Sun-hee POV

It was the second day, and we had just finished our core classes for the curriculum. I was pretty much okay in all subjects. I'm currently fluent in three languages; Japanese, English, and Korean. Math is a cakewalk for me. Mina likes to call me a demon in chemistry (Anyone who knows this reference, I love you) and I like to study history for fun sometimes. I know, I'm weird. Now, we were in our class waiting for Hero Basic Training to start. I suddenly hear a booming voice from outside the door.

"I AM HERE," they said. "COMING THROUGH THE DOOR LIKE A HERO!"

The others started gushing over All Might, while I smiled, remembering Sir. He marched over to the podium and faced the class.

"Welcome to the most important class at UA High. Think of it as 'Hero-ing 101'. Here you will learn the basics of being a pro, and what it means to fight in the name of good!" He got into a weird pose, which I think was meant to be cool, but just looked kinda awkward to me. He really is a weirdo like Sir said, even the people who admire him most see his flaws. "Let's get into it. Today's lesson will pull no punches!" As he said that, he pulled out a card that said 'Battle'. So, we're doing combat training today. "But one of the keys of being a hero is... Looking Good!" He then pointed to a wall where there were shelves coming out, with cases that have numbers on them. "These were designed for you based on your quirk registration forms and the requests you sent in before school started." Everyone was cheering, I was smiling softly on the outside, but cheering a bunch on the inside. "Get yourselves suited up, and meet me at training ground Beta."

I made a mock-up of what her hero suit looks like, but just not in full detail.

My hero costume consisted of a body suit with four puzzle pieces design (two black & two white), a black sash and belt with colored square pockets like a Rubik's cube that hold different Rubik's cubes. My boots were different colors, my right being black and left being white. I also had my necklace with my main six cubes. After I put on my costume, I walked out with Mina and introduced myself to the girls I haven't formally met, like Yoayurozu, Jirou, and Hagakure. We were standing in the group with All Might in front of us. "They say that clothes make the pros, young ladies and gentlemen, and behold, you are the proof! Take this to heart. From now on you are all heroes in training! You look so cool! Now shall we get started, you buncha newbies.

"Now that you're ready, it's time for combat training."

"Sir," I heard Iida's voice from a suit that resembled Ingenium's. " This is the fake city from the entrance exam. Does that mean that we'll be conducting urban battles again?"

"Not quite, I'm going to move you two steps ahead. Most of the villain fights you see on the news take place outside. However, statistically speaking, run-ins with the most dastardly villains take place indoors. Think about it. Backroom deals, home invasions, secret underground lairs. Truly intelligent criminals stay hidden in the shadows. For this training exercise, you'll be split into two teams of good guys and bad guys and do two on two indoor battles."

"Isn't this a little advanced?" Tsu asked.

"The base training is what you can get on the battlefield! But remember, you can't just punch a robot this time. You're dealing with actual people now."

Then some of my classmates were rapid firing questions. All Might proceeded to growl something on the lines of 'I wasn't finished talking'

"Listen up," All Might started as he opened a script. "The situation is this. The villains have hidden a nuclear missile somewhere in their hideout. The heroes must try and foil their plans. To do that, the good guys either have to catch the evildoers or recover the weapon. Likewise, the bad guys succeed if they protect their payload or capture the heroes. Times limited, and will choose teams by drawing lots!" Makes sense, the pros have team ups with other pros randomly. Thinking a little deeper, property damage can't happen for either teams with a nuclear missile in play, even if it's fake. We have to treat this like the real thing. We then drew lots and I ended up on Team B with who I remember to be Shoto Todoroki. If I remember correctly, he's Endeavor's son. All Might drew the first match up; Team A as heroes and Team D as villains. Then I realized who was matched up. Uraraka and Midoriya as heroes, against Iida and Bakugo for the Villains. This isn't going to end well.

We were all grouped together in the monitoring room, looking at the different camera angles throughout the building.

"Alright, let's begin the indoor battle training! Team A and Team D, your time starts now!" All Might yells into the microphone. "Pay attention kids. Think about what you would do." After a couple minutes of the heroes walking around, Bakugo comes in with a sneak attack. I heard comments be made, but I was too focused on the battle to hear them clearly. Bakugo went for the right hook, but Midoriya caught it and threw him over his shoulder. I see Bakugo's mouth move, but didn't hear his voice.

"Hey, who's Bakugo talking to? I'm not hearing anything. Can we get some some with this video?" I heard the redhead ask.

"He's got a radio in his ear, so he can talk to his partner. To him before the match started. Along with the map of the building. Also, this. A roll of capture tape! Wrapping this around your opponent means you apprehended them and they're out for the rest of the game."

"So there's a 15-minute time limit, and the good guys have no idea what floor nuclear weapon is hidden on right?" Mina asked.

"Correct!"

