Bonus Episode #4 – Rise from the Ashes: 4th Trial
From what Damon Gant was saying besides the suspect of Lana to think she murdered Bruce at the Prosecutor's Building Parking Lot...From Angel saying what she was saying to be a detective once, and finding her muffler to say it was Edgeworth's mistake to not report the evidences but him and Meekins tried to, and that didn't work...A lot of paper work to say he was sorry, so he'll be just fine 'and ashamed a little'. Let's not forget on what Damon also say on some case of a murder weapon to be stole from the evidences room at the police station; which was used from the SL-9 case once and another murder might've happened at the same time Bruce was killed – but who was murder and who was accused for it? To the the police station and such for Phoenix and Cassie meeting up with Ema 'for her science investigation skills to come in handy to finally solving this murder case'. However, they weren't alone for someone was still spying on them.
Cassie: (Not this feeling again...!)
Turning around, the spy runs away to make a noise as he 'or she' escaped.
Phoenix: Cassie? The spy?
Cassie: Seems like it...With a strong smell of some type of body spray. (Which almost smells very familiar to me.)
Phoenix: Once we get to the evidences room, the police will make sure he doesn't make it inside the building.
Cassie: To do their part to protect and serve. Good point, Phoenix, thanks for always being their for me.
Kissing each other to keep on going.
Phoenix: It's nothing, Cassie...I love you so much...
Hopefully, this person will leave them alone now.
Time: February 23, 12:37 PM
Location: Police Department
Inside of the business, good old Detective Dick Gumshoe was trying to fix the Blue Badger sign to move around, but wasn't right now. That thing again...? Well, Phoenix and Cassie enter to run into Gumshoe to not take on this case since they probably kick him off of this one, poor guy.
Phoenix: What the...?
Moving in closer of the Blue Badger's bad movement...
Cassie: Hey, I've seen this weird character a lot in this building during the trial against Manfred.
It was working well during the time to be two months later.
Phoenix: (I think she's right.) You seem busy, huh Detective Gumshoe?
Gumshoe: Huh...? Hey, Kid. Hey, Pal. You two seem closer than ever...Just don't break her heart!
Phoenix: But I love her too much...!
What was he, Cassie's father?
Cassie: Nice to see you too, Mr. Detective, now heel.
Gumshoe: Sorry, but I get worried. I was the one who helped you out in some cases and staying in a foster home over the years.
Cassie: And I'm still grateful. But I can handle my love life, we're here on official business today.
He was aware about the case from Edgeworth to be doing.
Gumshoe: Oh right! I've been fixing the Blue Badger from malfunctioning again.
Phoenix: Blue Badger...?
Looking up on what the Blue Badger's all about thanks to Cassie's researching.
Cassie: The Blue Badger. Let's see...The chief detective first conceived of the Blue Badger and made a Blue Badger doll some time before Miles Edgeworth's murder trial. An early design later became the Proto Badger. A Blue Badger doll was displayed inside the Criminal Affairs Department for visitors such as, with the chief hoping that the Police Department would adopt it as its mascot. Despite the doubts of visitors, it gained approval among the police force.
Gumshoe: A real classic for the children, just as Kid explained everything just now. A real mascot cartoon for the true police force.
Phoenix: I just don't know how you managed to keep it running very well.
Cassie: It kind of looks old to me.
But they do get newer ones replacement every year for Gumshoe to try fixing it as much as he could do it.
Gumshoe: So, I heard you two are here to look around the evidences room.
Phoenix: Yes, Cassie and me wish to do some looking around since a murder weapon was stolen for some reason.
Gumshoe: You two are really going that far. Then good luck finding on whatever it is you're looking for. While you're at it, you should also head to the detention center where the suspect is already upper handed and caught.
Got the possible murder of the mysterious victim? That was fast...Then who was it?
Phoenix and and Cassie: That was quick!
Gumshoe: Well, it made it easier for us. He confessed everything.
For someone to give up so easily...? Okay then.
Phoenix: Really?
Cassie: Never in my life, I heard of someone to do that quickly. (I feel something of not true from this suspect, but I don't know why yet.)
Phoenix: Well thanks, Gumshoe.
For Gumshoe to do his regular duties for now, Phoenix and Cassie call up Ema to meet up with her soon to use her skills to help them out; but first to the Detention Center to see who the suspect was.
Cop: Please wait in here, you two. We'll bring him out in a minute.
Cassie: Will do.
Phoenix: Thank you.
For the cop to escort Phoenix and Cassie to wait in the Visitor's Room for this person to come out 'whoever he was'...Waiting around for a bit, Phoenix and Cassie talked about the things in their love life was getting a whole lot better so far besides working.
Phoenix: May last year is when we started dating. And for you and me to live together and work too...
Cassie: Yeah I know, it's a dream come true. On two things that is.
Phoenix: I just didn't think I'll take a case on like this one. Is like helping out Mia this time for Maya's sake.
From Ema looking like Maya, and Lana looking a lot like Mia as well. Well almost.
Cassie: It funny to see the complete opposite of the whole thing right in front of us.
Phoenix: And for you to fall for me as first sight.
Cassie: You did make me laugh to show I wasn't alone to help me find my parents and all about my powers, which I'm getting good at so far.
Always good to have someone you love by your side.
Phoenix: We'll get more leads in no time, Cassie, I promise.
Cassie: I know we will, Phoenix. I trust you.
With them smiling and holding hands to moving around and such to be a nice wait with just them only. Soon for a few minutes to pass by, here enters the suspect being Mike Meekins himself to introducing himself to them both.
