Merton
Finally, someone who knew him. I had started to reckon we would never find someone who did or that we had been looking at the wrong school.
"This girl. This witch called Phoebe sent us. She told us Scott could help me, " Tommy told the boy.
"Wait, so you're the werewolf from the past that Phoebe had a vision about?" Queried the boy.
"Yep, that's me, " Tommy responded.
"Great, " he started then added, "she found you, " with a smile but that smile vanished quick and questioned, "wait where is she? Is she still stuck in the past with that demon?" He looked around us with wide eyes.
"Yeah, she said she didn't have the power to transport all three of us here, " Tommy answered calmly to try and ease the other boy's concern for who must be his friend.
"Then why did she send him." His voice was harsh as he pointed towards me. "She could have just come with you. No, offence, but she said she was just bringing a werewolf, so I don't understand why she sent too, " he added.
"None was taken, " I replied.
"I guess it's because he's my friend and that I wouldn't leave him behind with the demon, " Tommy said.
"Fair enough, but I hope she is fine. She is pretty strong, but she's alone, " the boy told us.
"Now, I'm worried. We shouldn't have left, " Tommy declared.
"We had no choice. There was nothing we could do, " I told him.
"I suppose you're right. I'm sure she will be ok, right? I mean she said she would follow us here, " Tommy said.
"Yeah, I'm sure, " I reassured.
"Ok, well I better go take you to meet Scott," said the boy.
"Thanks, " Tommy said.
"No problem, you better just hope Phoebe is alright, " the boy said and started walking so we followed after him.
"I'm Stiles by the way, " he said.
"It's nice to meet you, Stiles," both Tommy and I told him.
"I would tell you my name but I guess you already know it," added Tommy.
" Tommy Dawkins right?" Stiles wondered.
"Right," he responded.
"I'm Merton J Dingle," I declared if he cared to know it.
He hadn't asked me and I wasn't sure he liked me since I had come along instead of his friend or girlfriend. It could be either I realised but I didn't know. I knew nothing about either him or Phoebe.
He turned to me when I spoke out and spoke. " Sorry, if I came off rude earlier, but I am just worried about Phoebe she is a friend but it's nice to meet you too, " he told me to my relief. At least he didn't hate me.
"Likewise," I agreed to the latter.
"Merton?" He asked me.
I nodded as I replied, "yeah," I replied and then he nodded too. "Are you a werewolf too," I inquired out of curiosity.
"No," Stiles replied.
"So you're like Scott's sidekick," I pointed out.
"I'm not his sidekick," he snapped. " I'm his friend, but in a way I guess I am. I help him out and stuff as the best as can, being just an ordinary person and all," he finished in a quieter tone.
"I'm kinda like Tommy's sidekick too, I guess," I revealed.
"Not much of a sidekick you always hide on the sidelines when things get too dangerous," Tommy said.
"I help you when needed. I help you with my vast knowledge of the supernatural. You wouldn't even know the enemies weakness without me," I responded a little hurt that my boyfriend would say such a thing. It was true but hurt nevertheless.
"I'm just messing," he laughed. "I'm grateful for your help. I know you do your best to help," he reassured me.
"I do. I'm just not good when it comes to the violent side of dealing with the supernatural," I explained.
"And that's fine you're still a vital part of it," he stated.
Stiles continued to lead the way until we came to a vet. I looked at him as Tommy asked what I was thinking, "He's at the vet's?" Well, not exactly that but something similar.
"He works here. He volunteers," Stiles explained.
"Oh, that makes sense. He wouldn't be a patient," he said.
"Of course he wouldn't be, Tommy," I sighed. I loved him dearly, and he was brilliant but sometimes he could act a bit stupid.
Stiles pushed open the doors to the vets, so we followed him inside. There was a boy with dark hair, helping a bold man with brown skin.
"Stiles what are you doing here? You know I'm working," The boy asked.
"Do you know that person, Phoebe told you about who can help us– you with that thing well this is him," Stiles explained.
"Oh," the boy replied and then turned to his boss. "Do you mind if I–? It's kinda urgent."
"No, go ahead," the man offered.
"Thank you."
We all stepped outside before we began to talk. "So you're Tommy? It's great to meet you," Scott said.
"Thanks, you too," Tommy replied.
Scott turned to me and asked, "Are you part of his pack?"
"Ah, no he's just my friend," Tommy replied instead.
"Oh, well it's nice to meet you too," he greeted me.
"I'm Merton J. Dingle his sidekick actually," I answered remembering my conversation with Stiles earlier.
"Martin?" He wondered.
Why did everyone think I was called Martin? Was it my accent? I was glad his friend had gotten it right.
"Merton," I corrected.
"Right." After being introduced he began to discuss the plan.
"Ok, so I'm working until 7 and then we can discuss everything," he told us.
"Do you want me to take them to mine? My dad's working a late shift tonight so the house will be empty," his best friend suggested.
"Sure good idea. I'll come straight to yours after I finish," he agreed.
"Great, see you later," Stiles said and headed off so Tommy and I gave our goodbyes. Then hurried after him when Scott turned to head back into work.
