Alright, here's the fourth part. This is an even shorter part than the last one, but that's kinda to be expected when the previous parts were me merging two episodes into one part each. I'm also unable to change the duel too much from canon, so sorry about that.
In any case, hope you enjoy regardless.
Yu-Gi-Oh ARC-V
Unity Between Dimensions
Part 4: Enter the Rebels
Within a secluded alleyway unnoticed by the passersby, three people stood within its shadows. One was a teenage male with black and purple spiky hair and wearing a tattered jacket that hung like a cape. Another was a slightly older male with blueish hair with green bangs, a red scarf, and a blue trench coat that's slightly tattered. The last was the sole female around the first male's age that had long, purple hair with lilac strands up front, a cream vest, and worn-out pants. Their faces were obscured by goggles, sunglasses, masks, and/or scarves.
They were all staring upward, gazing at the hourglass-shaped tower where the Leo Corporation and Leo Institute were stationed at. The spiky-haired male soon pulled out what appears to be a badge with the initials for the Leo Institute on it.
"This appears to be the place..." he said as he put the badge away and faced his two comrades, "You all know what to do?"
The two nodded. "We'll find out everything we can about that tower and their possible connection to our enemy," the second male answered.
"Remember to keep a low profile," the female added, "We shouldn't reveal ourselves so recklessly. Isn't that right, brother?"
She said that as she faced the second male, who could only sigh at that. "... Fine..." was all he said.
"Alright. We'll meet up later to exchange information," the first male said, "Call if there's trouble. I'm counting on you."
The two people nodded before heading off, still unseen by the passersby. The remaining male prepared to head off himself before taking one last look at the tower.
Within the Leo tower, a duel between Sylvio and Kakimoto was just about to end. The other two lackeys, Ootomo and Yamabe, were watching nearby.
"Alright, I'll be tributing my monster to summon Mobius the Frost Monarch!" Sylvio called out, bringing out a large man covered head-to-toe in cyan armor.
Mobius the Frost Monarch/Level 6/ATK 2400/DEF 1000
"And with him summoned, I can destroy your Dark Room of Nightmare and your face down Scrap Iron Scarecrow!" he continued, his monster blasting a snowstorm that freezes Kakimoto's sole Trap Cards.
"Uh-oh!" the fire lackey cried out, aware of what's happening next.
"Now Mobius! Strike down his Solar Flare Dragon!" Sylvio ordered as Mobius delivered a punch that destroyed Solar Flare Dragon, Kakimoto could only cover himself in response.
Kakimoto LP: 400 - 0
WINNER: SYLVIO!
"Man, it's not fair that you have such better cards then me..." Kakimoto responded, "And here I thought I was done getting blasted by snowstorms..."
"Sure I have some good cards, but I also have better skills," Sylvio replied, "Or my name isn't..."
He snapped his fingers, prompting his lackeys to rushed to him.
"Sylvio!" they all finished at once.
"Indeed. I have the skills that pay the bills, and that give the thrills," Sylvio continued, "So let's give it up for..."
"Sylvio!" his lackeys finished once again.
Sylvio chuckled at that. "Sure, some may say I have a large ego, and..." he said as his lackeys finished his sentence.
"They're right!" they said.
"True, but it's because of my skills that I'm a perfect Duelist!" Sylvio said, "And that perfect Duelist's name is..."
"SYLVIO!"
Sylvio chuckled as he turned away from his lackeys. "Yes, indeed. It sure makes me wonder if there's anyone that can even beat me," he questioned as one of the lackeys gained an unamused look.
"Well, there was Yuya and Rin..." Ootomo muttered, only to be met by a glare from Sylvio and an eye twitch from Kakimoto.
"Don't you even utter their names!" Sylvio demanded, his mood taking a complete 180.
"Yeah! I have enough grief knowing that that ice witch managed to out-burn me!" Kakimoto added.
"To think that I'd suffer such an embarrassing loss at their hands, especially when Yuya had the gall to finish me off with that garbage Block Spider!" Sylvio yelled in anger, "Mark my words: the only reason I lost was because Yuya had those Pendulum Cards!"
Ootomo and Yamabe sweatdropped from that statement. "But Sylvio? You also had Pendulum Cards," the latter reminded Sylvio, "Remember? You took some from Yuya right before the duel."
