The chef is an elderly male with a wide build, wrinkles on his face, and a balding head with white hair wrapped around his cranium. "This is Kovacs, an old friend of mine." Skips introduced them to the chef. "What are you doing here, vampire? We know what's happening at Fangs-In." Mordecai asked Kovacs. "Mordecai, calm down. Let's hear what he has to say." Finn suggested calmly. "Kovacs, mind telling them what you're doing here?" Skips asked Kovacs.
"It began in the old country…" Kovacs began. We were servants of the vampire lord Stanislaus, charged with serving human victims to the court, provided by the Blades of Vladimir; assassins dedicated to serve the many vampire lords around the world. We chefs were the lowest of the low in vampire society, placed upon the same level of disdain the other vampires reserve for humans. Every day, we would be belittled by the higher-ranking vampires, and every day we would hear the dreaded screams of the humans meant to be served to them. After centuries of mistreatment, our sous-chef Boris led us away to freedom in your land.
"That takes us to today, the opening day of Fangs-In Steakhouse. We drink blood from cattle, and serve the rest to humans." Kovacs concluded. "We saw your pal Boris talking to some assassins to whack the competition." Rigby said. "I know… they killed my son…" Kovacs answered as he placed a dusty visor on the table. "They killed Laszlo when he found out. That's why I'm here…" he continued. "Why's he doing this?" Jake asked Kovacs.
"I do not know, but I do not want any more innocents to be harmed by him. Please… will you help me?" Kovacs requested. "We'll help you, Kovacs." Finn agreed. "You will? Oh, thank you, child!" Kovacs thanked Finn. "You were quick to accept a request from a vampire." Skips commented. "We know a vampire, and she's cool with us." Finn responded. "You really do have experience with weird stuff, don't you?" Mordecai commented.
"Man, you don't know the half of it." Jake responded. "You're gonna need equipment." Skips suggested. "Way ahead of ya." Finn said. He takes out his Night Sword from his backpack and deploys his blue arm-sword from his synthetic right arm. Jake takes out his Amp Arsenal and activates the Digital Dagger function, extended to sword length.
"We've been fighting all sorts of creeps and peeps for years. We know what we're doing." Finn said. "Looks like you two got this under control. Me and Mordecai are gonna hang back." Rigby said before being elbowed by Mordecai. "We're helping them. It's your fault we're in this mess." Mordecai told Rigby. "Skips, let's gear up." Mordecai told Skips. The yeti brings a trunk from his garage and opens it, revealing an arsenal of vampire-hunting equipment. Finn, Jake, Mordecai, and Rigby equip themselves with bandoliers of stakes, garlic bulbs, and daggers.
They travel to the street where Fangs-In Steakhouse and the burger shop sat. "Mordecai, come with me to the burger place. Jake, Rigby, find Boris through the back of the steakhouse." Finn advised. "Why not me and Mordecai?" Rigby asked. "You guys are small enough to climb through ventilation." Finn answered. "At least I'm not the one fighting assassins." Rigby said.
They split up to the opposite ends of the street to their objective. Finn and Mordecai approach the burger place, which is closed even though a sign says "OPEN 24 HOURS". "A closed 24-hour restaurant. They must be already here." Mordecai said. They go to the back where they see a door broken open. They peep inside and see a dark kitchen, ravaged with signs of struggle.
"We're too late. They've taken the employees." Mordecai said. Finn looks around the area and sees an open sewer grate on the loading bay floor. "Over there." Finn pointed to the sewer grate. "Gross…" Mordecai said in disgust. Finn promptly jumps in, followed by a reluctant Mordecai.
Meanwhile at Fangs-In, Jake and Rigby are crawling through the vents. "Do you even know where we're going?" Rigby whispered to Jake. "Dog nose don't lie." Jake responded. They eventually come to an opening that leads directly to the manager's office. They jump out of the vent and enter the office, lined with old antique bookshelves, an old rug, and a dark brown desk.
They look for a hiding place and settle for under the desk, where they find a button. "Of course he has a desk button." Rigby said with an unimpressed tone as he pushes the button. A bookshelves sink into the wall, revealing a staircase going underground. "You first." Rigby told Jake. "Okay." Jake complied.
Underground, they find themselves in a dim, candle-lit stone chamber where they see Boris and the rest of the assassins gathered around a stone altar shaped like a chalice, chanting in a foreign language. The kidnapped employees from the burger place are bound and placed in the corner. "Looks like a ritual sacrifice's going on." Jake commented as they hide at the mouth of the staircase. "What do we do? Do we get Mordecai and Finn?" Rigby asked Jake. Coincidentally, a vertical sewer grate on the wall is kicked open by Finn, followed by Mordecai.
"Boris, let those people go!" Finn yelled. "How did you find us?" Boris screamed. "One of your guys left a manhole open." Mordecai answered. "Grr… get them!" Boris commanded the assassins to attack. Finn and Mordecai defend themselves as Jake and Rigby watch.
"Let's take 'em by surprise." Jake said. He transforms his Amp Arsenal into Quick Bow mode and fires a shot towards Boris, but instead another assassin in the head. Boris notices them and goes into a full sprint towards them. "He's coming for us!" Rigby screamed before throwing a silver dagger at him. Boris grabs the silver dagger, but reels in pain as the metal burns his skin on contact.
