Tour Of Cairo And A Close Call

Hello my favourite people of Fanfiction! Hope everyone is doing okay?! I am back with a brand new chapter for you! In this chapter we will see Donkor and Keith will be showing Blu and Alex around the city! Showing them all the sights, and taking them across the beautiful city! Alex had luckily learned a lot from his wife the night before, so he will try to impress his new father in law! Plus we will see glimpses of the military macaw who will be keeping an eye on Keith, as he is still keeping an eye on Blu so he doesn't get himself killed! This chapter will involve a small fight scene! So Alex better get his nunchucks at the ready! Let's get to it shall we? I love saying that!

Cairo…a beautiful and luxurious city to be in! The beautiful golden sand that surrounded the depths of this beautiful country reminds us of a work of art! The hot blazing sun provided the country with a very powerful blaze, causing humans as well as animals to try and find sources of water to feed their thirst! As it would be too dangerous to travel without it.

That wasn't exactly a problem for our favourite snowy owl, and blue macaw. As the two of them had a drinking container strapped to their backs while flying in the hot blazing heat.

Blu was so full of excitement and determination, that he was rather enjoying this morning fly in the city. Alex on the other wing…let's just say he's not exactly enjoying the comparison of the heat waves in this country, compared to his new home in Rio.

"Ughhh…the heat! It's…Its so much hotter here than it is in Brazil!" Alex whined as he wiped the sweat from his forehead. "Even my sweat is boiling hot! I thought sweat is meant to cool you down?"

"Are you kidding? This heat isn't too bad! You just got to brush your wings up so you can blow some cold air across your face!" Donkor replied as he did exactly that, and sighed in relief when he felt cooler.

"Ahhhh…isn't it ironic that I'm a snowy owl? Yet I'm in the flipping desert!" Alex blurted out while continuing to wipe the sweat away.

"Ahhh, don't worry my new young son! You'll get used to it after a few days! I know this isn't exactly the coolest country in the world! But it's not exactly like we could die from this heat!" Donkor responded quite calmly, flying alongside his new son in law. "Besides, as long as you have a supply of water! Then you should be okay!"

Blu was really taking in the surroundings with a high amount of enthusiasm. Keith was flying just besides him a few metres away from both the burrowing owl male and snowy owl male. So he decided to make some small talk with the blue macaw male to basically…hide, his intentions! Not that Blu couldn't see right through it of course!

"So…you say your from Rio?" The muscular barn owl male asked him politely, as they continued to glide across the sky. "That is a long way away from here! Seems like you could have enjoyed your home more than here?"

"Yeah, I was born and raised there! I couldn't imagine living anywhere else! But Egypt has a very historic story!" Blu replied as he tried his best not to smile at Keith, mainly because of what Alex told him last night.

"So why did you decide to come here? I would have thought you'd want to stay in Rio?"

"I'm here to support my friend! I made a promise to him that I'd have his back! And that's exactly why I'm here!" Blu responded with a warm smile, as his eye caught a very strange building a few yards to their right. "Woah, that's a creepy looking building?"

"Oh…that thing? I wouldn't worry about that my friend! That…is the old assassin guild that's been set up here in the city!" Keith responded with a frown at the thought of it. Especially since he knows who helped…set up the guild. "That bastard better not be here!"

"Huh? Did you say something?" Blu asked curiously, when hearing him mutter something under his breath.

"I ughhh…said that it's very dangerous here! That assassin guild shouldn't be approached by anybody!"

"Assassin guild? You mean…he's not the only one?" Blu asked curiously, referring to one significant bird back home in Rio. "He told us that he was the only assassin? That must mean…there are more of them?!"

"Who? The only assassin I've ever met was…" Keith then thought I'd something evil to say…because he wanted to feed the blue male false information. "It was a blue and gold macaw! He was a…dangerous bird! Who slaughtered many of our families!" Keith lied as he started snickering in his head. "RDJ his name was…"

"What? RDJ? He can't be an evil bird? He saved my life in the Amazon?" Blu replied a little surprised by the barn owl's comment. "He can't be an evil bird!"

"What? You've met him?!" Keith widened his eyes in surprise, but really he must have predicted that he met him! He just didn't want to act like he knew. "You believe everything he said to you?!"

