Back with a long chapter to make up for the last being short as 'ell.

TriceTokushu: Lmao, I don't mind you rooting for Big at this point. He's speaking good game, I think I'd be hooked too.

DoggyPocky: Yup, Big is a charmer alright and has Caelia's attention. The real question is where is it gonna lead to in the future I guess...

Lost iin Fanfiction: Defiitely makes me think of Walmart, lol. A little real-life fact I just wanted to add to Caelia. Idk, I feel like it's something she would say at a random moment.

Once the snowcone machine was discovered, Cosmo had yet again started tearing the basement apart in finding the assortment of their favorite candles. The married couple figured, despite their assortment of junk food, they still wanted to make tonight's atmosphere cozy romantic. Thus the choice of watching romcoms. After she was through looking in this box, Wanda's idea to devour all the chocolate and then snuggle under a comforter in her husband's embrace on the couch didn't sound half-bad to her.

"I dunno," Cosmo popped up from one of the boxes. Wanda continued to hide the contents of the box she searched through, looking at him casually. "I might need to poof over to the corner store and pick some up."

"From the corner store?" Wanda questioned in a chortle. "Is that the level of romance we've reached?"

"We'll get the fancy stuff for turkey dinner." Cosmo held his arms out with a grin.

"I know, puddin'. I'm just pulling your leg."

"I can poof a trip across town if you want."

"No, it's okay." His wife assured. "I don't exactly plan on being very sexy in my sweatpants tonight, so I won't expect anything more from you."

"Hey, you will always be sexy to me."

"Aw, Cosmo."

"Buuuut, I'm still gonna get those candles."

"Please don't hoard all the mini chip bags off the shelf this time." Wanda begged. "They literally used the phrase 'if you have a leash for him' the last time I was there."

"I promise," Cosmo solemnly swore, holding a hand to his heart. "I will not come back with a stock-worth of chips this time."

Wanda held one cheek in her hand, propping that same elbow against her bent knees. Admiration rested in her gaze as her husband cheekily waited on her response to his promise. "You're very adorable."

His already-smile deepened, and Cosmo drew forward as to come before her seating level. Placing his hands on her bent kneecaps as he leaned forward and brushed his nose to her's coyly in a little head shake. Before pecking her lips with tiny kisses of his own. Wanda felt the warmth of her heart spur, and Cosmo pulled away, running one hand against her leg.

"Then I'll start being adorable all the time." He suggested.

Wanda brushed a finger along his cheek, then under his chin in holding it higher as she spoke in a whisper. "That won't be very good for me.."

"Exactly."

They kissed once more, and Cosmo got up and left for his tasks. Not long after he was gone did Wanda turn her attention back to the box and opened it in search of more.

Wanda fished a hand deep into the box. Maybe going by some items on the bottom might make it different this time around. Maybe it would ring a different meaning somehow. Careful not to break anything valuable, Wanda fished out a familiar black velvet necklace box. Something of which she knew, there was nothing new to this box she would discover that was for sure. Opening it, within the dented linings of where a necklace was to be displayed, set only the white pearls of that necklace with no thread running through them. The only thing holding it in shape being the indent of the box's design. Wanda touched a finger to one pearl in twirling it against the velvet. Watching as the shine of it rounded about like a ball of light by the direction the basement lights were hitting against it.

This wasn't one thing of jewelry Wanda had been passed from her mother. But none of which were in this box. The only real reason a necklace of this merit would be in this box could only be of one reason alone. The value was lost completely. Not in quality, not in money worth of it, not even from the fact that it was a pile of pearls and only remnants. But the emotion behind it...was it truly there still?

. . .

Months later...

Could it have been predicted? Who's to say. That the eldest of the Fairywinkles' new generation and youngest of the Oakbelles had been inseparable since their first shot at romance. Declared officially as a couple by their own word. Of course, this reveal was urgently asked by their friends and family until there was an actual answer.

If Caelia had previously thought that her mother was overbearing, she'd become a whole other nosy in her daughter's own relationship. Sometimes Caelia wondered if she had any chill, but she chose to share very little because of it. It was the first real relationship she'd agreed to in a long time, and she wasn't about to let Jessamine spill her crazy beans everywhere when she felt things getting more and more serious with Big every day.

Caelia tried to get it out of her mind. She was more than happy with Big, and continuing to work on the corporate project her father had assigned her to. So long she was doing more than sitting around like a houseplant, she felt pretty content than she had in almost a year.

