AN:/ Welcome back for Chapter four of Destruction of Time. My family issue was solved and they are doing okay now. There is a steamy scene in this chapter so just a heads up on that. Hermione's point of view:
I need to get myself under control these break downs were not going to help anything. And, getting close to James Potter wasn't either especially since he was with Lily. My friend! I had told Sirius about my conversation with Regulus. He seemed to shrug it off I understood why he acted like this, but she was still our mother. I didn't push him though I would let him process it and if he needed me I would be there for him. I must have been day dreaming because next think I know Mognigall is standing in front of me. "Nice to see you rejoin us Ms. Black may I ask why you haven't changed your rat into a goblet of water yet?" She asks me.
I hear slytherins and a few gryfindors snickering at me. "Sorry professor I have had a lot on my mind lately" I say and tap the rat three times "Vera Verto" I say it perfectly all the sudden the rat lets out a squeak and before me is a black goblet with blue and green gems and water inside of it. "Done professor" I tell her.
I set my wand down on the table and let her expect the goblet "Well done Ms. Black why blue and green gems?" she asked looking impressed.
I shrug, "I was talking with Mr. Lupin earlier ma'am and we were discussing our favorite colors. Guess it stuck in my mind and the black goblet well my last name is Black" I said with a giggle.
She gave me a small smile and then quickly covered it up, "Well done Ms. Black ten points to Gryffindor but being able to accomplish the spell on the first try. Though in the future Ms. Black please try and pay attention in my class and leave the dreaming for night." She says.
She walks away and Lily shakes her head at me. "I am kinda glad you didn't come back till this year" I looked at her in confusion. "I might have had actual competition for head girl" she finishes.
We both break out into giggles "Who knows maybe I could still take it away and get to spend all my time with Potter." I whisper to her.
She shrugs, "You want it now I have my eyes set on a certain prefect and then you can have your own private corridors to make the next generation of Potter" she says.
I look at her in confusion, "Why would I want to steal Potter from you I hear from a source you were dating and bethrothed to be married by the end of the year." I look at her.
Had Peter been lying it wouldn't shock me to much I mean he is evil. She looks at me with wide eyes and was looking at me like I was the crazy one. All the sudden the bell rang meaning it was time for Lunch. I had already had Transfrigtions, charms, and double herbology. Now I had lunch and then double potions and then free hour then dinner then I was done for the day. "Lovely Lily and Honey Hermione I and my good looking gentleman Remus were hoping to escort you two lovely ladies to Lunch" Sirius says.
There was a twinkle in his eye that made me think that he was up to something. I look over at Lily she seemed to be getting the same feeling but I decided to Sirius's arm so Lily didn't have a choice but to take Remus's. And we walked to the great hall talking about this and that not really focusing on one subject. We all took a seat I noticed James wasn't around and Peter was sitting with the Slytherin's. I shrug it off I wonder why the hat didn't place him there in the first place. "Sirius where is…" I started but cut off.
Like I had yesterday the doors was forced open and I swear I could feel my panties get wet at the show of magic. I face the door and there stood James Charles Potter. I feel like my jaw hit the floor I reach up and thankfully my mouth was still closed. But, my eyes were wide my magic purred so loudly hell I bet most of the witches were. I stalked to the front of the room and all the sudden a bouquet of sunflowers were in my hand. I look over at Remus he just shakes his head and points to James. I look over at him again. "Soronus" he whispers pointing the wand at his neck. "Hogwarts school of witchcraft and wizardry. It has come to my attention that a group of you or a single individual is spreading lies about me and Lily Evans" he starts. Lily looks at him wide eyed and then looks at me. It seemed like understanding is now in her eyes. He held up a paper "This was the betrothal contract I had drawn up at the beginning of sixth year." He speaks again.
I want to get out of here I don't want to hear how he is madly in love with her and hear about the engagement. I start to stand but Sirius wraps his arms around me waist and holds me close, "Just hear his out Lyra if you don't like what he has to say at the end I will take you out myself and you wont have to speak to him for the rest of the night." He says. I look over a Peter and see the evil grin on his face and I freeze in Sirius's arms and he follows my line of site. "Peter he's the one who told you just nod yes or no Lyra" he says to me. I just nod, "I will kill him please just listen to James for me" he begs.