"And wasn't it you who gave Yuya that Block Spider as well?" Ootomo added, only to be rewarded by a very loud yell.
"THAT'S NOT THE POINT!" Sylvio retorted, "The point is that I won't rest until I get my revenge on those two!"
He then turned toward one of the windows. "Mark my word, Yuya and Rin... I will beat you two next time!"
At You Show, the students were busy washing up at the restroom's sinks. Yuya, in particular, was feeling mighty refreshed after washing his face.
"Man, there's nothing like washing oneself after a duel..." he said with a satisfied sigh.
"Sure is. After an exhausting day that was, a good wash always does wonders," Sora added. Ever since Yuya and Sora had that duel the other day, Sora was officially enrolled into You Show. And so far, he's content.
"Just make sure to hurry up, Yuya," Zuzu warned, "There isn't enough sinks to go around and Allie and I need to make a trip to the grocery store soon to pick up some ice cream for later today."
"Alright, just hold your horses, Zuzu," Yuya replied with a wave, "Stuff like this takes a while to do. The stench of success doesn't wash off easily."
Zuzu gained a slightly disgusted look after that statement. "I'm pretty sure that isn't the stench of success, Yuya..." she commented before turning to Rin, "You sure you don't want to come with? It'd probably beat staying with these smelly boys."
Rin giggled. "I'm sure. Yuya and I still need to catch up on our Synchro lessons after all that craziness with Pendulum Summons," she explained, "Besides, the stench here is nothing compared to what I've dealt with back home."
"If you say so," Zuzu replied, rolling her eyes, "Just make sure Yuya behaves himself while we're gone, okay?"
Yuya took slight offence to that, though Rin merely smiled. "Don't you worry, Zuzu. I'm sure your boyfriend will be at his best behavior," she said, prompting a frustrated blush from Zuzu.
"RIN!" she yelled at her adoptive sister as Rin giggles.
After everyone was all washed up, Zuzu and Allie headed off to the grocery store. As expected, Rin stayed behind so she could get back to teaching Yuya how to Synchro Summon. By the time evening has arrived, Zuzu and Allie were on their way back to You Show carrying bags filled with ice cream.
"That was certainly a bit of work..." Zuzu commented, "Kinda hard to pick out ice cream flavors when everyone has such different tastes..."
"But I'm glad we still did it," Allie added, "Everyone's gonna be really happy when we bring these back!"
Zuzu nodded with a smile. The two continue their walk until, suddenly, they heard talking. Zuzu bent down and hushed Allie as they turned to where the talking was coming from. They saw two teens walking along the upper road. The girls recognized them as Sylvio's lackeys.
"I have to say, Sylvio is looking more determined than ever..." Ootomo said.
"I suppose that's what defeat does to a person," Yamabe guessed.
"Still, I almost feel sorry for those two guys, Yuya and Rin," Ootomo continued, much to the girls' shock, "Especially Yuya. Once Sylvio get his hands on him, he'll wish he'd never learned how to duel."
Zuzu glared at the two lackeys, frustrated that they're talking about Yuya like that.
"Hey, we better pick up the pace!" Ootomo suddenly said, "Sylvio won't like it if we're late with his food."
Yamabe nodded as the two rushed ahead. Zuzu soon turned to Allie.
"Let's follow them," she suggested as the two girls did just that.
At the Paradise City harbor were a multitude of warehouses and cargo cranes. Standing on top of one of the warehouses was the spiky-haired male from earlier. He was currently looking around, but wasn't having much luck finding what he was looking for. He then spotted two teens entering the warehouse he was standing on.
Within the warehouse were Sylvio and Kakimoto, sitting on some couches. Sylvio was currently tossing darts to a nearby dart board. Just the, the warehouse door opened up, revealing Ootomo and Yamabe as they entered.
"We're back with your 'Sweet Milk Apple Berry Pie with Honey'," Ootomo announces themselves, "Sorry we're late..."
Sylvio sighed in annoyance. "You better be sorry. We've been waiting for an hour," he informed.
"Sorry again..." Yamabe apologized, "We'll try to make it up to you. How about I feed you personally? Or how about I chew your food for you?"
Sylvio then gained a disgusted look. "How about you just shut up before I throw up?"