"And the heroes are clearly at disadvantage here. A big one!" All Might was about to respond, when I cut in.

"The real pros have to deal with stuff like this all the time, Mina. They have limited knowledge of the situation. So they have to put that knowledge to good use. Along with their abilities."

"Couldn't have said it better myself Young Jin! That's life! Even when the odds aren't in our favor, we fight! All together!"

"LET'S HEAR A PLUS ULTRA!" We all yelled with him.

"Monsieur, he's on the move," a blonde guy in a shiny costume pointed out. Our attention went back to the screen. Bakugo kept on the offensive, while Midoriya was on the defensive. Midoriya proceeded to run away and lost Bakugou. He seems to be letting his anger get the best of him. A few minutes later, I saw Uraraka in the room with the weapon and Iida. Bakugo also found Midoriya, his gauntlets flashed a red light. He then started to pull a pin from his right gauntlet.

"Young Bakugou! Don't do it! You'll kill him!" All Might yells. Bakugo pulls the pin and makes a massive explosion, destroying a good amount of the building. The explosion was so strong that it even made the monitoring room shake. He's completely blinded by rage now. "Come in! Come in, Midoriya!"

The heroes ended up winning at the last moment. Their strategy was very reckless. If it were the real thing, who knows what would've happened with the bomb. Midoriya messed up his arm and was sent to Recovery Girl to heal. We were currently lined up to know who was picked for MVP for the match.

"Well, despite the results. The MVP of this exercise is Young Iida!" Most of my classmates were shocked by this, but I wasn't surprised. Iida's the one who had the least amount of flaws during the exercise.

"Shouldn't it be one of the heroes instead, since they're the winners?" Tsu asked.

"Mm! Valid question. Why didn't I choose one of those two? Who has a guess?" Yoayurozu and I raised our hands, but Yoayurozu spoke up.

"Sir! I can tell you why!" She started. "Iida embraced this challenge. He was the only one who truly adapted to his assigned role. I'll explain. Bakugou's judgment was clouded by a personal grudge against Midoriya. As you pointed out earlier, launching a large scale attack indoors was a foolish move. It could have been disastrous. Similarly, midori's plan was also poorly thought out, considering the amount of damage that he received. He ran into himself helpless. Not smart. As for Uraraka, She let her guard down mid battle, and it finally attacked was far too reckless given the hypothetical stakes. If she treated the fake weapon as though it were real, she never would have risked using such an imprecise move." I cut her off and started to talk about Iida.

"Iida was fully prepared for his opponents arrival. His mind was set on completing the mission he had a strategy. Although his acting was a bit on the eccentric side and he lost the match, he was the one with the least amount of flaws in this exercise. Although the hero team technically won, they took advantage that it was training and not the real thing. All training should be treated like the real thing." I said casually. Everyone looked at me and Yoayurozu. We looked at each other and smirked. I knew there was a reason I liked her.

"Yes… Well, you overlooked a few things. Young Iida could have relaxed a little bit in the exercise, but… otherwise, you nailed it!" Nice cover up.

"When should always start with the basics and devote themselves wholeheartedly to learning. That's the only real way to become a top hero."

"Although true, not everything about being a top here you can learn in school. There are even some things that you can learn about being a hero instead of just being a hero school." And so the matches went on.

Todoroki and I were in front of Battle Building B. All Might was on the speaker as we started preparing. "Match 2! Team B will be our heroes! And Team I will be the villains! Look alive kids! Show us you're the embodiment of good! Or evil! Let's go!"

We walked into the dark hallway and I pulled out my air Rubik's cube.

Flashback

I was in Sir Nighteye's office and I had my air Rubik's cube in my hand.

"You've already learned to find objects with your air cube, now let's see you do it with a longer range. It's basically a glorified game of hide and seek. I'm going to hide somewhere in the office and you have to find me using your quirk," Sir ordered. He put an earpiece in my ear to signal when I was supposed to find him. A few minutes later, he gave me the signal. I solved the cube as fast as I could and a gust of wind came out. I closed my eyes and sensed the abnormalities in the air. I found three silhouettes of people in the building. I recognized Sir's silhouette on the fifth floor and second door to the right from the nearest stairway. I ran to the room to see Sir looking out the window. He looked at me and smiled. He walked over to me and patted my head.

"You're getting better by the day Sun-hee."

Flashback over

I smirked, as I solved it in a flash. Once solved, I threw it up and let the wind go through the entire building. Once I found the silhouettes of the other team and the nuclear weapon, I opened my eyes.

