PREVIOUSLY...
The roof blew open, something crashed through. Dust was everywhere, Suki backed off with an annoyed expression and Elsa quickly took the time to get ready.
The dust cleared and there he stood. Red hair gently flapping in the wind. His white coat, slightly dusty from crashing through the roof and his hand rested on an intricately designed sword. The handle in the design of the dragon.
Elsa licked her lips in anticipation.
Reinhard, the Sword Saint, had arrived.
PRESENT...
Reinhard looked around the room, his eyes quickly scanning the room. Emilia stood at the back, tiredly. Rom lying against the wall, staring cautiously at the red headed swordsman before quickly turning his attention to the Bowel Hunter. Suki stood at the front, gently massaging his knuckles.
He stared at Suki then at Elsa. He chuckled as he ran his hand through his hair.
"Two very dangerous people in the same room? It's a wonder one isn't dead yet."
Elsa stepped forward, her eyes glinting with malice. She licked her lips as she held her kukris limply.
"Oh my! It seems that the Sword Saint has come! Are you here to kill me perhaps?"
He calmly turned to her, his eyes quickly scanning her.
"Black hair, black clothes, and a blade unique to the Northern provinces.."
He stared at her, his eyes hardening, but his expression remaining positive.
"You are Elsa Grienhart, The Bowel Hunter, aren't you?"
Felt inched back at hearing the name. Her expression shifting to one of horror.
"What kind of evil nickname is that?"
Reinhard continued talking, his gaze unwavering.
"It was derived from her unique killing style."
Felt inched backwards instinctively.
"Her name is known even in the Capital, as that of a dangerous person."
She grinned widely as she circled him. Her footsteps making tiny clink sounds.
"Reinhard, Yes! The knight of knights, you were born from a line of master swordsmen, yes?"
Said knight smiled innocently as the woman began to laugh.
"How remarkable! Having all of my opponents to be so much fun!"
Suki sighed as he turned to the crouching woman, his expression was that of a bored one. He quickly appeared beside Reinhard.
"Listen, there's a lot of questions I wanna ask you, so I strongly suggest you surrender. That would make it a lot easier for you."
Elsa laughed wildly as if he had just told a good joke. Her grip tightened on her kukris, Felt inched backwards, Rom's grip on his club tightened as well.
"You expect a starving predator to ignore such choice, juicy prey? Now why would that be?"
Suki's mouth stretched into a wide smile.
"Well, that's because—"
He disappeared from her line of sight. She quickly looked around, her eyes flashing with panic.
"You're too slow, Bowel Hunter."
Pain shot up in her arm, something flew across the room. Was it a sword? Some stray plank that fell. From the ceiling? Her eyes widened as she recognized it.
It was her arm.
She quickly leapt backwards, away from the calm duo. Suki once again beside Reinhard. He didn't seem to be happy nor sad, all he had was a dead serious expression. She scowled as she picked up her arm.
"P-perhaps I have underestimated this group, I did not expect you of all people would be here."
She straightened up, her eyes once again gaining a dangerous glint.
"Soon, I will disembowel everyone in this room, even you. So, until then.."
Her body tensed, Suki got ready to dash forward. She licked her lips.
"Take care of your bowels."
She threw her kukri, which glowed briefly as it sank into the building's structure. In short moments, loud cracking could be heard from all around. Suki dashed towards the Bowel Hunter right as she disappeared in the dust. He scowled.
There was no sign of the Bowel Hunter anywhere, he scowled before turning to Reinhard. He chuckled at Suki's expression.
'Damn, I really liked this house too.'
The roof fell on the small group.
Rom pushed the heavy debris of the collapsed trading house off of them. Felt and Emilia had a few scratches, but they were otherwise fine. Suki was covered head to toe in dust. Reinhard's clothes were otherwise unharmed. The man on the other hand was chuckling at Suki's misfortune.
He stood up and dusted himself off, glaring at the redhead.
"Not funny."
He huffed as he walked towards the silver haired girl. She turned to him nervously.
"I take it, your name isn't Satella?"
She grinned nervously before shaking her head. Suki laughed light-heartedly.
"How'd you guess?"
