Chapter 4
Meeting Xiao
It was night by the time Venti and Starlight arrived at Wangshu Inn. Dvalin landed and Starlight slid off.
"Thanks Venti. You've been a big help." Starlight said.
Starlight looked down at Dvalin and patted him.
"And you Dvalin. Thank you for the ride."
"Well, if you need us, just call. Your pleas will be answered through the winds." Venti said.
"I will. Thanks again Venti." Starlight said.
Starlight watched Venti and Dvalin fly away back to Mondstadt. She then entered the Wangshu Inn and got a room. She tried to get some sleep but she couldn't. So she went up the stairs of the inn and went onto the balcony. She leaned against the wooden railing.
She was so into looking at the stars that she was startled to hear a voice right next to her.
"Couldn't sleep." he said. He was the young Adepti with dark teal hair and bright golden eyes.
"Oh! I didn't see you there. Yeah, I couldn't sleep." Starlight said.
"You're from Liyue, aren't you." the Adepti said.
"I guess I am. I don't remember being from Liyue. All I remember is losing my Mother at a young age." Starlight said.
"You should get some rest. It's not wise to stay up so late."
"I can't go back to sleep. I keep dreaming about the same thing."
"What do you dream?" the Adepti asked.
"I keep dreaming of me running away from something. And I remember seeing something glowing. I don't know what it means." Starlight said.
"Your dream could be sending you a message. You should pay more attention to it."
"I will. Thanks." Starlight walked back inside the Inn but the Adepti stopped her.
"What is your name?" he asks.
Starlight turned on her heel and looked back at the Adepti. "Starlight. And yours?"
The Adepti looked back at the stars. "Xiao."
Starlight smiled. "Nice to meet you Xiao."
Starlight left Xiao alone to look up at the stars.