Jake leaps towards Boris with his Digital Dagger, when another assassin goes between them and parries Jake away. Boris drops the dagger and walks menacingly towards Rigby. "I don't know these guys, I swear!" Rigby pleaded. As Boris nears him, a pan is thrown onto his head, lightly bruising him. Rigby look behind and sees the entire Fangs-In kitchen staff, including Kovacs.
"For Laszlo!" he screams before the staff rushes in to attack the assassins. Assassins come to Boris' aid and fight the staff, lighting Finn and Mordecai's load. Kovacs cuts through the assassins and intercepts Boris. "Why are you doing this?! We agreed no humans would be hurt!" Kovacs asked. "It's necessary to enact my revenge! The Chalice of Blood needs blood!" Boris answered before he slashes Kovacs with his claws.
Boris quickly grabs an employee and drags him to the altar. He slams his head into the altar, waking him up. "Ugh, what…?" he said before Boris bites him in the neck, causing the victim to scream. Blood flows into the altar, and a dark aura emanates from it. The kitchen staff and the heroes watch as the aura engulfs Boris, transforming him into a muscular super vampire with massive bat wings on his back.
"This power… it's mine!" he exclaimed in a distorted voice. "We're too late." the injured Kovacs said as he witnesses the transformation. Boris grows in size, causing the structure to crumble and break. "Get everyone out!" Finn yelled. They carry the five kidnapping victims out of the chamber and ascend to the surface.
Outside, confused patrons who were escorted out of the restaurant early murmur amongst each other in confusion, and Pops and his father are sitting in a limousine. "Sorry we had to leave so early, Pops. I'm not sure why they had to close early." Mr. Maellard spoke to Pops. "It's alright, father. I was becoming very uncomfortable after what Mordecai and Rigby told me." Pops said. "Pops, vampires aren't real. They're just people in makeup." Mr. Maellard assured as the roof of the restaurant collapses with Boris emerging from the building. "Drive!" Mr. Maellard yelled to the driver, who drives them away as people flee from the scene.
The staff and the heroes emerge from the building and witness Boris floating above the street. "What did Boris do?" Finn wondered. "He's obtained the power of a vampire lord, using the Chalice of Blood, probably given by the assassins. They must be rogue, because they're technique's sloppy." Kovacs answered. "How can we stop something like that?" another chef wondered. "I know how." Rigby said as he turns to Jake.
Boris tests his power by firing laser beams from his eyes on random buildings and throwing balls of fire from his hands. "Hey, ugly!" Jake yelled. Boris looks back and sees a giant Jake holding an enlarged Night Sword. "A giant hound wielding a mere sword?" Boris questioned in confusion. "You stop this right now, or I'll have to impale ya!" Jake demanded.
"Foolish pup. No mortal weapon could ever pierce through my skin." Boris threatened. His throws a fireball at Jake, who simply blocks it with the Night Sword's blade, dissipating it instantly. Confused, Boris continues to throw fireballs, fire eye lasers, and telekinetically throw buildings at Jake, who effortlessly defends himself with the Night Sword. "My turn." Jake said. He fluidly weaves around Boris fast enough to daze Boris.
Jake stretches a small mouth that spits out a garlic bulb into Boris' mouth when he wasn't looking. Boris drops to the ground and chokes on the garlic as Jake reforms in front of him. "Y'know when people tell someone to pick on someone their own size? They're talking about me." Jake said. "You… what are you?" Boris asked Jake. "I'm Jake, Jake the Dog." Jake said before plunging the Night Sword into Boris' head.
Boris implodes and turns into dust, which rains upon the street. "He's dead… thanks to you." Kovacs said to Finn. "I couldn't have done it without Jake and these two." Finn said as he gestures to Mordecai and Rigby. Jake stretches to size and re-joins Finn. "Your restaurant's destroyed. What will you do now?" Mordecai asked Kovacs.
"Rebuild, of course. We came to America to have a better life, and we're getting one." Kovacs responded. Out of nowhere, Martin shows up and puts his arms around Finn and Jake. "That's all and good, but it's time for us to go home." he said. "Martin!" Finn and Jake exclaimed. "That's my name, don't wear it out." he said before opening a portal back home.
"Later, losers!" he exclaimed as he pulls Finn and Jake into the portal. "I think we should call it a night." Mordecai suggested. "Yep." Rigby agreed. Finn and Jake are pulled back to their home universe where Minerva and Simon waited. "Finn! Jake!" Simon exclaimed. "Where's your father? What happened?" Minerva asked them.
"We… we saw another universe. It's different from ours." Finn spoke. Among the Minervabots watching, one finds a plastic bag with takeout. She picks up styrofoam containers holding vegetarian thali and two cups of mango lassi. "Just like that night. It's a shame I can't eat." the Minervabot said with a tone of nostalgia. After watching the Minervabot, Martin walks away and fades out.
From the top of a building, The Barista, The Astronaut, and The Scientist watch Finn and Jake's return. "They finally broke the barriers between multiverses." The Barista commented. "We can finally go home." The Scientist added. "No, we have to find whatever caused us to be stranded here." The Astronaut spoke. "You're right, Zero. There's something powerful in this multiverse, and it could threaten existence itself." The Barista agreed.
In the void, a single entity floats in the nothingness. GOLB sat there motionless with its eyes closed. It opens its eyes, revealing its green irises. "Simon… I'm sorry… I did my best to hold it… I'm sorry…" Betty's voice spoke as GOLB's sclera turn yellow. The entity turns to a light in the void; a universe, Finn and Jake's universe.
THE END
