Chapter 4: thugs?
Toru's POV
My phone alarm clock woke me up today, I wanted to be early to the beach to watch Percy surf and just relax to the sound of the ocean. After Percy and I had met three weeks ago, now, we had hit it off. Becoming fast friends and despite me trying to hide my attraction I still felt my mind going blank when those green eyes were on mine….
Or the way he said my first name. or when we were working out and his pants as he pushed down… gods above I wasn't sure how I was able to function. Iwa-chan hadn't been any help either. The spikey black haired green-eyed best friend since childhood had smirked and said that Toru was an idiot and that he needed to woo boys on his own, and not with his help.
'Tooru' he pronounced it the right way, but it made my heart flutter and my throat dry, how could someone be so hot and yet so perfect?
Rushing to relieve myself, I wash my hands and go for my toothbrush and tooth paste, letting the bristles get all the teeth and with a gurgle, I start would usually start with my face routine, but there was no point in doing my morning skin care routine. Especially if it was going to go to waste from the salt water.
Grabbing the premade lunch bag that Percy and I had made last night I rush out the door and count thirty six steps as I race towards the ocean, only to freeze at the third platform of steps. Percy wasn't alone. He was laughing and waving his hands to a red head who stood in a bikini with a lace kimono.
"Hey Percy!" I yelled out and both turned in my direction.
"Toru," Percy called out waving and when I made it, he said in English a bit slower for me, since I'm still learning, he introduced the pale attractive female by Rachel Elizabeth Dare.
"Nice to meet you," I said with forced politeness, they seemed way to close and I didn't like that.
….
Not to long after I got to the beach Percy said he was going to catch some good waves and had surfed out. Sipping my drink, I hide and scowl as the girl sits beside me.
"You don't need to fake; you don't like me because I'm taking all of Percy's attention." She said.
Turning to her I nod. "I don't really like you," I say bluntly. And if Iwa-Chan had been here I know he would've smacked my head.
"Look, Percy and I aren't dating, he's my friend, I've known him for awhile, but he can be oblivious." Rachel said making me glance at her profile. "He didn't even ask his old ex out, it was the other way around, and even though I knew he wasn't happy entirely he stuck it out with her." Rachel said.
Nodding slowly, I pick up the strawberry coated chocolate and offer it to her in peace.
"I'm Toru Oikawa, you can call me Oikawa."
"Oikawa, nice to meet you properly, call me Rachel Elizbeth Dare."
….
Percy's POV
When Rachels parents take the three of us out for dinner I watch as Toru excitedly puts foreign food in his mouth, there had been quite the sea food selection. And being the son of Poseidon I couldn't eat any sea food…. I mean I could, but I always felt guilty when I went to Atlantis and the fish spoke to me. Calling me prince, and all… plus I wasn't that into seafood, even before I had learned I was a demigod.
"Toru, what do your parents do?" Rachels dad asked, he was holding his fork delicately and his right leg was crossed.
"My father owns Oikawa Corporation, and my mother is a fashion designer," Toru said, and I leaned on the table interested in learning more about the boy I like.
"Fashion, what kind?" Rachels mom asked and even Rachel looked interested.
Picking up his phone that was on his left side Toru typed his password in and went to an app, showing us some photos. Toru wore a four-piece suit in one, stripped shorts, Japanese outfits of a samurai and I swear I wasn't drooling.
"You're a model?!" I ask
"Yea, only part time though," Toru said.
…
Its two hours after dinner, we had both moved into cabin 3, it had become easier since we did basically everything together, though I woke up earlier then the brunette, and I also had monsters to kill in my spare time.
So, when the monster attacked us, I totally to command. Pushing my friend behind me and taking my ball point pen out, twisting the cap off until I had a three-foot sword in hand. My watch turning into a shield and with that I charged the monsters.
There were four monsters, a cyclops, a hell hound and two empousa. The mist was covering it up in front of Toru's eyes and I wondered what he was seeing.
"Percy Jackson," one of the Empousa hissed, their wild flaming hair was bright, and their copper legs were a sight to see like always. "Die!" they hissed, and I swung my sword swiping and clashing the long claws they had. The hell hound was semi circling us, its beady eyes looked like it was imagining devouring me.
"Don't watch," I turn my head slightly to make sure Toru knows I'm talking to him. "I'll protect you,"
With that I unleash my powers.
Water rushing forwards, making a barrier to protect Toru, and to help me.
"Shouldn't have challenged me where I am surrounded entirely by water," I said and rushed forwards swinging my sword.
Meeting the hound in mid leap and making the water that came to me into an ice sword and stabbed the creature, hearing it yip and the gooey blood turning to dust. I had pierced its heart whilst we were in mid air.
"One down… three more to go to Jackson," I mutter.
Attacking the cyclopes, I run up its leg and when it is twisting and pawing at himself, the other female kind of vampire things attack their fellow monster. I use that to my advantage, keeping on running up, I flip up and land on its head. Luckily, I had taken those dancing lessons, nah the gymnastic ones when id been younger. With all my might in mid air I slam into the cyclopes neck and keep pushing down, the one-eyed giant dies turning into dust and I'm left facing the two hissing females.
As I'm getting ready to attack my last two challengers, I see from the corner of my eyes as I see Toru do something. He also has a sword.
He attacks one of the empousa and even though I am in shock I go in for the killing blows as they are distracted.
"Whhat?" I ask in confusion.
Smirking slightly Toru throws down the wooden sword and crushes me into a hug.
"How'd you fight all of those thugs?" he asked, and I frowned.
"let's say I've had plenty self defense classes," I say and in a way it was true.
