Daniel sat himself down, placing his head in his hands as he took a breath.

"Daniel," you called out to him.

"Give me a minute," he sighed.

"How hard is it to tell me of what I am or where I'm from?" you now ask raising your voice a little.

"It's not that simple," he sighed, contemplating on whether or not to tell you.

"Just tell me, please." You plead.

He lifts his head after running his hands through his hair.

"I took you from the castle," he sighs heavily as you give him a look of utter shock.

"Why?"

He shakes his head. "I had to, alright?"

"I was born in that castle?" you now ask, pointing along with it.

He gave a nod.

"W-Why'd you take me from there?" you ask it as if you're afraid to know, you have your family right here.

"There was an uprising!" he snapped as he now stood.

The soft creaking of the door brought both your attention to your mother, who was stood with concern written all over her face.

"Is everything alright?" she asked.

"Fine," Daniel huffed, pushing past you to head out.

You hear the front door close and before you know it, you're giving chase.

"Daniel!" you try to call him back as your mother calls out to you both as well.

"I'm done, Luna! Just go back inside!"

"No. I'm trying to warn you of those things!" you try to get through to him.

He turns ready to snap back at you again, only in that time you turn to see a pair of glowing eyes looking right back at you. In a flash you're in front of your brother, pushing him harshly to the floor. He bangs his head and is knocked unconscious, the beast that was lunging right at him, is now sinking it's teeth directly into your skin.

"Piece of shit!" you hiss as the creature just now realises it's the wrong one, but it's far too late now as your own claws embed themselves deep inside the creatures abdomen.

You drop to your knees once the creature has fallen from your shoulder, it's bleeding pretty badly but your main concern is your brother.

"Daniel," you look down on him.

He's out cold, looks like you're going to have to carry him back, but the the sound of a horse comes galloping by now. The poor beast is torn down one side, blood running down its face. The fear in its eyes is all too much and you want nothing more than to help it. Howls ring out, mighty beasts giving chase after the poor creature.

You start to stand, but feel something grab your wrist. In that moment your claws extend, until you hear your brother call out. "Luna!"

"I have to help-" you tell him.

"It's too late," he warns you as the horse's dying cries fill the night.

Tears now stream down your face at not being able to do anything.

"Why'd you stop me?" you snap at your brother, who's now sitting up feeling at the open wound on the back of his head.

"You're in no condition," he winced. "Plus you wouldn't be able to take those things on."

"Don't assume what I can and can't do," you frowned as you help him up.

"I'm alright," he smiled.

"Good," you nod. "Now go home."

"You're not coming?" he asks.

Shaking your head you turn to look up at the castle.

"I need to know what's going on and why all this is happening. No one will do anything."

"They have, but nothing changed. That's what I saved you from, you can't go back there!"

"I have to!" you snapped, turning back to face him. "I'm different! I'm a freak!"

He took you in a hug. "You're my sister," he soothed you.

"I know, but I have to do this. I need to know the truth," you sighed heavily against him.

He pulled away slowly. "Go on! Leave! Do what you've got to! Mother won't be pleased, but I'll make something up."

Turning back around, you start to head for the castle. You can't turn back now, you've started your journey. This was it.

"Don't bother coming back!" you heard your brothers last retort.

You knew he didn't mean it, but it still hurt.

"I won't ever forget my family's kindness, but I need to know."

Once at the castle doors, you took a breath to steady your nerves, while also pulling up your cloak a little more to cover the bite wound on your shoulder. Steadily raising a hand you gave a sharp knock and waited. Soon the door opened and there stood a shocked and almost frightened looking face.

"Please don't call at this hour. The lady is in her chambers and is not to be disturbed."

Before the door could be closed again, you held out your hand to stop it.

"Please I need to speak with her, it's important."

"I told you," the woman frowned, trying to keep her voice low. "The lady is in her chambers and refuses to see anyone at this hour. You have to go or else-"

"Then may I wait inside?"

"Please come back in the morning. You're going to get me into trouble."

The woman seemed genuinely scared, but you couldn't wait.

"I'm sorry, I have-"

"You can't!" the maid snapped just as someone was now heard behind her.

Her eyes were wide as fear struck.

"What have I told you?"

The maid turned sharply, head low as to not look up at her mistress.

"I'm so sorry, my lady. But this young woman wished to speak with you."

The tall lady looked down on you, frowning deeply as she wrapped her gown tighter around herself.

"What is the meaning of this?" she demanded to know.

"Please, my lady." You begged. "I have to know what happened to me and where I came from."

"Like I would be able to tell you," she glared.

