Episode 4: Nightfall
"You guys find anything?" Akria called out from the old book she was reading.
"Not yet for me." Leslie replied as she was picking out a few more scrolls. Pit and the girls were in the library in Palutena's Temple. There were records and documents all around and Palutena opened the place to the group so they could find any information to help them defeat Hades.
Ang picked up a few books and hummed, searching through them. "You all make sure to look thoroughly, okay?"
Eva blinked, picking up a scroll. "What's this? 'Romance Erotica for Goddesses'..."
"Give this to me." Angie snatched it away, with a small blush.
Leslie snickered, overhearing what Eva said and watching Angie swipe the scroll away.
Pit, meanwhile, brought a huge stack of books back to where Akria was.
"This was everything I could find in the 'Sacred Weapons' area here." The angel said. "I may not be able to read TOO well. But I can pick up bits and pieces of stuff."
"Wait...you're learning to read, Pit?" Akria asked as the other girls walked over, all of them remembering in the game Pit didn't know how to read.
"Well, Lady Palutena is teaching me how. I'm getting better at it though!" Pit smiled.
Angie smiled and stepped closer to him, picking up another scroll in the 'Sacred Weapons' area.
"I'm proud of you, really." She smiles. "Maybe I can teach you how to read books like 'Romeo and Juliet'?"
Pit looked at Angie and tilted his head, confused. "Who's 'Romeo and Juliet'?" He asked.
"It's a romance story. A classic where we come from." Angie answered.
"And one story where Akria literally CRIED at the end of the book when we read it in class." Leslie pointed with a slight smirk.
Akria pouted and said, "It's a sad ending!"
"Ah, the air of forbidden love...'Two households, both alike in dignity...'" Eva mused.
"In fair Skyworld, where we lay our scene…" Akria recited back, before the two looked at each other and started giggling.
"Wait, this takes place in Skyworld?" Pit asked confused. The girls all laughed a little as Leslie patted Pit on the back.
"We'll get you the book, Pit. Then you'll understand." She said.
"OK...?" Pit wasn't sure what that meant. Soon, the group got back to reading the books and scrolls. Angie helped Pit out with some words he didn't know how to read. Eva, on the other hand, was watching the two of them while pretending to read her book and searching for information.
"...?! I think I found something." Leslie suddenly said as she was reading a weathered old scroll.
Eva dashed over, going next to her as did Akria. Pit stood up from his spot, unconsciously taking Angie's hand and leading her over with him.
"Really?! What is it?"
Leslie pointed to the page she was looking at. It had a sketch of what looked like a wand with a gemstone in the handle of it.
"It says right here, 'People of Celestial Evolution can wield the Galaxy Wand. The wand must be forged by a master forger and accept the mortals before them'. It doesn't say anything about defeating evil or anything...but it's a start." Leslie said.
"That's awesome, Les!" Akria said as she hugged Leslie from the side.
"Well, it's a Galaxy Wand. Sounds pretty powerful." Eva said while gazing at it. "That's gotta count for something, right?"
Ang nodded, looking down at the scroll, not even realizing her hand was still connected to Pit's.
"I'm sure it does."
"But where are we going to find 'master forger' to make us these wands?" Pit asked. That left all the girls stumped and trying to think of an answer.
"I know someone who can definitely help." Everyone looked to see Palutena coming into the library with some snacks and tea for them.
Later on, after cleaning up in the library, Pit, the girls, and Palutena teleported from Skyworld and arrived on a large platform surrounded by red, green, and blue crystals. The four girls were amazed by the sight when they heard laughter echo through the air.
"Oh ho ho! Who do we have here? The Goddess of Light, Palutena, the angelic hero, Pit, and some new, young faces?" The voice of an elderly person said as an old man appeared before them. He was of average height, and his mustache and long beard were white and was mostly bald save the two tufts of hair on the sides of his head. He wore dull grey-colored clothing with a blue plate on his shoulder and a large hexagon-shaped metal brace on his left arm and right leg.
Akria and Leslie stood in front of Eva and Angie protectively and took out their medallions just in case of an attack. However, Palutena and Pit didn't even flinch at the sudden voice or at the old man's sudden appearance.
"Lord Dyntos! Thank you for allowing us to come here." Palutena said with a curtsey.
"Dyntos?" The four girls repeated, surprised and a bit confused at first.
Eva narrowed her eyes before she gasped. "...Oh, Dyntos! I know you! You're the guy in the second half of the game that helped Pit get the 3 Sacred Treasures! And you made him that cool weapon too! You should have seen me at the...end..." She was met with his confused expression, but then his hearty laugh.
