I own nothing you may recognize.
This and the next chapter take place when Hadrian only has the first term of Hogwarts complete, so there will be limited Harry Potter magic thus far.
In regards to some reviews; I'm not sure exactly how it can be said that I have skipped over a lot of the history of Lord of the Rings, since I feel I have touched on most of the major events of Tolkiens works, that have already occurred, but if there are any specific events you want me to review better let me know and I'll see what I can do.
Wood-Between-Worlds
"Now that I have had a chance to rest against this tree for a few minutes, I feel really thirsty, Hedwig do you know of any pools of water nearby?" Hadrian asked as he pushed away from the tree that Hedwig had settled down on.
"Yeah, follow me, I'm thirsty as well," Hedwig said in Hadrian's mind over to a pool that was in the shape of a whole note.
"This is an interesting, shaped pool Hedwig, are you sure it's safe to drink from, and not someone's property?" Hadrian asked cautiously.
"It's fine, see watch," Hedwig said as she flew over to the pool and began to take a drink, having been told by Eru, who had shown up in the wood, that Hadrian was needed in Eä as soon as possible. Hedwig of course agreed to guiding Hadrian to the portal back to Eä, on the condition that she could join with him, something Eru was more than fine with.
"Okay Hedwig, I trust you," Hadrian said before placing his hands in the water to cup water up to his lips, only for as soon as he touched the water he and Hedwig vanished from the wood.
Valinor 1400 Year of the Trees, 46,952 Years since coming of Manwё to Arda.
"Brother, I come bearing good news, for you and our kin," Ulmo said as he arrived in Valinor.
"Is that the case Lord Ulmo, do you not remember what we did earlier this very week?" Tulkas asked irritably.
"Indeed, I do remember what action occurred this week, with the release of Melkor from his bindings, but what news I bring, may offset the things I fear may occur," Ulmo said understanding Tulkas' irritation.
"What news do you brink then, Lord Ulmo, for few things could make the release of the Disruptor any easier," Nienna asked softly approaching the group.
"Hadrian has returned, one of the Maiar who aide me, informed me that he had approached the southern shore and sought to know where he was since he last remembered leaving that same coast with an army to attack Melkor in his own home," Ulmo said simply.
"Wait, Hadrian, the Gatherer has returned!" Manwё said shocked to hear his friend and brother's name.
"Yes, that is what I said, Lord Manwё," Ulmo said in turn.
"Then where is my beloved, if he has returned to Arda?" Nienna asked cautiously.
"The Maiar informed him of his location and then asked him to come with him to come here to Valinor, but Hadrian refused, saying he needed to see how things have changed since he had departed, but that he would soon return, and that clearly the stars would guide him back to Valinor," Ulmo said simply.
"Much has changed since his disappearance, the first of the Children of Ilúvatar have woken and many have joined us here in Valinor, yet some refused the call, and yet others accepted the call, but then refused to cross the seas," Varda said simply.
"Indeed, and both the children of my own hand and that of my wife have crossed the seas back to the old land," Aulё said simply.
"Yes, a great deal has changed, and that all before Melkor was released from his bindings, Oromё, could you go forth into the old land, and seek out Hadrian, and see how you could aide him, and see if he would return to Valinor?" Manwё asked kindly.
"Of course, Lord Manwё, but what if he does not wish to return?" Oromё asked cautiously.
"Then he may remain in the old land, we ought to remember that my husband has a role to be among the children of Eru, and not solely in our midst. He has a skill none of the rest of us possess in touching the lives of many, do not forget that he brought back under our banner the brothers who are were corrupted by Melkor, such as Dabugdal," Nienna said firmly.
"But Nienna, surely you desire for Hadrian to again be at your side," Manwё said shocked by her answer.
"I do, but I also am well aware that he is not solely mine, it was clarified to me before he vanished, that there would come times where to best bring the cultures together he would take a member of the culture to wife, so I will not stand alone as his wife. It also has been made clear to me, by father, that while I do wish he never had to depart from my sight, his role will often persist in the old country, for while here in Valinor he would be safe, much of his role will be needed to be found in the old country," Nienna said simply.
"I too have had that clarified, shortly after you decreed the Doom of Manwё, for which part even you should recall the last line of the decree," Mandos said approaching.
"I do not follow Mandos, the Doom of Manwё applied to the children of Ilúvatar not unto us," Oromё said confused.
"The last line, that came across my lips without my design but was whispered instead of spoken aloud was 'but should the King of the Soul and Heart be set apart, to sing the song and know the music of our Lord, the Doom shall not befall, for shall this be, the Father Eru has sanctioned the deed'," Manwё said softly.
"So, any of the Ainur could take many spouses?" Ulmo asked confused.
"Only if decreed by father, for any other who does so would be cast through the Wall," Mandos said firmly.
"Very well, shall I still go and see if I can find Hadrian?" Oromё asked kindly.
"Indeed, go forth," Manwё said before everyone returned to what they had doing before Ulmo appeared.
1460 Year of the Trees, Hall of Mandos
"Mandos, are you here?" A dark-haired man asked as he entered the hall with a fair skinned woman walking at his side.
"Do my ears deceive me, Hadrian have you at long last returned to Valinor?" Mandos asked as he entered the main chamber.
"Indeed, though my time here is short, as I sense that war will soon come upon us once more," Hadrian said sadly.
"Indeed, how then may I help you while you are here?" Mandos asked curiously.
"My new wife, whom you know that Eru has sanctified our union, though I also wish to speak to Nienna about this, wishes to know if her people, despite not coming west when Oromё asked them to, if they still will find a place in your halls should they fall," Hadrian said simply before noticing Nienna enter the hall.
"Beloved, how grateful I am to see you once more, despite the fact that Eru has told me it will only be for a short season, before other roles beyond our reach take you once more, oh and to answer your question, I understand, so long as when possible, you spend time with me as well, I have no qualms with your other relations," Nienna said lovingly.
"Of course, my love, I would never forget you," Hadrian said before turning to look at Mandos once more.
"You have taken a wife from among the Refusers, interesting, for Oromё has tried various times to convince them to come west, yet you have managed to do so in a short time," Mandos said shocked.
"Forgive me, Lord Mandos, but my people and I have not chosen to come west, we remain in our lands in the far east, I alone came once I was assured that my husband would bring me back to my own lands once I knew my answer," The woman said firmly.
"Is this true, Hadrian, you know that Eru wishes for them to all join us here in the west," Mandos said shocked.
"I am aware of the designs of Eru, and I also know of the desire of the people of my wife Ettelёmё, and I understand how they work hand in hand. For now they are apart, and will through the ages until Melkor's power is fully bound. They will be an aide to those in the east, remaining strong against all corruption that will occur, even in the firstborn here in the west," Hadrian said firmly.
"I have not seen that, but I know you had greater understanding of the music than any save Varda. Very well, as for your question Lady Ettelёmё, your people as with all the firstborn, shall have rest in my halls," Mandos said kindly.
"Thank you, Lord Mandos, and we shall continue to fight the forces of Melkor where needed and grow from it. We have learned how to build fire, thanks to Lord Hadrian, who ignited by his hand the bluebell eternal flames," Ettelёmё said respectfully.
"Very well, now shall are you needing to leave again soon, or do you have time to stay here for a season?" Mandos asked of Hadrian.
"Ettelёmё, wishes to return to her people, but then I shall return here again, for I need to learn more of the other groups of the first born," Hadrian said calmly.
"Might I join you as you go to the lands of the Refusers?" Nienna asked hopefully.
"Of course, my beloved, now come let us go," Hadrian said lovingly before they departed.