Sitting with her legs lengthened against the last step of one of the marble staircase in her home, Caelia wrote in a pale pink journal with a heart lock. Jotting down important thoughts she'd kept locked away since as long as she could remember. So long as she'd always been put under a certain spectacle by others, she'd always been the most secretive of the entire family. As she wrote with a blue ink pen, she touched a hand to the string of white pearls resting around her neck, gifted by her boyfriend.

"Writing in another one of those silly ol' things?"

Right on schedule. Caelia turned her head to her mother coming from around the corner. "Morning, mummy."

"There's breakfast if you'd like."

"I have brunch soon with Big."

Jessamine had been close to leaving the foyer before turning around. "At...the Fairywinkles?"

Her daughter felt the weight of her mother's intrigued gaze, and she looked up. "Yes, indeed."

Jessamine opened her mouth.

"Mum, I've been there before. They know me." Caelia reminded.

"What will you wear?"

"The clothes that are on my body."

"I-"

"And I'm going over early to see him."

Her mother had always told her never to show up unannounced to people you were trying to impress. But did Caelia care to listen? No. This is how forward she was, and this was an opportunity to see how it would fly with these Fairywinkles.

"Alright, fine. So long as you stay on their good side."

"I wouldn't worry about that, mum."

The front entrance opened as a cornflower blue fairy entered, wiping sweat free from his brow as he took off his framer gloves from work with the lawnmower. He breathed in relief for a much-needed break as he greeted the two ladies.

"Morning."

"Morning, Finch. There's eggs if you would like." Jessamine offered.

"Thank you, ma'am." The blue fairy nodded in time for her to leave. He came towards the staircase which Caelia sat upon, taking his seat a step above her's with a huff.

"Oof." Caelia laughed. "Couldn't fix the grass with any magic, could ya?"

"Not when your mom likes no excess magic in the soil."

"Take it from a pro," the pink fairy said. "When she tried teaching me to plant when I was five, I ended up using the box of super seeds."

Finch cocked a brow in teasing. "Huh, so you were extra then, too."

She batted his knee and he chuckled.

"How's the art studio?" Caelia asked.

He shrugged. "I've been upgraded from cleaning paint off smocks and brushes to rinsing mugs."

"So a promotion then!"

He rolled his eyes dramatically as she laughed.

"At least it's credit." Finch supposed.

"There you go," Caelia tapped his shoulder by the back of her hand. "Your big break may not be here, but it's gonna help you get it somewhere else."

"Speaking of, how's your work going with your dad's company?"

"I think I'm actually impressing the board." She nodded in a wide grin. "We have a meeting tomorrow that I have a lead in."

"Very cool," Finch complimented. "I'm sure you'll be nothing but amazing."

"Daw." Caelia took a look at the time at the grandfather clock as she floated off the step. "I should get going, I'm gonna meet Big for brunch."

"How's the boyfriend, anyway?" Finch asked in following her to the front door.

"Wow, the boyfriend." She noted as she reached for the door's handle. "So formal."

"Hey, I've only met him briefly." Finch defended. "As far as I know, he's the only guy to get Caelia Oakbelle to say yes to dating."

"Because I'm a hard head?"

"Ah, maybe you're just too good."

"Finch, you flatter boy." Caelia shook her head in opening the door. "I'll see ya."

"See ya, Cee."

She left as Finch smiled upon their chat, before floating off in search of those breakfast eggs.

In a cloud of pink smoke, Cealia appeared in front of the large wrought iron gates of Fairywinkle Manor. Looking beyond at the stone path that led up the freshly trimmed blue-green grass hill to the top, where the white marble mansion stood. Upon one of the beige stone columns lining the main gates, Caelia floated to the intercom system implemented. She pressed on the ringer button to allow her arrival to be known.

Seconds later, the speaker rang as a voice demanded; "Not interested!"

Caelia gave a crooked smile in knowing who usually answered. "Not a seller, Piero."

"Who is this?"

"Caelia, here to see your brother."

"Oh, right. One sec."

Caelia stepped away from the intercom, awaiting as within another few seconds a large buzz of the entrance ensued in unlocking the magic-proof gates for a few seconds for Caelia to open it. She entered the home lot as she closed one of the large iron gates behind her, and in waiting no time, poofed up the path to the front door of the Fairywinkle home. Floating before the white ornate double doors. She pressed the doorbell in awaiting her second entry before Piero answered. A purple-eyed fairy with a round yet square-like jaw and jet black hair similar to his brother's slicked backed behind his ears.