"Well, then! Someone must have done her homework!" He said.
Eva blushed and chuckled. "Heh...hehe..."
"Anyway! It's an honor to meet you, Dyntos!" Akria said cheerfully.
"That's LORD Dyntos to you, missy!" The old god said with a tinge of anger in his voice.
Akria flinched and screamed slightly. "Ah! I'm sorry!"
Dyntos then just laughed. "Ah, don't worry about it too much, missy. I'm only pulling your leg." He smiled.
"Lord Dyntos," Angie started as she stepped forward. "We're trying to defeat Hades, and we read about something called the Galaxy Wand. It doesn't say anything about whether it can defeat Gods, though...that's sort of why we're here."
"Ah, yes. I guessed as much. Well, not the Galaxy Wand part but definitely the part about Hades." Dyntos said as he shook his head. "I've made quite a few Galaxy Wands back when I was a younger deity. However, ever since the Celestial Evolution technique had disappeared...there wasn't much use for them any more." Dyntos informed them.
"Are there any extra ones you might have from back then?" Leslie asked, hopeful.
Dyntos shook his head though. "Sadly not."
"Well, we're doomed." Eva groaned into her sister's shoulder, Angie shaking her head and patting her head.
"We'll find a way, Sis. We always find a way. What have I always told you?"
Eva looked up at her wearily. "Hope is our best asset...?"
Angie nodded her head before hearing Dyntos speak again.
"Over the years the wands that were never used had lost their power and couldn't be used at all anymore." Dyntos explained. "But that doesn't mean I can't make more." He smiled at the girls who smiled at the statement.
"Thank you, Lord Dyntos!" Palutena said. "How would you like us to pay?"
"Don't tell me we'll have to do three more trials." Pit got all nervous, remembering how hard the trials he had to take from Lord Dyntos back when he had to fight Hades.
Dyntos chuckled, "Not this time, sonny. Luckily, this time, all you and the girls will have to do is gather the materials to make the Galaxy Wands."
"…That's it?" Akria questioned.
"Yessiree! That's all!" Dyntos replied.
"Let me guess, these materials aren't everyday items we can just get at the market, are they?" Leslie asked.
"You're a sharp one, aren't you?" Dyntos chuckled. "No, I'm afraid they're not. But they aren't impossible to find. And you only need three of them."
"Oh, so just 3 of them?" Angie tilted her head. "And, how long would that take?"
"Well, it's no luck if you're in a hurry," Dynthos advised. "But I'd suggest you'd better start finding them now - who knows what hands they'd fall into."
"What are the materials?" Eva asked.
"A silver crystal, a cosmic cube, and orichalcum." Dyntos answered.
"Hmm...The first two don't seem like hard things to find. But that orichalcum..." Leslie pondered.
"It's a rare material that's only available to Gods." Palutena explained.
"And I ran out of it. I used all the orichalcum I had to make the Great Sacred Treasure." Dyntos admitted.
Angie saw their distress and sighed.
"Well, how about we start with trying to find that silver crystal? If we find one, we've gotta find the others soon, right?"
"That's the best way of looking at it." Dyntos agreed. "I'll have my apprentices set everything so when you bring the materials, we'll get started right away."
"Apprentices?" Palutena repeated. "I didn't know you took on students, Lord Dyntos."
Dyntos chuckled, "Well, these two had quite the hand for forging and blacksmithing. I should introduce you all." The god then cleared his throat and called out, "Clay! Jasper! You boys come here and greet our guests!"
A few moments passed before a door magically appeared and opened up.
"Oh! Sorry if I'm late, Lord Dyntos!" The young man said as he entered the area through the door. The male was tall and willowy with fair skin, and had piercing green eyes and short, fine, red hair. "I was...doing things..." At the moment, there was the sound of someone running in and barging into the area was another man, disheveled and out of breath. He was tall and had an athletically built body with white skin. He had orange eyes and hip length, lank, blonde hair that was slicked back.
The newcomer breathed in and out before he glared at the guy who came in before him, pointed at him, and shouted, "He pushed me down the fricking stairs!"
The red haired man turned back to the other man and shrugged his shoulders. "Push is such a strong word. I prefer to call it...'giving you a little nudge'." He said with a smirk.
This caused the blonde to grab him by the collar of his shirt and growl in his face. "Oh! I'll give you a little 'nudge' when I shove my FOOT up your ASS!" He shouted in anger.
