𝐁𝐎𝐓𝐇 𝐓𝐇𝐄 𝐆𝐈𝐑𝐋𝐒 𝐖𝐄𝐑𝐄 𝐒𝐈𝐓𝐓𝐈𝐍𝐆 𝐎𝐍 𝐓𝐇𝐄 𝐁𝐄𝐍𝐂𝐇, 𝐄𝐀𝐂𝐇 𝐈𝐍 𝐃𝐄𝐄𝐏 𝐓𝐇𝐈𝐍𝐊𝐈𝐍𝐆, when Elena brought up her hands to mess with the curtains, revealing the reflection of ever the hero, Stefan Salvatore.
"Stefan," Elena gasped, immediately embracing the broody vampire in a hug. Devika eventually remembered Elena saying that Stefan had to lock himself in that damn tomb where his psycho ex was also there.
"I'll take it as my cue to go. I don't want to be a third wheel now. So um, bye-bye." She said jokingly as she grabbed her belongings. "I'll see you later El. Stefano." The couple glanced at the amber-eyed girl with a smile as she walked away from them with a sigh.
And, as she arrived downstairs, she greeted both Jenna and Jeremy a goodbye and left the Gilbert residence. Sometimes, she wished to herself that things could go back to normal. Like how her sophomore year was.
She missed her Ma so much. After her...passing, things were not the same anymore in the family. The two sisters attempted their best to fill that null void after her...death. But it wasn't just the same.
Hell, her sister even made her talk to a therapist she knew. Like that was gonna help. It wouldn't. Talking about your mother's demise that to an outsider would never help.
The sisters fought and shouted at each other. But still, in the end, they wept with each other and comforted each other. And that was the only thing that mattered to her truly.
Once upon a time, there lived three sisters in a beautiful valley. They were beautiful, energetic, and lived happily among themselves.
These three sisters weren't ordinary at all honestly. They were something created by mother nature herself. They were the Moors. Daughters of the Earth. They had a power that could shake the entire fabric of reality. They were the sworn protectors of nature and her beings; like the apsaras, faeries, angels, dwarves, goblins, witches, siphoners, and many more.
The oldest one of them was destined to be the queen, but she never wanted such responsibility. The crown then passed to the middle one who took care of the subjects with justness and peace. The beings loved her.
But in this case, the youngest one was left out. She grew angry and resentful. Then, she started practicing dark magic, which was forbidden by the middle one to do so as it corrupted the soul of one.
No one noticed her actions. But it was finally done as she had killed the oldest daughter of the noble who had visited them to learn about the magic of the Moors. She did that out of spite, out of revenge.
When the queen was acknowledged of this, she was saddened by the fact that the criminal was her younger sister. But as a queen, she knew that justice had to be served.
She locked her sister in a cage made of ivory and the stem of a blue lotus. The blue lotus was a rare one, it could only be grown by a Moor's and a witch's blood. And she knew that it would prevent her from performing any magical tricks.
But, the queen was fooled. A few days later, she found a warning by the Dark Moor 'Not to cross me' with the blood of the queen's lover smeared in the prison.
Before running away she had cursed the oldest one that she would die protecting the thing which was the most important and valuable for her. For the queen, she cursed her immortality where her wounds would never heal properly, only burning her.
And thus, the kingdom was destroyed. The queen in grief and loss gave up her throne and crumpled the castle valley into pieces. The two sisters mourned eternally for the youngest, hoping that she would come back to them one day.
𝐒𝐇𝐄 𝐒𝐓𝐈𝐋𝐋 𝐑𝐄𝐌𝐄𝐌𝐁𝐄𝐑𝐄𝐃 𝐓𝐇𝐄 𝐓𝐀𝐋𝐄 of the three sisters her mother had often narrated to her and her sister. The Moors always had fascinated her. Maybe they were real or maybe they weren't. She may never know.
She was walking towards her home to get a good night's sleep cause that what she wanted for a while. And the replay of that damned accident did not help her cause.
As she was going she felt that she had hit on something hard, causing her to lose her balance. But she felt someone's hands on her hips, helping her to regain her balance from falling.