Outside the warehouse, Zuzu and Allie had just arrived. Seeing the open door and hearing voices coming from within, they could probably guess where the lackeys went.
"This must be the place..." Zuzu guessed as Allie had a apprehensive look.
"Zuzu, shouldn't we let Yuya and Rin know about this?" she asked.
Zuzu looked down to the ground, remembering their last duel with Sylvio and how she and the kids were in trouble before they were rescued by Yuya and Rin. After a bit, she raised her head, looking more determined than before.
"Yuya and Rin tried so hard to help us back then, Allie," she informed, "Now... it's time I return the favor."
She then turned to Allie, handing her the grocery bags she was carrying. "You head back to You Show and inform everyone about this," she said, "I'll deal with Sylvio in the meantime."
Allie wasn't too sure about this, but seeing Zuzu's determined face ultimately made her nod. With that, Allie headed back while Zuzu went toward the warehouse where the lackeys were holed up in. However, she was unaware that a certain masked person was watching it all play out. The person appeared momentarily surprised by Zuzu's presence, especially after seeing her face.
'Was that... Lulu...?' he thought.
Back in the warehouse, Sylvio was just about to take a bite out of his food until...
"I know what you're up to, Sylvio!" Zuzu called out, surprising Sylvio into taking a bigger bite and choking a bit. Ootomo quickly handed him a water bottle, which he immediately drank.
After Sylvio calmed down a bit, he turned to Zuzu, who had just entered the warehouse. "Can you at least let me eat?" he retorted, "What are you doing here, anyway?"
"I don't think I need to explain myself," Zuzu responded before pointing at Sylvio, "Especially to a slob like you..."
Sylvio took notice of the crumbs on his mouth before taking a napkin to wipe it off. Afterwards, he faced Zuzu again. "Well, I certainly don't know why you're having a-"
"Duel me right now!" Zuzu cut Sylvio off, to the latter's annoyance.
"As I said, what are you-"
"Are you afraid of losing!?" Zuzu once again interrupted, making Sylvio's eye twitch.
"As if. I'm one of the fir-"
"All you are is a chicken!" Zuzu interjected, and by now Sylvio had enough.
"WILL YOU LET ME FINISH!?" he snapped at Zuzu, "And for that matter, I am not a chicken!"
"I'm almost inclined to believe: calling you that would be an insult to chickens!" Zuzu retorted, "You're nothing more than a second-rate Duelist."
"Take that back!" Sylvio yelled, taking offense.
"Then prove it!" Zuzu said, bringing out his Duel Disk, "Duel me right now!"
Sylvio's eye continued to twitch from Zuzu's earlier insults. "If you want a duel, then you got one!" he called out, turning to his lackeys, "Close the door!"
The lackeys immediately rushed over to the open door and closed it up, blocking Zuzu's escape. Sylvio smirked at that, but Zuzu merely narrowed her eyes.
"Now who's the chicken?" Sylvio taunted, though it seems to have no effect.
"Last I've check, it's still you," Zuzu retorted, "I've seen your duel with Yuya and my sister! I know your skills isn't anything too special."
The statement peaked everyone else's interests. "Hold on... Your sister? Are you talking about that ice witch!?" Kakimoto questioned before gaining a smirk, "Well, isn't that convenient. I'm sure if we keep you here, then that little witch will come right into our grasps."
"A great idea, Kakimoto," Sylvio praised one of his lackeys, "And if Rin comes here, then Yuya would no doubt be right behind her."
Zuzu glared in response. "Not gonna happen. I'll be beating you right here, right now!" she challenged.
Sylvio chuckled at that. "We shall see..."
The two Duelists prepared to duel. But before they could...
"AHHHHH!"
The two heard screaming and saw Sylvio's lackeys sprawled onto the ground. The door had be forced opened, revealing the masked teen from atop the warehouse.
"Hope I'm not interrupting anything..." he said.
Zuzu was surprised by this turn of events. "W-who are you...?" she questioned, but the masked man didn't seemed to hear her. He appears to be too focused on Sylvio, or more specifically, the badge on his collar. By then, the lackeys all got up and went to Sylvio's side.
"What are you? Her knight in shining armor?" Sylvio questioned, losing his patience, "In case you didn't know, we were about to duel!"