Phoenix: Oh, no...
Cassie: AAAAAH! Meekins the killer?! (There's no way!)
No kidding! What's going on here?
Meekins: Officer Mike Meekins at your service, sir. And...Ah, the sweet woman from yesterday!
He still likes Cassie cutest, doesn't he?
Cassie: It's Cassie Freeman, but thank you for saying nice thing to me. But I have a boyfriend already.
Phoenix: Please don't touch her! She's mine!
Worried jealous is what Phoenix was to his Cassie, this has Meekins a bit...sad at this point.
Meekins: Oh, I see...
Cassie: Hey now, Meekins, it's okay. I'm sure you'll find true love someday with a special girl. I promise you.
Saying such nice things, this has the officer to keep on going.
Meekins: Yes, you're right, Cassie. Such a lovely name. If this man can love you, and I shall do the same but to keep you safe when I'm around-!
Cassie: But after the issue you're having right now please? (One at a time here.)
Nice guy, but his loud mouth and clumsy is special to keep him as a cop still.
Phoenix: (Good, he won't take Cassie away from me. He's not a bad person either.) Listen, Officer Meekins. Please tell us what happened to you on what led to you in here and let do the rest, maybe we'll fix this in court tomorrow.
Doing so and falling down for Meekins to get back up again, he was ready to talk.
Meekins: Yes, thank you boyfriend of the beautiful Cassie! I'll tell you everything!
A bit shaken up, he'll make it through.
Cassie: Just calm yourself and start from the beginning.
And so he does...
Tayla: I'll explain what happened to make the story shorter. Officer Mike Meekins had some business that day, and so he went to the evidence room. The guard office in front of the room was empty. Because evidence is kept in the evidence room. Now, the security officer...was none other than Officer Marshall 'from there and parking lot he watches on'! And then...Meekins happened to glance at the security room monitor. That's when he saw someone. A suspicious person in the evidence room. A suspicious person! After that, everything went white on this officer for him to see lots of red all over which made him blacked out. Then...when Meekins came to, h ended up at the detention center. With a bandage around his hand as well, and wrapped up nicely after getting checked and cleaned up. Sadly, Meekins couldn't tell who the mysterious person was who attacked him. As for who might've been in the room, from him, Jake, or Bruce before he was killed with his ID card to get him in. He didn't want to hurt or kill anyone to end up with a bad cut on his hand to shield his face and heart in self defense. He was pretty lucky. And the reason for Meekins arrested? Others thought he hid the person's dead body and didn't tell. I think it was all a misunderstanding...Of course the stranger got away to have Meekins being accused over nothing. And that's what he told them. Now back to our story.
With the hours to pass and Ema waiting for Phoenix and Cassie's arrival, she just started at the Blue Badger poster sign a lot to bring back a memory to haunt her a lot for the rest of her life. With the police mascot...? Why is that.
Ema: (That memory...)
Soon the couple arrives back to see what was on Ema's mind.
Cassie: We're here-! (Ema. Okay, now I just started feeling some type of sadness to feel out from here. Staring at the Blue Badger character, does it scare her...?) Hey, Ema. (I better keep this in mind.)
Good idea, don't forget. Phoenix: A strange mascot logo, isn't it?
Cassie: Tell me about it. The Blue Badger is something else. (You're a sweet life saver, Phoenix.)
Nice way to change the subject at least.
Ema: Yeah...Hey, Mr. Wright. Cassie. I was waiting here for ages.
Cassie: Sorry, we had to ask Meekin for questioning. We'll explain to you in a bit.
Phoenix: And we're here now. You had this guy to keep you company.
Yeah, about that...Ema kept on looking at the Blue Badger all weird-like. Something was on her mind.
Phoenix: Ema, are you okay?
Moving his hand in Ema's face, she snaps out of it.
Ema: I'm fine. Just feeling a bit of a dejavoo or something. And this Blue Badger, it's weird but it seems I've seen it from somewhere before...Ah, why were you two so late again?
Cassie: Um...Questioning Meekins? (Now I know something's on her mind.)
Getting back to that later, Phoenix answers Ema's question since Cassie did with some details to give out.
Phoenix: Like Cassie just said, we were questioning him from the other side for double murder.
Ema: So there are two suspects in Detective Goodman's murder.
Cassie: But we don't know if this one here has anything to do with Bruce getting killed.
Not yet, until they go deeper into the rabbit hole more and more.
Phoenix: Sure looks that way.
Ema: By the way I don't know if this will help out, but...I found this in Goodman's desk.
What luck, another clue! Seeing a piece of paper for Phoenix and Cassie look at it. Way it to work hard for good old Ema Skye to the rescue.
Phoenix: A lost item report?
Cassie: On what...? What was stolen during the day the murder?
Ema: Think about it. The list goes to the evidences room, and I thought we can use it for our science investigation.
Phoenix: Like what?
The only way to get inside of the room, is t show the members at the security room some proof.
Ema: You two will see real soon. Come on.
Cassie: To the evidences room we go...Also the paper here will be our ticket inside. I think Ema got ourselves another clue as well, Phoenix, think about it.
Phoenix: Yeah, good point...
And they were off...only for the Blue Badger sign to just stop moving again and fall on the ground on its own. A replace please. Ha! In the security room the three go into to look around to getting inside of the evidences room, with Jake working 'although he was sleeping on the job', since he was there on the same night he was on patrol like Meekins was.
Phoenix: Talk about having some tough security in this place.
