It had already been more than a week since the start of classes. Hermione was disappointed. Draco hadn't said one word to her at all. Not even a glance her way or a smile. Pity really, for some reason that was very strange to our bushy haired Gryffindor friend she had been greatly looking forward to getting to know him. Not just because he was handsome, he was definitely that. He was very undeniably handsome but that's not what mattered. Hermione liked how he could hold up an intelligent conversation with her for hours on end. She absolutely loved how they could talk for hours and hours about new books and types of charms and potions. It was nice to have a new friend. It made her feel refreshed. Harry and Ron were amazing people and she loved them very much but it was almost impossible to hold an intelligent conversation with them. Because of course quidditch and girls occupied 89% of their brainspace it was almost unfair to ask them to think about anything else. Harry not no much, Hermione had had very interesting Conversations with him many times but they were mostly about He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named.

Ron on the other hand, she said it before and she will say it again "had the emotional capacity of a teaspoon" not that that was a bad thing, it was just sometimes bothersome.

"Women are too confused for me," Ron complains at breakfast. It was only September 10th and Ronald Billus Weasly had already been rejected by Susan Bones twice.

"Have you considered the fact that she has been dating someone for the last two years?" Hermione asked her friend. Ron looked at her surprised as if this was new information to him (it wasn't).

"No hermione I haven't" Ron said very sarcastically, "shut up" he added and continued to pick at his food sadly. All of a sudden an owl swooped down and dropped a crisp white note in Hermione's lap.

"What's that?" Harry asked… Hermione began to open the note.

H-

Black Lake at 6? I'll bring some tea.

-D

"Oh nothing,'' Hermione said, shoving the note into her robe pocket.

Harry eyed her suspiciously but didn't press her further on the subject.

"Ok"

Classes went by in a blur and soon Hermione was walking down to the Black lake to see Draco. Before leaving the castle she had casted the Notice-me-not charm on herself.

"Hey Minnie" Draco said to her once she sat down on the dock.

"When did you come up with the name Minnie?" Hermione asks with a small smile.

"Oh I thought it up in potions class Thursday. I figured it suited you since you're so small" Draco teased, pouring her a cup of tea. Both sixth year students were under notice-me-not charms and were sitting on the dock in the warm sunshine. It was six p.m and the sun was just barley going down and beginning to get cool. Students were walking around the black lake and skipping stones across the water, the charm was obviously doing its work because when Ginny and Michal walked by they didn't notice the odd pair having tea on the docks.

"So have you heard anything from your father or mother?" Hermione asks the blonde haired Slytherian.

"Not my father, my mother Owled me yesterday with a pair of socks I forgot" Draco says with a short smile. Hermione raised her eyebrow. She had not expected the prim and proper Narcissa Malfoy to Owl her son a measly pair of socks that he forgot.

"They are my favorite socks. I got them charmed to never get worn down or dirty" Draco says in a very Draco like fashion.

Hermione giggles at this. It was really hard to believe that the cunning Draco Malfoy wore the same socks everyday.

"Minnie?"

"Mhmm?"

"When you were little what did you want to be?" Draco asks the Bushy brown haired Gryfindor before continuing to sip his Mint and lavender tea.

"Well I didn't know about the wizarding world when I was little so I had wanted to be a princess" Hermione says with a giggle. It was funny how Draco could make her giggle like that, she was never really one to giggle before meeting him.

"A… princess… ok that's very realistic.. On a more realistic level what did you want to be?" Draco says with a snort of laughter.

"I don't really know. It changed a lot. Sometimes I wanted to be a baker and own my own shop… sometimes a scientist or a doctor… My mom tells me when I was about five I spent most the year with a baby under my shirt pretending to be pregnant" Hermione jokes. Draco shoes on his tea and starts laughing wildly.

"Why can I totally see a little tiny hermione doing that! Minnie that's so funny!" Draco laughs and laughs. Hermione tries to be serious before ending up laughing herself. Hermione relishes in the feeling of being goofy. It is so incredibly easy to laugh together over just the silliest things. It was nice because she, Ron and Harry had never really laughed like this before. Hermione had always tried to appeal to their humor to make them laugh.

"Ok we need to stop" Draco says putting a hand on his chest which was starting to hurt from all the laughing. Both of them were quiet for a moment before breaking into another laughing fit.

"Stop Minnie, please just stop," Draco says, putting a hand on her shoulder. Hermione continues to laugh.

"I'm not doing anything you started it" Hermione says before becoming silent altogether. She looks down at her shoulder and both sixteen year olds realize that Draco's hand has been on her shoulder for over two minutes.

"Sorry… uh I didn't mean to do that" Draco says after quickly taking his hand away from her shoulder.

"OH its ok Draco"

"No it's not ok I shouldn't have touched you there" He explains embarrassed. Hermione rolls her eyes.

"Draco Malfoy you only touched my shoulder your fine stop being silly"

"Whatever.. I am just sorry"

"Ok thank you for being sorry Draco" Hermione laughs.

Draco smiles at her. Hermione's chest tickles in the most beautiful way when he smiles. She didn't show any confusion but what was this feeling.