"That's right... We were...!" the masked man responded by opening up his cloak and revealing a Duel Disk of his own. Much to everyone's surprise, however, the masked man's was a different model from the ones produced by the Leo Corporation.
"What's with that Duel Disk...?" Sylvio questioned, "I'm guessing you're not from around here. Aren't you?"
The question, however, went unanswered. Zuzu then grabbed the masked man's shoulder.
"Look, I don't know what's going on or what you're up to, but this is my duel," she informed, "I don't need anyone butting in."
The masked man then turned toward Zuzu and appears to be getting a good look at her. Zuzu was starting to get a bit creeped out by this, until...
"You have the same face as her..." the masked man suddenly said, "But... you aren't her..."
Zuzu blinked. "'Her'? What do you mean by that...?" she questioned.
"This is something I have to do," the masked man informed, "Step back."
Zuzu didn't know what to make of this. Sylvio, however, narrowed his eyes.
"I don't know what the deal with you is, but like I said, we were just about to start our duel," he informed the masked man, "Unless you want to step in so I can take you both on?"
The lackeys widen their eyes at that proposal. "Um, Sylvio? You sure that's such a good idea?" Yamabe asked, "Because you teaming up with Kakimoto last time didn't worked out too well against Yuya and Rin..."
Kakimoto took offense to that statement. "And what's that supposed to mean!?" he retorted.
Zuzu was just about to accept Sylvio's proposal, but the masked man held his arm out, blocking Zuzu off. "I'll take you on myself..." he said, "I don't need other people getting involved in my mission..."
Zuzu blinked at that. "'Mission'...? What are you talking about...?" she questioned, getting more and more perplexed by the masked man.
Her question, however, remained unanswered as the masked man continues to stare down on Sylvio.
"Fine then. If you want to be the lone wolf, then be my guest," Sylvio spoke, "Just know that once I win, I'll be taking off that mask and seeing who you are."
The masked man, once again, didn't speak. Sylvio was getting increasingly annoyed by the constant silence treatment.
"Hmph, very well..." he said, preparing his Duel Disk, "I guess we'll get things underway..."
"LET'S DUEL!"
Masked Man LP: 4000/Hand 5
Sylvio LP: 4000/Hand 5
"I'll be going first," the masked man decided.
"Very well," Sylvio accepted, "Just make sure your first move counts."
The masked man took the time to check his hand before making his move.
"I'll set all five cards face down," he announced, setting his entire hand on his Duel Disk, much to the surprise of everyone, "That's all."
Everyone stared at the masked Duelist in silence until it was broken by Sylvio's laughter.
"Bhahahahaha!" he laughed very hard, "THAT'S your first move!? With how you've been acting like this 'cool guy', I'd have expected you to, I dunno, summon your ace right on your first turn. Not just set all your cards face down!"
As Sylvio and his lackeys continued to laugh, Zuzu thought differently. She knew that a face down Spell or Trap Card could mean trouble if the opponent accidently sets them off. So seeing five face down cards out there, Zuzu couldn't help but think it resembles a minefield.
"Ashamed that you didn't draw a monster for your opening hand?" Sylvio continued, "Maybe that's why you wear a mask; to hide any potential embarrassment."
Despite the laughter from Sylvio and his lackeys, the masked man appears to be unaffected, still giving a silent treatment.
At the You Show Duel School, Allie has just arrived in a panic, much to the surprise of everyone there.
"Yuya! Rin!" Allie called out before tripping. Yuya hastily stopped Allie's fall as the tossed grocery bags flew onto Frederick's arms.
"Allie? What happened?" Yuya questioned before noticing that she was alone, "And where's Zuzu?"
"It's terrible!" Allie answered, "Zuzu and I heard that Sylvio was planning something bad! She went in to stop him while I went back to let you know!"
"Zuzu's facing Sylvio by herself!?" Rin replied, shocked to hear that her adoptive sister went alone.
Yuya was surprised as well, but he soon gave a determined face. "We have to go!" he said, turning to Rin, "Rin, you coming?"
"Yeah!" she answered with her own determined nod, "I'm not letting Sylvio hurt my sister again!"
With that, Yuya and Rin rushed out of the school, leaving a worried Allie as well as Sora and Frederick, who were both sad to see all the ice cream had melted.
Back at the warehouse, Sylvio had just calmed down from his laughing fit, though he still had a smirk. "If that's truly the best you got, then how about I show you a real turn?" he said as he drew a card, "My turn!"