"Yeah? I mean…he is an assassin? But he would never hurt anyone! He only kills those who have hurt his own family? I don't believe you! Just like I don't believe you are being nice to Alex!" Blu snapped at the barn owl while hovering in mid air next to him. "So why don't you cut the bullshit and tell me what's really going on here?!"

"What are you talking about? I love the little…snow ball! He's a good little guy!" Keith said in a baby voice while imitating a parent who's giving a baby, baby talk. "He's a cutie wootie little bunny wabbit with no ears! Yes he is! Yes…He…IS!"

The blue macaw male trembled a little in annoyance while listening to his close friend being mocked like that! He wasn't going to let him continue to behave like this!

"I know what you're really up to Keith! I'm not gonna let you hurt my friend!" Blu replied with an angry glare, staring directly into his soul. "Do you have any idea what league you are in, messing with team samba club?!"

"Samba club? Oh please! You think you have a threatening team? Ohhhh noooo! A blue macaw who is unarmed! And a fluffy white puff ball with a couple of sticks on a chain! I'm soooo scared! Boo hoo hoooo!" Keith continued to mock the blue macaw, giving him an imitation of a scared bird.

The both of them noticed that Alex and Donkor have landed on a roof of a building, having a conversation about the city, so luckily for them they couldn't hear what Leith was about to say.

"You little shit! Let me make something very clear to you…buddy!" Keith spat while nudging him in mid air. "Siax is MY future wife! Not A-LEX! So if you wanna stop me? Then go right ahead! Just remember who's holding the weapon here! I have a spear, that I could ram right through Alex's heart when the king isn't looking! As for you, you've got nothing! So I suggest you keep your eyes on the prize! Who knows? I might even let you live!" Keith chuckled maliciously as he flew towards the other two owls. Leaving Blu to hover there in mid flight. Gazing at the barn owl with so much hatred.

"Shit! He is right about this! How am I going to stop him if I have no weapon?" Blu thought to himself, as he was about to join his friends and now current enemy.

"Psssst!" A voice was heard from behind Blu, but he didn't say it loud enough, because the blue macaw couldn't hear him. So they decided to up the ante by using a loud whisper. "PSSSSSSST!"

"Huh?" Blu turned around to see who was calling him, but when he turned around he didn't see anyone standing there. "Who's there?!"

"Shhhhh! Do you want Keith to hear you?" The voice spoke again, before it revealed to be the same military macaw from outside of the building. "Look, I'm here to warn you! Do not trust Keith! He's trying to kill your owl friend!"

Blu gazed at the military macaw in question, and he flew up to him and hid behind the podium so that the others couldn't hear him. "Who are you?"

The military macaw looked around the podium, and saw that all three of Blu's friends were all having a conversation. Completely unaware that Blu was out of sight. He extended his wing and shook wings with Blu. "The name's Fernando! I'm surprised RDJ didn't tell you about me?"

"What? You…You also know him? Are you an assassin?!" Blu replied a little shocked that this bird knew who his friend was.

"Of course! I was at the stadium the day Julio died! RDJ spared my life because I had a girlfriend and a kid along the way, so I promised to work for him!" Fernando replied in a subtle tone, as he showed him a scar on his left cheek. Which made the blue male widen his eyes in surprise. "Yes my friend…I am an assassin!"

"Oh my god…you were at São Paulo stadium? What happened after RDJ let you go? Did you continue to work for Armando regardless?"

"I carried on working for Armando behind enemy lines! But then he found out about what happened with me an assassin at the stadium, and he…he killed my wife…and my son! Here in Egypt!" Fernando replied sadly as he lowered his head to the floor. "I thought moving them here after what happened in São Paulo was the best decision! But little did I know that Armando would eventually find out!"

"That's why Keith told me about some military macaw causing trouble? You were the mole?"

"Exactly! But it doesn't matter anyway! Keith banished my wife and son without my knowing while I was arriving back from the Amazon! Then as soon as I came here to bring them home to São Paulo, one of the assassins from the guild told me that Armando murdered my family! So I've been out here alone ever since!"

"Wow…I'm so sorry to hear that!" Blu consoled the young macaw, patting him on the shoulder. "What are we gonna do about Keith though? He's armed with a weapon, and I have nothing?"

