Chapter 3: Wayne Manor

"Welcome home Sir, I thought you would be out late tonight?" a surprised Alfred says when I enter the manor. "Something came up… I will be in the cave if you need me." I say curtly as I move past him and enter the library. "Sir is everything, all right?" he asks with concern in his voice as he matches my pace and we both reach the entrance of the Batcave.

"No, Alfred everything is not all right… A ghost has come back to haunt me, and I have to find them." I say as I pull the chain that lifts the grandfather clock and reveals the elevator that will take us down under the manor. "What ghost is this Master Bruce?" he asks as we both ride the elevator down to the cave.

"Someone I would have liked you to meet, but never got the chance to introduce you too." I say quickly, whishing that the elevator moved faster. As we reach the Batcave I quickly move to the computer and quickly glance at the information Ra's sent me. "I can't believe the bastard sent me an email." I say quietly as I'm scrolling through the ten page email.

"What was their name?" Alfred asks quizzically while making me a cup of tea. "Her name was Avis, and she was one of the greatest warriors that the League had… She was the one who taught me about stealth and how to anticipate a targets next move. She also was the adoptive daughter of Ra's Al Ghul." I say quickly, I catch the surprised look in Alfred's expression for a second, before it returns to normal.

"Master Bruce, why are you looking for her now, you were only a part of the league for a short time before you returned home, and even after that you talked openly about your experiences, but you did not mention her." Alfred replies. I stop typing and think of something to say… but I could not.

"Ra's wants me to find her and return her to him… he is after something and I need to make sure I know what that thing Is. I told her that I would not let them revive her… I'm afraid I did not keep that promise." I say quietly.

"Why did she not want to be revived?" he asks as he puts down the saucer and teacup. "She saw what happened to Ra's every time he entered the lazars pit, and she did not want to lose her humanity… also he was planning on making an alliance and using her as the bait." I replied quickly making sure to watch the monitors.

After a long pause Alfred quietly replies, "I will leave you too it Master Bruce…please make sure you don't overwork yourself.". Then he turns around and leaves the cave, making sure to look back and watch the man who use to tell him everything, but now holds secrets close to his heart.