"Sorry about that Caelia, come on in."

"Sellers coming by lately?"

"More than usual, it's giving me a migraine."

The pink fairy entered the home she had become familiar with in her relationship with Big. The grand foyer floored of marble white and high white accent walls with engaged columns embedded upon them. A double white marble staircase and swirly iron railing similar to hers at home on opposing sides of the room ending right before two entryways to two archways on each side. The staircase coming intact on the stop stairway loft on the second floor of the same iron design. Upon the middle a designated round glass table upon a round faux-fur white rug that aligned the center of the room. Upon the bottom between the staircases leading forward laid the main lounge room.

"He'll be down in a sec, I have to head back to work." Piero said. "Ya know the place, make yourself comfy."

"Thanks." She said, choosing to wait where she was for her boyfriend.

Upon the archway to the right of the room, a woman floated through with a tea in hand. Soft pink eyes upon a round pale face and white platinum hair with newly added beautiful platinum pink highlights in a low bun to match her eyes, and the newest thing talked about in the circle of her ladies. She'd always had influence, it's partially what had to do with making the Fairywinkle name so big. She was draped in her baby blue beach dress with long bell sleeves, most likely on her way to the lot's pool for some morning sun.

"Caelia," she greeted with a smile in approaching, her Italian accent heavy in speaking her second language. "How are you, dearie?"

"I'm good, Mrs. Fairywinkle. Yourself?"

"Oh, smettila tu. Please call me Cadabra, there is no need to be formal."

Caelia smiled. "Of course. I love your new hair."

"Grazie. Do not mind me, I am going to enjoy this mattina."

"Of course, your son and I are gonna have brunch outside."

"Oh, romantica!" The Fairywinkle mother gushed. "Please enjoy our space, I still try to come here when I can."

Caelia blinked. "Did you move out?"

"Si, a few weeks ago. The boys need their space."

The pink fairy shrugged. "Well, I'm sure they have quite enough of that already."

"Si, but Carmine and Piero are looking for other homes as well. My Firo may just have the house by himself very soon."

"Well, I'm sure he'd enjoy that. He loves solitary."

The mother laughed in an agreeing nod, before giving a hinting look. "Of course, he does not want to get too lonely."

The pink fairy smiled politely. It seems the parents on Caelia's side weren't the only ones dropping heavy hints.

"I understand, madre." Caelia said, addressing her the way Cadabra had insisted she use more often. Cadabra gave a small squeal of delight, giving Caelia a one-armed hug as the pink fairy returned it with a smile.

Like thunder, two babbling fairies appeared in smoke above the right staircase. Arguing away as they floated down in continuing all the way, Caelia smiling out of the silliness of her boyfriend and his other brother Carmine, his hair a puffy curly navy blue with purple eyes.

"Firo, Carmine!" Cadabra silenced them almost instantly. "E un modo per comportarsi di fronte a un ospite!?"

"Rilassati, mamma!" Big retorted in Italian too.

"Guardalo." Cadabra warned. Carmine huffed in floating off and Cadabra too went about her way.

"Baby, hey." Big said, floating over. He took her hand and kissed the soft of her lips. "What'chu doing 'ere early?"

She sported a small puppy look. "I can't come say hi?"

He smirked. "Well, with that face of yours.." he looped his arms around her waist in drawing her forward as her hands met his chest. "How can I say no?"

Big leaned in to kiss her lips again and one of Caelia's feet popped up behind her happily.

"Ya look fantastic as always." He said as they parted.

"Do you really have to finish work, now?" Caelia asked in a low flirty tone as her nose pressed against his.

"With you 'ere, I might keep getting distracted."

"Hm."

Big pulled away in taking her hands and kissing them once. "I'll see if they got it ready, yet."

"Okay." Caelia smiled coyly as he floated off. The pink fairy hovered forward beyond the foyer to the lounge area. In entering, her fairy phone rang and she pulled it out to see her mother calling. Slight tension caused her to bite her lip, before picking it up.

"Mum, hi."

"Come get pedicures with my friends and me tomorrow."

What a nice hello. "I can't, I have a conference tomorrow with the board almost all day."

"Did I not tell you?"

Caelia felt a remorse feeling in her gut, knowing something was wrong. "What.."

"It's been rescheduled for today, in an hour."

Caelia's eyes bulged in absolute bafflement. "What? No one told me."

"I thought you knew, it was done for your convenience."

"My convenience? They'd asked me if tomorrow worked and I say yes, as did they."