"Ouch," Devika let out a small yelp as she regained her balance and stood up, looking at the one who 'saved' her from falling on her butt.
"Oh, I'm so sorry," came the voice of the man who saved her. She felt a very weird type of a chill in her spine when he spoke. When her eyes met him, she regretted doing that.
The man who had saved her looked like one of those sculpted Greek statues that she saw in the museums. His eyes had a glint of mischief pooled in those crystal blue irises.
"I should be," Devika hitched a breath. "I should have been seeing where I was going. But thank you," Devika sighed, "for doing this."
"Always a pleasure to save a beautiful one like you love," The man smiled at her, making her blush profusely. Could you embarrass yourself any more Devika, she screamed to herself internally and let out a breath before saying, "Thank you again,"
"K...Nik."
"Okay," She smiled. "Thanks for saving my clumsy self from breaking any bones. Nik." The blonde man just let out a small smile towards the woman.
"If you don't mind it," Devika let out a small sigh caused the man to look at the brown-eyed beauty beside him. "Are you new in town? Because everyone knows each other in this town and I have seen you here for the first time. And when I saw you, I was like 'Who is he?' Sorry, I ramble a lot." She then let out a small laugh.
"I did live here for a while," Nik continued, his eyes fixated on her. "But it seems like a thousand years since I left this town," Well, that part was actually true, but she didn't need to know...yet.
"Great," Devika muttered with a small smile. The two walked around the path till she reached her lane, in silence. Not in an awkward one, but rather a strangely comforting one.
"Well," Devika chuckled. "As much I would love to stay, I have gotta go home cause I'll have my sister after my ass if I don't reach on time." She turned towards him, one last time with a small curve gracing her features. "Very well, I hope we meet again Love."
"Until we meet again Nik." She waved the blond stranger a goodbye and walked away, disappearing from his sight.
He loved it when she called him that. He had searched for her for nearly a thousand years and he had finally found her. He felt a surge of joy through his body when he heard her melodious voice. He finally had it all. The dopplegangers, the moonstone and her. Unknown to him, Dia both her heart let out a flutter around him.
And, oh crap. He forgot to ask her name.
"𝐃𝐄𝐕𝐈𝐊𝐀 𝐒𝐇𝐀𝐇! 𝐈 𝐍𝐄𝐄𝐃 𝐀𝐍 𝐄𝐗𝐏𝐋𝐀𝐍𝐀𝐓𝐈𝐎𝐍 𝐅𝐎𝐑 𝐖𝐇𝐀𝐓 𝐇𝐀𝐏𝐏𝐄𝐍𝐄𝐃 𝐎𝐕𝐄𝐑 𝐓𝐇𝐄𝐑𝐄?" Caroline Forbes, her bestie and sister in every way but blood, screeched. Literally.
"Care?" Devika asked unsurely. A few moments after that incident with Nik, Caroline was...panting after her and took her (read: practically dragged) to the Grill.
"Uh no. Don't 'Care' me right now? What was that older hot guy doing with you?" She asked with a with her eyebrows raised, making Devika's cheek redden.
"What? Nik? I just met him Care. Besides, he just saved my body from breaking any bones. That's it." Devika scoffed, but Caroline made error sounds. "It didn't look like this Nik was just saving you from breaking any bones! It looked like 'love at first sight'! But, if he hurts you in any way, I'll shove his balls down his throat."
"Nope Care," Devika glared at her, "Not gonna happen." The brunette just was feeling wearied after today's events with Elijah. "It looked the opposite." The baby vampire muttered in response with a mischievous smirk.
"It was not!"
"It was!"
"Was not!"
"Was it!"
"I'm going home Care," Devika hummed, getting up. "Wanna join?"
"Yes. Can we watch The Notebook?" Caroline asked hopefully with her puppy eyes. "Okay," Devika gave in with a small tired smile as the best friends spent the rest of the night with each other in the brunette's home, finding comfort within each other.
But, her mind was more focused towards the guy who she met tonight.
