Naruto: A True Immortal
Chapter 4
Start
Morning
Klaus was in a parking lot leaving a voicemail for Rebekah "Rebekah, where are you? Pick up the phone, darling. Mikael is dead. It's time for a family reunion."
Receiving another call Klaus switched to it "Stefan! Miss me already?"
"I'm just calling to thank you for my freedom." Stefan said.
"Oh, I like to believe I'm a man of my word, more or less." Klaus shrugged.
"Thing is, it came at too high of a price. You took everything from me, Klaus."
"Let bygones be bygones, trust me. Resentment gets old." Klaus said as he approached his truck in which he transported the caskets.
"You know what never gets old?" Stefan asked as Klaus opened his truck to see the caskets are gone "Revenge."
"No." Klaus said wide eyed.
"What's the matter, friend? Missing something?" Stefan asked in a large room with the caskets.
"What are you doing?" Klaus asked.
"Getting Payback. It's not fun when someone steals your free will." Stefan said.
"I will kill you and everyone you've ever met." Klaus threatened.
"You do that, you'll never see them again." Stefan said, "You caused this, Klaus, so get ready because now, you will suffer."
Klaus hung up the phone in anger.
Back with Stefan, he knew he had just kicked a massive hornets nest. Although he was royally pissed off at Klaus for taking away his free will and making him shut off his humanity, making him feed on his girlfriend, and undoing almost a century of hard work containing his Ripper urges, he was not so angry that he didn't think he needed backup. Sifting through his contacts and finding the number he wanted, he took a massive sigh and hit the dial button, putting the phone to his ear, waiting with dread for the man on the other side to pick up the phone.
Hearing the phone pick up on the other side, Stefan's heart jumped into his throat when he heard the voice of the man he feared the most in the world, "Stefan."
"Naruto," Stefan said with bated breath.
"You had better have a good explanation for why you fell back into your old Ripper habits, Stefan." Naruto said with annoyance and anger. "Do you remember what I told you after I helped you gain control of your bloodlust back in 1917?"
"I remember. You said that you would only spare me once, and after you helped me gain control, you said if I returned to my old ways, you would kill me yourself." Stefan said with dread. "But look, I can explain what happened."
"If it wasn't for the fact that you hadn't killed any witches yet, you wouldn't even be allowed the chance to make your case, old friend." Naruto said as he could be seen standing outside of a balcony in London, looking out towards Parliament. "Now, start talking."
So, Stefan told him all about what happened. How Katherine Pierce had come back to Mystic Falls. How Stefan and the gang had managed to outwit Elijah several times when he came after Elena. How they had failed to stop the sacrifice of the Doppelganger and that Klaus was now a hybrid. How Stefan had given himself over to Klaus in exchange for healing his brother of his werewolf bite, which would only happen if Stefan went back to being a Ripper. How Klaus had first failed at making Hybrids then figured out how to by using Elena's blood as the catalyst to finish the transition. How the gang had awoken Mikael, only for their plan to fail at killing Klaus, since Stefan botched it to save Damon's life and acquire his freedom from the compulsion.
By this point, Naruto was listening intently. "Hold up a moment. Mikael the vampire hunter is dead?"
"Yeah, Klaus stabbed him with the White Oak stake and killed him right before he released me from my compulsion." Stefan said.
Naruto hmmed in deep thought. With Mikael dead, Klaus had nothing standing in his way of creating an army of hybrids. He had already created a dozen or so hybrids before Katherine Pierce released Mikael from his tomb. Naruto and the witches had worked diligently to eliminate the Vampire race over the last millennia. The population of the vampire race was down to maybe about 100 members. Naruto allowed only very rare exceptions. The Mikaelsons, because the species of oak needed to kill them was basically extinct now, and reformed vampires like Lexi Branson and Stefan Salvatore. But Klaus being allowed to create more hybrids would put the werewolf species in mortal peril.
Naruto sighed. "You're lucky I like you so much, Stefan. Give me one week and I'll be there in Mystic Falls. I still have some business to attend to here in London." Naruto said as he hung up. He'd have to finish his meeting with Morgana and Morgause a little earlier than expected.