I nod and turn back and listen to James speak again. "Something needed for a betrothal to become law is the signature of both parties. As you can see there is no signature. I made this at the beginning when me and Lily began our courtship. But" I go wide-eyed at that but looking over at Lily who has a small smile on her face like she was hoping this would happen. "We both agreed that we were better off as FRIENDS no more no less. So before the eyes of everyone I" he stops and rips the contract in two no second thought just ripped it straight in two. "destroy this contract me and Lily are friends and that is all we will ever be. We are not soulmates/soul bonded and we are not secretly dating. I James Charles Potter may not be with Lily and this was not how I wanted to do this, but I will remain on the market until I can get approval of the brothers and father and win the affection of" his eyes look over at me I can feel the heat in them and it makes me shiver in pleasure "Miss. Hermione Lyra Black." Then he faces the crowd again. "I will find who filled her mind with lies and they will face the rath of the house of Potter and from this moment forth she is under the protection of Potter harm her and nothing will protect you from my rath" he proclaims.
And, then he comes and sits in the seat that was all the sudden open next to me. I was in shock over what had just happen I looked down at my sunflowers and back at James and then over at Remus. "Did you tell him?" I asked him.
He nods and then I look over at James I could see heat, worry, uncertainty, love, protectiveness it was all in his eyes and looking at me. I didn't know how to react so I just gave him a small smile and began to eat my lunch. How does one react when one of the most powerful wizards just proclaim in front of the entire school that he was more or less in love with you. All the sudden I feel a hand grabbing my own I freeze for a minute and notice it was just James. Feeling his hand the roughness and largeness felt me safe, protected, and home. I intertwine our fingers "Mate we have a problem" I hear Sirius whisper. I turn my head and see Peter heading our way. I only feel anger course through me. I almost didn't have a shot with James, and it would have been all his fault. And, being raised muggleborn I did the only thing I could think of released James hand and when he is close enough to me I raise my leg and hit a bullseye.
Peter's eyes go wide his mouth falls open it looks like he is screaming but no sound came out. And, his hands grabbed his package and he fell to the ground. "YOU DIDN'T GIVE A RATS ASS WHO I WAS THIS MORNING BUT THREATING ME TO STAY AWAY FROM JAMES. WHO ARE YOU TO TRY AND CONTROL HIM." I got down to his level letting him feel a small part of my magic his eyes goes wide. "You feel that that is just a small part of what I have inside of me. I don't know what the future holds for me and James, but if you ever threaten me again, I swear to Merlin it will be the last breath, you take. I feel the dark magic rolling off you your master will fall at my hands" I whisper.
All the sudden I am pulled up and am being held by Sirius. All the sudden I hear a crack I turn and see James's fist going in for another him I know I am not as strong as Sirius, so I reach out and take James's free hand he freezes. And looks over at me I feel the electricity flowing through us. "Mr. Lupin would you help Mr. Pettigrew to the hospital wing?" Professor McGonagall was standing by us now.
Sirius let go of me and James wraps the non-bloodied hand around my waist, but I don't care what is happening I just stare into his eyes, and he looks back. "I am sorry professor, but I am going to have to say no to that request." The hall gasps.
And I break eye contact to look over at Remus I am also in shock in the future Remus never told anyone no. It shook me to the core. "Very well Mr. Lupin how about you Mr. Black." She asks.
Sirius looks at her like she is crazy, "he was coming over to attack us I don't know if it was physically or verbally but not a single professor came to our aide not even you Minnie. And apparently he verbally assaulted my sister this morning which" he looked over at me now, "we will be discussing later Lyra" then turned back to McGonagall, "So it is with a heavy heart I must say no to your request." He says.
She looks at him in shock and then nods, "Very well come along Mr. Pettigrew I shall take you to the hospital wing myself and Mr, Potter you should go yourself in case you broke your hand." She says "And, I would take points off for fighting, but since this was house business I am unable to stand in the way. But in the future do try to talk with words and not with fists or feet are we understood." She says looking at us.