"No, you don't understand. I was-" before you could finish the door was slammed shut in your face before being locked again.

"It seems I need to teach you to not wake me at all hours," the lady was now heard as clear as day.

"No please. I'm sorry, my lady. Please don't-"

Before she now had time to finish you couldn't stop yourself pushing against the doors. The wood creaked loudly, splintering in places under your strength. You put everything you had into it until they eventually gave way. Panting slightly you now looked right through to the main entrance to see the tall lady looking right back at you. The maid still being held in her grip.

"Leave her alone!" you snap harshly at her. "It was my doing. If you're going to punish someone, punish me!"

The maid looks terrified of what's just happened. The tall lady just gave a smile.

"You're no ordinary child, are you?" she asks.

"No, I'm not!" you continue to stand your ground. "It's why I came here. I want to know the truth of my birth. Now let her go and punish me."

Her gaze lowers to your hands as you hadn't realised it, but the claws had extended again. Following her gaze, you now gasp and quickly draw them back, but it's too late now. The lady had seen them. Dropping the maid she walks over to you.

"Give me your hand, child."

You look up at her before offering up your hand. She looks it over, the smell of blood lingers in the air but she doesn't comment on it just yet.

"Extend them," she orders softly.

You concentrate on bringing them back out again as she looks them over.

"Interesting," is the only word out of her mouth as her hand now moves up to your shoulder.

You dip it, but she gives you a reassuring smile.

"May I?"

You give a nod as she now peels back the cloak that's stuck to your mangled skin. Her brows furrow at this.

"You were attacked?" she frowns.

You nod. "I was protecting my brother this time," you tell her.

She gives a questionable look.

"The first time I ran into them, they didn't seem interested in me they went straight for someone else."

"I see," she now hummed before turning around to the maid behind her. "Run her a bath, see to this wound then have her brought to my chambers."

"Y-Yes, my lady." The maid nodded.

"Go with her and bathe," the woman in white smiled at you. "I will see you shortly."

Did this now mean you'd get to know just who you were, or would she use you as entertainment? Put you on show as some form of freak for all to see? If it did come to that then you'd just fight your way back out or die trying.

"I'm sorry for getting you in trouble," you tell the maid as she silently walks you to the bathroom.

"We can get into trouble at the least little thing," she replies as silently as she can.

Your brows furrow, was the lady of the castle that bad?

"But why?"

"Please, miss, just talking to you like this could get me in trouble."

"I'm sorry," you apologise again.

You watch as she silently gets to work on running you a bath.

"I'll bring you some clean clothes," she says before heading out.

Stripping out of your clothes, you then sink into the tub. The water feels rather nice against your skin. Soon you've lounged enough and start to get to work on washing yourself down. The torn shoulder then gets a good rinse, staining the water red. You climb out, wrap the towel around yourself and wait for the maid to return with clothes and bandages.

She sets her things down as you lower the towel for her. The wound gets a good clean before its covered up.

"Thank you," you smile at her.

She gives a nod before turning to leave you to get dressed. Once you're ready you find her waiting to take you to the lady.

'I hope she can fill in the blanks on why I'm like this,' you can't help but sigh.

Stopping at a door she gives a knock to receive an invitation in return.

"Come in."

"I've brought her, my lady." She announces.

"Good, you can go."

The maid gives a nod before turning to head off, leaving you with the lady.

"As you may or may not know," she now starts to go on. "My castle was once raided sixteen years ago."

"I only recently got to know by my brother, my lady."

"Sixteen years ago," she continues on. "I lost something dear to me."

Your eyes never leave the back of the chair as she now stands from it to come walk over to you. Your head stays level until gloved fingers hook under your chin to lift it up so that you're now looking right at her.

"Do you know what was lost to me?" she asked.

You swallow thickly. "A child?"

She smiles warmly. "That's correct."

"My brother says I was born here, but-"

"How old are you, child?"

"Sixteen," you tell her, feeling more and more nervous.

"And what does your diet consist of?"

You lower your gaze now.

"Meat, my lady."

"Raw?" she asks.

"Yes," you reply. "And blood as well."

A smile graces her face once again.

"You also have the ability to extend your nails," she now adds.

You can't help but wonder if coming here was he right thing to do after all.

"And the sun, are you able to withstand it?"

You shake your head.

"Then I have finally found what was lost to me."

Your eyes dart up to meet hers again.

"I believe you're my daughter," she smiles.

If your face could get any more paler, it would have.

"Y-You're my mother?" you ask, feeling rather faint.

She brings you close to her, holding you like she never ever wanted to let go of you again.

"My darling daughter," she smiles happily as you now start to hug her back.
