't say goodbye to his family. I left with no sound. I felt my heart crumble as I slammed the door behind me. Kirishima's cries were heard from outside the house. I stopped for a second, to listen to the crying. I listened to his parents ask him what's wrong and him screaming for them to get out. My heart broke as I continued walking and went for Izuku's house.
I stopped, frozen. Is that such a good idea? Staying where Kirishima doesn't want me at all? I felt myself crack. I'm a horrible boyfriend. I've always been a terrible person and I bullied everyone. Tears were quick to come and instead of heading back to Izuku's or his mother's - I headed to the bar and ordered a drink.
As I sat there with the shot in my hand, I raised it towards the bartender and inhaled a deep breath. "Cheers to failures." And I cheered.