"Here then…take this! This should fit nicely on your left wing!" Fernando smiled at him, and gave him what looked like a gauntlet.

"What does this do?" Blu asked as he strapped the gauntlet into his wing.

"It's a retractable blade! You flick the switch with your wingtip, and a long blade the size of a dagger sticks out! Try it!" Fernando beamed as he took a couple of steps back.

"Okay?" Blu responded unsurely, as he pointed the gauntlet away from the both of them. He flicked the switch as requested, and this long blade stuck out, making the blue male jump slightly. "Woah! Now that is what I call deadly!" Blu stared at it in awe, before flicking the switch again to retract the blade.

"It's very good for combat! I invented it myself!" Fernando proudly replied as he too lifted up his right wing with another gauntlet on his wing. "Don't worry, I have a spare!"

"So…why are you helping me? Me? A stranger?" Blu asked curiously with an arched eyebrow.

"Look, at first I made a deal with Keith to get rid of you so I can steal your wife…"

"What?! You bastard!"

"Let me finish!" Fernando covered Blu's beak with his wing, and then returned it to his side. "But then I realised that you are a father! She is a mother! I can hear RDJ's voice in my head saying that it was a bad idea! That I should keep his promise by continuing to work for him! That's a promise that I won't break, you have my word!"

Blu was a little silent after his explanation…mainly because he wanted to kill this bird for trying to steal Jewel from him. But under the circumstances, he wanted to let him help as much as he could. Because in the back of his mind, he knew that Keith was going to try something to stop him from protecting Alex.

"Fine…but you stay a few metres away from us! You can't let Keith spot you or…"

"BLU?! WHERE ARE YOU?!" The blue macaw male noticed Alex's voice approaching him from a short distance. Meaning that he was coming straight towards him.

Using his quick thinking, he shoved Fernando off the roof, who landed in a pile of hay at the very bottom. Making him groan slightly in pain. "Owwww…I think I landed on by butt!"

The snowy owl male flew around the corner, and saw that Blu was casually leaning up against a podium, with a fake smile on. "Hey Alex? What's up bro?"

"Dude? We're you just talking to yourself?" The snowy owl male asked him, as he looked over his shoulders to see nobody standing behind him.

"Erm…yes! I was actually practicing…setting you up for some lines that you can say to Donkor you know? Try to break the ice a little! Hahaha!" Blu responded a little nervously with a fake laugh. Making his friend give him a strange gaze.

"Oh god, you might need a sip of water! The heat is already going to your head! Come on! Donkor is taking us to a popular site for birds in the city! Come on!" Alex pulled on Blu's wing, as the both of them flapped their wings and rejoined the king and Keith. Who both stood there patiently waiting for his return.

"There you are Blu! I thought you were already succumbed to the heat!" Donkor chuckled in amusement as he returned his gaze to Alex. "Now, there is a lovely little place that I wanted to show you in the city! It's a popular place for birds around here, and I reckon you will absolutely love it my boy!"

"Okay! Let's go there right now!" Alex beamed, as he gave his father in law a cheery smile, and leapt into the air with a lot of determination.

"That's the spirit! Come on guys! I know the perfect place where we can set up! It's in a quiet place in town where hardly anyone ever goes! Mainly birds! But luckily for us, they don't open until the evening, but as the king we will be the only ones there! Meaning…no distractions! No worries, and nobody will know that we were there!" Donkor cheekily whispered to Blu and Keith who nodded their heads at him.

As the king leapt into the air to follow his son in law, the muscular barn owl slowly turned around to Blu and gave him a malicious glare. "Best of all…no witnesses! Hahahaha!" He cackled evilly as he too joined the owls in the sky. Leaving Blu standing there with nothing but fiery rage in his eyes.

"Oh…there will be no witnesses alright! Nobody to witness you crying like a little bitch!" Blu angrily spat in disgust, before rejoining his friends in the air.

A Few Yards Away…

"Oooooh…ouch! That hurt me a little bit!" Fernando groaned, as he crawled out of the pile of hay on his wings.

As he slowly stood up to his talons, he stared at his wings that were all covered in dirt. Groaning every few seconds as he breathed through the pain.