Looking at his hand, Sylvio nodded before facing the masked Duelist. "Those cards you set will be your undoing," he warned, "Because you have at least two face down cards, I'm allowed to Special Summon Escher the Frost Vassal!"
Sylvio has summoned what appears to be an armored monk sitting cross-legged.
Escher the Frost Vassal/Level 4/ATK 800/DEF 1000
"But he won't be sticking around for long," Sylvio continued, "I'll be tributing him to bring out Mobius the Frost Monarch!"
Escher dispersed into stars before being replaced by a large, armored warrior.
Mobius the Frost Monarch/Level 6/ATK 2400/DEF 1000
"And because Mobius was Tribute Summoned, he's able to destroy two of those cards," Sylvio explained, "Freeze those cards away!"
Mobius did just that, unleashing a snowstorm that froze two of the masked man's face downs before they shattered.
"I'm not done yet. I also activate the Spell Card, Tribute Carnival!" Sylvio said, activating a Spell Card, "Since I Tribute Summoned this turn, I'm allowed to perform another Tribute Summon. So say good-bye to Mobius the Frost Monarch and say hello to Mobius the Mega Monarch!"
Mobius dissolved into stars and in his place was an even more imposing version of Mobius, this time having carved icicles from his shoulders and arms.
Mobius the Mega Monarch/Level 8/ATK 2800/DEF 1000
Zuzu was surprised to see Sylvio bring out a Level 8 monster so easily, but before she could address it, Sylvio beat her to it.
"Normally I'm only allowed to summon this monster with two Tributes," he said, "But I'm allowed to use only one tribute if the tributed monster was also Tribute Summoned."
He then extended his arm forward. "Not only that, but like his previous incarnation, this Mobius can destroy your cards. Up to three, in fact!" he continued, "Oh, and don't bother activating them in response; since Mobius here was Tribute Summoned by tributing a Water monster, they're disabled."
Mobius then unleashed an even bigger snowstorm that destroyed the masked man's remaining three face down cards. The snowstorm continued as the masked man and Zuzu were covered by the icy winds, the latter covering herself in response. The snowstorm ended, leaving Zuzu concerned by what happened.
'That snowstorm... I could actually feel it?' she thought in concern, 'But there's no Action Field... What's going on...?'
"With this, victory is assured," Sylvio commented, "You have nothing on your field and nothing in your hand. Seems your gallant display was for nothing. Maybe you should have just let Zuzu handle this."
Zuzu turned toward the masked man in concern. "I'd hate to agree with Sylvio, but he's kinda right..." she reluctantly agreed, "Maybe you should just let me handle this..."
The masked man merely gazed at Zuzu in response. Zuzu thought she saw a look behind his goggles and couldn't help but be silenced.
"Mobius, show him what a fool he was," Sylvio commanded, "Sleet Spike Smash!"
Mobius poised his shoulders and arms, pointing the ice toward the masked man. Before Mobius could attack, the masked man retaliated.
"I activate three of my traps from my Graveyard," he said, surprising everyone.
"What!? What's with cards being activated from the Graveyard lately!?" Sylvio commented in shock.
"Because you tried to attack me directly, I'm allowed to summon my traps, The Phantom Knights of Dark Gauntlets and 2 Phantom Knights of Shadow Veils, as monsters in Defense Mode," the masked man explained, "The only other condition is that Dark Gauntlets could only be activated if I also control no cards. Not only that, but they'll be banished if they leave the field."
Three dark portals opened up, revealing two spectral horsemen with blue fire and what appears to be a reanimated suit of armor.
The Phantom Knights of Shadow Veil x2/Level 4/ATK 0/DEF 300
The Phantom Knights of Dark Gauntlets/Level 4/ATK 300/DEF 600
"Dark Gauntlets also gains 300 Defense for each Phantom Knights Spell or Trap cards in my Graveyard," the masked man continued, "There's two, so that makes 600."
The Phantom Knights of Dark Gauntlets/DEF 600 - 1200
The tactic earned an irritated look from Sylvio. "So you managed to summon your monsters to protect yourself, huh?" he commented, "Then I'll just have to blast them away! Mobius, continue your assault on one of the Shadow Veils!"