"Hey!" The red head snapped. "Watch your fricking language in front of the deities!"
"Hello...there...?" Eva sweat dropped at these two, tilting her head. "I don't remember seeing them in the game…" She mumbled.
Dyntos cleared his throat to get the boys to stop fighting and face the group.
"These two are the apprentices I was speaking of." Dyntos said to Akria and the others.
"I'm Clay." The red-haired one said with a smile.
"My name's Jasper. Nice to meet you all." The blonde said, much calmer now. "Clay and I are practicing to become master forgers, and who better to teach us than the God of the Forge himself?" Jasper said.
"That's awesome!" Akria said. "I'm Akria! This is Leslie, Eva, and Angie."
Pit then was about to introduce himself, "And my name's..."
"Holy cow! You're Pit! The angel that defeated Hades!" Clay said all excitedly before dashing over to him. "What was the Great Sacred Treasure like?! Was it hard to operate?! Is it true that Hades destroyed it AND the original Three Sacred Treasures?! How did you use the Pegasus Wings when you already have wings?!" Clay was spitting out millions of questions so fast, Pit couldn't keep up.
"Clay, slow down." Dynthos commanded with a cough. "He'll answer your questions, one by one."
Clay coughed and backed up, scratching the back of his neck. "R-Right. Sorry..."
"But back to the matter at hand, why did you call for us, Lord Dyntos?" Jasper asked his master.
Dyntos turned to Jasper and said, "I need you two boys to start preparing everything needed to make Galaxy Wands for these young ladies."
"Galaxy Wands?" Jasper gasped. "But sir, we don't have any orichalcum to make them!"
"That's why these youngsters will be gathering the materials we need." Dyntos explained.
Jasper looked over Pit and the girls and gave them an unsure look before looking back at Dyntos. "Are you sure they can handle it? They don't seem like much..." Jasper admitted.
"Hey!" Akria pouted and glared at Jasper.
"We're smart!" Eva said as she raised her hand. "And Akria and Leslie are superheroes - and they're gonna save the world and become famous!"
"I wouldn't say all THAT..." Leslie said while scratching her neck.
"Super heroes huh?" Jasper mumbled. "…Alright. If you say so. C'mon, Clay! Let's get everything ready!" Jasper said to his fellow apprentice as he started walking back to the door.
"Coming!" Clay waves goodbye to everyone as he follows Jasper through the door and disappears.
"They seemed very determined." Palutena said to Dyntos. But then she felt something. She looked off into the distance as she felt dark power being used.
"Lady Palutena? Is everything OK?" Pit asked.
"It's the Underworld Army. They're attacking again!" Palutena answered.
"Then we'd better get to work!" Leslie said as she and Akria took out their medallions once more. That's when Palutena teleported herself and everyone out of the area.
"Good luck out there!" Lord Dyntos called out after them.
Arriving in the town, the group found the strangest thing happening. The sun had been totally eclipsed by shadows and it was like night time outside.
"Why does it look like nighttime took over the morning?" Eva asked, Ang stepping in front of her protectively.
"I don't know. But we'd best be on our guard."
Palutena looked at Akria and Leslie and nodded her head.
"Let's go! Celestial Evolution!" The girls called out as they transformed in Angel Crimson and Angel Azure.
"Let's find whoever's behind this and take them down." Crimson said. But that's when they were ambushed by Underworld monsters, but they were different. They were darker, covered in some kind of blackness.
Angie backed up, pulling Eva behind her.
"Girls, wait. These seem different now...I'd be careful with these guys." She instructed.
Crimson and Azure nodded in agreement with Angie as they got ready to fight. Pit summoned his Palutena Bow and Palutena herself stood in front of Angie and Eva to protect them. The moment the monsters charged in, a giant club came from what seemed out of nowhere and sent the monsters flying. And then dark magic was fired and destroyed the rest of the remaining Underworld troops. The group looked to see who had done the job.
"It's been quite a long time, angel face! What kept ya?"
Pit smiled and cheered, "Magnus! It's you!"
"It's an honor to see you again, Pit."
The girls looked to see a woman wearing magical armor standing next to Magnus.
"Wait...Are you Dark Lord Gaol?" Palutena asked, surprised.
"Um...it's just Gaol, actually." The woman answered.
"Hello, Lord Gaol and Magnus." Angie said, briefly surprised, But then smiled kindly and bowed. "My name's Angelique and this is my little sister Eva, as well as Angel Azure and Crimson. A pleasure."