Stefan hung up the phone as well, knowing that he would need to lay low for a week. He didn't want to take his chances without backup in case things go south.
1 Week Later
Mystic Grill
"I feel like I'm going crazy. Totally paranoid all the time." Elena said to Bonnie who sat across from her.
"You have a right to be. Klaus is still out there and he knows you tried to kill him." Bonnie said eating a french fry.
"Why hasn't he made a move? There has been no sign of him. Nothing. Just my slow spiral into insanity." Elena stressed.
"Join the club. Every time I close my eyes, I have that nightmare. On repeat."
"The same dream?" Elena asked.
"Yeah! Four coffins, Klaus in one of them. It's weird." Bonnie explained.
"What if it's not just some dream? What if it's like...you know...a witch dream?" Elena asked.
"It's just stress. I'll figure it out. And what about Stefan? Has there been any sign of him?"
"He betrayed us Bonnie. The Stefan that we know is gone." Elena said dramatically.
"How is Damon handling it?" Bonnie asked with a raised eyebrow.
"Damon is...Damon." Elena said.
Bar
Damon and Alaric were sitting at the bar, with Damon having a lot of different alcohol bottles in front of him, while Alaric was reading something.
"Oh, I give you a choice. Bloody Mary or Screwdriver. Brunch in a bottle. Come on Ric, I can't drink all this by myself. I mean I can but then somebody's getting naked." Damon said as he looked at the female bartender who looked back smiling.
"Oh man I can't believe you're making me drink alone." he whined.
"I'm busy." Alaric said without looking up from his work.
Damon looked to Alaric with a raised eyebrow "It's the eve of Klaus-ageddon. You're doing homework?"
"This may come as a shock but I am not here to hang out with you. I'm here to see Jeremy. Who is an hour late for his shift." Alaric said.
"Kids today...Where are their values?" Damon asked mockingly.
Alaric put Jeremy's mid-term paper on the counter which had the title "American History 201". It had an "F". "That's his mid-term paper. Copied it straight off the Internet. Didn't even try to hide it." Alaric said in disappointment.
"Ohh, somebody's getting grounded." Damon said
"Did you say you are waiting for Jeremy-as in Jeremy Gilbert?" The bartender asked Alaric.
"Yeah."
"He was fired last week." The bartender said.
"Oops." Damon said going back to his bottles, while Alaric looked over to Elena who was at her table.
Old Witch House
Naruto walked up to the old house, opening the door, sensing that Stefan was there. As he headed down to the basement, the voices of the 100 dead witches that usually hung around the house seemed to sing and rejoice. That should not be a surprise though, they knew who he was and how important he was to witchkind.
When he got down to the basement, he found it empty, with only Stefan present.
"Hello, Naruto." Stefan said, still a bit on edge. They may be somewhat friends, but Naruto's first priority had always been witch kind. He would not hesitate to kill Stefan if he ever harmed a witch, and that was the primary reason why Stefan never hurt a witch, regardless of whether his humanity was on or off.
"Been a long time, Stefan. Though I wish we were meeting under better circumstances." Naruto said as they shook hands in greeting.
"Well, like I said over the phone, I could not do a whole lot about Klaus stealing my free will, and I really didn't want to try to and fight him without backup." Stefan said as Naruto walked around a bit, examining the coffins.
"So, these are the coffins of the Original Family. I always wondered what the appeal was about carting your siblings around in boxes. Looking at it now, I still don't get the appeal." Naruto said, noting there should only be 3 coffins for 3 Originals, yet there was a 4th one. He would have to sort that out later.
He turned back to Stefan and said, "You've brought me here and asked for my help, now, you will listen. Follow my lead and you will see Klaus suffer. If you don't heed me, you'll be the one suffering at his hands."
"Okay, so what's first?" Stefan asked, eager to make Klaus suffer for ruining his life.
Later
Elena was on the phone, leaving a message for Jeremy, while Damon was shooting darts "Jeremy, the minute that you get this call me!" she hissed before she hung up as Damon got another bullseye "Unbelievable!"
