Chapter 4

Alina was the last to wake in the cage her and Nina were in as soon as she woke she vomitted, then she looked around noticing her and Nina are in 1 cage and the others in a larger cage.

"what? Where are we?" Alina asked In shock

"It seems the Fjedra are here" cried Nina.

And Alina could see that Nina had been beaten, Alina forgot her illness and went over and cuddled her friend.

"what about the others?" Alina nodded to the other in the cage.

"I think they have been drugged for now, but now you are awake they will come for you, Alina. I'm sorry I dragged you into this mess"

Before Alina got to say anything they heard "sir the other is awake"

"Grab her" was a shout from the other room.

The guard openned the door quickly grab Alina both girls scream but the guard was to strong and push Nina out of the way and locked the door again. The guard dragged Alina to the next room and threw into a chair, Alina vomitted with the force of hit the hitting the chair and the guard took the opportunity to strap her to the chair.

"Eww this one was sick" the guard complained

"it's no matter we know she is Grisha from Mathias but what type lets find out?"

Alina was to sick to realise what they were saying or doing until they cut her arm she saw her light pour out of the cut.

"Hmm this one is the fable Sun Summoner" the witch hunter smiled.

"For now put her back in the cage" he directed at the guard.

The guard unstrapped Alina and threw her back in the cage, Nina crawled up to her and checked her out she saw nothing but the scratch but Alina was out of it. So she tried listen to her heart beat to see if she had been drugged and to her shock she heard 2 other heartbeat, "Oh my god" Nina said quietly, "Alina you are pregnant"

Several hours later the other had awoken and the guard brought them food to eat, "As you are not Grishan you can eat" he deposited the food and left.

Kaz grab some of the food and told Nina to catch as he knew they would need their strength.

Jesper then asked, "What is wrong with Alina"

Nina didn't want to tell them that Alina was pregnant so she said, "I'm not sure they brought her back like this"

Jesper nodded and started to eat, Nina rolled Alina onto her lap and tried to coax her awake, "Alina" she said softly, "You need to eat to keep your strength up"

"I'm feeling so sick" Alina whispered

"I know but some food will help" Nina help Alina eat until she couldn't then Nina stroked Alina's head whilst she ate.

Alina once she had eaten fell asleep again whilst Nina was stroking her hair.

"What is wrong with her Nina?" Mal asked this time watching her.

"She is unwell and these conditions aren't helping either" Nina replied

The prisoner were left alone that night the next morning came "good morning all" said the witch hunter

"what do you want with us?" Kaz asked

"well you four nothing, but those 2 (he pointed at Alina and Nina) will be sent to Djerholm to be put on trial and burnt at the stake."

"No please" Mal piped up, " we are all friends please just let us leave we will never come back this way"

"No they are monster and have to die" the guard shouted and stormed out.

Alina looked at her friend and cried.

"Don't worry girls we will get you out" Kaz reassured them

Again another guard came around lunch time and gave the other food trying to weaken the Grisha girls but Kaz wouldn't allow that so he always toss them food. This happen for 2 more days but the next day Nina was grab by one of the guards and dragged out to the protest of the others. Then for the next hour all they could hear was her screaming. Alina was afraid she was next and so were the others.

When Nina was brought back she was crying but the guards threw her in the cage and grabbed Alina. Nina passed out as she landed and the others screamed when Alina was taken.

"Please, please I'm just a map maker" Alina pleaded but the guards weren't listening they tied her to the ceiling.

"please, please" Alina cried and the guard stood behind her and began to whip her, "this is your punishment for being a monster and killing our kind" Alina was in so much pain but she called out for the Darkling in her mind.

It had been a few days since the General had reached Ketterdam, his crew changed in to normal attire to see if they could locate Alina and the group. The General told his crew that were to locate but not harm any of the other. He told them to stick two by two and to check in every few hours, he wish he brought more crew but hoped and prayed that they would find Alina soon.

The taverns close to the Port were no use until the last one where the wench who help Alina with the location of the Jail told the soldiers she had seem them but they had left a week ago to move further into the city. The soldier reported back to the General and they expanded their search for the next day. The search went on for the next 2 days until they found a lodging that had been burnt down, they were inform by a passer by that 2 women and a man were taken and the men in black burnt the place down. The solider race back to the ship with the news but the General was in a trance.

The Darkling heard Alina call out for him and he connect to her he watch as she was whip, he recognised the guards uniform they were Fjedran and they we hurting his beloved. "Alina" he spoke, "You are strong my beloved hold on I'm coming to find you"

She was almost out cold to the Fjedran but she spoke to the Darkling, "Your not real" she cried to him, "You died in the fold"

"No my Alina, the Volcran couldn't kill me. I walked out of the fold and back to my Army. I am alive you looking for you my love"

"You lied to me" she kept crying

"I'm sorry I have only ever known one way Alina to save us to save Grisha. With you I loved you from the moment I saw you but I couldn't trust... I have been through too much, seen too much. But I should have trusted you I should never have made you my slave, you are my equal in very way. "

Alina cried out in pain

"Alina do you know where you are" the Darkling asked

"No"

"Alina trust that I am looking for you we are in Ketterdam, please stay strong my beloved"

With that Alina fully passed out.

When she was returned to the cage Nina was crying and so was Inez, they boys were concerned.

"Nina you came back conscious why didn't Alina?" Mal asked

"Was she eating properly before we were taken?" Looking at Mal

"He can't answer you because even thou he was telling her he love her he was staring at others."Inez gave him an angry glare

"she picked at her food" Mal spat, "obviously not good enough for her since lived in a palace"

Jesper spoke up, "she told me she rather save the coin to free your beloved"