"Oh no, miss. Simply call me Gaol. That is enough for me." She smiled, shaking her head.
Magnus raised his club over his shoulder.
"If you're all done talking, we've got some fighting to do, Gaol." Magnus said.
Gaol nodded her head in agreement. "That's right."
The two fighters headed into battle along with Pit, Azure, and Crimson, Eva looking with her eyes sparkling.
"So cool~."
"Childish..." Angie sighed, but a slight smile came on her face.
The group of five took out many Underworld monsters as Palutena, Eva, and Angie stood back.
"Any idea who's behind this?" Crimson asked Magnus as she slammed her fist into a monster.
"No clue, but Gaol and I were following that!" Magnus pointed towards the center of the town where there was a huge black tornado.
Azure kicked a monster back before jumping forward. "Let's follow it! I think if we get to the center we can see what's happening!"
The group hurried forward when Pit and Gaol suddenly stopped seeing a horde of Underworld troops coming their way.
"You've got to be kidding me!" Pit groaned.
Gaol turned to Magnus and the Angels, "Magnus! Hurry and take care of this problem!" She told them.
"You've got it." Magnus said, headed for the battle as the Angels headed after the monsters.
Ang stepped forward to try and follow, but had to hold herself back.
"Be careful..." She whispered.
Magnus and the Cosmos Angels hurried through the town and finally made it to the black tornado.
"…So...A mortal man and the Angels come to stop me?" A voice echoed from within the tornado.
"Who's that?" Angie asked as she looked up into the sky, seeing a dark figure coming out of the tornado.
"I've got a bad feeling..." Eva mumbled, clinging onto her sister.
The figure coming from the black tornado was a girl that looked about a year older than Angie. She had tan skin and clear silver colored eyes. Her long jet black hair was in a braid over her right shoulder. She wore a circlet crown that was silver and a crescent moon symbol on it. Her outfit was similar to Medusa's outfit from the game but was more black and silver colored with hints of purple here and there.
Azure and Crimson go into fighting positions as did Magnus.
"Who are you?" Crimson asked.
"I am Nyx, the Goddess of the Night." The girl answered simply.
Eva tilted her head. "I don't remember you...maybe you're a secret boss?"
"Who do you think you're talking to, little girl?" Nyx glared daggers into the girl.
Eva glared back at Nyx but her look was nothing Nyx's glare. Eva quickly went back behind Angie. Palutena stood in front of the girls to protect them.
"Hmph." Nyx turned her attention back to the Angels and Magnus. "Lord Hades would like to meet with one called Angel Crimson. I'm guessing it's you, the red one?" She guessed, pointing at Crimson. "I suggest you come willingly."
"And I suggest you forget it!" Crimson snapped back.
Nyx sighed as she summoned a black and silver scythe from the tornado. "I guess things will have to get messy then." Nyx let out a battle cry as she charged and slashed at Crimson, but Magnus blocked the attack with his club. Surprisingly, Nyx and Magnus' strength were almost evenly matched.
Magnus grinned. "This'll be fun to do."
Nyx growled, pressing harder against his club until they both backed up. "Why you...!"
Nyx then heard Crimson cry out as she tried to punch Nyx while her fist was on fire. Nyx's eyes widened and backflipped away from the angel and Magnus.
Nyx tightened the grip on her scythe as she charged forward but this time swiping the ground and creating some kind of small pool of blackness, and emerging from it were shadows of Nyx with beaming red eyes.
"Girls, watch out!" Angie shouted from behind Palutena. "Shadows at 12 o'clock!"
Azure heard the shout and went into action immediately, summoning her magic and striking down every shadow she saw to get to Nyx.
Magnus slashed and clobbered any shadows that got too close, but was soon overwhelmed and was almost attacked. But then Gaol and Pit joined the fight and Pit fired a charged shot at the shadow that was trying to attack Magnus.
"Sorry to keep you waiting!" Pit said to Magnus as they got back to back.
"Good timing, angel face!" Magnus complimented as they got back to fighting.
Gaol, on the other hand, helped Crimson and Azure fight off the shadows around them.
"Anyone have ANY ideas—Cause I'm open to suggestions right now!" Crimson called out.
"Well, Nyx is the Goddess of the Night, right?" Azure asked. "What if we shed some light on this situation?"
Crimson and Azure shared a smile as they both looked to Palutena.