Cassie: So much for having backup too.
Yeah, like Jake to be lying on the job.
Ema: And I thought falling asleep at your desk was a true professional.
Phoenix: Hey!
A little joke there for Phoenix does rest at his work desk sometimes.
Cassie: Now, now, you two. Please calm down.
He wakes up to see the three at work again.
Jake: Howdy. And you too, Missy.
He was trying to charm Cassie again.
Cassie: Hello to you too.
Ema: Hi again, Mr. Marshall.
Jake: So, what can I do for you?
Phoenix: We were just on our way to have a look around the evidences room, but I got something we need to clear up with you first.
Right...Jake was on patrol during the time when Meekins was attacked from the stranger, so they needed to question this guy.
Jake: And what would that be?
Phoenix: Cassie and I were interrogating with Mike Meekins.
Jake: Poor guy, I never seen someone like him on something he was willing to do.
Seems he was already aware of the part when it did happened, but was that all he could say?
Cassie: Are you sure that's all you wanted to say? And where were you during the time, Jake? If you don't mind of me asking you about it...
Phoenix: What my Cassie said. Meekins told us that you weren't at your post from the time of the murderer.
Cassie: So how did you know about it so quickly?
So weird...So now they needed to know from this cowboy.
Jake: I probably shouldn't be saying this, but...when they took my badge, it was just different for my job to never be the same detective again.
Ema: So where were you at 5:15 on February the 21st?
Yeah, where as he during the time when Meekins was attacked?
Jake: I reckon I was grabbin' a bite to eat.
Ema: Late lunch or early dinner?
Cassie: You should've brought your own lunch to work.
Good point, Jake should have and yet he didn't.
Jake: I know normal make their own meals, but I make it my thing to know when I get hungry. Besides, these machines work in better places than I do.
Being confused, Cassie knew right away for Jake didn't know how to use the machines in this building or some other ones.
Cassie: He means Jake doesn't know how to use the machines when getting to work or the lockers. (Don't they teach people these things, or give them guide books?)
Phoenix: Like the security cameras too?
That's what he meant, Jake doesn't know how to work those things at all.
Jake: And this thing-of-a-bob over there.
Ema: That's the data bank.
From the computer to all of the information to keep hidden.
Jake: Well whatever it is, it's use the slide some card thing on the side door.
Ema: Then it must be the number data on those members on who came in and what time?
It's like a security check just in case.
Cassie: Seems like it for others don't want to take any chances. (So Bruce had one of these.)
And Jake can't use it to have something special to use it with. Another clue? Could be, this might help them out.
Phoenix: Is there a chance to look at the record from two days ago?
Jake: I don't see why not.
Using the computer 'on some things for Jake is able to do', he gets the data of ID card records for another evidences for Phoenix and Cassie to have on them 'just in case'. One to be on 2/21, this was the one. It was some list to see and print out...

And that's all it says to have five things on it - two are the same thing to use twice, two other different ones, and the other had all sevens in it. Weird, huh?
Phoenix: So the numbers on the left are the ID numbers.
Ema: And the times on the right is when they were used.
Cassie: From the two same ones from the third and fifth might've belong to someone else to use a lot to getting back in a room a lot.
Right about one part, the rest was unknown.
Jake: That's 'bout the shape of it.
Phoenix: If this was all for one day, wouldn't there be more of them?
Jake: Not really, there's more than one evidences room.
Cassie: How many do you guys have in this place?
A lot to use it to solve any murder cases maybe? It could happen in real life in other police stations.
Ema: How many are there?
Jake: I forget...But this skipped aside, I think others are hidden for some other serious crimes.
Really? But this was very serious here.
Phoenix: This is a serious crime.
Jake: Whoa, calm yourself partner. I meant no offense.
Hitting the table for Cassie to do made Jake shake a little.
Cassie: WATCH IT, PAL! Don't overlook things like these things again please. This is serious.
Jake: Noted, Missy.
Phoenix: It's fine. Look, can I just have a copy to the case please? Anything to have this one done is fine.
Jake: Fair enough then. Just give me one good reason why I should make a copy for you. Anything, give it to me. I can handle it.
Lookin at it on the computer screen, there was plenty of good reasons why.
Cassie: Hold up... (Yeah, so it was used one on this one.) The listing on the fourth row.
Phoenix: That right there is the ID number belonging to Detective Bruce Goodman. And the time he entered in the room was at 5:14, one minute before he was killed in there.
Yep, Jake was surprised on their smarts to get something right and they did.
Jake: You got me there, partner and Missy.
And so, he prints it out for them to hold to as evidences.
Phoenix: Okay, I think that clears everything up. Thanks for you time, Mr. Marshall.
Cassie: This is perfect with you helping us out.
I think this guy can do on other things otherwise.
Jake: Mr. Wright, can I count of you and your two ladies friends on how I do my business between us only?
As long as Jake can do his other job than computer works, they understood. Getting the paper out to be finished printing out, they were good to go
Phoenix: No worries.
Cassie Thanks again. (Okay, I feel like Jake knows more about the whole thing. But maybe in court it'll come together somehow.)
Other than fixing his work, I think Jake had a lot more on his mind. Leaving the room - to the evidences room they go to next.
Ema: Huh?
Cassie: What's wrong?
Ema: We can't open the door with the ID card.
Still having Bruce's card to use, it was their only way inside.
Phoenix: Good thing we got one then.
Ema: Is that legal?
Cassie: We're only borrowing it.
So it was fine to give it back alter on.
Phoenix: It's better to use it than to not have nothing on us.