Suki grinned before shrugging.
"Well, I highly doubt your parent/s would name you after—"
He stopped himself before gulping and speaking again.
"Such an influential person."
Satella chuckled before sighing.
"I suppose you're right,"
She cleared her throat and smiled politely as she extended her arm.
"My name is Emilia. It's a pleasure to meet you."
Suki grinned satisfied before taking her hand and kissing it.
"The pleasure is all mine. Miss Emilia."
(Lost in translation)..blush..(garbled noises)
Reinhard coughed loudly catching everyone's attention. Suki chuckled before turning around towards the broken entrance of the house.
"Well then, I'll be outside. Call me if ye need me."
HE quickly exited the ruined house leaving the four to themselves. Reinhard sighed at Suki's antics. Emilia turned to him with a curious expression.
"Reinhard, did you perhaps know Suki before?"
He stared upwards thoughtfully then he turned back to her.
"Well, the first time I ever met Suki was, I had received word that a pack of dangerous mabeasts had somehow entered this village near the Capital. I was determined to find out how this came to be, but when I got there. All that was left was corpses and a man in a suit."
Emilia's breath hitched as she motioned for Reinhard to continue.
"We got to know more about each other in his small hut. He told me his name was Suki and when I asked him what he was doing there, he just told me, he was a wanderer and that he was searching for something."
Emilia frowned as she stared at him.
"What was he searching for?"
Reinhard shrugged cluelessly.
"I asked him about it, but he just stared off into the distance and refused to answer me. Since then, I never saw him again until today."
Emilia chuckled as she stared at the doorway where Suki had exited.
"For a wanderer, he is quite capable."
Reinhard chuckled as he leaned against the wall.
"I suppose he is."
Emilia turned to stare at the albino giant interacting with the blonde thief. She laughed happily, they seemed to joking about something. Emilia turned back to Reinhard.
"So, what's going to happen to the old man and the little girl?"
Reinhard looked up thoughtfully before sighing.
"Officially, I can't overlook what they've done, but…"
Reinhard shrugged helplessly.
"Unfortunately, I'm off-duty today."
She laughed lightly as Reinhard laughed as well,
"You're a bad knight."
He gave her an awkward smile as she headed over to the two. She turned to Felt.
"Is this old man your family?"
Old Man Rom grinned sharply.
"Damn right I am!"
Felt glanced at him with a chuckle then she sighed as she stared off listlessly.
"Something like that, he's the only one I have."
Felt looked up thoughtfully then she grinned widely.
"So, I guess you could call him my grandpa!"
Old Man Rom did not take her comment very well.
"Grandpa?! Who the hell do you think you're talking about?! Cheeky Brat!"
Felt chuckled lightly as Rom had gotten up and had began to chase her. Emilia smiled warmly at their display of familial love. Rom got bonked by rude red haired swordsman. She walked back to the silver haired elf.
"Well, I also have only one family member, but he's always asleep at the most important times, although when he's awake I'd never tell him that."
Felt stared at her apologetically as she stood in front of her.
"I thought you'd be a lot harsher to me for stealing your shiny thing and I was thinking of keeping it, but you saved my life and I can't let a debt go unpaid, so here's your thing and I'm truly sorry for stealing it."
She reached out of her pocket and brought it out. It glowed dimly in the dark ruins. Reinhard's eyes widened.
"Listen, if it's important, keep it hidden so it can't be stolen ever again—"
Her hand was immediately seized by Reinhard. He tightly gripped her wrist. She winced in pain. Emilia stared at Reinhard in shock.
"Reinhard?"
Felt struggled under the swordsman's grip, but he held fast. He looked as if he had seen a ghost.
"You're hurting me! Let go!"
"How can this be?! What's your name?"
She stared at him confused.
"Wha—? It's Felt. Why?"
He yanked her closer, Felt grit her teeth in pain.
"And your family name? How old are you?"
Felt glared at the swordsman fiercely.
"I don't have such a fancy thing like a last name and I'm about fifteen, I think, I don't know my birthday. Look just let me go!"
Reinhard turned to Emilia apologetically.
"Lady Emilia, I am afraid I cannot keep my promise to you, I shall be taking this girl with me."
