And here we are the next chapter of the story I hope I did this part justice especially for the more picky loud crowd enjoy
Lincoln and his friends enter the classroom, low and behold the classroom was like a mini paradise. There were arcade machines located on the left side of the classroom, each desk had a card that was themed after the T.V. show ARGGH!, At the back of the room is a table with many different sorts of beverages ranging from canned sodas, to juice boxes, to lemonade to especially fountain drinks complete with a cup dispenser on the side, while the whole room was decorated like it was something out of the seventies.
The friends were fascinated by how the room was presented, that none of them could find the energy to move nor speak until the teacher arrived she was a woman with black short hair who looked to be in her thirties, she wore shiny hoop earrings, a matching bead necklace, she only wore black shoes, a yellow sweater dress combination, and a pink bandana decorated with flowers tied to her head, this was no doubt in their mind, Mrs. Salter.
"Good morning class" announces the teacher "I am your teacher Mrs. Salter, but it's cool if you want to call me Miss it doesn't really matter to me. Now you may have noticed little ARGGH! themed cards on the desks, see if you can find one with your name on it, and please help yourself to the juice bar consider it my way of saying welcome to your homeroom class." The students would take up her offer as the group of friends grab their selected juice and seat themselves in their respective seats.
Mrs. Salter begins to speak "ok class welcome to the first year of school, I look forward to getting to know each one of you while you are here, so when I come around the room I'm going to be passing out your schedules and as I approach you, I want you to tell me a little something about yourself" as she went around the room, Lincoln takes a sip of his lemonade while lounging in his seat, thinking to himself how he knew things would turn out ok.
By the time Mrs. Salter reaches Lincoln's desk she asks him "ok Lincoln what would you like to tell me about yourself?" Lincoln says "well for one, I like comic books, the show ARGGH! Is my favorite and I'm the middle child in a family of eleven siblings" Mrs. Salter raising a brow with interest commented, " I knew I recognized your last name from somewhere, you know your sister Lynn was quite a little ball of energy when I met her, but I'll bet you can give off a different vibe" giving Lincoln his schedule afterward.
The teacher returns to her desk once each student is handed a schedule, explaining "feel free to talk amongst yourselves, you all have plenty of free time before the bell and don't hesitate to talk with me about whatever you like either, I'm all ears" Lincoln takes a good look at his schedule, to his surprise as well as the others the arrangement is nothing like how it was in elementary school.
On Lincoln's schedule, it reads as follows: Class A: Math, Bolhofner/ Class B: Gym, Keck/ Class C: Art, Winsor/ Class D: History, Sendak /Homeroom: Salter Beside each name was a room number for each class, Lincoln looking through the schedule raises his hand to ask Mrs. Salter "Mrs. Salter, why does my schedule have more than one class on here, won't you be teaching us math and history?"
Mrs. Salter tilting her head in confusion ask "you mean nobody told you? In Middle school, you actually have to switch classes. Luckily after tomorrow you only switch to two classes each day, we call them A-day and B-day." Lincoln despite hearing this, brushes it off and says "that's nothing to worry about, right guys?" However, his friends for some reason do not immediately respond.
"What's wrong?" Ask's Lincoln concernedly. His friends each show their schedules to the white-haired boy, who is now in surprise at witnessing that everyone's schedules were completely different from his own, the only class they have together is Gym. "So much for getting through it all together huh Lincoln?" Asks Liam, Lincoln responds by saying "don't be like that, we at least have one class together we can bear through Class A until then right" his friends agree to this proposal, they were also amazed Lincoln could manage to find a bright side to this sudden obstacle.
"So who do you have for class A? Ask Clyde, Lincoln looks back at his schedule and replies, "it says on my schedule I'm supposed to report to Bolhofner for math class when the bell rings" when Mrs. Salter heard this, her expression changes to one of concern as she leaves her desk to walk over to the juice bar, she grabs a box of apple juice approaching Lincoln "wow it sounds like you can use one of these" handing Lincoln the said Juice box.
The confused Lincoln asks why Mrs. Salter explains that Bulhoffner's class is down the hall from hers and that it was a long trip, Bolhofner preferred his students to be punctually on time before the second bell. Lincoln simply takes the juice thanking his homeroom teacher, before the others decided to get a juice box for themselves as well, at this point Mrs. Salter once again welcomes the six to Middle School, before almost immediately the bell begins to ring.