Sliding Bruce' ID card, it beeps for them to go into the evidences room.
Cassie: Let's go in.
Phoenix: After you two.
Time: February 23
Location: Evidence Room-Sector Three
Going in for Gumshoe was already in there to be working, just doing regular police work from the looks of it.
Cassie: All clear to have a look around now.
In other words, the search was done to do their own investigation next.
Gumshoe: Pal!
This had everyone jumpy to hear Gumshoe was right behind them.
Cassie: Mr. Detective!
Gumshoe: Sorry, I wasn't finish throwing the garbage out.
Phoenix: Just next time, tell us you're in here without sneaking from behind.
I think he has learn his lesson there.
Gumshoe: It's not my fault for making mistakes like these.
Phoenix: Then why are you here anyways? It's still a crime scene.
Besides taking out the trash.
Gumshoe: Well this is what I get to do some other chores since I'm not on this case. Helping out, yes. But that's about it.
Phoenix: You're putting the case for us tomorrow.
Gumshoe: I might as well aid you guys for a bit, the least I can do since you, pal and Kid aid Mr. Edgeworth. I am truly grateful.
From Ema looking at Gumshoe weirdly to have this detective left confused.
Gumshoe: Ah...Why is this girl giving me the evil look?
Cassie: Don't look at me.
Introduction time.
Phoenix: Detective Gumshoe, this is Ema Skye. Ema Skye, this is Detective Gumshoe.
Cassie: (And finally saying his name at along last.)
Now he notices the last name from somewhere.
Gumshoe: You're the chief of the prosecutor's sister.
Ema: Well, I hope you're happy to accused a innocent woman-!
Phoenix: Okay Ema, time out. Cassie, please wait for us.
Time to have a private talk for Phoenix had to tell Ema something, leaving Gumshoe and Cassie to wait for them.
Cassie: Sorry, Ema's going through a lot.
Gumshoe: I think I get it. And your work and love life in your new place is going well?
Cassie: More than ever for us to be in love.
In the corner of the room...
Phoenix: Look Ema, we get how you must feel. But if you want to argue with someone, then we take it in the courtroom. Violence isn't the answer. Now let's see these science tricks.
Yep, it was time to see what Ema's skills can really do.
Ema: Well, first...I got this.
Pulling out of Ema's bag, it was a spray bottle to not be for cleaning glass windows.
Cassie: Cool! Let me see...
Joining them to getting to work now.
Ema: This is a luminol testing fluid. It detects blood, even if the traces of it wipe away.
Phoenix: How?
Ema: It reacts to blood from the luminol chemical liquid.
It's like color fluid to spray something of leftover blood, once it's all over the spot to know what's there.
Cassie: I've seen these things. It's cool how it works out.
Phoenix: But how do we do that in the light.
Yeah, that would be a problem...But lucky for Ema has another plan to see it clearly.
Ema: With these.
Somehow her special sunglasses can see things like it to come in handy, even Gumshoe was surprise to see this while still cleaning up.
Cassie: Sun glasses?
Ema: These aren't just for show you know.
Phoenix: Oh, I didn't wonder.
Well, now we see how it'll work out with another item to use too and shows them.
Ema: And I got this too. This special powder will pick up on any fingerprints that was left behind. Spread, use a stick to move it around, slowly blow on it, and you get a set of fingerprints.
Cassie: Wow! Amazing on how much you can to.
Phoenix: Where did you get all of this stuff?
Ema: Mail order. Now, I need to go up to the lockers to clear up in any leads we can get out of this.
She shows it on how it's done. Testing it out - she places one of her fingers on the locker door, uses the powder on it, spread it, and then placing a tape to getting this simple fingerprint from there.
Cassie: That's it?
Ema: It is. And here you two go, clear as daylight.
Pretty cool, huh?
Phoenix: Not bad. (For someone so young, Ema's skills can do so much for the police in a few years.) Ema, you do your thing while Cassie and me get some information from our detective friend.
Cassie: Keep us posted.
So while Ema was working on her end, the two lovers talk to Gumshoe to ask him anything he might know of to be useful. Does he know a little that happened from the murderer on that day?
Phoenix: So Detective, Goodman's body was murder here and the body was found in the prosecutor's parking lot, correct? The officer who claims he came in here and yet he didn't even seen his face of a double murderer the more you think about it.
Cassie: Yeah Mr. Detective, what happened?
He heard on what Gumshoe could remember from the whole detail to talk about it to them.
Gumshoe: I was there when Goodman was working around from time to time, that's about it. There was no one else who didn't see Goodman go in this room, or these lockers to be open so easily.
Phoenix: Why is that?
There lockers here aren't normal looking ones at all.
Gumshoe: Besides the security systems around this place, there's a thing on it that touches the handle of it. Watch. Like mine you touch the hand with your fingerprint to see if it's the person's right one, if it is then it lights up for you to open it. And there's a censored on it too when the door closes for it to lock up automatically. So there was no chance it was locked by accident.
Cassie: So someone left it open somehow without forcing one of the workers to open it for this guy? So weird...
Phoenix: It does make things a bit more odd.
So how was this person able to it it all? It wouldn't open up for a stranger at all unless someone worked in a place like this.
Gumshoe: And you need an ID card to get in here anyways.
Phoenix: But the idea of the card was Goodman to come in here before he was found murder.
Gumshoe: Yep.
Cassie: There's no one this other person could've sneak pass Bruce by luck, could he?
It was hard to say, then Phoenix and Cassie wanted to show something to Gumshoe next.