"You're feisty when you're mad." Damon flirted.
"It's not that I'm mad. I'm just-I'm worried." Elena explained.
"But why? He lost his job at the Grill. He can survive, Elena."
"He is spiraling. Ever since he stopped seeing Vicki and Anna, he is moody, he is not really talking to anyone."
"It's typical teenager." Damon shrugged.
"Who's seeing ghosts and has lost everyone that he cares about." Elena replied.
"Not everyone. He still has you." Damon said before he went to retrieve his darts from the dartboard.
"You okay?" Elena asked.
"What makes you think I'm not okay?" Damon asked.
"Well, you're day drunk. It's not exactly your most attractive look." Elena said.
"Hmm- what is my most attractive look?" Damon asked flirtatiously, as he moved closer to her.
"Ah, ah- I'm not saying you have any attractive looks. I'm saying this is my least favorite one..." Elena said with a small blush.
"Noted. See if I can make any improvements." Damon said, turning back to the dartboard, causing Elena to sigh before she looked behind her and her eyes widened as there stood Klaus.
"Don't mind me." Klaus said as he leaned on the table.
"Klaus." Elena said in fear.
"You gonna do this in the Grill? In front of everyone? It's a little beneath you, don't you think?" Damon mocked as he stood protectively in front of Elena.
"I don't know what you are talking about. I just came down to my local pub to grab a drink." Klaus said.
"I'm surprised you stuck around town long enough for happy hour." Damon said.
"My sister seems to be missing since she called me about Mikael. Need to sort that out." Klaus said, looking at them for any signs of deception.
"Cute blonde bombshell, psycho. Shouldn't be too hard to find." Damon deflected.
"Truth is I've grown to rather like what's become of my old home from 1000 years ago. Think I might fancy a home here. Oh I imagine you're wondering how this is affecting you. The answer is: not in the slightest. As long as I get what I want and everyone behaves themselves you can go on living your little lives however you choose." Klaus said as he grabbed the darts.
"What more could you possibly want?" Elena asked.
"Well for starters, you can tell me where I might find Stefan." Klaus said as he threw some darts.
"Stefan skipped town the second he saved your ass," Damon said.
"Well you see that is a shame." Klaus said in anger as he threw a dart and got a bulls-eye, embedding the dart in the wall behind the bullseye.
"Your brother stole something from me. I need him found so I can take back what's mine." Klaus said.
"That sounds like a Klaus and Stefan problem." Elena said.
"Well, this is me widening the scope, sweetheart." Klaus said menacingly as he walked out the bar, letting them fret over what he might do.
Later
Klaus Mansion
Klaus was staring out the window, sipping blood, "I'm surprised you're still in town. I gave you your freedom, you could have gone anywhere."
Stefan was leaning against a doorframe, "True. But this is my home, Klaus. I live here."
"Well, if we're playing this game, I was here first." Klaus pointed out. "You know, I'm hurt. I hoped that when I freed you, we'd pick up where we left off. But here you are, guzzling vervain like the rest of them, I'm sure. So much for friendship."
"A real friend wouldn't have stripped me of my free will and forced me to hurt the girl I love over a difference of opinion." Stefan pointed out, still sour about that whole ordeal.
"Okay, granted, yeah, that was a little extreme, but I get a little moody. Just ask my siblings. Speaking of whom, isn't it time you handed them over?"
"Why? So you can keep storing them in coffins like some ridiculous trophy?" Naruto's voice came from behind Klaus, causing him to turn around to examine the new face.
"And who might you be?" Klaus questioned Naruto.
"I'm the guy who fixed Stefan's Ripper problem after he ripped through Monterrey on Christmas Eve in 1917. Ordinarily, I would have killed him, but I was feeling merciful that day." Naruto said as he walked around Klaus to stand next to Stefan, Klaus' eyes widening in surprise as nobody knew that Monterrey had been slaughtered on Christmas Eve.
"Klaus," Stefan said, drawing the Hybrid's attention back to him, "Get your hybrids out of Mystic Falls, or Naruto and I will remove them ourselves."
