Chapter 4: Rise of the Devil Pt. 2
Nedzu's POV
"Well that's peculiar." I said as I watched the security footage from the boy's room whereas he was completely still for a moment before his body started to grow. As he woke, he looked around before turning the heart monitor off and heading towards the bathroom.
"Think it's his quirk?" Tsukauchi asked. Both the doctor and I shook our heads.
"During his surgeries, we took a blood sample from him to determine what his quirk was." The doctor said.
"If it was his quirk, he would've used that during his one versus a hundred last night to avoid major damage." I said after the doctor.
"So what's his quirk?" Aizawa asked, also watching the footage.
"It seems to elevate all 5 senses of the human body to an enormous degree." The doctor told him. We continued to watch the footage as he went out the bathroom before he turned the lights off, making the camera go to night vision instantly. But as it did, the boy wasn't there anymore. Our eyes widened before we saw movement in the lost and found room. The lights was turned off there so the camera was in night vision and we saw the young man rise from the shadows.
"What…?" Aizawa asked in disbelief.
"I thought his quirk was sensory enhancement?" Tsukauchi asked. The doctor nodded frantically, surprised at the sight.
"I-It is b-but how did he do that?!"
"Nedzu." Aizawa called my name. I paused the footage and looked at him.
"Yes?"
"You said the ones that tried to kill you and him were all ninjas right? Including him?" I nodded. He nodded back in understanding.
"No wonder?" We all looked at him in confusion.
"What do you mean?" Tsukauchi asked.
"Yes, would you please elaborate Aizawa?" I asked.
"Ninjas and professional assassins have a way of disappearing in front of everyone's eyes as well as camouflaging themselves in spots you wouldn't normally check. What he did there is called Shadow Walk. Shadow Walking involves being able to combine one's essence and form with shadows. Basically, travel via dark places and spots. Traveling through the shadows is really fluid. Any place with shade or shadowy spaces can be used to meld with or enter and exit. The shadows can act as a cloak or cover to obscure one's presence to." We all looked at him in awe at his explanation. Even I didn't know such a skill exists in real life. We pressed play once again and watched as the boy change into normal clothes.
"Any idea on what his name could be doctor?" I asked him, he nodded before running off to get his medical file. A few seconds later, he came back with it just in time for the young man to open the window and stick his head out.
"What's he doing?" Tsukauch asked.
"He's gonna jump." Aizawa said. Like he predicted, the boy got on the ledge and jumped. Another strange thing we just witnessed.
"That is a powerful jump." I commented.
"His jump is almost as powerful as All Might, see how the ledge and below it cracked immensely?" Tsukauchi said. We all nodded before the doctor said,
"Here's his medical file." He handed it towards Tsukauchi who opened it and began reading it out loud.
"Shiro Kazuki. 11 years old, 5'4 turned 5'8 overnight, 40 kilos turned 44 overnight judging by his sudden growth as well and quirk is sensory enhancement." I clapped my hands and smiled.
"Well, now we know who to look for." I said.
"But where could we find him? Ninjas are very hard to find, let alone chase knowing he can basically shadow walk." Tsukauchi asked. Right after he asked that, his phone rang. He fished it out of his pocket and answered it.
"Yeah? What?" We looked at him curiosity.
"Alright. Okay. Yeah we'll be going right now." He ended the call and pocketed his phone.
"What is it?" Aizawa asked. Tsukauchi looked at him and frowned.
"Apparently, a mugger got diced into multiple pieces just an hour after Shiro here disappeared from the hospital. The victim described the person who saved her and killed the mugger was wearing the same one he's wearing in the footage." Me and Aizawa looked at each other and nodded.
"Shall we detective?" I asked. He nodded before all of us thanked the doctor for the file and footage before heading out of the hospital and getting into Tsukauchi's car then driving to the crime scene.
'Young Shiro, you continue to intrigue me. I hope we meet again in a non-violent environment.'