James looks her right in the eyes, "I cannot promise you that Hermione is the most important person to me" he looks down in my eyes again "if anything or anyone tried to harm her they would face my rath because I may not know her yet, but I thank whatever deity I will have that chance to get to know her." He says.
I hear a few people go aww and it makes my heart melt a little bit more. This man makes my knees go weak and my heart and stomach do funny things. I have never felt this way for muggle or man. I just hope when he finds out what I know he will still look at me that same way. We begin the long walk to the Hospital wing. Remus and Sirius are walking behind us. They can still see us but giving us the privacy to talk if we needed it. "How do you know I am the one that should take you off the market? I mean there are smarter and prettier then…" I was cut off.
I felt my back hit the wall and I felt the power of his magic again I could see the possessiveness, want, and need in his eyes. It made my eyes widen in shock both of his arms were on each side of the wall he was a good 4 inches taller then me so I had to look up to see his eyes. I would definitely need a new set of panties before the night was through. "Hermione Lyra Black from the moment you stepped through that door there were no other witches there was only you. I have had to stop myself time and time again from killing any wizard that looks at you" he takes a deep breath "You have no idea how badly I want to grip you hair and pull it back as I kiss your plush lips and make you forget every other bloke who has had the honor to kiss those lips." His head falls to the wall right next to my ear I could feel his hot breath on my neck and it made me shiver. I could feel the grin on my neck. "You don't know how many times I have wanted to drag you back to my head boy dorm room and make you scream my name and my name alone." a moan escapes my lips. "I want you Hermione Lyra Black! I want to be the envy of all men. Knowing they cant touch you, kiss you, hold you. I want to prove to you I can be the man and wizard to take care of you emoitionally, intellectually, financially" I give him a look at that last part he nips my shoulder and I could have cum on the spot, "Most importantly physically" he whispers. Yep definitely just came note to self stock up on panties next hogsmead trip. Because I am going to definitely going to need it for this man. And James Potter is definitely all man. I feel him run his hands up and down my sides and I subconsciously push into him wanting more of his touch. He smiles and kisses my neck. "I can be a patient man, but I want to have the Potter engagement ring on your finger by the end of the year." I look at him in shock he was serious about this! He was serious about us it gave me butterflies at the thought.
I don't know if I can speak, "How can you be so sure about this about us James. You have known me for two days?" I ask him.
He pulls back and looks at me in a predatory way "Two days, two weeks, two years, two centuries. I know what I want and what I want is you so give me a chance." He slowly leans in I turn just before he reaches my lips. He pulls away and looks in my eyes "Start the courting process with me let me prove to you I can be the man you need the man you want the man you have dreamed of" he says to me.
If I had to imagine my dream man James would check all those boxes, but I want him to know everything he needs to understand what he is getting into with being with me. "I will consider it, but there are some things you have to know about me. Where I came from, what I have faced, what I have to do. And, after you know all this I will consider it but you have a chase ahead of you Mr. Potter" I tell him.
He grins, "I will win you over Miss. Black one way or another you will be the next Lady Potter." He says "besides I am one of the greatest seekers at Hogwarts I almost always catch the snitch and you my lady are my golden snitch and I intend to catch you at the end of the game" he says grabbing my hand, and we begin the treck back to the hospital wing like nothing happened. I look up at James and smile maybe the future wouldn't be so bad if I had James by my side. But, who doesn't enjoy a little chase now and then. I just hoped he and the other's accepted what I had to tell them. I don't know if I could do it on my own and now that I had a potential of something more I don't think I want to face the darkness without James Charles Potter by my side. Yes I had to tell them soon very soon.
AN:/ WOOOO anyone else feel that with the James and Hermione scene I definitely did when I was typing it. Felt a little hot under the collar. My computer is giving me troubles so I will try and get another chapter typed up tonight and possibly uploaded if not than I will try and get another chapter out tomorrow if not then next few days I won't leave you hanging.