"I suppose I didn't know that in calling.."

"You rescheduled it?"

Jessamine was spiraling, and Caelia certainly knew by the demand she'd been putting on her lately that this wasn't a mistake. The pink fairy was losing her patience more and more, and this crossed a line. Did her mom take crazy pills this morning?!

"Do they know I'm busy?"

"Since this morning, yes."

She'd had it up to here.

"God, you're crazy.."

"Oh, Caelia-!"

She hung up.

Big reentered the room in sending a last text to a co-worker, looking up upon his distressed girlfriend who held a hand to her eyes. "What's the problem, sweets?"

Caelia turned around, taking his offer hand. "My mother."

"Whatta 'bout her?"

"She rescheduled my meeting to today without even asking me."

"Ouch." Big slightly laughed. "Why?"

She pummelled his shoulder. "Hey."

"I know, I'm sorry sweets." He assured, taking her hand once more. "Why'd she do it?"

Caelia hugged her free arm to herself. "The reason she always undermines me, I suppose." She sighed. "I don't know how to keep going on like this."

Big stroked her hand, then moving it to her cheek. "Why not move out?"

She looked to him baffled, always thrown off at how Big always seemed to say what no one else wanted to.

"With what money in my pocket?" Caelia laughed. "I can't depend on my parents my whole life, but I can't fend right now when every job opportunity is somehow being shot down by the same mother supporting me."

"There's always ways around these things, peach." Big pulled his girlfriend forward, allowing her hands to strap again his chest as he hugged her waist. "The money ain't what you worried about is it?"

Caelia shrugged her shoulders, looking down shyly. "If she keeps getting in the way, it's gonna set a name for me. And then how am I gonna fend ever?"

Big's eyes observed her face warmly, lifting her chin with a knuckle to peer into her's. "Whateva the reason, I'll be behind you sweets." He raised his brows with a solemn look. "Ya know that, right?"

The pink fairy smiled, leaning in to give him a peck on the lips. "Yes. I do."

Feeling revived after brunch with her boyfriend, Caelia felt well enough to go home and face this head-on. To try and confront her mother without allowing Jessamine to have the upper hand like she always did. Caelia could not keep enduring this vicious cycle of ignorance. Caelia was one to keep her cool especially, many knew that from seeing how she behaved calmly even in the hottest waters. But her mother kept pushing her buttons more and more. Caelia thought being in a relationship might make her stop even, but it only seemed to strengthen. The day would have to come in which her foot would be put down.

Entering the front door of her home, Caelia kept her head down in bracing herself for her mother's antics. One like a hysteric dog awaiting her after a simple trip to the Fairywinkle household.

She was instead though greeted by a voice she'd much rather hear as she looked up.

"Buttercup!"

She gasped. "Papa!"

The pink fairy threw herself into her father's arms as he laughed in return. She could not help but grin in pulling back to look at him. Decked in his usual navy blue suit and tie, Elm Oakbelle's blue hair was greased into a retro side part and his teeth as pearly white as his daughter remembered.

"I'm so glad you're home." Caelia held his hands, as her mother reentered the room in happiness of her husband's return as well.

"I know, I've missed all of you." Elm said. "Hope you all haven't gone too crazy."

"As crazy as we've already been?"

He chuckled. "You looking forward to tomorrow's conference?"

"It would be hard to tell." She shot a look to Jessamine. "Since mother rescheduled it to be missed."

"Is that so?" Her father chuckled in looking to his wife.

Jessamine sported a playful look. "I'm sorry, dearest. But I think we're plaguing our daughter with one too many things to focus on right now."

"She still thinks I have the mind of a worm.." Caelia mentioned.

"Jessamine, darling, our Caelia is a well-strung woman. A project like this is refreshing."

Caelia nodded with her father's power on her side, and Jessamine exited as she always did in her downfall of a conversation.

"So," the pink fairy asked her father. "Does that mean we could reschedule when I'm available?"

"Unfortunately, not so last minute."

"But mum is allowed to change things last minute?"

"You know how she is."

Caelia's gaze was irritated. Her father gave a crooked smile.

"Your mother may have a point, too."

His daughter looked lost. "How?"

"A Fairywinkle doesn't pass loyalty easily."

"Oh, papa-"

"Which is a good thing for you to have it," he said. "Keeping your attention on this might be for the better."

Caelia felt both refilled and rejected by her father's return funnily enough. While defending Caelia from her mother, Elm still seemed to find a way to show how his intentions still somewhat had the same roots as Jessamine's.

