Chapter Summary

Beck and Jade have date night. Jade uses her powers of evil to make a waitress wish she'd never laid eyes on Beck.

It had been a week since Jade and Beck had reunited and, to be totally honest? It was going really well. They'd had fights, sure, but only over the smallest things; did she forget to rinse the shower out the night before or was it him? Was it his turn to do a coffee run or hers? And they were often over within 5 minutes. Sure, no doubt soon enough the bigger fights would return, because this was a honeymoon period, and both knew it. But the fights themselves wouldn't be so...serious. At least the pair hoped. Besides, they didn't really mind the fighting when it wasn't constant and serious. It was thrilling, both not used to someone standing up to them in such a way – Beck normally got his way with his charm, and Jade through fear and intimidation. Plus, the make up sex was awesome.

She assumed Beck knew what she was doing but he didn't seem to have any issue with it; not really surprising, since he was being given the option of a screaming harpy of a girlfriend or intense make outs with her instead. And to be fair to him, he'd also been keeping his end of the deal up so far. He'd been a lot more open about the fact he had a girlfriend this past week. When girls had appeared at his trailer on the Tuesday morning he'd sent them away without even an apology, saying that they knew he was dating Jade again and they should find a different ride now – Jade hadn't stayed over on Monday night, as Julia had begged her to come back for dinner and to tell stories about the vineyard; oddly enough, since the breakup, Jade's home life had actually improved. She figured it was because before, she spent almost all her time with Beck at his RV. When they had broken up, she'd spent more time at home and her dad had made more of an effort with her, and she actually did kind of get on pretty well with Julia. Her dad wasn't exactly happy about her getting back with Beck, but he knew better than to try and stop her seeing him. (Although Beck was kinda worried about the fact he'd insisted Beck join them for dinner on Sunday).

But for now, they were doing Friday night date-night, which was something else they'd decided they'd do at least once a week – it didn't have to be Friday, although Friday or Saturday were the preferred nights - they'd do something, just them; it could be something like watching a movie and getting take out, or going out to dinner or an activity. But something that was just them, without their friends hanging around. Because at the end of the relationship, that was another issue. They rarely had time alone that wasn't spent sleeping, without one of their friends tagging along or without helping one of them with some crazy scheme.

However, whilst sitting in a nice Italian restaurant, they could forget about the silly fights and their friends and all of that and just be...chilled out. He could act all goofy and sappy, and she could roll her eyes at him but the corners over her lips would turn up just a little and he knew that was the equivalent of her giving a laugh or giggle at his behaviour.

As fate would have it however, once they'd finished their mains and the plates had been cleared, a waitress came over. And the second she saw her, Jade could smell trouble. Their waitress for the rest of the night had been a nice girl with blonde hair and brown eyes, who was friendly and chatty with both Beck and Jade, which was a rare treat – most of the time, they'd pant over Beck and utterly ignore Jade. Which would have been fine with her as she didn't really like talking to people much, if it wasn't for y'know. The whole panting over her boyfriend, who was obviously on a date with her. The original waitress – introduced as 'Mhairi' - was professional. She didn't so much as give Beck a lingering glance and wasn't super peppy. Jade had planned on giving her an extra tip. But she must have gone on break or something, because this brunette was zeroing in on the table with a frightening intensity, and her eyes were only on Beck.

"Hi there..." She simpered, batting her eyelashes and sticking out her chest – which made Jade wrinkle her nose in disgust. Desperate hoe. "Can I get you any dessert?" She asked, biting her lip in what she probably thought was a seductive manner, but to Jade it just looked weird – like guys who bit their lip when they danced or something.

Jade clenched her teeth and exhaled. OK. This was a bit different from the others. At least the Car Sluts and Vicky Lawson hadn't flirted right in front of her. They didn't see her sitting across from him and just disregard her.

"Yeah babe...do we want to do dessert here or grab something on the way home?" Jade asked, her smile a bit forced but the fact Beck reached out and took her hand over the table and gave it a squeeze made her feel a little better.

Charmaine Robb was all too eager to take over Mhairi's section when the girl took an emergency break due to a phone call she had to take. It was surprisingly quiet for a Friday night and Mhairi's section only had 3 tables in it; a family of four, a group of middle-aged women who'd finished their meals but were now just ordering wine and...him. The most beautiful boy she'd ever seen; his smile was boyish and charming, his hair was fabulous and his face was just...perfect.

Sure, he was sitting with some dark haired chick in a black low cut lace dress, but it was probably a first date or something. She knew she'd be kicking herself if she didn't take the chance. So, she popped open the top few buttons of her shirt, loosened her tie a little and fixed her bra to give her a little more 'oomph', and then sashayed over to the table. She gave the girl no attention, sure she wouldn't be an issue and instead focused only on the guy. Who was even hotter close up.

"Hi there...can I get you dessert?" She asked, her voice just breathy enough to be seductive but not desperate.