"One's in the hall on the north side of the fourth floor. The other's on the same level in the second room on the left closest to the staircase. He's with the weapon. They both seem to be barefoot." I explain as I pull out my water Rubik's cube from my sash. I looked at him as I solved it. "Hagakure is probably trying to use her invisibility to their advantage. But, that won't really matter. Your quirk uses ice right? We can freeze the entire building really fast if we do it at the same time." I hold the now glowing cube in my hand as he nods. He puts his hand on the wall as I push the cube in the wall. Ice begins to spread around the building and my hair is given light blue streaks. As soon as it covered the entire building, we started walking towards the weapon. It was silent, but I didn't really care. We reached the room where the weapon was to find, I think Ojiro stuck in the ice. He got into a defensive position but it didn't help him.

"Pry yourself up if you want, but it might be hard to fight me with no skin on the bottom of your feet," Todoroki threatened. This guy doesn't have to be so harsh. We walked past him and touched the weapon. I took my hand off and summoned my cubes back to my hand as All Might announces us the winners. Todoroki melted his portion of the ice with his fire side and said as he walked out, "It's not your fault. We're just playing on different levels." I followed him and patted Ojiro on the shoulder before I went out the door.

It was the end of the day and I was walking off campus because I had to help my parents at the cafe. I had just walked out the gate when I heard a yell.

"Kacchan!" It sounded like Midoriya's voice. "Wait up!" I looked from behind the gates to see Midoriya running up to Bakugou. He stopped a couple feet away from him when Bakugo looked back at him. "I have to tell you something. Maybe then, you'll understand what's been going on. I wasn't hiding my quirk from you. I was given to me by someone else. Recently. But I can't tell you who I got it from, so don't ask! Sounds crazy, I know. It's like something out of a comic book. Only, it's real. The thing is, I don't really have any control over this power yet. I haven't figured out how to make it my own. But I'm trying. That's why... I didn't want to use it against you in the exercise. Afternoon it was the only way that I had a chance of winning. I've still got a lot to learn. I know that. That's why I'm here. You'll see. I'll work until I have full control over this borrowed quirk. And I'll finally beat you with my own power!" Borrowed quirk?

"YOU'RE PASSING YOU'RE ONE FOR ALL ONTO A QUIRKLESS MIDDLE SCHOOL STUDENT?!"

Now that has to be proof. I need to talk to Sir about it. I was about to walk away when I heard Bakugo, "How dumb do you think I am? 'Borrowed power'? Don't talk to me like I'm an idiot. You already made a fool out of me in the damn training exercise. So? Did you come here to rub it in? I lost. And to make matters worse, it was to you. I came in first in the exam, but that's not enough. When I was watching that ice guy, I realized I couldn't beat him in the head-to-head fight. Crap! I even agreed with what those girls said. My attack was so stupid! Damn it! Damn it, damn it, damn it! Enjoy that win, Deku. You won't get another! I'm just getting started! Got that?! I'm going to end up the number one hero, no matter what!" I start to hear footsteps coming towards me. "I'll never beat me again, you bastard. Don't even try."

I then heard All Might yell, "THERE YOU ARE! BAKUGOU! I FOUND YOU! Just so you know, pride is an important attribute to have. But while you certainly have the abilities to become a pro hero, there's still plenty you have to learn!"

"Let go of me, All Might," Bakugo interrupted. "Right now. Save your speeches. I'll be more famous than you, and I'll do it without your help."

"Uh.. right," All Might stuttered. I dug into my bag as Bakugo walked out the gates. He looked at me and scowled.

"You here to mock me too," he growled. I sighed and took out what I was looking for. A box of my mom's calming tea. I threw it to him and he caught it. "Eh, the hell is this?"

"It's a box of my mom's calming tea. I originally wanted to give it to the principal since I heard he was a fan of tea and see what he thought. But, I was caught up in other things and didn't have the time to. You seem to need it right now, so I'm giving it to you. If you want more, the address of my parents' cafe is in the box." And with that, I walked away.

I finished my shift and was calling Sir Nighteye in my room.

"Hello, Sun-hee. To what do I owe the pleasure?"

"Hey, Sir. I um- I wanted to ask you a question. I've actually had this on my mind a couple of months after you started training me."

"If this is about why I started training you, I already-"

"No, it's not. Well, kinda. Can you just listen to the question?"

"Of course, Sun-hee."

"Okay, what is One for All?"

He went silent. It was like that for at least a minute.

"Sir."

"Sun-hee, where did you hear that?"

"I overheard you on the phone about a year ago. I heard you say you were training me to be worthy of it, that I would fit someone's criteria. And you said to that same person that they were giving that One for All to a quirkless middle school student. Now, I have a classmate who was said to be quirkless their entire life who now has a quirk! I just- I need to know what's going on! Please Sir!" I was panting after my rant. I heard him sigh on the other line.

"I wish it was my place to tell you, but it isn't," he responded. I clenched my teeth in frustration. "But I'll tell you who you can ask and they'll tell you everything."

"Really," I gasped out.

"Yes, tell them how you're acquainted with me and they'll tell you everything."

"Sir, who is it?"

"All Might"