By then Lincoln and the others set off to their next class. We focus on Lincoln attempting to run down the long hall hoping to be the first one in the classroom, suddenly out of nowhere he is stopped by a familiar face grabbing him by the collar of his shirt. To his surprise, it was Lynn asking "whoa there where's the fire speedy!" In a professional tone, before recognizing her little brother.
"What gives Lincoln? I almost had my ticket book out, why are you in a big rush anyway?" Ask the sporty girl Lincoln simply explains "I need to get to Bolhoffner's class down the hall before the next bell.", "Bolhoffner!" Repeated Lynn, shocked out of her mind "man that guy is real uptight, I'd hate to be in his class" Lincoln replies "I know and I need to get there before the bell!"
Lynn simply stops him in his tracks "hold up bro, you're not thinking of running a hall filled with older kids, do you? Plus this hall is over fifty meters long, there is no way you can ever make it to class in time, why don't I help you out," she says, Lincoln looks at her out of interest wondering what she had in her mind.
Kneeling on one knee, Lynn slips on a siren hat and says "I don't normally do this for sixth graders, but since your my brother and it is urgent, I'm giving you a one time only escort just hop on my back and hold on" Lincoln does exactly as he is told before he could even react, Lynn takes off down the hall like a rocket with the siren blaring, passing by groups of people bunched together.
By the time they reach Lincoln's destination, she sets him down before handing him more advice on his teacher, explaining "good luck baby bro, try not to get in trouble in there, Bolhoffner makes kids who act up spend lunch with him, it's been noted his breath smells like sardines with a hint of Polynesian sauce," she would abruptly leave afterward when she took notice of a student in trouble, leaving Lincoln to enter his class.
The classroom was simply plain with a few posters that were involved with math, with one blackboard to his right, twelve desks to his left, as well as a sturdy table in front of the blackboard. On it was a math book, a cup of writing utensils, there was a cabinet or two on the far opposite side of the classroom from where Lincoln stood and a small radio on top of one of the cabinets, Lincoln would then start to sit in a random seat before the second bell amongst them, he did not notice who was seated behind him.
It was a boy with burgundy colored hair, freckles, and what is presumed to be a unibrow he wears a green long sleeve shirt with white sleeves, which has a printed blue gear on it, black pants with a black belt, and white sneakers with green stripes. "so they roped you into this class too huh Loud?" Asks the boy, Lincoln who now got a glance at the boy talking to him asks "Chandler, you're in this class too?"
The boy who went by Chandler replies "it's not like I'm here by choice you know" Lincoln simply shrugs before we see their teacher enter the classroom, he was a tall, dark tan-skinned man. He has dark greasy hair, two thick black eyebrows, and a black mustache. He wears a light yellow polo shirt, with a green stripe across it, green trousers, with a black belt buckled in, and brown shoes he was indeed Mr. Bolhofner.
"Good Morning students, as you know, or at least some of you I am Mr. Bolhofner, and I will be your teacher for this class," he says writing his name on the board "now let's go over what is expected from you in this class. But first things first let's get to roll call to get to know who I'll be teaching" Afterward, he would begin a headcount of the students currently in his presence by looking through a list on his clipboard once he was seated on his desk.
Once he was done, he would then go over a few rules that were written on the blackboard, examples include: arrive at class on time and be seated before class starts, full participation expected for every class activity, no electronics in the classroom unless they're calculators or unless the teacher says otherwise. Chandler out of boredom, lays forward on his desk and says "great the first day of school and already I'm bored" only for Bolhofner to strictly call on him, receiving Chandler's immediate attention "McCann, please divert your attention to my fifth rule on the board."
Doing so Chandler notices the fifth rule read out as follows: No talking during a lesson afterward, Bolhofner explains "which brings us to my disciplinary methods, see I was in the military for fifteen years before taking this job, and what the drill sergeant loved to do whenever a soldier was uncooperative was force him to spend his free time in his office until he was ready to cooperate, so if any student decides to not follow the rules I set, act up with me, or does anything at all to upset me, let's just say you'll be spending your lunch with me!"
Chandler, Lincoln, and all the other students start shaking in fear. Who knows what lunch Bolhofner has in his diet "do I make myself clear?" Asks Bolhofner, the students all nod with worry and concern, Bolhofner calmly says well now, I'll go easy on you since it's your first day but remember to be ready for your next A day tomorrow you will need it for a full day of work.
Lincoln lays back on his desk afterward and thinks to himself wondering I'll bet my sisters don't have to put up with this.
