Now

"You're the reason for all of this," Bobby said as he climbed out of the doghouse and stood up. "You're why I'm the literal doghouse."

As the cold night air blew, Oliver looked down at Bobby's small appendage due to the weather and laughed.

"I wanted you to suffer, but this is an added bonus," Oliver smirked.

"Why are you doing this?" Bobby asked. "What did I do to you?"

"Because I hate you," Oliver told him. "I've hated you since all my parents could talk about is how great my cousins are. How well-behaved they are and what pillars of the community they are. How they get good grades at school and I should be more like them."

"So why me? I have five siblings, you know," Bobby told him.

"Because you're the youngest boy," Oliver said. "You're the easiest to replace in a loving family"

"How are you doing this?" Bobby asked.

"Because I've always had the power of being cute," Oliver told him. "Few people can resist me, although it seems like you can. You and that freak boyfriend of yours, that's why had to go, just like my parents did."

"What did you do to Luke?" Bobby asked as he grabbed Oliver by the shirt.

"Kept him from interfering," Oliver told him with a laugh. "He won't bother us anymore. Hit me, and I'll have your father on you for a real lesson in pain. Your family is mine now, Bobby. Your friends, teachers and everyone else you care about? They belong to me now."

"If you hate me so much, why not just kill me?" Bobby asked.

"In due time, after I'm done torturing you," Oliver said.

"I'll stop you," Bobby promised. "I'll get my family to see how evil you are."

"Good luck," Oliver told him as he saw the patio doors open. "Uncle Mike, help!"

Mike quickly ran over and punched Bobby to the ground.

"Bobby, I don't know what's come over you, but you've gone too far!" Mike told him as he put an arm around Oliver's shoulder. "Maybe we should consider military school and get you away from this family."

"He's got you under some kind of mind control!" Bobby shouted as he felt his sore eye. "You have to believe me!"

"I don't think I can trust another word that comes out of your mouth," Mike said as he led Oliver back to the house.

Bobby knew that he couldn't cry anymore. Instead, he balled his fist in anger.

"I have to get out if here and stop that freak," Bobby said to himself as he loped at the neighbor's fence. "For Luke."

Rain had started to fall as Bobby had crawled into the doghouse as far as he could to keep from getting wet. Today was the day of Luke's funeral, and here Bobby was stuck in a doghouse, naked and shivering. As Bobby lay there, he imagined what his life would have been like if Oliver hadn't come along. Would he have ended up with Luke as a boyfriend? Would his family have accepted him? He could really used someone to talk to right now.

"You'll be okay," a voice said as Bobby looked outside. Luke kneeled down to look inside at Bobby.

"How!?" Bobby asked in shock.

"Couldn't leave my favorite guy in danger, could it?" Luke asked with a smile. "I promised I'd help you. Sure, i can't really… do anything, but I can keep you from losing your mind."

"Oliver's taken everything," Bobby told him. "I've got nothing left, not even the clothes on my back."

"Know why I fell for you?" Luke asked as Bobby shook his head. "Because you're a tough kid. You stand up for your friends and family and you go for what you want. Are you going to let that little dork get the best of you?"

Bobby nodded with tears in his eyes. "Then find a way to get up and beat the hell out of that kid!"

Bobby nodded as he looked outside of the doghouse. "How do I unlock this chain around my neck?"

"Pick a lock, just like you did when you snuck a peak at Marcia's diary," Luke said.

"How did you—?"

"When I died, I pretty much learned everything," Luke told him. "At least the important stuff. We're in this together. We just need something to pick that lock."

Bobby looked out into the rain and noticed one of Alice's hairpins sticking out of the grass, having fallen out during a potato sack race. Bobby stepped outside in the rain to reach it, but found it was just out of reach.

"Come on," Bobby said as he got soaked, his fingers barely touching it. "So… close."

Inside the house, the family was just returning from Luke's funeral.

"That was so sad," Marcia said. "I can't believe something that horrible could happen."

"I can't believe he just happened to fall behind that car as it was backing up," Jan told her.

"Luke was a swell guy," Peter added. "I really liked playing basketball with him. Bobby really liked him, too. Too bad he couldn't go to the funeral."

"Well, if his attitude changes, maybe he can start going out more," Mike told him. "After I caught him attacking Oliver, I don't think we can trust him too much anymore."

Oliver thought about it. "You know, I think we're all too sad lately. Why can't we take a family vacation?"

"I do have some time off coming," Mike said. "After I get my bonus soon, we should be able to afford something really fun. But we can't leave Bobby home alone."

"Not even if we leave him enough food and water?" Oliver suggested, using his power to manipulate Mike and Carol.

"I do hate leaving Bobby out of our vacation, but he brought it on himself," Carol said. "Maybe he'll come around by the time we get back."

"Why do they still love Bobby? I thought I was getting them to hate him," Oliver thought. "I'd better do something to make them truly hate Bobby, to where they'll never love him ever again."

"I think we should tell Bobby as a family that we're going to Pirate's World without him," Peter said as he walked outside with Oliver. "Bobby's always wanted to go there to meet the Ice Cream Bunny."

"Just us telling him will hurt less," Oliver said as he walked outside, just as Bobby stopped stretching for the pin and looked up. "Aw, man, Bobby threw my frisbee on the roof. I told him it was my favorite one."

"I'll get Dad to get down when he gets home from the office," Peter said.

"But that's hours away, I was hoping to play with my favorite older cousin," Oliver said. "Can you get it for me? Please?"

"Oh, alright," Peter told him. "I'll get the ladder."

Bobby was laying in the doghouse, taking a nap until he heard the patio doors close as Peter set the ladder against the house and started to climb.

"What are you doing?" Bobby asked as he stuck his head out.

"Getting Oliver's frisbee that you threw onto the roof," Peter told him as he climbed.

"I didn't do that," Bobby told him. "You're supposed to wait for Dad to get home."

"I can do this, I'll just get the frisbee and come back down," Peter told him as he continued climbing.

"Oliver, tell him to come down," Bobby pleaded. "Please!"

Oliver pulled out a bottle of chloroform and put a rag over Bobby's mouth. Bobby struggled and soon fell unconscious as Oliver lay him on the ground.

"Got it!" Peter shouted. "I'll come down in a second."

"Sooner than that," Oliver said as he tossed a football at Peter, hitting him hard as he stumbled, falling back and rolling down the roof and over the side, screaming on his way down.

Carol and Alice ran outside and screamed at the site they found, with Oliver running up them, crying as he held onto Carol.

"Bobby did it!" Oliver shouted while crying as he pointed to the unconscious Bobby.