Mobius continued his attack, launching icicles spears from his shoulders and arms to skewer one of the Shadow Veils. The masked man isn't concerned, however.
"I'll end it here with a face down," Sylvio said afterwards, setting a card on his Duel Disk, "Go ahead. Make your move."
Masked Man LP: 4000/Hand: 0
Sylvio LP: 4000/Hand: 1
The masked man responded by drawing a card. He then stared at Sylvio before making a comment.
"I would have thought you'd have put up more of a fight..." he said, surprising everyone, "But I don't feel any sharpness in your blade at all..."
"And what's that supposed to mean?" Sylvio responded in annoyance, "Who says my skills aren't any good?"
"Someone who understands Dueling more than you ever will..." the masked man answered, more passionately than before, "Someone who duels for more than just themselves."
With that, he raised his hand up high. "I now use the Level 4 Phantom Knights of Dark Gauntlets and Phantom Knights of Shadow Veil to build the Overlay Network!"
Much to the surprise of everyone, a galaxy portal appeared in front of the masked man. His sole two monsters turned into purple energy and flew into the portal, resulting in an explosion.
"Formed from pitch-black darkness to fight those foolish enough to oppose it with its treacherous fangs!" the masked man chanted, "I Xyz Summon Dark Rebellion Xyz Dragon!"
From the portal's explosion emerged a menacing purple dragon with black and silver armor, single tusk extending from its chin, and mechanical wings. Orbiting around the dragon were two purple orbs.
Dark Rebellion Xyz Dragon/Rank 4/ATK 2500/DEF 2000/OVU 2
Everyone else tensed from seeing the dragon appear. "W-what the hell is that!?" Sylvio cried out.
"He's a bit like me," the masked man answered, "Cloaked in shadows and relentless in his objective. The only difference is that his objective is to destroy."
Sylvio tensed even more from hearing that before calming himself down. "D-destroy? And how it's meant to destroy anything?" he questioned, "Its Attack isn't enough to take on Mobius."
"There's more to Dueling than just the monsters' Attack, and that's especially true for Xyz Monsters," the masked man replied, "Their true strength do not lie in their Attack; they lie in their Overlay Units."
He gestured toward the orbs orbiting around Dark Rebellion. "By detaching an Overlay Unit, Dark Rebellion Xyz Dragon can halve the Attack of a Level 5 or higher monster," he continued, "And increase his own Attack by that same amount!"
As the masked man finished, one of the orbs went into the wings of Dark Rebellion. They soon opened up, crackling with dark electricity. Sylvio was surprised to hear that as the masked man gave the order.
Dark Rebellion Xyz Dragon/OVU 2 - 1
"Go, Dark Rebellion! Treason Discharge!"
The electricity rushed from the dragon's wings onto Mobius, constricting him and draining him of his strength. The energy siphoned then flowed back to Dark Rebellion, empowering itself.
Mobius the Mega Monarch/ATK 2800 - 1400
Dark Rebellion Xyz Dragon/ATK 2500 - 3900
However, the masked man wasn't finished. "There's more... This effect is not limited to once per turn," he revealed, horrifying everyone as the other Overlay Unit went into Dark Rebellion's wings. More electricity emerged from the wings and constricting Mobius until he was all-but a husk.
Mobius the Mega Monarch/ATK 1400 - 700
Dark Rebellion Xyz Dragon/ATK 3900 - 4600/OVU 1 - 0
"Now, Dark Rebellion Xyz Dragon! Strike Mobius down!" the masked Duelist commanded, "Mauling Mandible Charge!"
With its wings glowing with energy, Dark Rebellion flew forward toward Mobius, its tusk scraping the ground. It soon stabbed right through Mobius' chest, obliterating it and shaking the warehouse. Sylvio was knocked back from the ensuring shockwave as debris flew everywhere.
Sylvio LP: 4000 - 100
The others tried to cover themselves from the destruction. Even Zuzu tried to shield herself, only for the masked man to cover her, his goggles cracked by one of the debris. Soon, the attack ended, but the entire warehouse was left in ruin. Everyone couldn't believe what just happened.
"W-what's going on!?" Kakimoto asked in panic, "W-was that attack real!? We shouldn't be in an Action Duel! S-so... why...!?"