Supposedly old habits died hard.

As the late evening blanketed over Oakbelle Manor, Big pulled up in the round stoned driveway before the gate in his jet black town car. Parking right in front of the iron bars as he exited wearing his shades despite the lowering of the sun. It seemed he always had a message to send with his presence despite the lack of people around.

Big held the envelope pink purse belong to Caelia that she had left at his house during brunch. He had a late-scheduled meeting to be at in no less than a half-hour, but he figured he could be courteous enough to drop this off rather than send someone over for him. He went to the intercom system before the gate and pressed the call button in requesting access, but after a solid minute of no answer, was rejected by the buzz of the allowed entrance. He mumbled a curse under his breath, turning to his car in order to get his phone and call Caelia.

"Here to return that?" Someone asked.

Big turned to realize he wasn't alone. Rather he was with the gardener who opened the gate from the inside with a flick of his wand to allow the guest access. Big entered to look at the cornflower blue fairy who had been weeding by the manor's border.

"I was gonna have someone send it over but," Big shrugged as he floated through. "Least I could do."

"'Course."

"How ya doin'. Finch, right?"

"That it is." The blue fairy removed one gardening glove before returning the handshake Big offered. "I guess we've only met briefly in a group."

"Eh, sorry we're only meeting now."

"Ah, no worries." Finch waved off. "Working two jobs keeps me busy. I'm lucky if I get to see a movie with my friends once every two weeks."

"I get that," Big nodded. "Runnin' a business ain't no cake."

"For sure," the blue fairy agreed, removing his gardening gloves. An awkward silence followed. "Don't you have brothers working with you, though?"

"Two knuckleheads. Good at what they do, but always need my word for some reason." Big said. "Sure I'm in charge, but it wouldn't kill 'em to make their own decisions and stop waitin' for me to hold their hand."

Finch let out a low snicker. "I guess I get that...the people I work for at the art studio don't really like to go beyond what they're already good at."

"Wish I could help you there, but I wouldn't know too much about any art." Big shrugged. "Father prepared me for the things that fend."

That slightly stepped out of line, but Finch chose not to address it.

"You should know, right?" Big gave a tap of Finch's shoulder in a laugh. "Working for the Oakbelles get's your hands dirty, teaches ya more than you need."

Finch chuckled in return. "I've broken a few sweats, sure."

"Yeah, got a few migraines from some bozos in the business myself."

"Boys, boys. You're both pretty." A third intervened, both men turning at Caelia's arrival down the path from the house. She came by her boyfriend to take her purse back and thanked him with a small kiss.

"You keep leaving that thing around it's gonna have to start living there." Big joked.

"Oh, and who's gonna take it?" She patted his shoulder with the same purse. "Your mother?"

"She's already gotta parlor of purses and shoes. What's one more?"

Caelia chuckled, turning towards Finch. "Finch, you staying for dinner?"

"I gotta head home," he admitted. "Never gonna catch up on sleep with this new work schedule if I don't."

"I'm sorry, bud. I wish you weren't so hyper-stressed." Caelia sympathized.

"Don't be, I'm doing it out of choice."

"A man definitely doesn't get work done out of just sitting around, Caelia." Big reminded, putting his arm around her. "These things take a little elbow grease."

"Save the lecture, I know what I'm getting into when I pick up on work." Caelia laughed, holding a halting hand to her boyfriend's smug face. "Wouldn't hurt to get some fresh new workers in the world."

"Yeah, because the current ones prefer our generation as burrito-fetchers." Finch joked, allowing the three to laugh.

Big took a look at his heavy watch, squinting by the late evening's glowing sundown. "I gotta head out if I'm gonna make that meeting." He looked to Caelia, holding her chin by his hand in giving her another kiss. "See ya tomorrow?"

"I'll be there, love you." Caelia waved off.

"Love ya, babe." Big said in exiting through the gate. He gave a nod in goodbye to Finch who returned the gesture. Soon after getting into his town car and taking off as Caelia remained on the lawn with Finch.

"You sure you don't wanna stay for dinner?" Caelia asked once again.

"It's pre-made noodles night for me." Finch said. "Trust me, I need the sleep."

"Suit yourself." Caelia said. She could tell by the tiredness in his gaze, it wasn't just lack of sleep. He'd been really busting his gut at the art studio in trying to work with actual artists and get his work noticed.

"Y'know, they're gonna come around." Caelia assured him. "They'll start giving you better projects eventually. And it never hurts to ask."