"Palutena! We need you to—Oh, never mind." Crimson was about to ask the Goddess of Light to use her magic to maybe stop this nightfall but she had her hands full with protecting Eva and Angie, AND fighting off Underworld Monsters. Angie thought carefully before she snapped her fingers, pulling out her phone. "Get out your phone and turn on your flashlight." She ordered her sister.
"Big sister, there's no reception!" Eva whined.
"You don't need reception for a flashlight, Eva." She nearly snapped, ushering her sister to pull her own out.
Crimson and Azure pulled out their phones at the same time and turned on the brightest flash they could on the flashlight function. Eva quickly did the same. They all pointed the lights at Nyx, who flinched at the sudden brightness.
"Ah! What IS that?!" Nyx asked, very confused on where these girls got that light.
"Some illumination for your black soul." Angie said firmly as she aimed her phone closer to Nyx's face. "Pit, now!"
Pit looked at what the girls were doing, being a bit confused at first before realizing this was his chance.
"Oh-right!" Pit fired a charged shot at the Goddess of the Night and she screamed in pain as she flew back.
"Oh! Oh! I just got a greater idea!" Crimson said before she put away her phone. She then closed her eyes and started concentrating her energy until her body was literally on fire.
"Wha-What?!" Nyx was shocked by what Crimson was doing.
Crimson then jumped as high as she could into the air and used her special attack. "Angelic Crimson Inferno!" Crimson made her flame as bright as she could and it literally lit up the sky, driving back the darkness and bringing back the daylight.
"Damn, not too bad for a kid." Magnus commented as the daylight began to destroy the shadows of Nyx easily.
"You're all despicable!" Nyx shouted, shielding her eyes from the light.
"I know a couple of ways to turn up the heat." Crimson said with a flick of her hair. "There's more where that came from!"
Nyx flinched before deciding to retreat quickly. But as she did, she accidentally dropped something without realizing it. Eva noticed however and hurried over to pick it up. Crimson came back down and hurried over to Eva.
"What's up, Eva?" She asked.
"Nyx dropped this, I think." Eva said as she showed the object that was left behind. Crimson took it herself and examined it.
"It looks...beautiful." She said as everyone else gathered around.
"What is it?" Azure asked as she and Gaol came over last.
"Oh ho ho! That's a silver crystal, m'dear!" Echoed the voice of Dyntos.
"Lord Dyntos!" Pit exclaimed.
"Dyntos? You mean that old guy from back then?" Magnus asked.
"'Ey, sonny! I'm not old!" He scowled at him, making Magnus backtrack.
"S-Sorry, Lord Dyntos." He looked away while Dyntos laughed.
"Ah, I'm just pulling your leg, sonny. But yes - it seemed she dropped some silver crystal in her retreat!"
"That's awesome!" Eva cheered. "How lucky are we?!"
"One down, two to go." Angie smiled.
"We'll have those materials for you in no time at all, Dyntos!" Crimson said as she and Azure transformed back to their normal selves.
Dyntos chuckled, "I'm glad to hear such enthusiasm. Alright, I'll leave you all to it!"
As Dyntos' voice faded away, Akria looked down at the silver crystal in her hand.
"We're one step closer now." She said as she looked at everyone around her.
"I'm glad we were able to help." Gaol smiled along with Magnus. "If you girls need anything, help in battle or not, don't hesitate to contact Magnus and I."
"That goes double for you, angel face!" Magnus said, patting Pit on the back. "I think I deserve a good fight after that 2 year break!"
"Heh! You got it, Magnus!" Pit said as he shook hands with the mortal before he and the others took off back to Skyworld.
"I have failed you, Lord Hades. And I will accept any punishment you give me." Nyx said calmly as she bowed before Hades in the throne room. Hades looked down at Nyx before looking back at the purple wisp that showed Pit's team fighting off the Underworld and Nyx herself.
Hades narrowed his eyes.
"They just get stronger and stronger...what could this power be?"
"We're doing research on it..." Thanatos said this, but it was false. In reality, he was playing cards with Pandora. "...seems like some ancient stuff."
"Ancient, you say?" Hades pondered on that for a moment. "...Pandora. Is the Labyrinth of Deceit still operational?" He asked the Goddess of Calamity.
"Every bit of operational. A bit rusty since work is slow." She smirked as she placed another card down. "Your move." Thanatos growled a little while he was losing to Pandora.
Hades stood from his throne and walked down the room, past Nyx as he said, "Once you beat Thanny in that silly little game, make sure everything in that maze of yours is ready for two new visitors."
"Of course, Lord Hades." Pandora giggled.
Nyx stood from her spot and asked, "And what of me, your lordship?"
