I don't own any of this Loud House belongs to Nickelodeon.
By the time Lincoln was finished with his homework it was time for dinner, since it was Monday that meant tonight's dinner would be spaghetti with meatballs, a welcome change since it was originally just meatballs.
Lincoln came into the dinning room and sat at the dinner table where his sisters and mother were already situated, talking among themselves as they waited for Lynn Sr. to bring out the food. From what he heard Leni had gotten a raise at work, Lana is looking forward to the first mud of spring, Lynn's softball team were practicing for the first game of the season, Luna's band had a gig at the park, and Luan had written down some new material for Funny Business.
At last his dad comes in with a bowl of spaghetti, he happily dumps the food on each of their plates, once he got situated at his seat the family digged in. As they ate Lynn Sr. talked about his day at his restaurant, he talked about how Scoots tried to scam them, and getting a large shipment of potatoes which he laughed at.
The family continued to talk among themselves while they ate, until they eventually finished, they then helped clear the table. Luan, Lynn, and Lucy got on dish duty where they did their usual system: Luan washing, Lucy drying, and Lynn putting them away.
After the three were finished with the dishes, they join their family in the living room where they had gathered to watch the latest episode of Dream Boat.
In this episode: Karen is going on a couple dates with Justin, Jack, Jason, and Julian. "Oh, I hope she's going to pick Jack! He's such a gentleman." Leni exclaimed.
"Are you kidding dude? Justin plays a wicked harp." Luna countered.
"Yeah, but Jason has that awesome scorpion!" Lana also countered, her twin cringes in disgust. "Yuck, that thing was gross."
"But awesome! Man, I wish I had a scorpion."
"Don't even think about it Lana." Rita called out.
Lynn Sr. shushes them as the theme song began to play. "It's starting." The rest of the family immediately went silent, the theme song continues; showing off the boat and characters, till at last it ends with the shot of Karen on the deck of the boat with a large heart behind her.
The first scene shows an overhead view of the boat sailing through the Pacific ocean. The narrator of the show began to speak. "Last time on Dream Boat. Tensions rise between Justin and Jack, leaving one with a bruise." A clip from the previous episode showed the two fighting in the ships gallery. "Karen goes on a date with Joe, who unfortunately got the dip after getting seasick on her."
The next scene shows the four remaining contestants line up in front of Karen. "Who will take the next plunge? Find out on this exciting episode of the Dream Boat."
Suddenly the show got cut off as the logo of the news appeared with news music in the background. "We interrupt this program to bring you this shocking report!"
The family let out a groan of frustration, they couldn't believe that their show was interrupted, and it was supposed to be an exciting one from what they saw on the previews. On the TV newsman: George Mcoy sat behind the news desk with what looked be nervousness plastered all over his face. "Good evening Royal Woods, this is George Mcoy bringing what I wish was good news."
The family's frustration now left them, replaced by curiosity for they wondered what was going on.
They weren't the only ones; in Great Lake city the Casagrandes who have also tuned in to Dream Boat, are now watching from the city's own news station.
From her dorm room; Lori sat at her desk, working frantically on her studies. From here she could just slightly hear the TV playing from the main lobby. Her phone then vibrates, thinking that it was Bobby texting her, Lori picks it up where she saw the tagline: Breaking News!
Lori taps the tagline to see what was going on.
On the Loud's TV; George Mcoy cleared his throat before beginning his story. "Earlier today space observatories all over the world has detected a large asteroid on a collision course with Earth." The Louds gasped in shock, they couldn't believe their ears. Surely this must be some kind of early April Fools joke, for that only happen in movies. Right?
"It's true." George continued, the screen switches to a satellite image of the asteroid. "As you can see the asteroid is very large, astronomers believe that it's slightly bigger than the one that killed the dinosaurs. Astronomers have also predicted that the asteroid will impact the Earth in about five days, no one knows where it'll hit, but where ever it does, it will cause a global extinction event that will cause the many deaths of animals and unprotected people."
