[U.S/Allied Airfield: Near Somme Valley]
[April 18th 1918]
flying Ace Jaune Arc was having lunch with his squadron at an Allied held temporary airfield near Somme Valley, just a few miles from enemy lines that were mainly held by the German army.
"Man Jaune I can't believe you got three more kills to your kill count."said one of Jaune's squad mates.
"Yeah that makes it seventy one confirmed kills for enemy pilots, forty nine german pilots, nineteen Austrian Hungarian pilots, and three Bulgarian pilots during the first few months of the war itself!"said another one of his squadmates known as Winters.
"Thanks Winters although I'm not sure what to feel about it. From what I heard the guys in the trenches hate me and I'm talking about the guys on our side."said Jaune who heard rumors that despite his reputation he was not loved by the Allied soldiers in the trenches.
"Yeah but they're just jealous that they didn't get their wings like you man. I mean how many of us pilots does the Red Baron himself consider a rival."said Winters as he padded Jaune on the back trying to make him feel better.
"Yeah Winters is right Jaune. Besides I overheard the officers speaking and there's rumors saying that the Red Baron is stationed on enemy lines here near Somme Valley in a place called Corbie."
"Smith you really need to stop he's dropping on the officers as you've already gotten in trouble twice with them when you were caught."scolded Jaune as Smith is what one would call the rebel of the squadron as he does what he wants when he wants except when people who outrank him are watching.
"Hey I can't help it man when I hear something interesting that catches my ear I just can't help but stick around and get as close as I can to listen."said Smith and his defense.
"Man Jaune I can't believe you, me, and Smith pass through flight school together as the process was not easy but man flying with you has been a dream come true as although I'm nowhere near the Ace you are I think I've done pretty well for myself."said Winters who had a personal tally of ten kills to his name.
"But doesn't it ever bother you Winters? You don't even know the guys you shoot down. You don't know if they have families waiting for them to come back home but because of you they'll never see their loved ones again. I mean I know if I didn't shoot those guys down they were going to kill me but still it's not easy living with the burden."said Jaune as he wondered how many families he tore apart with his kills.
"Hey this is war Jaune and war is not pretty. Sure if you had killed the same man during a time of Peace you would be labeled a criminal in a murderer but if you kill that man during a time of War you are considered a hero to your people and a monster towards your enemies people. Jaune believe me I think about those men I killed every day like you do and I know my burden is nowhere near as broad as yours but you got to know that's just the law of the jungle Sarge. It's kill or be killed that's how this war works."said Winters with a serious look on his face.
"Winters is right Jaune, war is not pretty and no matter what you do you have to fight to survive as there's no way I'm dying in this hell hole as I have a fiance waiting for me when I get back home."said Smith
"Careful Smith those idiots that never stopped talking about their girls back home don't make it!"set another squad mate as he did a banging suggestion with his finger causing Smith to punch him in the arm.
"Shut up."said Smith playfully.
"Guys line up Major Jensen is coming!"yelled a soldier as he came in to the ten causing the pilots to quickly get out of their seats and line up.
Major Jensen soon walked in in full military uniform including some of the medals he earned, including a purple heart after he was shot on duty by an enemy sniper.
"At ease men!"ordered Major Jensen causing his pilots to relax.
"I just got orders from high command. It appears that some of our fellow soldiers and no man's land spotted a large group of enemy Faulkner planes leading a bomber towards our position... and it appears the Red Baron himself is leading them."said Major Jensen with a serious look on his face as his pilots began to mummer among one another with worry.
"Don't be afraid! I know he has shot down a lot of our Allied planes and he's considered the best flying Ace this war! But don't forget who's in your squad! E-7 staff sergeant Jaune Arc, or better known to our enemies as Yellow Death!"yelled major Jensen reminding his pilots who is among them.
"Jaune is the best flying ace we have in the Allies! With him leading the charge I have no doubt even the Red Baron himself will even stand a chance!"yelled the Major causing his men to begin to regain hope as they remembered who was among them.
"Good! Now get your planes and cut off those Central bastards before they can do any major damage to our men in no man's land!"Yelled the major as the pilots under his command quickly you began running towards their planes as fast as they could.
Jaune quickly got into a SPAD SX.III and started it up knowing that it had been recently refueled and restocked with ammunition.
Jaune quickly pulled out something from is aviator pocket which was the last piece of the experimental dust crystal that came with him the day he came from Remnant and arrived in New York City.
"Good luck Jaune! And just in case this is the final time I see you it's been a pleasure being your commander soldier!"said Major Jensen as he gave Jaune a salute.