"Pending. Unsure. Translation: I'll deal with you when the time comes. In the meantime - I'd rethink my strategies, Nyx. Don't underestimate these girls." He said before leaving.
Meanwhile, it was nighttime at Skyworld, and Ang was getting ready for bed. She wrapped herself in her nightgown before a knock came at the door.
"Come in..." She said quietly.
"Um, it's me, Pit." The angel opened the door slightly and poked his head in with eyes closed. "Is it OK if I come in, Angie?" He asked, eyes still closed.
She tilted her head as to why his eyes were closed. Then she realized and giggled.
"No, no, come in! And please - open your eyes."
Pit opened his eyes and he came in.
"How are you feeling?" He asked with a smile. "Today's been crazy. I just wanted to make sure you and the others were alright."
Ang's heart fluttered at his consideration, nodding with a small little blush.
"I'm doing fine. I'm hanging in there - sometimes I worry for Akria and Les. But I know they have each other's back." She patted the side of her bed to offer him to sit down.
Pit sat down on the bed next to Angie.
"As soon as we defeat Hades, everything will be back to normal. Don't worry." Pit assured. "And you and Eva can go back to living with you parents!"
Angie's smile fell right there.
"Oh...Uhm, about that..." she said, hugging herself and looking down.
Pit was confused on why Angie was suddenly so sad.
"It's...actually just me and Eva." Angie told him.
Pit blinked a few times before finally understanding. "…Oh gosh! I'm-I'm sorry! I didn't mean to upset you, Angie! I didn't know, I swear!"
She shakes her head, laughing sadly. "N-No, don't worry Pit. You didn't know, it's fine. I...I get that a lot." She reassured him. "You see...I take care of Eva 3 times over...as her sister, mother and father...all in one."
"...That must be hard, Angie." Pit looked concerned. "What about money? What do you do for money?" He asked.
"Well, I work 2 jobs..." Angie said while crossing her arms. "Both part time...all while going to school too. I hardly see my sister except for at school...and I barely even get to spend time with her to make sure we both survive..." She looked up at Pit wearily.
"...this might sound dumb, but Pit...do you think I'm doing enough?"
"Done enough?" Pit repeated, confused. "What do you mean?"
"I mean..." Ang started before hugging herself. "I mean in the team…I just feel like...I should be working harder, doing more to help Akria and Leslie, you know? I'm no Angel, but I want to assist in some way! If it means kicking a rock at a monster so be it!" She said in a ramble before sighing with tears in her eyes. "It's like if I don't have SOMETHING to work on, or something to help them benefit in battle, that I'll just be...useless, you know? If I'm not working, I feel like a rusted robot...ready to break down into dust. If I'm not helping out, or keeping myself busy...if I'm not earning my keep...what am I good for?"
Pit looked at her in shock. He couldn't believe what he just heard.
"...Angie. Don't say that. Please." Pit said as he took her hand slowly. "I don't want you to look down upon yourself just because...you're not doing anything. Akria and Leslie need your support. So does Eva. We all do." The angel smiled. "You're not useless. No one is."
She looked down at their connected hands as more tears filled her eyes. Pit smiled, tilting her head up.
"You know what I think? I'm really proud of you, Ang." He said.
Angie's eyes widened in shock. "Really...?" She asked.
"Not just for everything you do already...but for the type of person you are." He nodded and interlaced his hand with hers.
"You're strong, you're smart, a fun person to be around, and an amazing cook too." He mused. "Your work isn't the only thing that defines you - you're much more than it. I think your strength and courage, and most of all, your compassion for others...I think that's your best trait of all. And you do all of this for your sister's sake, and still manage to cook amazing grilled cheese on the weekends...And I'm proud of you for it."
The dam broke. Ang sobbed heavily and hugged Pit tightly. "Oh, Pit...!"
Pit was startled but Angie broke down into tears and hugged him. But soon he wrapped his arms around Angie and hugged her back.
She didn't realize how loud she was being - this was the first time she had ever cried. At least this much. She was a tough cookie, and had a tough exterior...and she had put it up for so long.
Akria heard the cries and rushed towards her room, opening the door. "Ang, are you alright? What…"
She saw Pit hugging her tightly, wrapping his wings lightly around her.
"Shhh..."
"...happened…?"
Akria saw Pit in the room comforting Angie, and she just couldn't bring herself to disrupt it. Akria smiled before quietly leaving the room and closing the door behind her, without Pit or Angie noticing she was even there.