The family muttered to themselves, completely horrified over this news. On the TV George continues, "Experts say that on the day of the impact, people must take shelter underground with a good stock pile of food, or get as far away from the impact site when it's predicted." The screen switches back to the news room where George can clearly be seen looking grim and frighten.
"I really wish that this was a joke folks, but this is really serious and I'm hoping for the best." The camera focuses on George's scared face before it abruptly switches back to Dream Boat; where Justin is talking to the camera about whatever drama he is currently in.
The Louds however weren't paying attention to the show that moments ago they were so excited to watch. They were too busy letting the information from the news story sink into their minds.
Everyone else in Royal Woods who's seen the news were also processing on what they just heard. It wasn't just Royal Woods though, all over the world people who just got the news reacted in different ways.
Some reacted like the Louds and everyone else in Royal Woods. Others immediately ran out to get supplies, stores thirty minutes later were swamped by people who grabbed whatever they can from the shelves from food, drinks, and a whole load of toilet paper.
Through the franticness, fights broke out in the stores caused by people taking items out of each other's arms. The fights got so bad police and paramedics had to be called. One guy who's in his 60s had a nasty bruise on the side of his face, while another man in his 40s had a nasty cut on his arm.
Surprisingly the vast amount of people doing this is only a small fraction of the human population. As mention before others were busy gathering their thoughts on this oncoming disaster.
Back in Loud residence; the Louds were in silence as they continued to think, the silence is then broken when Leni spoke up. "So a giant rock is going to hit us?"
"Technically yes Leni." Lisa answered. "But this is going to be very bad, though I'm surprised that a asteroid is going to do us in. I was pretty sure that a massive solar flare or the yellowstone volcano would do it."
"Oh man! It's the end of the world as we know it bros." Luna exclaimed.
"What are we going to do?" Lola asked clearly scared along with Lana. The siblings look over to their parents who have gotten stiff, the two took noticed of the ten eyes looking right at them.
The two stayed silent until Lynn cleared his throat. "Kids go upstairs, your mother and I need to talk."
"But it's only 7:15." Lynn Jr. protested.
"Upstairs." He said more sternly.
Knowing better than to argue the siblings quickly went upstairs, leaving their parents to talk among themselves about this very serious topic. "So what do you think we should do Rita?"
Rita lets out a sigh. "I don't know Lynn, I mean we dealt with storms, blizzards, and Luan's pranksgiving. But this, this is something we or no other parent has ever experience before." She explained, Lynn remained silent as he listened to her.
Rita continues. "I mean, what's going to become of us? What's going to become of our home? The country? The world? I mean I know I ain't no expert on dinosaurs, but I know what happened to them when a asteroid struck the planet the last time."
Lynn remains silent before he finally spoke up. "Maybe it'll be different this time, I mean we are smarter than the dinosaurs."
Rita lowers her eyes to her lap. "Yeah, but still what are we going to do?"
Lynn places a comforting hand on his wife's shoulder. "I'm sure we'll think of something, after all Louds never quit." The two hug into each other's arms, comforting one another. Upstairs their children stood in their rooms, feeling completely uneasy as they thought about what was going to happen to them?
In her room however, Lisa had pointed her telescope outside her open window. Despite the oncoming cataclysm she wanted to study it as much as possible, she wanted to see how large it is for herself, plus with enough studying she can maybe predict where it will impact.
Lisa looked out passed her telescope to look at the starry night sky, through the twinkling stars she spotted one that is brighter than the others. Figuring that's where the asteroid is Lisa pointed her telescope to those coordinates, she then looked in and saw the large asteroid with her own eyes.
She was both fascinated and frighten at how big it was as it moved through the cosmos towards her. Lisa quickly turned on her computer, she plugs in an outlet from her telescope to the computer where data immediately came up.
As the computer counted out the data, Lisa continued to look at the asteroid through her telescope. Hours passed and while the rest of her family fell into an uneasy sleep, Lisa kept observing the asteroid until early the next morning.
It was now four days until impact.