"This is horrible! I better keep up with the others so that Keith doesn't kill anybody! Don't worry RDJ! I'm still keeping your promise! I won't let you down!" He mumbled to himself, as he managed to flap his wings perfectly fine, to follow the intended target, as Blu requested him to do so.

One Hour Later…

"Ughhhh…Haaaaa…how much further Donkor? I don't think my wings are allowing me to fly any faster?" Alex whined tiredly, while trying to keeep up with the older burrowing owl male. "Wow, how are you in such good shape? Must be a lot of training and exercise?"

"Oh this?" Donkor smiled as he gestured his wing towards his strong chest and abs. "I may be old son? But it doesn't mean I can't keep in shape for my special lady! I would have thought Blu would need to do the same to keep his little lady in his life!" Donkor joked about the blue macaw male, who smirked in amusement.

"Well…I did promise Jewel that after our trip here, I would go back home and work out with some friends! As you say, got to flex to impress!" Blu responded with a cheeky laugh, causing Donkor and Alex to join in on the friendly banter.

"That's if you're alive in time to go home!" Keith whispered to nobody in particular, causing the king to look at him weirdly.

"Woah woah woah there Keith? What do you mean by that?" He asked with a little confused gaze.

"W-W-What?" The muscular barn owl stuttered in fear, while gazing at his mentor slash king in fear.

"Oh…let me rephrase this so that even an idiot like you can understand, okay?" Alex sarcastically spoke up, while flying alongside him. "Why…did…you…say…if…he…was…alive…long…enough…to…see…it…KEITH?!"

The barn owl clenched his wings in anger when hearing the snowy owl male talk to him like that. Because if the older burrowing owl male wasn't there, he would throw him to the floor right now if he wanted to.

But as Donkor was waiting for a response from him, he had to make a quick excuse to avoid getting caught out.

"Erm…Because of…humans! And..And-And their guns! You can never be too careful in this country! Especially if you're a local from Basel!" Keith took the piss out of Brazil as if it was mocking their country.

"Brazil…Keith! B…R…A…Z…I…"

"Oh and it ends in an L, right? Like the letter you should stick to your forehead! Loser!" Keith shouted at Alex and nudged him out of the air, and he landed on his back on the golden sand below. "Oh no…did the little guy fall down?" The barn owl mocked him as he saw the snowy owl male spitting some sand out of his beak after the impact.

"Oh my gosh! Are you okay my son?" Donkor asked in concern as he landed on the floor next to him. "Here, gargle some water and spit it out! You want to get rid of the sand in your beak!"

Alex nodded in response and took his container, then poured a little water into his beak. Gargled and swished it around, and then spat the sandy water out. Making him sigh in relief.

"Feel better champ?" Blu asked him kindly, while rubbing him on the back.

"Yeah…as long as HE stays away from me!" Alex emphasised referring his pointing wing to Keith, who still stood there with that smug look on his face.

Donkor turned to his head of the guards and crossed his wings in annoyance. "Keith…front and centre!"

"But sir…I…" The barn owl got cut off from his sentence, when the king held his wing up to stop him from talking.

"I said…front…and…CENTRE!"

"Yes sir!" Keith obeyed his master's command, and slowly walked up to him, kneeling down in front of him.

"What you did, was very disgraceful! If I was in a worse mood, I would have you arrested for assaulting my new son!" Keith beamed as he placed a wing on Alex's shoulder, making him smile deeply. "But in this case…I want you to stand guard here!"

"What? But…But the site is only a few minutes away?" Keith responded with a little shock as he placed his spear end on the floor.

"You heard me right! Now…apologise to Alex now!" Donkor shouted at him with a little bit of anger, and moved out the way so he can get Alex to stand opposite him. "Go ahead! Say that you are sorry!"

"Ughhhhhhhhh…I'm sorry fluff ball!" Keith rudely spat while glaring at him. But Donkor didn't think that apology was acceptable to him.

"Try again! Say his real name! And say it properly! Look sincere!" The older owl male angrily spoke to him. "Or so help me god, I will punish you by banishment!"

"Okay! Okay! I'm sorry Alex!" Keith sincerely apologised…or made it look like it was sincere.

"Apology accepted! But I still don't want you near me!" Alex replied with annoyance, as he stood behind his father in law.