Phoenix: By the way...Could you take a look at this? It's a list of ID numbers on who entered in the evidences room on the day of the murderer.
Cassie: We thought by showing you these numbers, then you can know the others of their names, Mr. Detective.
Looking at the print out paper to present to Gumshoe, he recognizes some of them besides Bruce's on the fourth row on the list.
Gumshoe: Huh. Here's one I recognize right there.
Seeing one of them for the other two to see.
Phoenix: Who's is it?
Gumshoe: Mr. Edgeworth's.
Cassie: No way!
Yep, there was no doubt he was around the time way before Bruce was killed.
Phoenix: Edgeworth! (What was he doing during the time and before the ceremony he went to?)
Gumshoe: Yep.
Phoenix: But what could he be doing in here.
Cassie: I'm lost too.
So much to learn about next, there must've been a very good reason why Edgeworth was in the evidences room.
Gumshoe: Listen, Pal. I want you and the Kid to keep this matter to the three of us only.
Phoenix: I'm hearing that a lot today.
Aren't they all? There was a lot to be going on lately.
Cassie: Look Mr. Detective, we would never tell anyone about Edgeworth was in this room to the others. We just want to know why he was.
Gumshoe: It just something that happened almost originally the other day. From Mr. Edgeworth's work against Ms. Skye and her sister's hard working behavior, now if this whole thing goes out to the public will really hurt his case.
From the event two months ago, it was best not to let other rumors go around Edgeworth to play it safe for now.
Cassie: Some trust in his new league, but others don't. I see where this is going.
Gumshoe: Now you get me, Kid. Speaking of which, I better go. I can still lend Mr. Edgeworth a helping hand.
Phoenix: And how's Edgeworth doing?
More paper work to fill out maybe?
Gumshoe: Not well...But most for some parts he was able to fix from his little error of mistakes.
Cassie: So much from it event from today.
So it was getting bad to worse on Edgeworth is what really going on.
Phoenix: That's a to we're hearing about lately. Also, what's with the SL-9 case?
Something that they'll also be important to hear about from the past two years ago, from unsolved murder case.
Gumshoe: Now that's something you two shouldn't worry so much about, it's all to be done by the police department. It has been buried in the past, and it's hard to dig it back up again.
Phoenix: But Detective Goodman thought of digging it back up again.
It all says so on the ID card of him entering in the evidences room.
Cassie: I had a feeling he wanted to find something, even the coast of his life.
Gumshoe: Then what a mess he ended up with...Later, Pal! Kid, you take it easy.
Off Gumshoe's goes to leave the room 'and cleaning up trash before meeting up with Edgeworth'. As Phoenix and Cassie join back with Ema to see how to blood sample was goin on her end.
Cassie: Ema, we're back!
Phoenix: How goes it?
Hopefully she has something big of a clue for them.
Ema: Not bad, but nothing unusual to look at either. There are lots of traces of blood in this spot where Detective Goodman was killed in. They think they've got rid of all of the blood, but looks can fool with the human eye.
From the ground next to their feet also had a pile of broken clay pot of some kind, more evidences from the SL-9 case maybe.
Cassie: Pottery shards?
Ema: It's strange, they left it here like this. And I was about to examine the blood print from this locker.
Oh, they got one. A real bloody hand print that was left on there to see clearly and not cleaned off yet.
Phoenix: Nothing on the shards of pottery either?
Ema: We better leave it for now until we uncover this room, it might have traces of blood as well. Here Mr. Wright, use these glasses to see the blood clearly. And Cassie, try spraying around it. We don't want to miss anything.
Cassie: Got it.
Phoenix: Sure thing.
Now it was time to get to work! With Cassie spraying on two locker doors, Phoenix tries to find any traces. Leaving Ema with nothing much on the bloody hand print to use a fingerprint powder on it.
Ema: No use with this one. I can trace any fingerprints on here, the person must've been wearing gloves.
But for the two couples, they just hit the jackpot. This has Phoenix smiling with joy for Cassie works hard and him heavenly in love like she was with him too.
Phoenix: Hey, I think we got something! (For me and Cassie to work like this, this makes me a lot happier.)
Cassie: Look at this, Ema.
Moving over to getting her glasses back and wearing it next, they spotted another hand print with some clear fingerprint traces on it.
Ema: It's another hand print. But there's no reason to be one here.
Phoenix: But one of the fingerprints fits quite whole.
The one of the fourth finger of the human body does.
Cassie: Right down there, see?
Phoenix: Maybe we can get a clear print with this?
Ema: Well, let's hope so. This could be our last chance to find a lead.
With Phoenix's fingers crossed, Cassie waits to see, and Ema getting this print with her tape and looks at it...looks like it was clear to see.
Cassie: It worked.
Ema: A clean image.
Phoenix: I'm glad that worked out.
Ema: And now we need to identify it.
Phoenix: How do we do that?
Next set was...Ema's little machine she brings around from the finger print to scan on who it belongs to clearly on data - Phoenix, Cassie, Edgeworth, Gumshoe, Judge, Meekins, Jake, Angel, Lana, Ema, and Gant to all be on there. You name it, and it'll scan to keep the record you once had. As well as Ema giving it to the police until she can own the item for it real soon.
Ema: I would have something to tell us now, but another time. I can still bring it to the forensic room for the scientists to get something for us by tomorrow's trial.
Or doing that will be also very much helpful to them.
Phoenix: Well, let just hope it was someone at the police department.
Cassie: Okay Ema, we'll leave that part to you.