"Right now, it would hurt to ask." Finch admitted. "But, thanks."

Caelia gave a crooked frown. Finch was both passionate about what he does, but at the same time, had a realistic filter on the world. Two of the weirdest combinations someone who wanted to be an artist could have. But, his straightforwardness is what always got him to where he was in life. Right now though, it all came down to his talent in trying to impress these people.

"Can you show me what you've been working on?" She asked. Finch always seemed to trust her word. Caelia didn't want to brag, but she herself had an eye for good artistic value and could maybe make a good advisor.

Finch floated over to the brown duffle bag he had nearby where he'd been doing gardening. Atop it were two rolled papers as he picked up the one he wanted and hovered back over to Caelia who floated to his side as he unrolled both ends in showing her.

Watercolor paintings were one of his strong suits. And the purple-pink-blue combination of the scene of a meadowed cottage against a sunset with such exotic yet gentle colors was a sight to see like no other. Certainly in Caelia's eyes.

"You've got it, Finch." Caelia waved a hand at the painting. "You've got talent, and they'd be crazy not to see it."

"Thanks, Cee." He said in observing his work. "It's hardly museum-worthy, though."

"I'd disagree, but, keep that motivation."

He laughed a snort in rolling his painting back up. "I should really go, I'd like to get one night of sleeping."

"Go before you pass out."

He chuckled, picking up his duffle and throwing it around him as he tucked his art underneath his arm. Waving bye to Caelia before he flicked his wand and poofed away in a cloud of blue smoke.

Caelia floated back up the path of her home as the sun finally set into the purple night skies of Fairy World. She hovered up the steps and back into the foyer of her home, as she passed by the archway leading into the main living room in an attempt to go upstairs.

"I do what I do out of love."

Caelia stopped with her hand frozen on the stairway post, turning her head to the darkness of the living room. All the lights were off within, so it didn't make sense as to why her mother would be sitting in the dark. Then again, it was Jessamine.

The pink fairy hovered to levitate in the archway, looking within as Jessamine sat on one of the couches in her long lavender silk train robe with fluffy sleeves. Playing with the stick and olive of the martini she drank. Caelia couldn't take her seriously.

"Mummy?" Caelia asked.

"I do it all for you, pumpkin." Jessamine said. "So that you're not ending up in the wrong hands."

"Mum, don't you want to spend some time with papa?"

"Firo," Jessamine continued, intriguing Caelia more by the mention of her boyfriend. "Is like gold, but you're only silver Caelia."

Caelia's mouth fell open. Um...ouch?

"Yet here you two are," Jessamine gestured with open arms. "And that is not something worth letting go."

The pink fairy had wanted to confront her for all that she did today, but right now, she needed to defuse whatever Jessamine was talking about.

"Mum, Big is different than others. I won't be letting him go anytime soon."

"You need to stay faithful to that, dearie." Her mother warned. Though sitting in the dark, her eyes didn't leave Caelia's from where she sat as she took a sip of her drink.

"I will worry about my own relationship, mum." Caelia said. "And you just worry about papa's homecoming. I'm sure he doesn't want to deal with our drama after a long trip."

"Remember Caelia, you're faithful, keep that with Firo."

"Could you please stop acting like you know him better than I do?"

"Men like him need watering." Jessamine ran her finger around the rim of her glass. "And you're the one who must do it by being loyal by his side."

"Like a dog?" Caelia retorted. "Mum, please. You hardly know Big enough to say this of him."

Jessamine lifted from the couch, drawing the long train of her robe behind her and floating from the shadowy room to her daughter waiting in the archway of the foyer. Jessamine sipped the icy coolness of her martini and swallowed in stopping before her daughter with observant eyes. Caelia feeling as if the purple of her mother's eyes were ones of a bewitching dictator in how solemnly disdain she looked. Jessamine's cool breath huffed against her daughter's face in speaking.

"Except I do."

Behind the bleakness of Caelia's face, there was fright.

Jessamine lifted her fingers to her daughter's face in a mocking pout, giving a sound of faux-pitty. "Don't fret, dear." She said, tapping a hand to her daughter's cheek. "Mother knows best."

Jessamine brushed past Caelia in leaving. The Oakbelle daughter remaining stiff in the archway as she stared in the hollowness of the living room. Soon forgetting what she had been trying to confront her mother about, and immediately being reminded of why she never could.

The angel she seemed to think of her mom as a little girl was turning out to be a witch in disguise.

To be continued...