"You heard him soldier! Stand your ground here until we get back!" Donkor ordered him as he flapped his wings with Alex and flew off to the bar that the king was talking about.

Blu gave the owl a smug look, and did a little wing gesture brushing his shoulder off to say that he was flicking away dirt. The dirt symbolising Keith of course.

"Yeah, you laugh now blue boy! Cos when he is alone…he's a dead bird!" Keith grumpily replied, as he crossed his wings.

"Well…good luck with that! See ya later champ!" Blu mocked him as he flapped his wings and joined the others, leaving Keith to growl in rage.

A Few Moments Later…

Alex and Donkor landed just outside of an old looking bar in the outskirts of the city.

It looked like this building hadn't been used in years! But the snowy owl male was rather impressed by the structure.

"Impressive! Seems as though it's still intact! Do a lot of travellers and tourists come here?" Alex asked the king, who nodded his head towards him.

"This place for me is…the best memory in my life!" Donkor trailed off as he remembered a day greater than any.

Donkor's Flashback…His POV…

I remember sitting at a table in the middle of this bar, sitting there and drinking a whiskey in my wing.

I was a prince at the time…and my father wanted me to fall in love with a princess from another family. But I didn't want to be with her…because she loved me but I didn't in return.

So I told him I was going to go out into the town for a drink! He obviously was against it at the time…but I didn't care what he thought!

So once I got bored of this place, I decided to go on a little fly to take my mind off things. With my head clouded with different thoughts.

I wasn't even paying attention to what I was doing, and I ended up crashing through a wooden wall of some old shack.

"Owwww…my head!" I groaned to myself as I managed to break free from the hole in the wall.

But for some strange reason…I ended up hearing music from the inside.

Letting my curiosity get the better of me, I slowly walked inside…still searching for where that beautiful music came from.

I walked around the corner…and there she was…the most beautiful burrowing owl female I have ever seen!

Mandisa was performing belly dancing for drunk males in what I assumed was a hidden club with exotic dancers!

My eyes were completely glued to her movements!

The way she swished her hips from side to side…the way she managed to roll her belly like a beautiful wave…her golden yellow eyes that pierced my soul…now that right there…was a thing of beauty!

I was in love!

When the music stopped and she took a bow after her dancing, she started making her way to the bar to grab herself a drink.

I had one of two choices at this moment in time…I could either walk away from this and go back to my father…or…I listen to what my heart was telling me! I had to talk to this beautiful female! I guess you imagine what I listened to?

So I slicked back my head feathers, checked my breath to see if it was clean enough! Luckily I was in the clear.

I very slowly made my way through the crowd of drunken birds…and managed to make it up to the bar…where my future wife was standing.

"Erm…excuse me? Ughhh miss?" I was a little nervous at the time, because I didn't know how to talk to girls as much as I hoped!

"Yes? What can I do for you?" Mandisa slowly turned around and smiled at me warmly. That beautiful smile was enough to just melt my heart!

"Well….ermmm…I wanted to ughhh say…you're dancing…was…wow!" I trailed off in awe as I gazed into her piercing yellow eyes.

"Hehehe Thank you sir! I'm Mandisa…what's your name?" She extended her wing to shake with mine, and I very shakily shook her wing.

"Donkor…Prince…Donkor!" I responded with a slightly nervous expression.

"Of course you're the prince! It's an honour to meet you sir!"

"No please…just call me Donkor!"

"Okay…Donkor…" She giggled like the cutest little thing you could hear! It was like music to my ears!

So we ended up spending the entire night together! We laughed, danced, sang with each other…we kissed under the moonlight!

That was the day…that I met my soulmate…"

End Of Flashback…

"So you see Alex…the reason why I didn't freak out that my little Siax didn't marry into royalty, is because I didn't marry into royalty! I married a professional belly dancer, who ended up becoming the best queen that this city has ever had! Meaning that some day…the title could be handed to you…my son!"

Alex widened his eyes in surprise as he stared at the smiling owl male. He couldn't believe what he just heard? Was his father in law already considering him as part of the family?

"What? But…you only just met me?"

"I know I know! It's crazy to think about I know! But I genuinely think you'd be a good king for my people!"

