"I say the same, but it won't be for long " Potter said as he cornered Snape into a lonely alley.
Snape pulled out his wand and pointed it directly at the neck of the young man .
"Watch what you're doing Potter , it wouldn't be to my liking to say a spell that would seriously injure you."
"Easy you greasy creep , I don't know what you did to convince the old man to have you join the order and I see to be the only one who knows where your loyalties are going ."
" Watch your words Potter to me , don't threaten me . You dont know anything about me or my situation "
"Too late Snape, I have just delivered a message to Fletcher that will be fascinating to he who must not be named or one of his followers "
" What did you do ? , TELL ME WHAT !" Snape was grabbing him by the collar of his shirt.
"Don't think I have stopped loving Lily and you will pay for having taken her from me with your blood , let me go , you filthy bat!"
James broke into a run when he saw from a distance a Bellatrix Lestrange coming towards him with dubiously good intentions.
"Severus Snape, consorting with the light? I always knew it."
"It's not what you think Bella."
"Ah no? The letter ...Mundungus Fletcher gave me something and it says otherwise , stupid! "
"I don't know what you're talking about..."
"I wish to inform you My Lord, that at the end of August there has taken place outside Ottery St. Catchpole in Devon , the marriage between what is known in the magical world as Severus Tobias Snape Prince and Lily Evans , now Lily Snape .."
"Such a fact needs to be explained in depth " Severus tried not to feign surprise . The foul Fletcher had betrayed them .
"Do you think I would be able to get together with a filthy dirty blood who teamed up with stupid Potter to make my life hell, just for some stupid feeling ? . Severus wanted to beat himself up like a house elf for the terrible words that came out of his mouth, but he hoped his fame would help him make the lie believable to Bellatrix.
"Why tell me?...why did you marry that filthy Lily Evans ...! ?"
"Because I wanted to do that very thing, don't you see...or are you so blind you don't notice. I married so I could take her away from that fool James , watch him suffer, but she's nothing but a silly little girl who deserves to be treated like a BITCH ."
"I don't believe anything you say , legilimens.."
Severus was no stupid child as Bellatrix believed and he could easily provide her with false memories of Lily being abused under his hand . At least one good thing Albus had taught him , it was popularly believed that one could not make up false memories , only hide the real ones , but thanks to very old magic and a bit of play with the pensieve , they had anticipated such a fact .
"I'm not lying to you woman!"
"So I see, for a second I thought your allegiance was with that decrepit old man."
"You need no further explanation."
"Certainly not, but this will be dealt with between the two of us, I will not take it up with our master , however...I will give you a warning. Any day next week after the meeting we have the day after tomorrow at Malfoy's house, I will tell him to come to your residence and if you have not killed the filthy dirty blood , I will kill you myself and tell my Lord everything "
If it was possible Severus could mentally curse the woman in front of him and let her be taken by a dragon he would have gladly handed her over. He would have to kill Lily. No! He was not a murderer, he had to save her.
After the Malfoy meeting:
Severus appeared in the living room of the cottage knowing he had to act fast.
"Lily ! where are you, Lily...Lily...Lily..Lily...Lily. "
"Here I am! What's up, what's up Sev!"
"Quick...pack your things, we're leaving."
"What? Why? Severus, stop! What's going on?"
"There's no time... there's no time..."
"SEVERUS!"
"Bella ... he knows. He knows I'm lying, he asked me to kill you, if I don't... he will find you and give you to the dark lord and I will die "
"Why! why does he know ?"
"Mundungus Fletcher , the liar infiltrated the order and told Bellatrix in a letter about us" He knew he would have actually loved to mention that Potter was the liar , but he needed Lily to still trust him for the plan he had just devised .
" Let's go to Albus's, he'll shelter us "
" THA IS THE PLAN , we can't go to Hogwarts , nowhere is safe ..."
"Let's go ! Wait... where are we going then ?"
"To an old friend's place."
And so they appeared in Godric's Valley
Godric's Valley :
" It's almost time, Snape "
"I know Potter."
"What are we doing here, Sev?"
"This is my plan to save you..."
"It's true that we are friends with James, but please, I want to go with you..."
"No my Lily, it can't be...I want you to live, please."
"You will stay with James...for your wellness, don't try to follow me, or look for me, ever Lily, for your safety.."
"I don't understand anything...Please Sev "
"I love you, that's what matters "
Severus walked over to James
"Where is the girl, Potter ?"
"She's inside , we'll obliviate her briefly and then...well...you know what will happen "
"Are you sure she's going to die, I'm not a murderer" Snape shouted at him.
"I'm sure , the spell that your friends death eaters ... thats killing her , she is on the verge of death Snape, now don't come out with sentimentality, look at all I'm doing for you..for Lily , actually."
" Im not friends of that bullshit of idiot people"
They entered the house and there in one of the chairs was the girl who looked really bad.
"Perfect, Merlin... forgive me."
Severus took out of his pocket a multijuice potion and added lily's hair , he hoped that by giving it to her she would turn into Lily and so he could allow the killing curse not to hit the one he really cared about. On the other hand, hours before she had thought about stupid Potter, she knew he was an auror, she knew he would protect Lily and even if it hurt she knew he loved her . That was how they made the deal to leave Lily with Potter to save her life, in return Potter would offer him a girl to be used as bait.
The girl drank and slowly transformed into Lily.
" It's time , I have to go , he'll be following me very soon "
"I need an explanation ! " Lily shouted them
" There is no time for that Lily. Potter will tell you everything in due time . This will be the last time we see each other , I love you .."
"You said... you said..you said Always ..." Lily screamed as she cried profusely.
" I can't physically fulfill it, but my heart will always love you always and forever Lily Evans-Snape"
"Always and forever Sev..."
"Always..."
Severus took the girl in his arms and as he walked away he beckoned Potter to meet him a few steps ahead .
"I am handing you the most precious thing in my life, I hope...I hope you will take care of her just as I did."
" I will , I will protect her" .
" One last thing I know I will regret . Take this potion , it's a modification of the amortentia potion , but with more subtle but long lasting effects"
"You gave this to her? That's why she fell in love with you?"
"Don't believe it for a second Potter! , be thankful . I give it to you so that in a single dose and in the time you think thats right , you will have to give it to her without her knowing. I know you love her, make her to fall in love to you, even if it is not true and even if she will still love me , I give you permission to have her heart . It will be easier for her and for you. "
"I...I don't know what to say..."
"Typical... just thank you and take care of her."
"Thank you , Severus."
"See you later , James " And with this last sentence, he appeared at Spinner's End .