Ema: Thanks. Okay, now we can look at the pottery things left on the floor next.
Walking over there on the ground, it must've been important type of pottery to break.
Phoenix: It looks like some type of pottery must've fell and break.
Cassie: Yeah, like this was hand made. And yet it was on the ground like this in the evidences room like this one.
Ema: The pieces are big, so it'll be easier to put them back together.
Good idea. But before that - a rubber gloves which was also evidences had a name tag on it to also be on the floor.
Phoenix: Hey, what's this
Ema: Maybe the science team left it behind.
Cassie: Hmm...Not really. If they did, then why does it have a name tag attach to it?
Another clue for them maybe?
Phoenix: It does have an evidences tag on it. Good eye, Cassie.
Turning it over - it says 'SL-9' on it.
Cassie: It can't be-! (Who knew the SL-9 case will keep showing up like this!)
Phoenix: Ema, look!
It's surprising for it had to be mean something now along with the broken pottery pieces.
Ema: SL-9!
Phoenix: Whatever this case goes, the SL-9 always crawls back up a lot. Whatever dark secrets it holds, I don't really know what we'll find if we don't know what they are.
Cassie: You're on to something, Phoenix. It's like someone wants to find it like Bruce did, but was killed for it. Someone didn't want to case to be solved with many good reasons why.
Looking at each other for the lovers, the get on their feet to do something else next.
Ema: Where are you two going?
Phoenix: Going to see someone to tell us more.
Showing the rubber glove will try to say much.
Ema: Okay! Then I'll head to the evidences files to get the fingerprint check. And I'll take these home with me.
Allowing to do so to have permission, Ema places them in her bag to glue it back together back at her home.
Cassie: Just make sure you tell Jake and the other cops before you leave with it.
Ema: Sign the paper work for it, gotcha Cassie. Good thinking.
All set for them to do the rest before calling it a day.
Phoenix: Got it, then we'll see you in court tomorrow.
Cassie: Good luck, Ema.
Off they go to see someone for Ema does the rest for them.
Ema: Bye, Mr. Wright and Cassie.
Working for Ema to get two things down today, while Phoenix and Cassie go to talk to Edgeworth back at his office 'to hopefully b feeling any better'. Well, not when someone sneaks up from behind to tying him up! Oh no!
Time: February 23
Location: High Prosecutor's Office-Room 1202
With them arriving to see the stranger from within the shadows for Cassie to pick up on before Phoenix could.
Cassie: There! (It's the stalker again!)
Phoenix: Who? Where is he?!
Cassie: Come on!
Phoenix: Cassie! Wait-!
Tripping, Phoenix tries to get back up and following his girlfriend with Cassie chasing after the man to find him going into Edgeworth's office to see the room being so dark inside.
Cassie: (I've lost him...) Edgeworth? Are you here? Why are you working in the dark with your door open again? Hello...? Edgeworth-!
The stranger hits Cassie from behind after seeing Edgeworth was all tied up for more danger was coming. With this person dragging Cassie to the restroom's sink to be filled with water, and started to drown Cassie to her doom; leaving Phoenix to finally run up to the office room in a hurry; he saw the door was locked to try running into it and forcing it to open up.
Phoenix: (Edgeworth's door?!) Cassie! Edgeworth! Can toy two hear me?! Answer! Come on!
Trying to hurt Cassie to drowning her some more, Edgeworth leads back and forth on the chair to fall and break free to throw something to make the stranger stop to freeing Cassie for some air. What a close call!
Edgeworth: Get away!
Panicking to flee, Gumshoe runs at the door to aid Phoenix to show his badge to stop the stranger.
Gumshoe: Freeze, pal! This is the cops! Ah! Kid! Mr. Edgeworth!
Phoenix: No! Cassie! (She's not moving!)
All soak and wet for Cassie was still out as Phoenix helps her out, Gumshoe goes after the man to flee in a hurry and for the detective, only to lose this mysterious person in the hallways. Calling for backup, Edgeworth started doing CPR on Cassie before she does die.
Phoenix: Edgeworth!
Edgeworth: Shut up, Wright! Cassie needs to be saved! I'll got this side, you give her mouth to mouth!
Doing so in a hurry, Phoenix aids Cassie to cover her nose and breathing through her mouth a few times, and finally...she coughs up the water to make it out of this mess alive.
Cassie: Ah, man...What happen to my head...?
Phoenix: Cassie! Thank god, you're alive!
Hugging his lover, Cassie was confused but she was happy to see Phoenix to be held in his arms and Edgeworth was free.
Edgeworth: You gave us quite the scare, but we did save you.
Cassie: Edgeworth...So the stalker got away. (But what did he want with Edgeworth? Also me...What did I ever do to this guy?)
So weird, right? With Gumshoe returning back to the room...
Gumshoe: Yes! Kid OK!
Edgeworth: Detective, the killer?
Gumshoe: Ah...He got away from me, sir! I'm sorry!
Edgeworth: Don't be. Let the police know what happened, put a warrant out so he won't come back here again, tighten up security, and get someone to clean up my office.
Already on it for Gumshoe to do something at least, he was a hero to try stopping the stranger person.
Gumshoe: Yes, sir!
Cassie: Mr. Detective...Hey, you did your best.
Gumshoe: Ah, geeze thanks Kid. I'm just doing my job. Get well soon for tomorrow.
And she was will. With Gumshoe doing so, the rest was up to the cops...As Edgeworth put ice on his sore hands to be tied up badly and Cassie a towel to dry off with, for her and Phoenix make themselves at home in the prosecutor's office yet again.
