The Pups
Once he made it to the edge, he stood on his hind legs and leaned over it so he could see Felix better. He saw him sitting on the beach with the pups running and playing in the background. When Felix saw him, he started talking to him.
Felix: Good morning, Sleepyhead. Did you forget about watching the pups today while my girl and I go on a picnic?
Ralph had answered him and yawned at the same time which made Felix a little skeptical.
Ralph: What? Me? Forget? Never.
He then started walking down the plank so he could talk to Felix easily. When he got closer though, Felix had noticed how tired Ralph was and asked him about it.
Felix: Ralph, you look so tired. What's wrong?
Ralph: Oh, nothing.
He was going to talk to him some more when the pups ran towards them and began playing with Ralph. Ralph had laid on his back when the pups had jumped on him and tickled him which made him laugh.
Ralph: Hey, pups! Good to see you too. Hey, watch it, now! Come on. That tickles!
He rolled back on his stomach which made them move with one of them play-biting his left ear. When the black and white pup known as Vanellope started growling playfully and ran off with her siblings running to the shoreline. While they were playing, Ralph then started talking to Felix about the pups.
Ralph: Say, why don't the pups spend the night with me, and then tomorrow we can all go on a picnic?
Felix: Ralph, don't you remember? Tomorrow is the day for our pups to find their own homes.
After Felix had said that, Ralph was very concerned and worried about losing the pups so soon.
Ralph: Tomorrow? But, Felix, they're-they're only eight weeks old. I mean what's the hurry?
Felix: I know how you feel, Ralph.
Before Felix could talk more, Zangief ran to greet the pups which got him jumped on by them in the process. While they were playing with Zangief, Felix decided to talk to Ralph more.
Zangief: Puppies! Come to Uncle Zangief!
Pups: Uncle Zangief! Uncle Zangief!
Felix: Oh, but it's their time now. I was their age when I was adopted by my girl.
Ralph: But I-I don't think I can let them go, Felix-not yet.
While they were talking, the pups began playing with their uncle a bit too roughly. They were in the shallow end of the lake with the pups pulling on Zangief's wings with Zangief complaining. Felix was still trying to convince Ralph about the pups being adopted would be best for them, but Ralph was still anxious about it. Meanwhile, with Zangief and the pups, the pups were also tugging on not just Zangief's wings but his legs also.
Zangief: That's tickling me! Ow! Ow! Ow! That's my wing!
Felix: Ralph, each of our children have their own lives to live. It's our job to love them and then-
Zangief: Let go!
Felix: If we wait until they're older, then it'll be harder for them to find homes. You know how humans have a soft spot for puppies.
Ralph: Yeah, and so do I.
Felix: Come on, Ralph. All their humans will be from around here. Oh! I've got to meet my girl now. Enjoy them, Ralph.
He then began to leave but before he left completely, he turned and warned them about the pups then left fully.
Felix: And watch out-they're teething.
Zangief: No kidding!
While the pups were still biting on Zangief, Ralph walked towards them to help Zangief out.
Ralph: Come on, now. Uncle Zangief isn't a chew toy.
All, except Vanellope, had let go of Zangief and ran to a post with a white flag flapping in the air. Vanellope was still biting Zangief's leg when Ralph came to stop her.
Ralph: Hey, take it easy there, Tiger.
He gently grabbed her and tried to pull her away from Zangief's leg, but she had a tight grip which made Zangief whine a lot. She had eventually let go and Ralph had carried her to the beach. He then gently put her down and she ran off to play with her siblings. While they were playing, Ralph and Zangief, who got up and walked towards Ralph, were watching them play. Zangief then began saying something that made Ralph extremely upset about it.
Zangief: Strange-her brothers and sisters look just like dogs. Yet, Vanellope looks just like-
Ralph: A dog. Vanellope looks like a dog, too.
Zangief: Funny, but from where I stand, I see daughter… who looks even more wolf than father.
Ralph: Look, Zangief, I just don't want her to be… different.
Zangief: But she is different! And viva la difference! Ha-ha!
Ralph: Come on. Being different is painful. Nobody knows that better than me. You know how some of the dogs around here still tease me because I'm half wolf. Vanellope may look like a wolf, but she is going to be all dog.
Just then they turned to see Vanellope sitting on top of the post and began to howl. That made Ralph worry and Zangief skeptical about that.
Vanellope: Wooooo!
Zangief: I wouldn't count on it.
Next day, Ralph and Felix had the pups ready in a box to be adopted. A little boy had noticed them and pulled his father's arm towards them.
Boy: Daddy, Daddy, look at the puppies!
Inside the box, Vanellope was howling up a storm which made her siblings cover their ears. Felix then came to her and asked her to stop and she did. When she stopped, the others had taken their paws off their ears and sighed in relief. Vanellope then started talking to Felix when one of her sisters named Saba had jumped on her very excitedly.
Vanellope: Woooo! Woooo!
Felix: Vanellope, Honey, please don't howl like that.
Vanellope: Sorry, Mama. It just happens when I'm excited.
Saba: I'm excited, too! I can't wait to get a human… and chew on their socks!
They then began to play when one the boys named Dingo ran to Ralph and asked him a question which Ralph answered.
Dingo: Papa, are you gonna get a human, too?
Ralph: Nah. See, humans like cute little puppies like you. Not old grizzly grown-ups like me.
Another little boy and his dad had come by to pick out a puppy to take home. He picked up Dingo and headed home which made Felix talk to Ralph to try to calm him down while the pups were saying bye to him.
Boy 2: These are Rosy's puppies, Daddy. Felix had 'em. I like this one.
Felix: I know that human. He'll be a good boy for Dingo.
Pups: Bye! Bye-bye!
Boy 2: And my puppy can play with Felix when Rosy and I play together.
When they were heading home, more kids and their parents went to see the pups.