Emilia stared at him, confused.
"May I ask why? If it's about the insignia then—"
Reinhard turned to the teen struggling under his grip.
"I admit that is no small crime, but compared to the gravity of overlooking the crime unfolding before me, that is trivial."
He forcefully made her stand. She shakily did so, whilst glaring at him.
"I need you to come with me, I'm sorry but I cannot allow you to refuse."
She attempted to get away from him. Old Man Rom stepped forward his grip on the club tightening.
"Hey! Just because you saved us doesn't mean—"
Reinhard raised his hand towards him. The old man crumpled to the ground like a pile of bricks. Felt's eyes widened in shock she turned back to Reinhard.
"What did you—"
He did the same and she slowly fell to the ground. Emilia stared at him disapprovingly.
"That wasn't very courtly."
He picked her and laid her in his arms.
"I was careful not to use too much. I hope you understand."
He placed the insignia in Emilia's hands.
"Hey, I just popped in to see what you guys were—"
Suki stared at Reinhard who was holding the unconscious body of Felt then at the fallen albino giant. He stared at the two with a dead expression.
"Yeah, forget it, I'll just wait outside."
Reinhard turned to Emilia with a serious expression.
"Miss Emilia, please take care of Suki as he seems to be intent on staying with you for now. He may not look like it, but he has lost something and that thing may be the very key to his undoing."
Emilia tilted her head with a confused expression.
"What do you mean by that?"
Suki once again popped through the doorway.
"Yeah, a carriage just pulled out so I think that's our cue to leave."
Emilia nodded at Suki then turned back to Reinhard.
"Take care, Reinhard."
He nodded respectfully.
"You too, Miss Emilia."
He stared at her as Suki led her to the carriage then the carriage departed off into the night. He stared at the sleeping teen in his arms then sighed.
Emilia stood in front of the giant mansion with Suki who was staring at the mansion in amazement.
"Emilia! You didn't tell me you lived in a mansion!"
Emilia smiled sheepishly as they neared the giant entrance.
"Well, it didn't seem very important at the time."
The door opened to reveal a man wearing quite extravagant clothing, heavy makeup, and completely blue hair. He smiled cheerfully at Emilia.
"Ah, Lady Emilia! You've returned—"
His eyes drifted over to Suki who was grinning at the man.
"Miss Emilia, why have you brought a piece of sh—"
He stopped himself.
"Miss Emilia, why have you brought him to the mansion?'
Emilia smiled calmly at him.
"Well he helped me with a certain problem in the Capital, but I'll talk about it further when we're inside."
He nodded then he turned to Suki, who was trying not to laugh, with an obviously irritated expression. He forced a smile then introduced himself.
"Greetings, I am Roswaal L. Mathers, it is my…pleasure…to meet you."
Suki grinned before stepping up and coming right in front of him.
"And I'm Suki, nice to meet ya."
Roswaal sighed tiredly, seemingly giving up. He turned to Emilia with a tired expression.
"I suppose there are a number of guest rooms he can sleep in."
He turned to Suki, whilst glaring at him.
"Is that alright with you, esteemed guest?"
Suki grinned mischievously.
"Why, yes it is, Ros-chi."
Roswaal grit his teeth in irritation then turned around with a forced smile.
"Then let us go."
"You can't do this alone. You know this."
A man in a black cloak, stood in front her. They were in a cave and he was blocking the entrance and exit. The woman had silver hair, but the rest of her features seemed to unrecognizable.
The woman smiled sadly.
"I know, but I can't bring you, knowing you could get hurt or worse. I can't always reign her in, one of these days, you'll get caught up in it. And I refuse to hurt you!"
The man frowned as he stood his ground. He glared at her fiercely.
"I won't move! I can't let you go too!"
The woman pursed her lips then she raised her hand. The man's eyes widened as he fell to the ground. His vision began to wane as she left. He reached out to her.
"P-Please don't go, I can't lose you too.."
He felt something wet on his face. It was tears.
Suki opened his eyes to an unfamiliar ceiling. He slowly got up and looked around. No one was in there.
"Huh, I wake up with no one to greet me, how sad."