Despite the devastation around, the masked man calmly walked forward, keeping his gaze on Sylvio as the latter slowly sat up.
"Now that I have your attention, I'm going to ask you a question, and you'll answer truthfully," the masked man demanded, pulling out a badge, "You are familiar with this badge, right?"
Despite being in pain, Sylvio tried to keep his own gaze on the masked man. "Y-yeah... So what?" he responded.
"Tell me. What do you know about Duel Academy?" the masked man questioned.
"I don't know what you're talking about..." Sylvio responded with a shrug.
"I said answer truthfully!" the masked man retorted, only getting a glare from Sylvio in response.
"I am telling the truth!" he yelled, earning a jolt of pain from his injuries, "Everyone in the Leo Institute has a badge like that. And as for Duel Academy, I've never heard of it in my life. What exactly is that!?"
The masked man stared at Sylvio for a bit before turning away. "Seems you are telling the truth..." he simply said, "I have no more business with you..."
With that, the masked man began walking away. Zuzu promptly got out of his way, still a bit fearful of what this guy was capable of. But, before he could leave the warehouse...
"Hold it! You can't leave in the middle of a duel!" Sylvio called out, trying to stand back up in spite of the pain, before activating his face down, "I won't allow it! I activate the Trap Card, Ice Rage! Since you destroyed an Aqua-type monster, I can do the same to the one that did it, and you'll take damage equal to their Attack!"
Sylvio then let out a pained laugh. "You'll be taking 4700 damage, so that means I win!"
Despite the trap, the masked man was not fazed. "I activate the effect of The Phantom Knights of Tomb Shield in my Graveyard," he said without turning around, "By banishing it, one Trap you control is negated."
With that, Sylvio's trap was destroyed. He was surprised by this.
"I told you I have no more business with you..." the masked man said, finally turning to face Sylvio, "However, since you wanted this duel to end, I'll end it. I activate my last card sent to the Graveyard by your monsters: Phantom Knights' Rage."
With that, Dark Rebellion was covered by a menacing aura, causing Sylvio to fear what'll happen next.
"By banishing it and cutting the Attack of one monster I control in half, that monster can attack again," the masked man explained, horrifying everyone in the warehouse.
Dark Rebellion Xyz Dragon/ATK 4600 - 2300
Hearing that caused Sylvio to start panicking. "W-wait! Hold on! Please, have mercy!" he pleaded, but to no avail.
"You brought this upon yourself. Now you'll experience the rage and sorrow of the battlefield," the masked man responded coldly, "Dark Rebellion Xyz Dragon... Mauling Mandible Charge."
With the command, Dark Rebellion prepared to strike as Sylvio panicked at the ensuring strike. The dragon jabbed its tusk right through Sylvio's jacket, pinning him against the wall. Sylvio's eyes widen at the near-death experience.
Sylvio LP: 100 - 0
WINNER: MASKED MAN!
Dark Rebellion soon disappeared, yet the destruction still remained. It was a surprise that the warehouse was still standing. Sylvio fearfully gazed at the masked Duelist, still shaking from the last attack.
"W-w... W-who a-are y-you...!?" he barely let out.
The masked man walked toward Sylvio, his hand resting on his mask. "If you must know..." was all he said as he removed his mask and goggles. His face was revealed to everyone, and they couldn't believe what they saw...
His face was exactly like Yuya's!
"Y-Yuya...!?" was all Sylvio could say before he fainted, falling to the ground. His lackeys hastily hoisted him up and proceeded to leave the warehouse, wanting to get as far away from the teen as possible. The only ones to remain were the teen and Zuzu, the latter of which were too shocked to move.
"Y-Yuya...?" Zuzu tried to speak, "W-what's going on...?"
Before she could say anymore, her bracelet began shining, nearly blinding Zuzu. Once the light disappeared, Zuzu looked around, but saw that the teen was gone.
"W-what...?" was all she said before hearing voices from outside the warehouse. Just then, both Yuya and Rin entered, and were shocked to see the damage.
"W-whoa! What happened here!?" Rin questioned, "It looks like a warzone!"
Seeing all the devastation, Yuya couldn't help but rush over to Zuzu. "Zuzu, are you alright!?" he asked in worry, "Allie told us that you were dealing with Sylvio alone. We came to make sure you were alright."
He then gazed around the warehouse. "What exactly happened...?"