"Hmm. You see, if you continue to threaten me, I'm gonna be forced to retaliate. Kill people. And it will get messy again." Klaus threatened right back.
Two hybrid's walked in at that moment, having heard the commotion, "Is everything okay?" The female hybrid asked, standing behind Stefan glaring at him.
"Everything is fine, Mindy. Stefan and his friend were just leaving after failing to make their point." Klaus said, as if challenging them to do or say otherwise.
Stefan burst forth in a flash of speed, grabbing a hacksaw that was laying on the table next to him and cutting off Mindy's head before she even knew what was happening.
Naruto's smirk grew wide as he snapped his fingers together and the other hybrid combusted on a molecular level, exploding in a shower of blood, bone, and gore.
Klaus looked on in shock at the display. He was surprised that Stefan was able to kill one of his hybrids so easily, but he was truly shocked at how easily this Naruto fellow killed the other hybrid, apparently using magic to kill the hybrid effortlessly.
Stefan turned back to Klaus. "Well, that's two down. You might want to send the rest away, before things get messy, again." Stefan threw the saw down.
Naruto looked at Klaus as he licked the hybrid blood that had splattered onto him off his fingers. "You have one hour to heed our warning, boy. Otherwise, you can say goodbye to the rest of your hybrids."
Klaus looked at the corpse's and back to where the vampire and immortal had stood in anger.
1 Hour Later
Klaus' Mansion
A hybrid named Daniel walked in with Mindy's corpse and the other hybrid's on a stretcher, "What do you want me to do with them?"
"Just get rid of them. I honestly don't care, Daniel." Klaus said.
Daniel walked away as Tyler entered and saw the corpses before walking up to Klaus, "You called? I'm here. What happened?"
"What happened is Stefan and his friend had two paths in front of them and they chose the one that made me angry. I need you to help me do something about that." Klaus smiled.
"Can't you just leave me out of it?" Tyler asked.
"What would be the point in that?" Klaus asked with a raised eyebrow.
"Seriously man, you've got, like, 15 other hybrids that could do it. Why does it have to be me? You're making me lose my friends, you're ruining my relationship with my girlfriend..." Tyler listed off, though Klaus stopped him when he brought up Caroline.
"Right, your, uh, your girlfriend. Um, about her...I need you to bite her." Klaus said as Tyler looked shocked and horrified.
Outside
Daniel struck a match and set the corpses on fire and watched as it burned before he turned to leave. It was then that his enhanced senses picked something up. Frowning, he turned to the fire and Stefan appeared right behind him as he chopped his head off with a knife hand strike to the base of the neck.
Inside
Tyler looked at his sire in horror, "What?"
"Don't make me repeat myself." Klaus said in annoyance.
"A hybrid bite will kill a vampire." Tyler said.
"Yeah. Yeah, I know exactly what it will do. See, Stefan and his friend pushed me too far, so I'm pushing back."
"I'm not biting Caroline." Tyler said, like that should have been the one thing he would never do.
"Tyler, I've been supernaturally blessed with the good fortune of a sire bond to you. So, one could consider this me putting your undying loyalty to the test." Klaus said with a hand on Tyler's shoulder.
"What the hell is wrong with you?" Tyler glared at Klaus, who frowned as Tyler threw Klaus' hand off his shoulder, "I'm not hurting Caroline."
"Good for you, kid." Naruto said, causing the two to look up at him as the hybrids who were working stopped what they were doing, "It's adorable really but you still would have ended up biting her, even if you don't want to. The sire bond messes with the subconscious part of your mind like that."
"What are you doing here?" Klaus asked
"We gave you one hour. Times up, boy." Naruto said ominously.
Klaus growled and vamped towards Naruto, who snapped Tyler's neck before throwing him to the floor, grabbing the heads of two hybrids speeding for him and smashed their heads together, turning both into paste.
Klaus punched Naruto in the jaw, though the only thing it really did was move his head a bit. Naruto retaliated with a punch of his own, burying his fist into Klaus stomach, causing him to gasp in pain as the Original Hybrid was sent flying through one of the barely renovated walls.