Phoenix: Edgeworth, are you sure you want to talk? Both you and Cassie were...
Edgeworth: This is nothing, Wright. Let me have my tea. You two should do the same thing.
Cassie: Could you at least tell us what happened before I came into this room?
Edgeworth: It's a mystery to me too, Cassie, believe me. One minute I was working at my desk, he attack me from behind to tying me up; then you entered to witness you drowning to your doom and...I had to do something or you've would've die!
Cassie: Hey, it's fine. I'm alive thanks to you two and Mr. Detective. I just don't know he wanted me if it had something to do you with, Edgeworth. Think about it.
This must be some type of connection then.
Phoenix: My guess is he was waiting for someone else to murder with Edgeworth's. It may not have been Cassie.
A big twist there, so it had something to do with the case to have Edgeworth killed and someone else to mistake Cassie with instead.
Edgeworth: What are you saying? I was the hit man's target?
Cassie: Then it was someone else involving...
With the one case connected with Bruce being killed?
Phoenix: (This might be our answer.) The SL-9 case!
Cassie: *BINGO!* So this other person and Edgeworth is what the guy wants dead just like Bruce Goodman was!
Makes sense, for the three besides Gumshoe and Ema to be aware of now. Maybe he wanted Lana Skye to be killed? Who knows yet.
Edgeworth: I see...From the trial I was set up for, now this. I'm becoming to popular to the public eye. Let just keep our eyes open, but for now...
Phoenix: You're right, the murder case comes first. We have something we wish to show you and talk about from the SL-9 itself.
Cassie: So speaking of which...
From the stalker 'whoever he or she was' will be hunted down, while Edgeworth listens on what the two lovers had to show and tell him next. 'As for Ema to be noticed on what went down by Gumshoe to say it, same with Lana to have her worry about this mess as well.
Edgeworth: So from this murder case, you two are also looking at the SL-9 one as well.
Already took a wild guess on it.
Phoenix: How did you know that?
Cassie: Not bad guessing there at a time like this too. (Since both Edgeworth and I were almost killed.)
But they're still alive, for they three might be on the right track little bit at a time.
Edgeworth: Because Cassie's good at what she does best, and I know you're never an idiot, Wright. Maybe Larry at times, but not you two. Like me, both of you have a connection you're gathering which is connected to this case as well.
Phoenix: Another just turned up. Goodman's locker was opened up during the time before he was murdered, for all of the evidences was there which was all about the SL-9.
The big question was this, when did it happened? Before Bruce was killed or after?
Cassie: You think the one who sneaked into the room could be the stalker and escaped to have Meekins be blamed?
Edgeworth: I don't know about this person, but it makes sense with Goodman. He was working on reopening the case during the time.
Seems like Bruce was way before he was killed.
Phoenix: He was?
Cassie: Must be. Then the stalker worked along the case as well which he wants to kill those who want SL-9 to be unsolved.
Edgeworth: It just one thing after another, isn't it?
Cassie: More like pure luck.
For Bruce to know all along and did it anyways until he was murder for it.
Phoenix: There's something else, Edgeworth. Cassie and I saw the list on who entered the evidences room the day of the murderer. Your ID number was on it.
Cassie: He's right. Edgeworth, you barely entered in the evidences room for a bit.
Yeah, and yet they don't know why he did.
Edgeworth: Wright, you better trust in me still...
Phoenix: It's not like that. I need to get any information we can get.
Cassie: Just tell us what you do know.
For him to be letting out a sigh, he tells them why Edgeworth himself was in the room.
Edgeworth: I was in there under the Chief's request. He said he wanted one the evidences in the room to deliver to the prosecutor office.
Phoenix: What evidence was that?
Showing in his desk, Edgeworth pulls out a simple screw driver.
Phoenix: A screw driver?
Cassie: Is that is?
Seems like it...
Edgeworth: Relax, this has nothing to do with the case with this thing.
Cassie: But why have a simple screw driver taken out of there?
Edgeworth: They just tell you without explaining the whole thing perfectly.
Putting the item back in the desk draw...
Phoenix: Really...? Seems like a in and out errand to do to me.
Cassie: Sounds like it.
Edgeworth: Said the famous defense attorney.
Phoenix: Now that was cheap shot.
Talk about teasing of a joke right back at each other.
Edgeworth: Look, can we get down to business please. After almost dying for Cassie and me, this is starting to give me a headache.
They might as well to still be on a look out for the real killer 'whoever he or she really is'. Time to drink tea, sit down, and listen to whatever they needed to get.
Phoenix: Alright, down to business. We just needed you to tell everything about the SL-9 case.
Cassie: I remember hearing about you working on it once, but that's an old article I remember hearing about only in the newspapers once. Sorry to trouble you with all of this.
That doesn't matter to this guy at all.
Edgeworth: Don't be, I might as well tell you two about it first. I do care about you, Cassie, even though you love Wright more...I'm still here for you.
Cassie: We are friends, right?
He'll find real true love soon to still be there for Cassie a lot.
Phoenix: Edgeworth, she's mine.
Edgeworth: Heh, still can't take a joke like this one. Okay, let me just warn you two. I don't know the whole picture...
Cassie: Tell us.
Here goes then...
Edgeworth: There was a serial killer from two years ago from the case, he was known as Joe Drake. I don't know why he was killing people and what happened to him because during the time I was starting off as a prosecutor; but the other prosecutor conflicted with the man and I wasn't involved with.