Zuzu stared at Yuya for a bit before answering. "I-I'm fine, but..." she started, pausing for a bit, "Yuya, weren't you just here...? Weren't you the one that was dueling Sylvio just then...?
This surprised Yuya and Rin. "Huh!? Me!?" the former cried out, "What are you talking about?"
The two then gazed at each other before turning back to Zuzu. "Zuzu, Yuya couldn't have been here," Rin informed her adoptive sister, "He's been with me this entire time."
This surprised Zuzu. "He was!?" she responded, "But then... who was that guy? And why does he have the same face as Yuya...?"
Now it was Yuya's and Rin's turn to be surprised. "Wait, this guy had the same face as Yuya!?" the latter questioned.
"Yea... but why...?" was all Zuzu said as she and Yuya wondered what was going on. Rin was also in thought, but for a different reason.
'The same face as Yuya...? Could it be...?' Rin thought to herself before shaking her head and gazing around the warehouse, 'No, it couldn't be Yugo. There's no way he's even capable of something like this...
'So then, what's going on here...?'
In another part of Paradise City, the formerly masked man has just arrived in an alleyway. He pulled out his Duel Disk in hopes of contacting someone. Just then...
*Yuto? What is it?* a female voice came out of the Duel Disk, *Is something wrong?*
"Nothing to really worry about, Lulu," the teen, now named Yuto, responded, "I found someone that had ties to that building, but he had no information regarding Duel Academy..."
*Alright. Keep at it, and hopefully we can find some answers,* the caller, named Lulu, reassured, *... You overdid it, didn't you.*
Yuto flinched from that. *Yuto, I know we have no choice but to use the same technology as our enemy, but that doesn't mean we should use it whenever we want,* Lulu continued, *Most of these people have no ties to Duel Academy. We shouldn't be attacking them like that. Plus, we have to keep a low profile. We can't risk being detected.*
"I know, Lulu... It's just..." Yuto started before the caller let out a sigh.
*Yuto, I know that it's hard,* Lulu spoke, *I understand that we live in a world where we have to hold nothing back... Even if it means hurting others... But I just don't want you and Shay to be hurting anyone, alright...?*
"I know, Lulu..." Yuto responded softly, "I'm sorry..."
Silence, until... *I know you are, Yuto...* Lulu said, *Just please don't let it happen again...*
"Got it," Yuto accepted. He debated on telling Lulu about the girl he encountered, but decided against it.
*Alright. We'll meet back tomorrow,* Lulu informed, *I'll let Shay know. Until then, see if you can find more info.*
"On it," Yuto replied before hanging up. He faced the sky, wondering about that girl from earlier, in particular, her face.
'Who was she?' he wondered, 'And why does she have Lulu's face?'
Phantom Knight's Rage (Trap)
Continuous Trap
Target one "The Phantom Knights" monster you control; as long as this card is face-up, that monster cannot be destroyed by battle, and you take no damage from battles involving that monster. During your turn, by banishing this card from the Graveyard, you can target 1 monster you control; halve the ATK of that monster, then it can attack twice per Battle Phase.
And that's it. Again, sorry if the duel wasn't up to snuff. I didn't want to just copy and paste the canon duel, so I tried my best to change it even just a little, even if it meant Sylvio would have a near-death experience from a dragon rather than a spear. But considering that duels involving the 'rebels' have real damage during the first season, it's practically the same thing. Either way, Sylvio has a one-way ticket to the hospital.
Honestly, that OC Trap Card was kinda a spur of the moment because I didn't want to just reuse the Phantom Knights' Spear from canon. So, sorry about that...
Oh, and there's three of the 'rebels' instead of two. I did mentioned in the first part that Lulu would also be spared of Yuri's kidnapping. Assuming my plans go through, we'll be seeing more of her later on.
Since next up is probably the start of the You Show vs. Leo Institute duels, I probably won't be posting the next part for a while as I figure out the matchups for the next three duels. On one hand, Zuzu's and Gong's canon duels was what paved way for them to get stronger and incorporate Extra Deck summons, but on the other hand, I don't want to leave out Rin since she's a You Show student as well. If you all have any suggestions on what I should do regarding the matchups, I'm willing to listen.
In any case, I guess I'll see you in the next part... Hopefully I get the next part out...