Klaus's Hybrids tried to rush to their master's aid but Stefan appeared with a machete in hand, cutting off several of their heads with one fell swoop.
Klaus looked at Naruto, as he got to his feet, "You're strong." Klaus noted in trepidation.
"I'm the oldest being on this planet." Naruto smirked, causing Klaus to scoff.
"You lie." Klaus said. Klaus rushed in with a swing but Naruto leaned out of the way, letting Klaus swing several more times, before he caught one of Klaus' wild swings.
"I was born in Greece around 100 BC and lived through the rise of Julius Caesar and Spartacus' slave rebellion." Naruto said, before he caught Klaus's other hand, holding him there, as Stefan killed several more hybrids.
"I was already ancient by the time your parents were born." Naruto said as Klaus struggled against the Immortals superior might and got his bones crushed for his trouble.
"There is a millennium of difference between you and me, child." Naruto said as he headbutted Klaus, fracturing the Hybrids' skull and causing him to shout in pain. Naruto Spartan kicked Klaus in the chest, sending the hybrid into another wall.
As the Original Hybrid struggled to get up, his back against the wall, Naruto walked over to him slowly, snapping his fingers and killing the last few Hybrids that Stefan hadn't killed, causing them to explode in showers of gore. "A fight between us, will always end with you groveling on the ground." Naruto finished.
Naruto picked him up by his collar. Klaus growled through the pain he was feeling and tried to punch him, only for Naruto to catch the fist, and pulled the hybrids' middle finger so far back that he ripped it off halfway, exposing the bone. Naruto then threw Klaus against the wall before kicking his face into the wall three times. He pressed his foot against the hybrids chest right above the sternum, collapsing his entire chest. Naruto then punched Klaus in the face several times and slammed his head against the wall, finally knocking him out.
By now, aside from Klaus and Tyler, all the other hybrids were dead.
"Let's Go," Naruto said to Stefan.
Nighttime
Klaus groaned as he awoke and sat up and reset all of his bones. Once he began looking around, his eyes widened seeing all his hybrids dead, Tyler missing, and he frowned as his eyes darkened before he let an enraged yell.
Old Witch House
"Haven't had that much fun in a while", Naruto remarked as he and Stefan shared a bottle of whiskey over their little victory today. It had been a long time since he had given his supernatural muscles a good flex. The last time was probably when he pushed back the Lycan's for the final time before he and his wife Qetsiyah used a ritual to devolve them and send them to the New World. The vampires that came after the Originals were not strong enough to make him give an honest effort and Mikael had been easily subdued back in Constantinople.
"You know, all this time I've known you and I've never actually seen you fight before. You are...exceptionally brutal." Stefan remarked as the whiskey traveled down his throat. He hadn't been able to even see Naruto move when he used his superspeed, but he was able to see the aftereffects of the exceptional damage that he did to Klaus.
"Only to those who've earned my ire." Naruto pointed out.
"Speaking of which, while slaughtering Klaus's hybrids was fun and all, none of it's gonna really matter if he can just replace them in the morning." Stefan said.
"I know. Your pretty little girlfriend is still in danger." Naruto said as he set his glass down.
"I know, and I don't really know what the right choice is. The only thing I can think of is maybe turn her into a vampire." Stefan remarked, as it was the only thing he could think of that would render the nature of her blood inert.
"That won't be necessary." Naruto said, causing Stefan to look at him.
"How?"
"Lets just say, there's very little magic can't solve. I can develop a potion that will change the magical nature of her blood, just enough that it is rendered useless in all things magical. She'll still be human and all, but her blood will no longer contain the magical properties that make it a potent ingredient in spells. Although, I am going to need to study her blood to do this correctly, so, you are going to have to bring your girlfriend to me." Naruto said as Stefan understood him perfectly. Elena may very well never forgive him, but as long as she had her magical blood, she would always be Klaus's machine for making hybrids. This was for the best. If she ended up hating him for it, well, at least she would have the freedom to do so and not be a slave of Klaus.