Jaune saluted back as he gave his commanding officer a reassuring smile as the planes began to take off to cut off the enemy near Corbie.

[Some time later."
Jaune "Yellow Death" Arc and Manfred "Red Baron" Richthofen where in a vicious aerial dogfight.
Both the best flying Ace's of the Great War were locked it in a vicious fight as both continued firing ammunition at one another and using the clouds of the sky to avoid each other's fire and the skills they acquired through training and time in the air.
Jaune could still recall how this happened just a few minutes ago.
[Flashback]
Jaune was flying at the front of a squadron went out of nowhere Winters was shot at.
Winters barely managed to avoid getting impaled by bullet fire when the squad saw where the shots were coming from.
Leading a large group of Faulkner planes was the signature red Faulkner playing with the black crosses on the wings and tail known to be piloted by the infamous Red Baron.
Jaune knew all to well from an earlier briefing before the major sent them off that they would be assisting the British in the battle of Lys.
Jaune's squadrons job was to prevent the enemy bomber from getting anywhere near important positions in the British line otherwise they might lose the battle.
Jaune didn't hesitate for a moment and quickly sent his plane hurling towards the Red Baron.
[Flashback End]
'Man this guy is as good as they say he is... no he's even better!' thought Jaune as he rotated his plane in a 360 degree loop to avoid getting shot at by the Red Baron's bullets.
As Jaune was getting shot at he noticed that a camel plane belonging to the British started shooting at the Red Baron.
Jaune thank whoever the mysterious pilot was but the Red Baron use the nearby cloud to to escape the camel playing.
"Oh no you don't!"Yelled Jaune as he went after the Red Baron.
It didn't take long to find him and without a moment of hesitation Jaune begin opening fire from his four machine guns mounted onto his plane.
The Red Baron carefully began avoiding the enemy fire until one lucky shot struck his left wing causing some tear and significant damage to the plane.
"Got you!"Yelled Jaune as the Red Baron lifted his plane up into the sky disappearing into another cloud.
'Where did you go?!' wondered Jaune before he found his answer as he was shot at from above.
Jaune's SPAD took some fire on his tail but thanks to Jaune's skills he managed to avoid getting struck himself with a little help from his Aura which was protecting him from the gunfire.
Jaune knew his Aura would protect him but he knew it was only a temporary shield as despite popular belief in Remnant, Aura does not mean you are bulletproof!
It is only a temporary shield and if you're stuck with enough bullets it will eventually run out and you will suffer gunshot wounds like a regular person!
It also doesn't help that they're miles up in the sky meaning any fall from that height Aura or not, means certain death!
"I have to turn it's my only chance!"Yelled Jaune as he did a 360 degree turn to avoid getting shot at.
This cause the dust crystal in his pocket to fall out of his pocket. Jaune tried to reach for it but the Red Baron began firing at him once more!
Jaune barely avoided getting hit by the gunfire but the dust Crystal was a different story.
By some strange miracle or a really lucky shot the crystal that was literally a spec in the atmosphere was struck by one of the Red Baron's bullets causing it to activate.
This cause a chain reaction within the crystal as the materials inside the bullet as well as the atmosphere causing the dust crystal to explode creating a circular wormhole.
"What the?!"said Jaune as he soon found his SPAD SX.III being pulled into the wormhole.
"Not again!"said Jaune does he noticed that his fellow pilots and enemy pilots were trying to get away including the Red Baron as the wormhole was having a vacuum like effect.
"If I'm going down I'm taking you with me!"Yelled Jaune as he opened fire on the Red Baron.
The bullet struck the underside of the Red Baron's Faulkner plane causing it to catch on fire and tumble towards the ground!
As Jaune and his plane were being pulled into the wormhole the last thing he saw was the infamous Red Baron with 81 confirmed kills and his famous red plane falling towards the ground nose first.
"YES!"Yelled Jaune as he accepted whatever fate had in store for him as he and his plane were sucked into the wormhole.
There you have it!
In the fight between Yellow Death vs Red Baron, Yellow Death came out on top on the end!
No one is really sure who shot down the Red Baron as many had made multiple claims saying they are the ones who shot the infamous Ace of World War I down.
But let's focus on a preview for the next chapter of the story.
Oh and yes Jaune Arc got a promotion!
Where will the wormhole take Jaune?
This question will be answered in the next chapter as Yellow Death continues!
Until then this is PrimusPilus signing out and hoping to see all of you next time as the story continues.