"Yeah babe. Do you want to do dessert here or grab something on the way home?" The girl asked, her voice a little annoyed but it made frown come over Charmaine's face for a split second. Home?! As in...they lived together? What the hell – they couldn't have been older than her! But maybe they just lived near each other, or something? Or it was just a slip of the tongue, just meaning home as in their own separate houses?

She wrinkled her nose a little at the hand holding – that he initiated she noted with distaste, but still continued to bat her lashes. She wasn't out of the competition yet, she decided. She was way hotter than this dark haired chick.

"Depends..." The guy smiled at the girl before turning his attention to Charmaine and God those eyes were beautiful. "Do you guys serve tiramisu here?"

"Oh we do!" Charmaine nodded, eager to please.

She wasn't so happy when the guy turned back to the girl. "I take it you want to stay for dessert?"

"Yeah may as well. Excuse me, Miss?" And now Charmaine couldn't really ignore the girl, so she turned with a distasteful smile. Up close, the girl was...prettier than expected. Her pale skin and black hair made her red lips and icy blue eyes stand out, she had an impressive hourglass figure too. "What happened to the other waitress? She was so lovely and professional." The last word was said pointedly, and let Charmaine know that this girl wasn't too pleased with her actions. "Is she still on shift?"

"Oh...uh...yeah. She's just on break." Charmaine nodded, swallowing a little. The longer the girls ice blue eyes stayed on her, the more uncomfortable she felt. She had no clue how, but just the aura this girl gave off was bloody threatening.

"OK! We'll have a tiramisu and two coffees. One black and one vanilla latte." The guy ordered, his thumb stroking back and forth over his dates knuckles.

"Beck, I know I love coffee but it's a bit late isn't it?" The girl asked with a light laugh but had a point – it was just past 10pm. "We'll never get any sleep tonight."

"Who said I had plans to let you sleep?" The boy, Beck, replied with a boyish grin that made Charmaine's eyes widen. Seriously? How could this guy be totally ignoring her! No one ever ignored her.

Jade laughed lightly at his words, a teasing smile on her face as she looked at Beck through her dark lashes, genuinely forgetting about the rude waitress for a moment or two. "Well, maybe we should skip dessert..."

"Oh no. The lady wants tiramisu, the lady gets tiramisu." He grinned boyishly and then glanced up at the waitress. "So yeah. Just one tiramisu and the two coffees please." When the waitress headed off, visibly dejected, he looked smiled across the table at her softly. "Well that was uncomfortable."

"What was?" Jade asked, her voice a mix of curious and dangerous. After all, he better not be meaning she had made him uncomfortable with her reactions. She'd been positively tame!

"The waitress hitting on me. I mean, I know it's happened before but...I guess I just pay more attention to it this time around. Because it's not funny anymore, since I know how much it hurts you."

"I thought I'd always made it pretty clear that it hurt me." She replied a little sharply.

"I know. And I was an idiot about it and didn't take it seriously. But now I do and...it's ridiculous how she just acted Jade."

"I know. Just because I didn't scream at her doesn't mean I'm not making a complaint." Jade stated bluntly. "Once the good waitress comes back, I'm going to ask to speak with the manager." A cruel smirk twisted onto her lips. "I might see about getting her fired. Teach her a lesson about inappropriate behaviour at work."

Beck rolled his eyes playfully and chuckled a little, leaning forward to give her a light kiss across the table. "You're terrifying, did you know that?"

"You love it."

"That I do."

When Mhairi came back from her emergency break, Charmaine didn't mention her failed flirtations. Instead, she just said they'd ordered a dessert and coffee that were ready to be sent over. Instead, she watched Mhairi pick up the tray with the two coffees on it, along with the bowl of tiramisu, and head over to the table with 'Beck' and his date.

She watched, chewing her lip and feeling a burning in her stomach as Mhairi looked over her shoulder at her with wide eyes and then nodded back to the couple. Instead of coming back to the bar and waiters station, where most of the waiting staff hung out when it was quiet, she instead moved to the managers office, coming out a few minutes later with Joe, the manager on duty that night. She pointed the couple out to Joe, who headed over, before she finally came over to the waiters station.

"You idiot!" She hissed, her eyes wide. "Why would you flirt with a guy who was out with his girlfriend! They're making a complaint about you right now for being so unprofessional!"

Charmaine's jaw dropped and she swallowed hard. This wasn't good. She didn't think that the girl would be so mad, or that the guy would even care much. Good looking guys like that, in Hollywood, were always players, looking for the next best thing. How was she supposed to know that wasn't the case here?

"I...I wasn't being unprofessional! They're probably just bitching to get money off!"

"Hardly. If that was the case, they would have complained about me too! The girl gave me a $60 tip." Mhairi patted the pocket of her apron. "You fucked up Charmaine, seriously."

And, as Joe shook his head, apologised emphatically to the couple and then turned and caught Charmaine's eye, her stomach dropped, as he motioned towards the office with a nod of his head, his eyes filled with fury.

Well, shit.