"Oh…Erm…" Alex thought about it for a moment as he looked back and forth between Blu and Donkor. But after a few seconds…he made his decision clear. "Thank you for your offer Donkor…but Rio is my home! I can't leave Rio! My friends and family are all there!"

"I understand my son! Just…do me a favour?" Donkor responded while wrapping his wing around him. "Protect my daughter with your life! She woke up early this morning, and told me all these wonderful things about you! I genuinely believe that you are the best for my daughter! Unlike…certain birds!" The king replied as the two of them looked over to Keith, who continued to stand his ground.

"You've noticed? I thought we were the only ones?" Blu finally made a comment in this conversation, and approached them with a concerned glare. "He told me he had plans to kill Alex today! We can't let him! He wants to steal Siax!"

"Really? Well then, I better do the right thing!" Donkor replied as he cupped his wings together. "KEITH! HEAD BACK TO BASE NOW!"

"WHAT?! WHY?!" He shouted in response, feeling a little angry about this order. "WHAT HAS THAT LITTLE FLUFF BALL TOLD YOU?!"

"I swear…if he calls me that one more time…I'm gonna bash my nunchucks on his nose!" Alex angrily spoke, as he bit the bottom of his beak. Blu however had to hold him back to stop him from moving.

"THAT IS AN ORDER! GO BACK! OR DON'T GO BACK AT ALL!" Donkor screamed at him as he lowered his wings to his sides.

"Grrrrrrr…fine…if that little blue macaw thinks he can take me out of the battle zone…maybe I'll bring the battle zone to him!" Keith angrily growled, before cupping his wings together. "COPY THAT YOUR MAJESTY!"

The muscular barn owl flapped his wings and flew away in the direction that they just came from, leaving the two owls and blue macaw male to enjoy the rest of the sights!

"There you go Alex! He won't be bothering you today! Now…how about we head inside for a drink?" Donkor beamed as he pushed the doors open to the bar, and held it open for Blu and Alex to enter.

"Now that, we can do!" Alex responded cheerfully, as Blu and Alex wrapped their wings on each other's shoulders, and stepped inside. With the king closing the door afterwards.

Meanwhile…

Fernando just watched Keith leaving the trio behind, and flew back the way that he just came.

Luckily for him, Keith landed on the same building where Fernando was hiding. But he had no idea that the military macaw was there listening to him!

"Ahhhhh! That chubby, prickish, ugly…FUCKER! GRRRRR!" The barn owl screamed in anger, as he stabbed the ground with his spear. Which was only a few paces away from Fernando's head.

"Phew! That was too close!" The military macaw male thought to himself, as he continued to eavesdrop.

"They think…they can just come into our lives…take the respect of these…birds! Then Siax is married to that…little…PRICK! Ohhhhh…I'm gonna up my efforts now to take her by force! Alex is too close to the king now, for me to take him out!"

"Wow, this guy needs to get laid!" Fernando rolled his eyes, while continuing to stay out of sight.

"Well you know what? Forget it! I'm gonna hit him where it REALLY hurts! If I can't have Siax as my wife…then NOBODY can! HAHAHAHAHAHA!" Keith cackled evilly, as he leapt into the air, and made his way back home! To put his…plan, into action.

"Oh fuck! What do I do? What do I do?" Fernando thought to himself as he jumped on the roof of the building, and started pacing back and forth. "If I go back to their home, the guards will arrest me?! But if I go to warn Blu…then my head will be on the end of the king's spear! There is NO alternative to this plan!"

Fernando sat down on the top of the roof and thought carefully about this plan. But eventually clicked his wingtips when he made a final decision.

"Ok…the assassins! They have to help me! There is just no way they will leave me on the side! Look out assassin guild…here I come!" Fernando shouted with determination as he flapped his wings and zoomed off back to the city.

Okay, so at the end of this chapter, we have learned that Keith plans to up his efforts in any way he can to make Alex and Blu suffer! Alex and Donkor talked about how he met Mandisa for the very first time! Yes! Fernando from 'The Origins Of RDJ' is in this story! You are probably wondering why he chose the name Chase? Well…RDJ's cover name was Emilio! So Fernando's cover name was Chase! He's back again to support his blue and gold macaw friend! But what will happen now? The question is, in the next chapter, how will Jewel get on learning the best moves in belly dancing from the master herself? I will see you all soon for chapter 5!