He opened the door and exited the room. It led to a long hallway going opposite ways. He looked left and right. The hallways seemed to stretch endlessly.
"Long and empty halls."
He frowned as the eerie silence began go get to him.
"Too empty."
He narrowed his eyes. HE could swear he could hear something scratching the walls. He shuddered.
"Yeah, it's getting too creepy."
He reached for the first doorknob he could find and immediately entered the room.
"Maybe Ros-chi had something to do with it."
"What a profoundly, irritating man you are."
He turned as if he had seen a ghost. A seemingly young blonde girl sat in front of him. She had large golden drills in her hair. She was calmly reading something.
He grinned as he walked up to her.
"You know? A girl such as yourself shouldn't be so cold, with that cold attitude, you'll ruin your cute face! Come on, smile!"
She scoffed, not even looking up from her book.
"A derisive sneer is the only thing worth giving to you."
He smiled mischievously as he browsed the book selection.
"Are you mad that I got in here on my first try?"
Her eyes briefly flicked upwards at him.
"No, Betty simply do not know you."
He chuckled as he continued to browse the library, his hands gently touching the old books.
"Aww c'mon, Beako! Don't be like that! You know who I am!"
She snorted, but still reading.
"Betty does not recall anything about an atrocious man such as yourself."
He clutched his chest in faux pain.
"Ah! Your sharp words wound me so!"
He appeared right beside her. His face dangerously close to hers.
"Perhaps I need healing from you, dear maiden?"
She shut her book then glared at Suki.
"Betty has had enough, I suppose."
Suki floated a few feet off the floor immediately. He glared at her, his eyes taking on a fierce determination.
"If I'm going out, I'm not going out without a fight!"
He struggled to run towards her as he was floating. Beatrice was careful not to let him near the bookshelves. Suki was still going strong nonetheless.
"No! That! Is! Cheating!"
He was forced out of the Great Library along with the door shutting almost immediately. He pouted as he sat outside.
"Cheater."
He stretched as he headed back to his room.
"Nothing to do, but sleep. I guess."
A man walked swiftly up the stairs of a large house. Carefully moving quickly through the halls, passing doorways until he stopped by a certain one. He opened the door, grinning as he did so.
"Why, hello! Miss Loli!"
The blonde spirit stared up to see a man in front of her. He grinned widely. She went back to reading, deeming him as less of a threat.
"Please leave. Your face annoys me."
He chuckled before sitting down in front of her.
"I can't do that! After all, I've come all this way after hearing about the Great Library!"
Beatrice frowned as she stared at him intently before going back to reading with a huff.
"You're not him, I suppose,"
He tilted his head, with a confused expression.
"Who's him?"
Beatrice waved it off dismissively, she stared up at him with a curious expression.
"What do you even hope to find inside of the Great Library, I suppose?"
His eyes seemed to darken and his cheery demeanor turned serious as he stared at her
"A book to raise the dead."
Emilia walked out of her room, lightly stretching as she walked down the halls. The sun was high in the sky, so Suki was supposed to be awake by now. As she passed Suki's room she heard talking.
"Look dear sister! It appears the degenerate is speaking."
"Who do you think you're calling a degenerate!?"
She gently knocked on the door and stifled a giggle as she entered the room. Suki was glaring at both Rem and Ram, who were currently clinging to each other as if they were scared he would get out of the bed. She turned to Suki with slight chuckle.
"Honestly, Suki. Couldn't you wake up more peacefully?"
He turned to her before quickly pointing at the two maids angrily.
"It's their fault! Those maids are little pieces of sh—"
She glared at him. He raised his hands in surrender. Then Rem nudged Emilia.
"Listen to this, Miss Emilia. My dear sister was just violated by that vile man."
Ram nudged Emilia right after Rem.
"Listen to this, Miss Emilia. Rem was held prisoner and shamed by that man."
Suki almost exploded from the bed, glaring at the two.
"None of that ever happened!"
Emilia giggled, Suki turned to her with a grin.
"Nothing like a good laugh to start the day."
Emilia chuckled before outstretching her hand towards Suki.
"Well then, let's go outside, shall we?"