Phoenix: And they killed him bu the court of law?
Edgeworth: Not the joking type, Wright. I was the last one to know about this as well. He did something in the prosecutor's office of a hostage, leaving an detective to die for it to save someone's life. Joe getting caught and showing off evidences from his doing, he was found guilty and was sentence to death.
Wow! From Joe Drake getting caught for murdering people, being questioned, to hurting someone else for a detective saved someone's life to die for it, and Joe was killed by law in court from the crime he committed.
Cassie: Damn...I knew justice must be served, but to be sentence to death? It still mess up just thinking about it.
Phoenix: Isn't it a good thing though? Justice was served.
Edgeworth: Not exactly...You see, rumors began to rise after the trial.
Cassie: However, it was not in a good way, right?
Seems like it did get worse since it all felt like the SL-9 case wasn't solved yet for others.
Edgeworth: Correct, Cassie. Falsified evidences have been used. No one knew where it came from. But those who were involved with the case a lot more didn't take the serving justice on a serial killer to die so well. Truth be told, I did some work without knowing the whole details which went...A bit extreme like they wanted to end it all right away in that case.
Wow, so it didn't go so well or for Edgeworth to go through it as well well like a never ending hell.
Phoenix: But you didn't...
Edgeworth: Of course not...I didn't touch the evidences to begin with. I'll do anything to win a trial, but it goes against my code to do something which could be illegal to do. And the person in charge of the case was deputy, Damon Gant. The most brilliant mind the police force. Believe me. No forgery was committed.
Well, other than trying to win he would never cheat the way Manfred did.
Cassie: And yet, something did go wrong for no one to know until the very end. (Not a good way to be a happy ending to bring justice then.)
Phoenix: Which started it all of unanswered from the SL-9 case which had Detective Goodman killed for it.
Now they were started to get the picture so far.
Cassie: So because the SL-9 case for Bruce to re-open it.
Phoenix And another reason why you were trying to get some answers, but it didn't end up well in your favor with good evidences to present during the trial.
Edgeworth: The fact is, once the rumors started...it's hard to get rid of. What happened two years ago, some people wanted to leave it be. But not everyone who didn't want to treat it as a serious case, but a mis-understanding. From them to be working hard, I respected it to let it be. I had no other choice back then. They took the entire investigation out of my hands and the other officers, and I could do was wait for the results.
So it was more to the case for other to bad mouth it without knowing what really happened, with answers left unsaid. That was bad...for this person to once work on it has revenge or doesn't like things to be brought back up again. Maybe that's why...
Phoenix: Well, you could always polish your trophy.
I think that would be easier said than done.
Cassie: You know, I always thought people didn't make a big deal but to solve the case and bring justice. And yet, not all things have a happy ending to it.
Edgeworth: Thant thing? I rather throw it out to be mean nothing to me. There wasn't just a shield trophy, but also a sword one as well.
For him to get a reward for it didn't bother Edgeworth one bit.
Cassie: There were...Wait, there was a sword on here? (Yeah, it was cut off.)
A trophy piece was broken how?
Phoenix: Really? (Cassie's right, it is.) What happen to it?
Edgeworth: I don't know...These trophy or a sign to mean something, defending on what's right and fighting on from sword of fighting and shield to protect, a history about it from long ago. The trophy's appearance comes from an old Chinese tale in Han Feizi about a weapons merchant attempting to peddle his wares. In the story, the merchant brags that his shield can stop any attack and that his spear can pierce any armor. A passer-by (the king in Edgeworth's version) points out that this is a logical contradiction because of the possible scenario of the spear attempting to pierce the shield. Originally, the trophy consisted of a shield that was broken at the top and a halberd that was broken in half (although with the top removed, this halberd more closely resembled a sword). This was to allude to the Chinese word for "contradiction", which is "máo dùn". The two characters that compose the word are "máo", meaning "spear", and "dùn", meaning "shield".
Nice story around it, from back in the China old times to tell the tale all about it.
Cassie: Wow...That was some history there.
Edgeworth: And now you know, we need to find justice by any means.
Is that true? Sometimes that's not the case to find the right path, and the rest to follow through. For Phoenix and Cassie didn't think so from Edgeworth's own words.
Phoenix: But that's not true, Edgeworth. You're willing do anything differently, even if it means trying to find the truth. Not if you have to relive SL-9. If it involves with the same case, then we must find the truth by any means to solving this case.
Cassie: We can at least try, Lana is innocent. It just the person who's been spying on us is the true culprit.
Getting out of the seats, they have to get to work.
Edgeworth: It's amazing, isn't it Wright? The fact for you want to know about the SL-9, Cassie getting caught into this mess with me, and someone trying to get rid of it.
And it was up to all three of them to solve the two cases in no time.
Phoenix: See you tomorrow in court, Edgeworth. This should be interesting.
Cassie: We'll figure out who this guy was really going after. (Either one, we still need to protect the person this guy was mistaken me for it.) Later, Edgeworth.
Once they two leave the office...
Phoenix: Cassie, are you sure you'll be okay walking back.
Not without him lending next to Cassie's side.
Cassie: I got you, Phoenix, so I'll be okay.
A sweet romance to have Phoenix blushing and with hearts floating above his head.
Phoenix: I'm glad...This feels nice.
...With them walking back fine, Edgeworth just stands there and having more of his cup of tea and staring at the window. He knows what he has to do no matter what.
Edgeworth: Good luck, Wright. And Cassie, be careful.
More trial to be done for tomorrow, with two other things to be happening again in court and in one day.
